  • Ember nested route. Load more models

    - by user3568719
    JsBin http://jsbin.com/EveQOke/153/ I know how to load more then one model to a route, using Ember.RSVP.hash. (see Jsbin Children menu). I use dynamic part to access one elem from a collection children/1. But i cant load more models to a nested resource. In my example i want to populate all the toys for a select, not just list the toys of the child. I have tried to access the model of the route children App.ChildRoute = Ember.Route.extend({ model: function(param){ return Ember.RSVP.hash({ allToys: this.modelFor("children"), child:this.store.find('child', param.child_id) }); } }); and use its model's toy property (since there have already loaded all of the toys) child.hbs <h4>All avaiable toys</h4> <table> {{#each toy in model.allToys.toys}} <tr> <td>{{toy.name}}</td> </tr> {{/each}} </table>

  • Rails: generating URLs for actions in JSON response

    - by Chris Butler
    In a view I am generating an HTML canvas of figures based on model data in an app. In the view I am preloading JSON model data in the page like this (to avoid an initial request back): <script type="text/javascript" charset="utf-8"> <% ActiveRecord::Base.include_root_in_json = false -%> var objects = <%= @objects.to_json(:include => :other_objects) %>; ... Based on mouse (or touch) interaction I want to redirect to other parts of my app that are model specific (such as view, edit, delete, etc.). Rather than hard code the URLs in my JavaScript I want to generate them from Rails (which means it always adapts the latest routes). It seems like I have one of three options: Add an empty attr to the model that the controller fills in with the appropriate URL (we don't want to use routes in the model) before the JSON is generated Generate custom JSON where I add the different URLs manually Generate the URL as a template from Rails and replace the IDs in JavaScript as appropriate I am starting to lean towards #1 for ease of implementation and maintainability. Are there any other options that I am missing? Is #1 not the best? Thanks! Chris

  • Weird Rails URL issue when rendering a new action

    - by Tony
    I am rendering a new action but somehow getting the "index" URL. To be more specific, my create action looks like this: class ListingsController < ApplicationController def create @listing = Listing.new(params[:listing]) @listing.user = @current_user if @listing.save redirect_to @listing else flash[:error] = "There were errors" render :action => "new" end end end When there are errors, I get the "new" action but my URL is the index URL - http://domain.com/listings Anyone know why this would happen? My routes file is fairly standard: map.connect 'listings/send_message', :controller => 'listings', :action => 'send_message' map.resources :listings map.root :controller => "listings" map.connect ':controller/:action/:id' map.connect ':controller/:action/:id.:format'

  • Where are the menu,header,footer loaded in an MVC structures

    - by Saif Bechan
    I am creating an framework in PHP, and i am using and MVC structure. My link look something like this: mydomain.com/controller/action So this link loads a controller, which loads the needed action. Now my page needs a header, footer, and it has a menu which is in the database. Where do i load all these things. Is this the job of the controller, or the job of the model.

  • rails named_scope issue with eager loading

    - by Craig
    Two models (Rails 2.3.8): User; username & disabled properties; User has_one :profile Profile; full_name & hidden properties I am trying to create a named_scope that eliminate the disabled=1 and hidden=1 User-Profiles. Moreover, while the User model is usually used in conjunction with the Profile model, I would like the flexibility to be able specify this using the :include = :profile syntax. I have the following User named_scope: named_scope :visible, { :joins => "INNER JOIN profiles ON users.id=profiles.user_id", :conditions => ["users.disabled = ? AND profiles.hidden = ?", false, false] } This works as expected when just reference the User model: >> User.visible.map(&:username).flatten => ["user a", "user b", "user c", "user d"] However, when I attempt to include the Profile model: User.visible(:include=> :profiles).profile.map(&:full_name).flatten I get an error that reads: NoMethodError: undefined method `profile' for #<User:0x1030bc828> Am I able to cross model-collection boundaries in this manner?

  • How can I create XSD files from M documents?

    - by Andrew Matthews
    Does anyone know of a nice way to: produce XSD documents from an OSLO model consume conformant XML documents using that model and add directly into the DB created from the model? I can't see any obvious way from the current documentation, but I'm a newcomer, so I may have missed something. Thanks.

