    Is it possible to ignore mapping a member depending on the value of a source property? For example if we have: public class Car { public int Id { get; set; } public string Code { get; set; } } public class CarViewModel { public int Id { get; set; } public string Code { get; set; } } I'm looking for something like Mapper.CreateMap<CarViewModel, Car>() .ForMember(dest => dest.Code, opt => opt.Ignore().If(source => source.Id == 0)) So far the only solution I have is too use two different view model and create different mappings for each one.

  • Why can't I use WCF DataContract and ISerializable on the same class?

    Hi all, I have a class that I need to be able to serialize to a SQLServer session variable and be available over a WCF Service. "System.Runtime.Serialization.InvalidDataContractException: Type 'BarProxybcb100e8617f40ceaa832fe4bb94533c' cannot be ISerializable and have DataContractAttribute attribute." If I take out the Serializable attribute, the WCF service works, but when the object can't be serialized to session. If I remove the DataContract attribute from class Bar, the WCF service fails saying Type 'BarProxy3bb05a31167f4ba492909ec941a54533' with data contract name 'BarProxy3bb05a31167f4ba492909ec941a54533:http://schemas.datacontract.org/2004/07/' is not expected. Add any types not known statically to the list of known types - for example, by using the KnownTypeAttribute attribute or by adding them to the list of known types passed to DataContractSerializer I've tried adding a KnownType attribute to the foo class [KnownType(typeof(Bar))] But I still get the same error.     Hi guys, I want to be able to do the following: I have a model and inside there I do have an entity. This entity has the following structure: public class Client { public int Id { get; set; } public string Name { get; set; } public string Description { get; set; } } What I want now, is to just get the client name based on the id. Therefore I wrote a stored procedure which is doing this. CREATE PROCEDURE [Client].[GetBasics] @Id INT AS BEGIN -- SET NOCOUNT ON added to prevent extra result sets from -- interfering with SELECT statements. SET NOCOUNT ON; SELECT Name FROM Client.Client INNER JOIN Client.Validity ON ClientId = Client.Id WHERE Client.Id = @Id; END Now, going back to VS, I do update the model from the database with the stored procedure included. Next step is to map this stored procedure to the client entity as a function import. This also works fine. Trying now to load one client's name results into an error during runtime... "The data reader is incompatible with the specified 'CSTestModel.Client'. A member of the type, 'Id', does not have a corresponding column in the data reader with the same name." I am OK with the message. I know how to fix this (returning as resultset Id, Name, Description). My idea behind this question is the following: I just want to load parts of the entity, not the complete entity itself. Is there a solution to my problem (except creating complex types)?   • socket operation on nonsocket or bad file descriptor

    I'm writing a pthread server which takes requests from clients and sends them back a bunch of .ppm files. Everything seems to go well, but sometimes when I have just 1 client connected, when trying to read from the file descriptor (for the file), it says Bad file Descriptor. This doesn't make sense, since my int fd isn't -1, and the file most certainly exists. Other times, I get this "Socket operation on nonsocket" error. This is weird because other times, it doesn't give me this error and everything works fine. When trying to connect multiple clients, for some reason, it will only send correctly to one, and then the other client gets the bad file descriptor or "nonsocket" error, even though both threads are processing the same messages and do the same routines. Anyone have an idea why? The socket that is opened when a new client connects, must be passed to the threads. To do this, we need some sort of global array. Only the first datepicker (Order Date)is able to output proper result while the other 2 datepicker (Start Date & End Date) are not able to generate proper result.     Hello, I'm trying to run Sqlite3 with CakePHP. Yes, i know it's not officially supported, but this post here: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1021980/cakephp-sqlite says it's possible. I've downloaded the new driver file "dbo_sqlite3.7.php" and put it in "cake/libs/model/datasources/dbo". Now I'm having trouble getting connected to the db. Things I'm confused on: Where should my database.sqlite file be kept What should my config file look like. Should I be referencing the full filename of the driver? Like 'driver' = 'dbo_sqlite3.7.php'? And can I use relative paths to the db file? Is there a difference in sqlite3 files and sqlite2 files by themselves, or is it just the way that you handle the files that makes the difference? Thank you for your help. I'm new to cake and I'm excited about learning more.

    i'm not sure how to solve the following problem: i have a triangle with each of the three known vertex positions A,B,C being inaccurate, meaning they can each deviate up to certain known radii rA, rB, rC into arbitrary directions. given such a triangle, i want to calculate how much the difference of two specific edge lengths (for instance the difference between lengths of edge a and edge b) of the triangle may change in the worst case. is there any elegant mathematical solution to this problem? the naive way i thought of is calculating all 360^3 angle combinations and measuring the edge differences for each case, which is a rather high overhead.

