• "Play on another device" function not working with Samsung Allshare

  Briefly I can't get work "Play on another device" function More detailed My Samsung TV (which support network) and PC are in the same network. The problem is, I can play PC contents from TV. But when I try to control TV remotely from Allshare software (PC), it shows TV only as connected device: But not as remote player in "players" list The result Tried to turn off firewall completely, reset router, re-install software. My problem is that I need to do a preg_replace on my $article-text, but I don't know how to then apply the changes to the matched terms. However if the same command is run manually everything works...???   2010/09/19 14:52:07 [error] 1419#0: *10220 recv() failed (104: Connection reset by peer) while reading response header from upstream, client: [...], server: [...], request: "POST /[...] HTTP/1.1", upstream: "fastcgi://unix:/server/php-fpm.sock:", host: "[...]", referrer: "[...]" This is the error I'm receiving randomly. 95% of the time my setup works perfectly, but once in a while I'm getting 502 for 3-4 subsequent requests. I'm using Unix socket between the server and the PHP process as you can see, also have set up FastCGI params (SCRIPT_FILENAME), etc. correctly. What can I do about it to strengthen the connection between these services? Thank you very much in advance.

• Facebook Connect for simple authentication?

  Hi I have an ASP.net website which I want to introduce 'Facebook Connect' functionality into, purely for account login/creation purposes. I want a user to be able to click the 'Login using Facebook' type button, and to then log that user into my website based on a userid lookup from the Facebook response. I have a couple of questions surrounding this: Presumeably I can do all of this using the Facebook API - without the need for an actual pretty public facing 'application' on Facebook? I simply want to utilise the Facebook API for authenticating an account. I'm not interested in creating some app for doing something 'within' facebook itself. I have located some code snippets online and tried using the Facebook Developer Toolkit, calling the getInfo method, and whilst it does come back to my website with a uid, none of the other user information is present within the response, like Email, Name etc. The uid is the only populated field in the response. • Using Javascript to expand DIVs and go to anchor text

  I apologize that this question is so similar to "How can you check for a #hash in a URL using JavaScript?" but would appreciate your help with the following. I would like to use Javascript to display text that is a) identified by an anchor. b) contained within 2 collapsed DIVs....ONLY WHEN the anchor is in the URL. Otherwise, the page should display with all DIVs collapsed. Something like this: if (theHashIsABC) { Expand 2 DIVs on the page and go to the anchor; } else { just display the page; } Specifics: 1. Using IE7 2. DIVs ids to be expanded '8589' and '6212' out of several DIVs on the page 3. Anchor name is anchorABC I have been told that it is not possible to expand some DIVs in IE7 so I am thinking I need to expand all DIVs on the page. • How do I disable aalert beeps

  My HP pavilion laptop is getting pretty old and the speakers no longer work properly. So I've disabled all audio devices, including disabling the light-touch volume controls at boot-up. The one sound still here that I can't get rid of is teh alert beep whenever there's an error. It's annoying at the best of times, but when your laptop has no other sounds at all it's intensly irritating! Nothing I chaneg in the windows settings or in the BIOS seems to have any effect. Any ideas how to switch them off?

• VBScript: Disable caching of response from server to HTTP GET URL request

  I want to turn off the cache used when a URL call to a server is made from VBScript running within an application on a Windows machine. What function/method/object do I use to do this? When the call is made for the first time, my Linux based Apache server returns a response back from the CGI Perl script that it is running. However, subsequent runs of the script seem to be using the same response as for the first time, so the data is being cached somewhere. My server logs confirm that the server is not being called in those subsequent times, only in the first time. This is what I am doing. • Ubuntu 9.10 is not starting on netbook

  I installed Ubuntu 9.10 onto my external hard drive cause it's cool to be able to borrow a friend's laptop and be able to have my entire system. It works on the 2 systems i tested it on: my desktop and my mom's laptop. I had to work on something earlier so i borrowed my friend's netbook. I started it up, chose Ubuntu 9.10.20 and it got to the Ubuntu loading screen with the 3 people holding hands right before user selection then it suddenly went black. Naturally, i freaked out because it wasn't my laptop. I held the power button down and reset the netbook but the screen was still black, it didn't even show the BIOS. I repeated the process without my hard drive, and it was still black without the BIOS showing up. I had to remove the battery, plug it to a power source, and power up to start the netbook up again. Can anyone tell me what happened?