  • ViewController has wrong orientation after Landscape-only has been popped

    - by noroom
    In a navigation-based app, LandscapeViewController only supports landscape mode (all others support both modes). I also have a "loading screen" that advises the user to rotate the phone before continuing. This way I can make sure that when my landscape view loads, that it's in landscape mode. The problem comes when i rotate the phone to portrait mode while still showing LandscapeVC. I press the Back nagivation button to navigate up one level (to a VC that supports both landscape and portrait modes), but the upper level shows in landscape mode even though the phone is in portrait mode. I guess this is because when I left this view I was in portrait mode, I then rotated the phone while in another view, so this view has not received the notification. If I then proceed to rotate the phone to the other landscape mode (say the LandscapeVC was loaded on its right side, so I'd rotate the upper VC from portrait to the left landscape mode), it will update. My question is: how can I notify this upper view that the phone was rotated, so when the user goes up after putting the phone in portrait mode, the upper view shows correctly?

  • nHibernate: limit the result set of a mapped collection

    - by HeavyWave
    How do you limit the result set of a mapped collection in nHibernate? For instance: Model.Items; will always return all the Items for the given Model. Is there any way to force it to return only, say, 20 Items without creating a specific query ? Something like Model.Items.SetMaxResults(20); In other words, I would like nHibernate to return IQueryable instead of a simple IList, when I access a collection.

  • Embedded Record is not getting loaded in Ember.js

    - by Venky
    Following is the JSON data I am trying to load using ember-data: { "product" : [ { "id" : 1, "name" : "product1", "master" : { "id" : 1, "name" : "product1", "images" : [ { "id" : 1, "productUrl" : "/images/product1_1.jpg" }, { "id" : 2, "productUrl" : "/images/product1_2.jpg" } ] } }, { "id" : 2, "name" : "product2", "master" : { "id" : 2, "name" : "product2", "images" : [ { "id" : 3, "productUrl" : "/images/product2_1.jpg" }, { "id" : 4, "productUrl" : "/images/product2_2.jpg" } ] } } ] } The models are as follows: App.Product = DS.Model.extend name: DS.attr('string') description: DS.attr('string') master: DS.belongsTo('master') App.Master = DS.Model.extend images: DS.hasMany('image') App.Image = DS.Model.extend productUrl: DS.attr('string') The Application Serializer code is as follows: App.ApplicationSerializer = DS.ActiveModelSerializer.extend(DS.EmbeddedRecordsMixin, attrs: { images: { embedded : 'always' } master: { embedded : 'always' } } ) The problem is that the "master" model records are being returned empty. I am not sure, where I am going wrong. I am using the following platform configuration: ember-source (1.4.0) ember-data-source (1.0.0.beta.7) ember-rails (0.15.0) Rails (4.1.0) Thanks

    I am building a simple web applications with 3 layers - DAO, Service, MVC. When in my Controller I want to delete menu group and it contains menus I am getting ConstraintViolationException. Where should I handle this exception? In DAO, Service, or in Controller? Currently I am handling the exception in Controller. My code below. DAO method for deleting menu groups: @Override public void delete(E e){ if (e == null){ throw new DaoException("Entity can't be null."); } getCurrentSession().delete(e); } Service method for deleting menu groups: @Override @Transactional(readOnly = false) public void delete(MenuGroupEntity menuGroupEntity) { menuGroupDao.delete(menuGroupEntity); } Controller method for deleting menu groups in Controller: @RequestMapping(value = "/{menuGroupId}/delete", method = RequestMethod.GET) public ModelAndView delete(@PathVariable Long menuGroupId, RedirectAttributes redirectAttributes){ MenuGroupEntity menuGroupEntity = menuGroupService.find(menuGroupId); if (menuGroupEntity != null){ try { menuGroupService.delete(menuGroupEntity); redirectAttributes.addFlashAttribute("flashMessage", "admin.menu-group-deleted"); redirectAttributes.addFlashAttribute("flashMessageType", "success"); } catch (Exception e){ redirectAttributes.addFlashAttribute("flashMessage", "admin.menu-group-could-not-be-deleted"); redirectAttributes.addFlashAttribute("flashMessageType", "danger"); } } return new ModelAndView("redirect:/admin/menu-group"); }

