Oracle's Master Data Management suite has seen remarkable development progress in the past year and a half. Leveraging out-of-the-box integration to applications provided by Application Integration Architecture, the cost, risk and time it takes to implement an MDM solution has been cut in half. Oracle Applications are now 'MDM Aware', Data Quality tools have reached state-of-the-art status, and new hubs are coming on line. In this AppsCast, Pascal Laik, VP MDM Products discusses this progress, what it means for Oracle customers, and where we are going from here.
I have a webiste with a .com domain that is a year old.
The business is a shop based in Ireland and I have purchased a .ie domain.
I plan to move the website over to the new domain, SEO Good or Bad idea?
Old Url - SmythsOfTerenure.com |
New Url - SmythsComputerRepair.ie
(I am using Fake names and fictional business in the example Url's)
The new domain has my main keyword in it.
The old domain has my family name and business location (city district)
It currently ranks high for lots of relevant keywords in Google with low traffic and low competition.
Current website traffic is about 80 session per week.
80% of that traffic is Organic from Google.
I am changing domain in an attempt to help SEO long term by having a CC TLD (.ie rather than .com) and having my main Keyword in the domain.
I plan to do 301 re-directs from old to new and update GW Tools and G Analytics but am I making a mistake changing it at all as I know rankings may fall in the sort term.
Homepage PR=0 and very few inbound links.
Should I just leave it on the old domain?
Or after a few months should I be back up ranking as well as I am now?
In my last question i asked how to best send a string from one view controller to another, both which were on a navigation stack:
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2898860/pass-string-from-tableviewcontroller-to-viewcontroller-in-navigation-stack
However I just realised I can either pass the path to the file in the app's document's folder as the first (the table view) has already accessed the data in the file should I pass viewcontroller the data to the pushed VC?
Keywords is the concept at the base of search engines, and of big part of the internet and the global online business. Everyday millions of persons using the internet connect to a search engine in order to search any possible topic, and to get specific results they enter keywords and key phrases about.
I have a data.frame:
df<-data.frame(a=c("x","x","y","y"),b=c(1,2,3,4))
> df
a b
1 x 1
2 x 2
3 y 3
4 y 4
What's the easiest way to print out each pair of values as a list of strings like this:
"x1", "x2", "y1", "y2"

I know that you can grant authorization permissions to Google AdSense so that it can 'log in' and see what other logged in users can see (e.g. in a private forum), so that the ads it displays are better targetted.
Extending this principle further: I am making a site which will show completely different content for each individual user (i.e. not 'common' content like a forum in which everybody sees essentially the same thing). You could think of this content as similar to the way each Facebook user has a different news feed, but it is the 'same' page.
Complicating things further, the URLs for this site will be simple, e.g. '/home' and '/somepage', and will not usually include unique identifiers to differentiate between users (e.g. '/home?user=32i42').
My questions are:
Is creating an account purely for AdSense to log in to the site with worth it in this case, seeing as it will be seeing it's own 'personalized' version and not any other user's?
More importantly: is that against the Google AdSense Terms of Service? (I can't seem to figure that one out)
How would you go about this problem?
I have this problem. After relaunching my site: http://www.kgstiles.com, traffic dropped immensely(about 60%). After troubleshooting for a week and a half - losing thousands of dollars off of lost traffic in the process, I found that Google was getting a 404 error at the end of many of my 301 redirects(so it wouldn't index the new pages). Most of of the pages, though, would register in my browser. They registered as a 404 error in Google's index as well as a 404checker. So my first question is: could this be what's causing my loss of traffic? and second: how do I fix it?
I'm desperate! Any help is appreciated!

I've noticed that dev_appserver inbound mail tab now encodes the email body to base64. Why the change? How can I detect what the encoding of the message is?
I have a clothing website where I link to various clothing retailers. I have reached an agreement with one of the retailers whereby they will pay a commission to us for every sale they make from traffic that was referred by our site. I need a mechanism for tracking how much commission should be paid to us, that involves as little work as possible to implement from their side.
We both have Google Analytics.
Option 1: They record a goal in their GA account whenever someone makes a purchase on their site. They see how many completed goals are marked as referral traffic from our site and calculate commission accordingly. The problem with this is that the whole process of calculating and paying commission will be manual. They will need to frequently check how many sales were generated by referral traffic from our site, and probably we will have to chase them for commission payments. Also - since we won't have access to their GA data - we will need to trust that they report all sales accurately.
Option 2: Sign them up to an affiliate network like Commission Junction or Google's Affiliate Network, and connect to them through this network. The problem with this solution is that it seems too heavyweight; ideally we don't want to ask a retailer to go through the whole sign up process just to deal with us and pay us commission.
I am assuming that there must be some lightweight service that tracks the number of sales by one site and pays commission accordingly to the other site, where the sign up and installation procedure is simple and fast.