• Debian date jumping, causing complete lockup

  I have a Debian Squeeze VM that has suddenly chosen to jump it's date forwards just over a month, which seems to confuse it no end and cause it to require a hard reset (yikes!). There is nothing unusual in the logs, except that the datestamp suddenly jumps (today back to 2005). It's happened three times, so I don't think it's to do with the leap second issue as the last one of those was in July. When it happened once I spent ages checking stuff but could not find anything, decided to forget it. But three times is becoming an issue on a production server. • ASP.NET MVC: How to create a usable UrlHelper instance?

  I am using quartz.net to schedule regular events within asp.net mvc application. The scheduled job should call a service layer script that requires a UrlHelper instance (for creating Urls based on correct routes (via urlHelper.Action(..)) contained in emails that will be sent by the service). I do not want to hardcode the links into the emails - they should be resolved using the urlhelper. The job: public class EvaluateRequestsJob : Quartz.IJob { public void Execute(JobExecutionContext context) { // where to get a usable urlHelper instance? ServiceFactory.GetRequestService(urlHelper).RunEvaluation(); } } Please note that this is not run within the MVC pipeline. There is no current request being served, the code is run by the Quartz scheduler at defined times. How do I get a UrlHelper instance usable on the indicated place? If it is not possible to construct a UrlHelper, the other option I see is to make the job "self-call" a controller action by doing a HTTP request - while executing the action I will of course have a UrlHelper instance available - but this seems a little bit hacky to me.

• Is there a way to change the date format used when InfoPath saves the form data to xml?

  I have an InfoPath Form template that has some Date Picker controls in it bound to elements in an xml data source. I know I can change the display format of the date by going into the Date Picker Properties and setting the date format. This foramt is only used for display puposes when the form is being filled out. When the form is saved as an xml file the date is always stored in the format YYYY-MM-DD. Is there a way to change the date format that gets serialized to xml? I'm using InfoPath 2007.

• How do I diagnose a HP Notebook which has hardware issues?

  My HP DV6t-2300 recently crashed while using FLV Player. It wouldn't start up after this so I had to do a hardware reset (remove power sources, hold down power button ~15 seconds, put back power sources). After this it would turn on, but start up would freeze in Ubuntu, Windows 7, Ubuntu Recovery Mode, and various Linux Live CDs. The only successful way to boot was in Windows 7 Safe Mode. The HP Customer Service was very polite, but they are trying to blame it on a corrupt operating system which is clearly not the case (since I have tried 4 operating systems and none work). I am thinking it might be the GPU since 1) I was watching movies when it crashed and 2) Windows Safe Mode might not use the dedicated GPU. I already ran Memory and HDD tests and there were no detected errors. Any ideas of what's wrong, or suggestions for tests that I should run in safe mode? Should I try reinstalling Windows 7 to convince HP that it's not the OS?

• A different interface for the Sql Server Reporting Service?

  I have a SQL Server 2005 SQL Reporting Services implementation. It seems that the only way to actually access the reports is for the users to use Internet Explorer. The web page uses an ActiveX control to do its printing (and probably other functions as well). Does SSRS have a different way to access its functionality via the web browser? Like maybe Java or HTML based? If so, how do I actually turn it on? The reason I am asking is because the security is being tightened and ActiveX controls will be banished, thus the users won't be able to print.

• How to deploy SQL Reporting 2005 when Data Sources are locked?

  The DBAs here maintain all SQL Server and SQL Reporting servers. I have a custom developed SQL Reporting 2005 project in Visual Studio that runs fine on my local SQL Database and Reporting instances. I need to deploy to a production server, so I had a folder created on a SQL Reporting 2005 server with permissions to upload files. Normally, a deploy from within Visual Studio is all that is needed to upload the report files. However, for security purposes, data sources are maintained explicitly by DBAs and stored in a separated locked down common folder on the reporting server. I had them create the data source for me. When I attempt to deploy from VS, it gives me the error "The item '/Data Sources' already exists." I get this whether I'm deploying the whole project or just a single report file. I already set OverwriteDataSources=false in the project properties. The TargetServer URL and folder are verified correct. I suppose I could copy the files manually, but I'd like to be able to deploy from within VS. What could I be doing wrong?

• Where can I find logs for SFTP?

  I'm trying to set up sftp-server but the client is getting an error, Connection closed by server with exitcode 1 /var/log/auth.log (below) doesn't help much, how can I find out what the error is? Request for subsystem 'sftp' failed on channel 0 Couldn't read packet: Connection reset by peer Everything I've found on the net suggests this id a problem with sftp-server but when I remove the chroot from sshd config I can access the system. I assume this means sftp-server is accessible and set up correctly.