  • Using C# Type as generic

    - by I Clark
    I'm trying to create a generic list from a specific Type that is retrieved from elsewhere: Type listType; // Passed in to function, could be anything var list = _service.GetAll<listType>(); However I get a build error of: The type or namespace name 'listType' could not be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?) Is this even possible or am I setting foot onto C# 4 Dynamic territory? As a background: I want to automatically load all lists with data from the repository. The code below get's passed a Form Model whose properties are iterated for any IEnum (where T inherits from DomainEntity). I want to fill the list with objects of the Type the list made of from the repository. public void LoadLists(object model) { foreach (var property in model.GetType() .GetProperties(BindingFlags.Public | BindingFlags.Instance | BindingFlags.SetProperty)) { if (IsEnumerableOfNssEntities(property.PropertyType)) { var listType = property.PropertyType.GetGenericArguments()[0]; var list = _repository.Query<listType>().ToList(); property.SetValue(model, list, null); } } }

  • ASP.NET MVC 3 embrace dynamic type - CSDN.NET - CSDN Software Development Channel

    - by user559071
    About a decade ago, Microsoft will all bet on the WebForms and static types. With the complete package from scattered to the continuous development, and now almost every page can be viewed as its own procedure. Subsequent years, the industry continued to move in another direction, love is better than separation package, better than the late binding early binding to the idea. This leads to two very interesting questions. The first is the problem of terminology. Consider the original Smalltalk MVC model, view and controller is not only tightly coupled together, and usually in pairs. Most of the framework is that Microsoft, including the classic VB, WinForms, WebForms, WPF and Silverlight, they both use the code behind file to store the controller logic. But said "MVC" usually refers to the view and controller are loosely coupled framework. This is especially true for the Web framework, HTML form submission mechanism allows any views submitted to any of the controller. Since this article was mainly talking about Web technologies, so we need to use the modern definition. The second question is "If you're Microsoft, how to change orbit without causing too much pressure to the developer?" So far, the answer is: new releases each year, until the developers meet up. ASP.NET MVC's first product was released last March. Released in March this year, ASP.NET MVC 2.0. 3.0 RC 2 is currently in phase, expected to be released next March. December 10, Microsoft released ASP.NET MVC 3.0 Release Candidate 2. RC 2 is built on top of Microsoft's commitment to the jQuery: The default project template into jQuery 1.4.4, jQuery Validation 1.7 and jQuery UI. Although people think that Microsoft will focus shifted away from server-side controls to be a joke, but the introduction of Microsoft's jQuery UI is that this is the real thing. For those worried about the scalability of the developers, there are many excellent control can replace the session state. With SessionState property, you can tell the controller session state is read-only, read-write, or can be completely ignored in the. This site is no single server, but if a server needs to access another server session state, then this approach can provide a great help. MVC 3 contains Razor view engine. By default, the engine will be encoded HTML output, so that we can easily output on the screen the text of the original. HTML injection attacks even without the risk of encoded text can not easily prevent the page rendering. For many C # developers in the end do what is most shocking that MVC 3 for the controller and view and embrace the dynamic type. ViewBag property will open a dynamic object, developers can run on top of the object to add attributes. In general, it is used to send the view from the controller non-mode data. Scott Guthrie provides state of the sample contains text (such as the current time) and used to assemble the list box entries. • How can you trigger the viewWillAppear of a UITableView AFTER its UINavigationController?

    - by Troy Sartain
    I have a situation where I use a tab bar set up but with nav bar controllers on a couple tabs. Those tabs have table views on them. Everything works great, I can pick a tab and get a different table in a nav bar structure. The other tabs are non-nav controllers. Fine. I want to use the same table view controller and even the same detail screen since they are essentially the same format. I have two-dimensional arrays and a couple of vars tracking which tab and which table row so when I get to the detail it's all good. Now to the problem. It all seems to work just fine until I return to a tab that has already been visited. At that point, I do indeed get a viewWillAppear for both the view controller of that specific tab and the table view controller. However, I get the table view one first! It doesn't know which tab was tapped on; the other one does but that's too late to dynamically change the table! Any suggestions? Am I being too greedy about code duplication? I mean I could just make separate controllers for for each table view and then separate detail view controllers but I thought I had a good solution.

