I am JEE developer, and I want to get skills on concurrency development.
Could you provide me some assignments, ideas, or other - just for learning and training concurrency programming?
Thanks!
I've got my interpreter up and running - quite bug-free and stable for now - now I want to add some visual options to my language to play around.
What is a good GUI library easy to use and mainly easy to embed and "link" to my programming language?
What general rules do I have to follow?
I'm currently on XP with Microsoft Visual Studio 2010.
In light of the "Hidden features of..." series of questions, what little-known features of PL/SQL have become useful to you?
Edit: Features specific to PL/SQL are preferred over features of Oracle's SQL syntax. However, because PL/SQL can use most of Oracle's SQL constructs, they may be included if they make programming in PL/SQL easier.
I'm completely new to programming and I'm trying to build an autorespoder to send a msg to a specific email address.
Using an if statement, I can check if there is an email from a certain address in the inbox and I can send an email, but if there are multiple emails from that address, how can I make a for loop to send an email for every email from that specific address.
I tried to do use this as a loop:
for M.search(None, 'From', address) in M.select():
but I get the error: "can't assign to function call" on that line
While designing my site I am constantly faced with the issue of whether its ok to TAKE ideas and designs from other sites. In some cases there is no distinction in certain aspects. Is there anything ethically wrong with this? Is this expected in the design programming community?
In my experience I have used many queries like select, order by, where clause etc.. in mysql, sql-server, oracle etc
For a moment i have thought,
1)how is this internally written to implement the above queries
2) which language do they use?
3) is that programming language? if yes which language?
4)what kind of environment required to implement this kind of complex database
I am programming an iPhone app, and I need to force it to exit due to certain user actions. After cleaning up memory the app allocated, what's the appropriate method to call to terminate the application?
I am actually new to java programming and am finding it difficult to take integer input and storing it in variables...i would like it if someone could tell me how to do it or provide with an example like adding two numbers given by the user..
Hi I mostly do C++, Objective-C programming. And I found Xcode plus an auto completion/macro plugin (Completion Dictionary) quite adequate.
However, all people seem to praise over their pure text editors. I tried Textmate for a bit; liked its simplicity but dislike its files/framework handling.
Am I missing something here? Or, do Vim or Emacs have auto-completion as good as Xcode?
What are the dangerous characters that should be replaced in user input when the users' input will be inserted in a MySQL query? I know about quotes, double quotes, \r and \n. Are there others?(I don't have the option of using a smart connector that accepts parameters so I have to build the query myself and this will be implemented in multiple programming languages, including some obscure ones so solutions such as mysql_real_escape_string in PHP are not valid)
i'm being dissapointed in programming when some issues can't be placed in my mind.
i have file, which starts <?php session_start();?>, and it returns an error
Warning: session_start() [function.session-start]: Cannot send session cache limiter - headers already sent (output started at C:\xampp2\htdocs\index.php:1) in C:\xampp2\htdocs\index.php on line 3
and now take a look at the moment, i can't anderstand anyway
when i copy the all content of my file into another file, it start working.
can somebody explain how can it happen.
thanks
Programming challenge: Given a set of integers [1, 2, 3, 4, 5] I would like to generate all possible k-combinations in ascending size order in Java; e.g.
[1], [2], [3], [4], [5], [1, 2], [1, 3] ... [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
It is fairly easy to produce a recursive solution that generates all combinations and then sort them afterwards but I imagine there's a more efficient way that removes the need for the additional sort.
Hi, i'm programming a simple OpenGL program on a multi-core computer that has a GPU. The GPU is a simple GeForce with PhysX, CUDA and OpenGL 2.1 support. When i run this program, is the host CPU that executes OpenGL specific commands or the ones are directly transferred
to the GPU ???
i am new to windows services programming. I have confusion about what to set the Account type while writing a windows services.
how to choose or how to determine to which account type we need to set while writing a service.
Can someone recommend some good resources for learning about MVC in PHP? It doesn't have to be specific to MVC in PHP. In fact, I'm looking for recommendations of materials that focus on the higher level concepts with examples that could port well to any language so even ASP.net books will be tolerated ;-)
Any recommendations for books, websites, blogs, etc would be excellent.
UPDATE: I have reviewed the MVC Learning Resources post but all of the references there seemed to be ASP.net specific. I was hoping to gather suggestions that were broader than a single language.
I have the following points and clustering of data S1. Can anyone tell me how to calculate the total error associated with this clustering? I know it's not a strictly programming question, but I need it for my algorithm. I think the answer should be 4/3 but I have no idea how to calculate this. Can anyone help me?
x1= (2.0,1.0)
x2= (2.0,2.0)
x3= (1.0,2.0)
S1={ x1, x2, x3 }
I am trying to develop Annotation based Spring Hibernate standalone application to connect to DB. I've gone through the some blogs and wondered like we should not make use of hibernateTemplate becoz coupling your application tightly to the spring framework. For this reason, Spring recommends that HibernateTemplate no longer be used.Further more my requirement is changed to Spring Hibernate with AOP using Declarative Transaction management.I am new to AOP concepts. Can any one please give an example on Spring Hibernate Connection through AOP. That would be a great help to me.
Thanks in advance.
I realise you can just #define some integers, but why didn't C have a dedicated boolean data type before C99?
It's such a common occurence in programming and logic, I don't understand the absense of an explicit type and notation.
I need to get last four bytes out of a double variable .The platform is Arm and compiler is RVCT.Programming language used is C.What is the safest way.
Thanks
I'm asking this because I'm relatively new to interpreter development and I wanted to know some basic concepts before reinventing the wheel.
I thought of the values of all variables stored in an array which makes the current scope, upon entering a function the array is swapped and the original array put on some sort of stack. When leaving the function the top element of the "scope stack" is popped of and used again.
Is this basically right?
Isn't swapping arrays (which means moving around a lot of data) not very slow and therefore not used by modern interpreters?
Hell every body , i am newbie in linux programming ( Not Windows ) .
i want to know how i can using OpenGL on Linux Platform Without X-Window System , can i send OpenGL Graphics Directly to Framebuffer Device ?!
There Is Project Named DirectFB ( Direct FrameBuffer ) . with DirectFB We can do this but DirectFB needs for driver for each hardware and i want to user a graphic card that only have linux driver .
what is your suggestion to Me .
Thanku.
Hello.
I have a folder with lots of doc-documents and I need to upload their context into database. The problem is that some of them are password protected and I don't know the password. I would like to skip them but I don't know how to detect if password protection presents.
If someone helps I'll appriciate it greatly.
P.S. Programming language is C#.
