  • How to run the HelloWorld ODE from the browser?

    I develop a simple hello world project by using Eclipse IDE. I can run it from the IDE (Web Services - Test with Web Services Explorer).   • why am I stuck on "Initiating update" when deploying to google

    I've have not had any trouble deploying through eclipse until now. I'm guessing it might have to do with all the stuff I've added today a folder of .pdf and .tex files (in war/web-inf directory) a bit of JDO stuff and a servlet that reads the files in the directory and indexes them into the JDO Is there any way to find out what exactly is the problem?   • Frequent occurence of FULL GC.

    Hi, There is a frequent occurence of FULL GC in our system. We are using Java application running on Tomcat server. Our application is running using internal load balancer setup. We are seeing lot of Full GC's in the server logs due to which the application is hung and Proxy errors are occured.     I seem to be having an issue with Jax-WS and Jax-b playing nicely together. I need to consume a web-service, which has a predefined WSDL. When executing the generated client I am receiving the following error: javax.xml.ws.WebServiceException: javax.xml.bind.MarshalException - with linked exception: [com.sun.istack.SAXException2: unable to marshal type "java.lang.String" as an element because it is missing an @XmlRootElement annotation] This started occurring when I used an external custom binding file to map needlessly complex types to java.lang.string. I was unable to successfully map between the objects without the custom binding. Finally, one other thing I tried was setting a globalBinding definition: <globalBindings generateValueClass="false"></globalBindings> This caused the server to through an argument mismatch exception since the Soap Message was using xs:string xml types instead of passing the defined complex types, so I abandoned that idea. Any insight into what is causing the MarshalException or how to go about solving the issue of calling the webservice and mapping these objects more easily, is greatly appreciated. I've been searching for days and I sadly think I am stumped.

I want to load images into GridView from JSON (by caching images into SD Card), and wanna populate GridView (no matter Internet available or not) once images already downloaded into SD Card.   • Android: Strange out of memory issue

    I am not sure where to start to explain this one. I have a list view with a couple image buttons on each row. When you click the list row, it launches a new activity. If you review some of my other posts, I have had to build my own tabs because of an issue w/ the camera layout. The activity that gets launched for result is a map. If I click on my button to launch the image preview (load an image off the sd card) the application returns from the activity back to the listview activity to the result handler to relaunch my new activity which is nothing more than an image widget. So here is the issue, the image preview on the list view is being done w/ the cursor & listadapter. This makes it pretty simple, but I am not sure how I can put a resized (i.e. smaller bit size not pixel) image as the src for the imgbutton on the fly. So I just resized the image that came off the phone camera. The issue is that I get an out of memory error when it tries to go back and re-launch the 2nd activity. ** My question : is there a way I can build the list adapter easily row by row, where I can resize on the fly (bit wise)? - this would be preferable as I also need to make some changes to the properties of the widgets/elements in each row as I am unable to select a row w/ touch screen b/c of focus issue. (I can use roller ball). ** I know I can do an out of band resize and save of my image, but that is not really what I want to do, but some sample code for that would be nice if that is your suggestion. As soon as I disabled the image on the listview it worked fine again.     In JavaFx i can easy create animations, moving pieces etc., but as far as i see there is better to write program logic and communication in java. Worst i see at the moment is calling javafx part as a result of data incoming from server. Is there any convenient way to do it or its better to change to other technology (flex, qt?) assuming it is not important if program will run in browser or outside as a standalone application? I just started to learn javafx but can drop it and move to other technology and consider c++ + wxWidgets or Qt which im more comforatable with.

  • Why does this Java code not utilize all CPU cores?

    The attached simple Java code should load all available cpu core when starting it with the right parameters. So for instance, you start it with java VMTest 8 int 0 and it will start 8 threads that do nothing else than looping and adding 2 to an integer. Something that runs in registers and not even allocates new memory. The problem we are facing now is, that we do not get a 24 core machine loaded (AMD 2 sockets with 12 cores each), when running this simple program (with 24 threads of course). Similar things happen with 2 programs each 12 threads or smaller machines. So our suspicion is that the JVM (Sun JDK 6u20 on Linux x64) does not scale well. Did anyone see similar things or has the ability to run it and report whether or not it runs well on his/her machine (= 8 cores only please)? Ideas?   • Is it normal for Java /Tomcat to keep checking for java_pid<nnnn>.hprof?

    I was monitoring my JVM running Apache Tomcat 6, running on Windows, and I noticed that every 3 seconds or so the JVM process (C:\Tomcat\bin\tomcat6.exe) is polling to see whether or not C:\Tomcatcat\java_pid3748.hprof exists, where 3748 is the Windows process ID. I haven't seen write to the hprof file, just test for existence. (I'm using Sysinternals Process Monitor (procmon.exe) for this monitoring. In procmon the polling shows up as a QueryDirectory operation, which always returns Result "NO SUCH FILE".) Is this normal, or is this a potential red flag? I gather that these hprof files are generated, perhaps among other times, when you enable the -XX:+HeapDumpOnOutOfMemoryError Java flag. I haven't enabled it myself, though I guess it could be enabled somehow in the Tomcat startup scripts.