Learn the basics of how keywords help you rank high in the search engines. Implementing the proper keywords into your websites, blogs and other web 2.0 strategies can generate a ton of free traffic.
High PR links are the "superweapons" of search engine optimization because they can determine if your site ranks on the first page or last. Links from sites that have PR2-9 are some of the best ways that you can boost your rankings, but are some of the most difficult to get. Here's where you can get them from...
Dear all,
I want to integrate facebook api in my webapplication ,from where i can login a user ,gets his online friends ,sends notification messages,logout a user.plese suggesting which api to usein java.
Hey all,
I'm using the Twitter API (via TweetSharp) and was wondering if it's possible to automatically refresh the page from the API so that all users see the update? If so, is it also possible to take it one step further by only have a partial page update so only the relevant change is updated instead of the entire page?
Thanks for any help
I'm in the process of designing an application that is part of a larger piece of work, depending on other people to build an API that the app can make use of to retrieve data.
While I was thinking about how to setup this project and design the architecture around it, something occurred to me, and I'm sure many people have been in similar situations.
Since my work is depending on other people to complete their tasks, and a test server, this slows work down at my end.
So the question is:
What's the best practice for creating test repositories and classes, implementing them, and not having to depend on altering several places in the code to swap between the test classes and the actual repositories / proper api calls.
Contemplate the following scenario:
GetDataFromApiCommand *getDataCommand = [[GetDataFromApiCommand alloc]init];
getDataCommand.delegate = self;
[getDataCommand getData];
Once the data is available via the API, "GetDataFromApiCommand" could use the actual API, but until then a set of mock data could be returned upon the call of [getDataCommand getData]
There might be multiple instances of this, in various places in the code, so replacing all of them wherever they are, is a slow and painful process which inevitably leads to one or two being overlooked.
In strongly typed languages we could use dependency injection and just alter one place.
In objective-c a factory pattern could be implemented, but is that the best route to go for this?
GetDataFromApiCommand *getDataCommand = [GetDataFromApiCommandFactory buildGetDataFromApiCommand];
getDataCommand.delegate = self;
[getDataCommand getData];
What is the best practices to achieve this result?
Since this would be most useful, even if you have the actual API available, to run tests, or work off-line, the ApiCommands would not necessarily have to be replaced permanently, but the option to select "Do I want to use TestApiCommand or ApiCommand".
It is more interesting to have the option to switch between:
All commands are test
and
All command use the live API,
rather than selecting them one by one, however that would also be useful to do for testing one or two actual API commands, mixing them with test data.
EDIT
The way I have chosen to go with this is to use the factory pattern.
I set up the factory as follows:
@implementation ApiCommandFactory
+ (ApiCommand *)newApiCommand
{
// return [[ApiCommand alloc]init];
return [[ApiCommandMock alloc]init];
}
@end
And anywhere I want to use the ApiCommand class:
GetDataFromApiCommand *getDataCommand = [ApiCommandFactory newApiCommand];
When the actual API call is required, the comments can be removed and the mock can be commented out.
Using new in the message name implies that who ever uses the factory to get an object, is responsible for releasing it (since we want to avoid autorelease on the iPhone).
If additional parameters are required, the factory needs to take these into consideration
i.e:
[ApiCommandFactory newSecondApiCommand:@"param1"];
This will work quite well with repositories as well.
My client wants to standardize address information for existing and future addresses collected for their customers, particularly the street suffixes. The application used to enter and collect address information has the street suffix separated from the address field, but it is a textbox instead of a drop down list therefore things are not standardized. I know there are some options out there to standarize data, but they would like a less expensive alternative. Are there any functions in SQL Server that I can use to standardized data?
States are passing more and more data security laws, the US Senate and the House have bills meandering through Congress, securing personal information and encrypting that data is no longer optional.