  • Something like a manual refresh is needed angularjs, and a $digest() iterations error

    - by Tony Ennis
    (post edited again, new comments follow this line) I'm changing the title of this posting since it was misleading - I was trying to fix a symptom. I was unable to figure out why the code was breaking with a $digest() iterations error. A plunk of my code worked fine. I was totally stuck, so I decided to make my code a little more Angular-like. One anti-pattern I had implemented was to hide my model behind my controller by adding getters/setters to the controller. I tore all that out and instead put the model into the $scope since I had read that was proper Angular. To my surprise, the $digest() iterations error went away. I do not exactly know why and I do not have the intestinal fortitude to put the old code back and figure it out. I surmise that by involving the controller in the get/put of the data I added a dependency under the hood. I do not understand it. edit #2 ends here. (post edited, see EDIT below) I was working through my first Error: 10 $digest() iterations reached. Aborting! error today. I solved it this way: <div ng-init="lineItems = ctrl.getLineItems()"> <tr ng-repeat="r in lineItems"> <td>{{r.text}}</td> <td>...</td> <td>{{r.price | currency}}</td> </tr </div> Now a new issue has arisen - the line items I'm producing can be modified by another control on the page. It's a text box for a promo code. The promo code adds a discount to the lineItem array. It would show up if I could ng-repeat over ctrl.getLineItems(). Since the ng-repeat is looking at a static variable, not the actual model, it doesn't see that the real line items have changed and thus the promotional discount doesn't get displayed until I refresh the browser. Here's the HTML for the promo code: <input type="text" name="promo" ng-model="ctrl.promoCode"/> <button ng-click="ctrl.applyPromoCode()">apply promo code</button> The input tag is writing the value to the model. The bg-click in the button is invoking a function that will apply the code. This could change the data behind the lineItems. I have been advised to use $scope.apply(...). However, since this is applied as a matter of course by ng-click is isn't going to do anything. Indeed, if I add it to ctrl.applyPromoCode(), I get an error since an .apply() is already in progress. I'm at a loss. EDIT The issue above is probably the result of me fixing of symptom, not a problem. Here is the original HTML that was dying with the 10 $digest() iterations error. <table> <tr ng-repeat="r in ctrl.getLineItems()"> <td>{{r.text}}</td> <td>...</td> <td>{{r.price | currency}}</td> </tr> </table> The ctrl.getLineItems() function doesn't do much but invoke a model. I decided to keep the model out of the HTML as much as I could. this.getLineItems = function() { var total = 0; this.lineItems = []; this.lineItems.push({text:"Your quilt will be "+sizes[this.size].block_size+" squares", price:sizes[this.size].price}); total = sizes[this.size].price; this.lineItems.push({text: threads[this.thread].narrative, price:threads[this.thread].price}); total = total + threads[this.thread].price; if (this.sashing) { this.lineItems.push({text:"Add sashing", price: this.getSashingPrice()}); total = total + sizes[this.size].sashing; } else { this.lineItems.push({text:"No sashing", price:0}); } if(isNaN(this.promo)) { this.lineItems.push({text:"No promo code", price:0}); } else { this.lineItems.push({text:"Promo code", price: promos[this.promo].price}); total = total + promos[this.promo].price; } this.lineItems.push({text:"Shipping", price:this.shipping}); total = total + this.shipping; this.lineItems.push({text:"Order Total", price:total}); return this.lineItems; }; And the model code assembled an array of objects based upon the items selected. I'll abbreviate the class as it croaks as long as the array has a row. function OrderModel() { this.lineItems = []; // Result of the lineItems call ... this.getLineItems = function() { var total = 0; this.lineItems = []; ... this.lineItems.push({text:"Order Total", price:total}); return this.lineItems; }; }