  • Network card very slow, only on Windows

    This only happens to 1 of my machine, and only when booting into Windows 7. No matter what network card I put in, Windows would default its mode to 10Mbps full duplex. Transfer speed is approximately 1 MB/s. If I set it to 100Mbps, the transfer drops to 100-200K/s. If I set it to 1000Mbps, the connection is lost completely. I've tried swapping in different cards, both PCI-E and PCI. I'v etried update the windows, I've tried reinstalling the drivers... On this very same machine, if I boot into Fedora, it can use the card at its full capacity 1000Mbps transfering 80+ MB/s And all the cards work just fine when plugging into other machines on the same network. I'm very curious. What could be the reason for this? The only different software that this machine has is virtual box with a VPN emulator, but disabling that VPN doesn't seem to do anything. I would like to get this fixed, hopefully, without reinstalling windows _< Will that be possible?

  • Network card/driver stops under heavy load

    Since about approx. 2 month, I do have the following issue with my approx. 1 year old development machine (Windows 7, 64 bit): When doing network intensive operations, like e.g. executing some SQL script on a remote SQL server to select or update 1000 of records, the network card stops working. I.e. suddenly, No network connection is present anymore. No internet, no local connection, simply nothing. The only resolution so far I found is to disable my network card and then simply enable it back, like in the following screenshots: 1.) Click "Deactivate" 2.) Click "Activate" (German screenshots only, sorry) Now this is an acceptable solution to work around this issue, but I would love to have this fixed, since it suddenly stops me from working when I'm connected remotely via VPN/RDP on my machine (Win7 64bit). So my question is: Could you imagine a possible cause for this issue and give some hints how to hunt/resolve it? I could imagine that this is a driver issue, a hardware issue or even some kind of background software issue like a software firewall or a virus scanner.

    Alright, I asked this on StackOverflow (here) and they suggested trying ServerFault to get help on permissions. So here's the deal. We designed a custom PCI card and wrote the driver for it. It's been working for years without problems but now we encountered one particular installation were it doesn't work. The problem is that we cannot connect to the PCI to begin communication with it. We tried replacing the card and had the same problem. We had the motherboard replaced thinking the PCI slots were bad. That didn't help either. We tried the cards in a different computer and they all worked. So it seemed to be something specific to the computer. The Windows Device Manager indicates the device is working properly and seems to have all the correct driver info. We now have this troublesome computer back at the office for testing. With the help of some extra debug info in the driver we determined that we cannot connect because access is denied. Sounds like a permissions issue to me. I should note that we are logged into the system as a local administrator. So what configuration option in Windows can prevent access to a device?

This web-page has a redirect loop. The website is php. The problem is that that my lots of pages from old directory are indexed in googles and they are getting duplicate contents.   • Linux virtualization choices with graphic acceleration / video card support

    I am in the process of building a new desktop machine for work and fun. I am looking to run a undecided flavor of Linux (guessing Ubuntu) as my primary OS and several Windows installs with a Windows 7 install for .net development and gaming as virtualized environments. From my previous experiences with virtualization software in Linux I was never able to find an application that offered descent video card support / graphic acceleration etc. to be capable of playing any games within one of the virtualized environments. And since I will be investing quite a bit of money into this system for gaming I would naturally want to find the best option available to achieve this setup. So Onto my question: Is there any virtualization software available for Linux that has full video card support, graphic acceleration and capable of taking advantage of everything the video cards have to offer within the virtualized environments? Or am I stuck with running Windows 7 as my primary OS and using virtualization for Linux and the other OS's? Also I have no preference on open/closed source and price range would be up to $175.00 to support at least 3 virtualized environments.

  • MacBook Pro (2007 - ATI-Card) Screen goes half black then shuts down the entire computer

    Hey, when I'm starting my MBP I get about 10-60 seconds of the booting process before the screen goes half black (Its like applying a black to transparent gradient from the left side of the screen to the middle of the screen). After a 5 seconds the entire screen blacks out and the MBP shuts down. There have been issues with heat and some minor artifacts on the screen in the past but nothing serious as far as I know. Everything could be resolved by rebooting or letting the MBP cool down a bit. I would like to identify the problem now. There are 3 possibilities I can think of right now: My graphics card is defect and shuts down after a few seconds. (But if thats true, I find it kind of hard to explain the HALF black screen) My LCD-Panel is defect and sends back wrong signals so the system shuts down??? (I not sure about that) My fan or/and thermal sensors are defect and forcing the graphics card to shut down. Can anyone point if I'm right or if there yet another reason for this. I'd be thankful for any hint or tips. Cheers, Per