My goal is to be able to zip up files (not folders, but individual files from various locations, which I have stored in an array) using the built-in Windows Compression. I am using VB6. I though of a DataGrid. Though I'm coming from ASP.net I'd first think of this.dataGridView1.DataSource = A.GetAllA(ConnectionString) Works, but I'd prefer a better databinding with BindingSources. (Because I've always heard that thats the way to go) I managed to drop a BindingSource onto the form and set the DataSource property to class A. But where can I set the SelectMethod and its parameters? If I set DataSource property of the dataGridView to the BindingSource, it will only display an empty line. Is this the right way to go? Will it only require some additional clicks in the wizard, or do I need to read tons of documentation to get this working?

I'm trying to use a screen-saver on a Windows XP 64 bit machine which uses a .NET app which makes an interop call which relies on some x86 Shockwave Dlls (some Shockwave animation). Everything should be in the %systemroot%\WINNT\SysWOW64 directory. When the timeout for the screensaver occurs, the process should looks like this: Screensaver.scr - .NET app - shockwave animation. During installation I want a vbscript to my screen-saver file to copy the Screensaver.scr to the SysWow64 directory and then set the proper registry key to this file for Windows to launch the screen-saver.     I have another programmer who I'm trying to explain why it is that a UI component should not also be a data-structure. For instance say that you get a data-structure that contains a record-set from the "database", and you wish to display that record-set in a UI component within your application. According to this programmer (who will remain nameless, he's young and I'm teaching him...), we should subclass the data-structure into a class that will draw the UI component within our application!!!!!! And thus according to this logic, the record-set should manage the drawing of the UI. **Head Desk*** I know that asking a record-set to draw itself is wrong, because, if you wish to render the same data-structure on more than one type of component on your UI, you are going to have a real mess on your hands; you'll need to extend yet another class for each and every UI component that you render from the base-class of your record-set; I am well aware of the "cleanliness" of the of the MVC pattern (and by that what I really mean is you don't confuse your data (the Model) with your UI (the view) or the actions that take place on the data (the Controller more or less...okay not really the API should really handle that...and the Controller should just make as few calls to it as it can, telling it which view to render)) But it's certainly alot cleaner than using data-structures to render UI components! Is there any other advice I could send his way other than the example above? I understand that when you first learn OOP you go through "a stage" where you where just want to extend everything. Followed by a stage when you think that Design Patterns are the solution every single problem...which isn't entirely correct either...thanks Jeff. Is there a way that I can gently nudge this kid in the right direction? Do you have any more examples that might help explain my point to him?

I am putting together a quick demo before we go for the full implementation I have a treeview on the left with Continent Country City structure when a user select the city it should populate some textboxes in a tabcontrol on the right hand side I made it sort of work but cannot make it work with composite objects. In a nutshell can you spot what is wrong with my zaml or code. Why is not binding to a my CityDetails.ClubsCount or CityDetails.PubsCount?     Hi, first time poster, long time reader so be gentle with me :) See the following code which works to generate me timestamps for the beginning and end of every month in a financial year. int year = 2010; // Financial year runs from Sept-Aug so earlyMonths are those where year = FY-1 and lateMonths are those where year = FY int[] earlyMonths = {8, 9, 10, 11}; // Sept to Dec int earlyYear = year -1; for (int i : earlyMonths) { month = i; Calendar cal = Calendar.getInstance(); cal.clear(); cal.set(earlyYear,month,1,0,0,0); Long start = cal.getTimeInMillis(); cal.clear(); cal.set(earlyYear,month,1); lastDayofMonth = cal.getActualMaximum(GregorianCalendar.DAY_OF_MONTH); cal.set(earlyYear,month,lastDayofMonth,23,59,59); Long end = cal.getTimeInMillis(); } int[] lateMonths = {0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7}; // Jan to Aug for (int i : lateMonths) { month = i; Calendar cal = Calendar.getInstance(); cal.clear(); cal.set(year,month,1,0,0,0); Long start = cal.getTimeInMillis(); cal.clear(); cal.set(year,month,1); lastDayofMonth = cal.getActualMaximum(GregorianCalendar.DAY_OF_MONTH); cal.set(year,month,lastDayofMonth,23,59,59); Long end = cal.getTimeInMillis(); } So far so good, but in order to use these results I need these timestamps to be output to variables named by month (to be used in a prepared statement later in the code. e.g. SeptStart = sometimestamp, SeptEnd = some timestamp etc etc. I don't know if it is possible to declare new variables based on the results of each loop. Any ideas?

  • How do you save compare options in Visual Studio 2010 > SQL 2012 Database Project

    Been using the new SQL 2012 Data Tools SQL Server Database Project in VS 2010. Every time we do a schema compare we have to set the options for the current compare. This does not seem to be tied back to the global compare options you can set in Tools Options. Does anybody know where to set the 'new' global compare options. NOTE: This is the new SQL 2012 compare from Data Tools, and not the old 2005/2008 compare that comes standard with Studio 2010.
