  I would like to generate 2000 random numbers between 1 and 10 such that for each random number I have the same number of instances. In this case 200 for each number. What should be random is the order in which it is generated. I have the following problem: I have an array with 2000 entries but not each with unique values, for example it starts like this: 11112233333333344445667777777777 and consists of 2000 entries. I would like to generate random numbers and assign each UNIQUE value a separate random number but have an entry for each value So my intended result would look like this: original array: 11112233333333344445667777777777 random numbers: 33334466666666699991778888888888

  I'm trying to create a fairly simple piece of JavaScript that displays a random image from an array each time the page loads. I need to figure out a way to get this running without adding code to the body tag. Is there a way to accomplish this without, say, an onload funtion placed in the body tag?   I have an array with a lot of data from a database. In the array, there are two fields called teameinsid and teamzweiid. The query is a very simple one : $spiel = mysql_query("select teameinsid, teamzweiid from begegnung", $connection) or die("Keine passende Begegnung"); What I need is to search in the database for the names of these IDs. The names are in a different table. What I have now is the following: while($tmp = mysql_fetch_array($spiel)){ $teins = $tmp['teameinsid']; $tzwei = $tmp['teamzweiid']; } So I know the two IDs, but I don't know where to save the names. If I try: $name = mysql_query("select name from team where teameinsid = $teins", $con) it gets overwritten every time. How can I manage this?

A search done at Microsoft Visual C++ Developer Center doesn't give any results for "sizeOfInput". I am not a C/C++ expert, and am curious to find out why this happens - any C/C++ experts who can "shed some light" on this? Unrelated note: I seriously thought of rewriting the whole code to use quicksort or merge sort before posting it here. But, after all, it is not Stooge sort...

Is it possible somehow with jQuery to find the common elements and add a class to the divs in #set1 that have the same id with divs in #set2? • How do I change the background image of my app?

  Hello I have looked around and found some code which so called chooses an image from an array of image objects, but cant find an explanation. I would like to make my app have a background image and the user can select next and previous buttons to scroll through some full screen images, setting them as the background image as they scroll. I know how to do this in java, but cant seem to do it for this app. How or what code is linked to a next button to grab the next image in the array and reverse for the back button? Then that needs to be displayed obviously. I have used a layered architecture with a MVC style approach but cant seem to put it together with Objective-C. Would the buttons call the appropriate methods of the so called delegates, which the delegates handle fetching and returning the Images? Would the buttons use the returned images and actually handle the redrawing? I would really appreciate the help. Regards Jarryd

• In Perl, is there a built in way to compare two arrays for equality?

  I have two arrays of strings that I would like to compare for equality: my @array1 = ("part1", "part2", "part3", "part4"); my @array2 = ("part1", "PART2", "part3", "part4"); Is there a built-in way to compare arrays like there is for scalars? I tried: if (@array1 == @array2) {...} but it just evaluated each array in scalar context, and so compared the length of each array. I can roll my own function to do it, but it seems like such a low-level operation that there should be a built-in way to do it. Is there? Edit: sadly, I don't have access to 5.10+ or optional components.

  I have an NSArray of NSNumbers with integer values such as [1,10,3]. I want to get the sum of all the possible subsets of these numbers. For example for 1,10 and 3 i would get: 1, 10, 3, 1+10=11, 1+3=4, 10+3=13, 1+10+3=14 there are 2^n possible combinations. I understand the math of it but im having difficulties putting this into code. so how can i put this into a method that would take the initial array of numbers and return an array with all the sums of the subsets? e.g -(NSArray *) getSums:(NSArray *)numbers; I understand that the results grow exponentially but im going to be using it for small sets of numbers.

• Is there a way to delete a form element without using jQuery .remove()?

  Using .remove() so that the select all check box is not submitted to the server. However, it is visible to the user as the select all checkbox is "physically" removed from the web page, upon submit. Instead, I would like removing the select all check box to appear seamless but NOT on the server side. i.e. - I would like to keep the input on the page but remove the element in the form array before it is sent. Can I manipulate the element[] array of the form before it is sent to the server and delete it there? Thank you.

• PHP __call vs method_exists

  The Project I'm working on contains something like a wrapper for call_user_func(_array) which does some checks before execution. One of those checks is method_exists (In Case the supplied first argument is an instance of a class and the second is a method name) The other is_callable. The function will throw an exception if one of those checks fails. My Code contains an array with function names (setFoo, setBar, etc.) and the php magic function for overloading (__call) which handles setting, replacing and deletion of certain variables (better certain array elements). The Problem: method_exists will return false if the function is not defined. Do I have any chance to get a true if the __call function does proper handling of the request?

  Hey All. Trying to create a 1-liner to loop through a mysql result set. Example: $sql = "SELECT uid, role FROM usr WHERE uid = '$this-uid'"; $r = db::q($sql); if($r-rows()) { $q = mysql_fetch_assoc($r-result); while(list($k, $v) = each($q)) { // would like to omit line above and consolidate here $_SESSION['usr'][$k] = $this->$k = $v; } } problem is that consolidating while loop like so: while(list($k, $v) = each(mysql_fetch_assoc($r-result)) returns an error a la each() not getting object or array, even though of course it is. I think the problem is a casting issue, but it does not seem you can do: each( (array) mysql_fetch_assoc($r-result)) Any ideas? I like to code as tersely as possible, and having "$q = mysql_fetch_assoc($r-result)" everywhere will annoy me, does already. Keep posted... Thanks!

I'm aware that in order to access a function within the class, you use call_user_func(): class foo { function bar() { echo 'hi'; } } $class = "foo"; all_user_func(array($class, 'bar')); // prints hi However, this does not work when trying to access a static variable within the class: class foo { public static $bar = 'hi'; } $class = "foo"; call_user_func(array($class, 'bar')); // nothing echo $foo::$bar; // invalid How do I get at this variable? Is it even possible? I have a bad feeling this is only available in PHP 5.3 going forward and I'm running PHP 5.2.6. Thanks.

  Hello everyone, At the moment i'm making an application where it is possible to make profiles with different settings. Which datatypes would you recommend me saving these information in? I have a table which is showing the profile name and the version number. But for each profile there need to be stored more information. Therefore the idea i'm working on have 2 arrays. 1 for all the profile information and 1 who is being made when loading the information. The second array is the one going to be showed in the table. Because the table doesnt show all the stored information. .. but this seems kinda stupid.