• Option do not show schema names in SQL Server Management Studio

  I love the fact that tree and list controls in Windows allows incremental searches. Just select a starting point, and type, and the control will select the best matching node for you. This works in SSMS, but there's an annoying problem, especially so in the table node. SSMS prefixes all table names with the schema name and a dot. To make an incremental search here, I have to type 'dbo.', followed by whatever I'm searching for. Is there an option to turn off this table name representation in SSMS? I hope I'm asking this on the right stack exchange site. If you feel it's off base, let me know!

• Windows 7 Wireless Network Adapter Stopped Working

  I have a Windows 7 Ultimate machine where the wireless adapter all of a sudden started having trouble connecting to wireless networks. Whenever I go to a new place and try to connect to a wireless network, it says that the DNS server is not responding, and tells me to go unplug the router and try again. After several locations in a row telling me this, I began to realize something was wrong with my adapter, not the routers. I am no longer asked to identify the security level for any new networks (Work, Home, or Public) like I used to be (it defaults to Public now - with the park bench icon). Often, resetting the router doesn't even work. Running the Windows 7 troubleshooter doesn't give me anything better than the advice to reset the router. However, the adapter will still connect to the wireless network at my main office without any problems. Does anyone know why a wireless network adapter can get so finicky so suddenly? Thanks!

• Properties vs. Fields: Need help grasping the uses of Properties over Fields.

  First off, I have read through a list of postings on this topic and I don't feel I have grasped properties because of what I had come to understand about encapsulation and field modifiers (private, public..ect). One of the main aspects of C# that I have come to learn is the importance of data protection within your code by the use of encapsulation. I 'thought' I understood that to be because of the ability of the use of the modifiers (private, public, internal, protected). However, after learning about properties I am sort of torn in understanding not only properties uses, but the overall importance/ability of data protection (what I understood as encapsulation) within C#. To be more specific, everything I have read when I got to properties in C# is that you should try to use them in place of fields when you can because of: 1) they allow you to change the data type when you can't when directly accessing the field directly. 2) they add a level of protection to data access However, from what I 'thought' I had come to know about the use of field modifiers did #2, it seemed to me that properties just generated additional code unless you had some reason to change the type (#1) - because you are (more or less) creating hidden methods to access fields as opposed to directly. Then there is the whole modifiers being able to be added to Properties which further complicates my understanding for the need of properties to access data. I have read a number of chapters from different writers on "properties" and none have really explained a good understanding of properties vs. fields vs. encapsulation (and good programming methods). Can someone explain: 1) why I would want to use properties instead of fields (especially when it appears I am just adding additional code 2) any tips on recognizing the use of properties and not seeing them as simply methods (with the exception of the get;set being apparent) when tracing other peoples code? 3) Any general rules of thumb when it comes to good programming methods in relation to when to use what?   I am running a Debian virtual server with Apache, PHP, MySQL. There is just 1 website with very low traffic running but the server very often (almost everyday) freezes and does not respond. When this happens the server is unreachable from web browser or by SSH and I have to go to administration of my provider and perform server hard reset after this the server seems to work fine. • Ubuntu 10.04: unable to login after fresh install

  Hello All, I,ve just installed a fresh copy of Ubunutu 10.04, downloaded a couple of days ago. The installation seemed to go fine. However I can't log in: the login screen just seems to reset and asks me for my password again. It's not an authentication / incorrect password issue. If I stick in a wrong password, I get "Authentication failure". I've googled around, others report the same issue on the Ubuntu forums, but there doesn't seem to be a fix. Does anyone know of a work around or what the problem is? Have 9.10, I might end up just installing that instead. THanks

• make IIS 7.5 cache static content files over diferent pages

  On a Windows 2008 R2, using DNS and IIS I've established my development test server; i.e. I'll have a web application that I can browse on http://test.dev I've moved all the static content files like images, js files and css files into another application which is visible on http://cdn.test.dev test.dev, uses cdn.test.dev urls like http://cdn.test.dev/js/jquery.js to load js, css and images. When I first load "~/" of test.dev, all files will load with a response code of 200; when I press F5 in Firefox, all files, except the "~/default.aspx", will load with 304 response code; but pressing Ctrl+F5 loads them again with a 200 code; if I browse another url like "~/pages/" in test.dev, all of those static files will reload with a 200 code... Is this normal or I'm doing something wrong? Actually, I'm looking for a behavior like this: I want the client to load http://cdn.test.dev/js/jquery.js, only once. I want the client's browser to use this jquery.js file, from cache, in all other pages of test.dev Is this possible?
