  • CE 5.0 with 3G Usb Stick

    I'm new to CE programming and I have a Marvel device PXA270 with Windows CE 5.0 installed. The device has one usb port. I wonder if there's ANYTHING I can try to connect a 3G-HDSPA usb stick to it. When plugged it only recognises its folders as a pendrive would do, but no Internet. Thx.

  • lock-free memory reclamation with 64bit pointers

    Herlihy and Shavit's book (The Art of Multiprocessor Programming) solution to memory reclamation uses Java's AtomicStampedReference<T>;. To write one in C++ for the x86_64 I imagine requires at least a 12 byte swap operation - 8 for a 64bit pointer and 4 for the int. Is there x86 hardware support for this and if not, any pointers on how to do wait-free memory reclamation without it?

  • Can't get 1440x900 resolution with GRUB2 although vbeinfo says it's available

    I'm trying to use GRUB2 in graphical mode with 1440x900 resolution, but the result is always garbled nonsense: the highest resolution I can get is 1280x800. Word is from googling that long as vbeinfo lists a resolution, GRUB2 can use it. This doesn't seem to be true: vbeinfo says that 1440x900 is available but it doesn't work. Testing it from the GRUB2 command line: set gxfmode=1440x900 terminal_output gfxterm # -> garbled nonsense # back to trusty 640x480 terminal_output console The graphics card is an Intel GM965. Once linux boots the framebuffer switches to 1440x900. Added after epheminent's reply and various experiments vbeinfo lists two sets of modes. The first set runs from 0x160 to 0x16b, with resolutions 768x480, 960x600, 1280x800 and 1440x900 Then - after a bunch of text-only modes - the second set, containing resolutions 1024x768, 800x600, and 640x480 The first set of modes aren't altered by 915resolution. They all work except 1440x900. The resolution of modes in the second set can be altered using the 915resolution module / command available in GRUB2 = 1.99. # in /boot/grub/grub.cfg insmod 915resolution # 30, 32, 34 all work for me: all that varies is which modes are altered 915resolution 30 1440 900 # setting an impossible resolution changes the mode to "text-only" # in my case 1280x1024 is not supported 915resolution 30 1280 1024 Clearly, 1440x900 should just work: adding it with 915resolution is just a workaround.

  • How Do I Setup the Notepad++ Run Command for Ruby?

    I'm trying to setup the Notepad++ IDE so that when I press F6 the Ruby script I'm editing will run. After searching the internet I've found that putting [cmd /K ruby "$(FULL_CURRENT_PATH)"] without the brackets into the run dialogue box that pops up when I press F5 will run basic scripts in the Command Prompt (I'm using Windows 7). However, if my code loads any external data such as .txt files, or as I've found with Gosu, loads any image files, Ruby complains that things do not exist which do in fact exist. I know my code and Ruby installation (Ruby 1.9.3) are fine because prior to now I've been using FreeRIDE, an older, somewhat buggy IDE that I've grown tired of, and my code runs fine when I press F5 using that IDE.   • Changing keyboard layout on application focus

    Hi Everyone As everybody knows the en-US Keyboard-layout is the best one for programming. So I'd like to use it in my IDEs. But since I live in a non-en-US country I need the de-CH layout for all other applications. Now I wonder if it is possible to set the layout depending to which application currently has the focus.   • What is my BaseDN supposed to be with the following configuration of OpenLDAP?

    I have the following in my OpenLDAP configuration. Using the latest version OpenLDAP on Centos 5.3. Installed using yum. From my /etc/openldap/slapd.conf database bdb suffix "dc=company,dc=com" rootdn "cn=Manager,dc=company,dc=com" From my /etc/openldap/ldap.conf BASE dc=company,dc=com I have successfully added an entry with ldapadd and retrieved it with ldapsearch from a local bash shell on the box. Now I am trying to get a Graphical Editor to connect to this server remotely so I can enter people from my laptop. But I am having no luck. I tried JXplorer, and it connects with Anonymous bind without me having to specify a BaseDN but I can't edit anything that way. If I try and give it a user name and password, using Manager and my rootpw I have in clear text just for testing, every GUI Client on my remote laptop complains about my BaseDN not being the correct format when I enter dc=company,dc=com and I tried cn=Manager,dc=company,dc=com. Error opening connection: [LDAP: error code 34 - invalid DN] I have tried multiple clients and all of them connect as anonymous, none let me connect authenticated where I can actually create or edit anything. I am using Manager as my username and the password from rootpw, is that correct?

  • LMDE detects a wireless card, but can't use it

    LMDE can see my wireless card, and correctly identifies it, but it refuses to let me turn it on through the shiny graphical interface. Is there a way to use the non-shiny terminal to turn on my wireless? One small tidbit I noticed was the stated version; it says the version is 00. I believe that's hexadecimal for 0, which may indicate something screwy with the software.   • Unable to display google maps in a dojo layout

Both alone are fine but when I try to implement a Google Map into a Dojo content pane which is embedded in a border-container it simply does not work.     Im trying to make a program that captures a video from the webcam and sound from the microphone but im getting stuck at the part where ive try to make a movie out of still images ive heard you need to use directshow but it doesnt jet work for me Does someone know a good piece of example code that captures video and sound and can encode it to a file (divx or something like that) ? or some suggestions where to look so i can build it myself (if a other programming language is better for this im happy to know it early. )