  • Session is Closed! NHibernate shouldn't be trying to grab data

  • Using a Context Menu to delete from a SQLite database in Android

    - by LordSnoutimus
    Hi, I have created a list view that displays the names and dates of items stored in a SQLite database, now I want to use a Context Menu to modify these items stored in the database such as edit the name, delete, and view. This is the code for the list view: public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setContentView(R.layout.listview); SQLiteDatabase myDB = null; myDB = this.openOrCreateDatabase(MY_DB_NAME, MODE_PRIVATE, null); Cursor cur = myDB.rawQuery("SELECT _id, trackname, tracktime" + " FROM " + MY_DB_TABLE, null); ListAdapter adapter = new SimpleCursorAdapter(this, R.layout.listview, cur, new String[] { Constants.TRACK_NAME, Constants.TRACK_TIME}, new int[] { R.id.text1, R.id.text2}); ListView list = (ListView)findViewById(R.id.list); list.setAdapter(adapter); registerForContextMenu(list); } and the Context Menu... public void onCreateContextMenu(ContextMenu menu, View v, ContextMenuInfo menuInfo) { super.onCreateContextMenu(menu, v, menuInfo); menu.setHeaderTitle("Track Options"); menu.add(0, CHANGE_NAME, 0, "Change name"); menu.add(0, VIEW_TRACK, 0, "View track"); menu.add(0, SEND_TRACK, 0, "Send track"); menu.add(0, DELETE_TRACK, 0, "Delete track"); } I have used a Switch statement to control the menu items.. public boolean onContextItemSelected(MenuItem item) { switch (item.getItemId()){ case CHANGE_NAME: changename(); return true; case DELETE_TRACK: deletetrack(); return true; default: return super.onContextItemSelected(item); } So how would I go ahead and map the deletetrack(); method to find the ID of the track stored in the database to the item that has been selected in the list view?

  • Rails engines extending functionality

    - by sinsiliux
    So I have an engine which defines some models and controllers. I want to be able to extend functionality of some models/controllers in my application (eg. adding methods) without loosing the original model/controller functionality from engine. Everywhere I read that you simply need to define controller with the same name in your application and Rails will automatically merge them, however it doesn't work for me and controller in engine is simply ignored (I don't think it's even loaded).

  • QTreeView memory consumption

    - by Eye of Hell
    Hello. I'm testing QTreeView functionality right now, and i was amazed by one thing. It seems that QTreeView memory consumption depends on items count O_O. This is highly unusual, since model-view containers of such type only keeps track for items being displayed, and rest of items are in the model. I have written a following code with a simple model that holds no data and just reports that it has 10 millions items. With MFC, Windows API or .NET tree / list with such model will take no memory, since it will display only 10-20 visible elements and will request model for more upon scrolling / expanding items. But with Qt, such simple model results in ~300Mb memory consumtion. Increasing number of items will increase memory consumption. Maybe anyone can hint me what i'm doing wrong? :) #include <QtGui/QApplication> #include <QTreeView> #include <QAbstractItemModel> class CModel : public QAbstractItemModel { public: QModelIndex index ( int i_nRow, int i_nCol, const QModelIndex& i_oParent = QModelIndex() ) const { return createIndex( i_nRow, i_nCol, 0 ); } public: QModelIndex parent ( const QModelIndex& i_oInex ) const { return QModelIndex(); } public: int rowCount ( const QModelIndex& i_oParent = QModelIndex() ) const { return i_oParent.isValid() ? 0 : 1000 * 1000 * 10; } public: int columnCount ( const QModelIndex& i_oParent = QModelIndex() ) const { return 1; } public: QVariant data ( const QModelIndex& i_oIndex, int i_nRole = Qt::DisplayRole ) const { return Qt::DisplayRole == i_nRole ? QVariant( "1" ) : QVariant(); } }; int main(int argc, char *argv[]) { QApplication a(argc, argv); QTreeView oWnd; CModel oModel; oWnd.setUniformRowHeights( true ); oWnd.setModel( & oModel ); oWnd.show(); return a.exec(); }

  • Rails 3 routing - what's best practice?

    - by Mattias
    Hi guys, I'm trying out Rails, and I've stumbled across an issue with my routing. I have a controller named "Account" (singular), which should handle various settings for the currently logged in user. class AccountController < ApplicationController def index end def settings end def email_settings end end How would I set-up the routes for this in a proper manner? At the moment I have: match 'account(/:action)', :to => 'account', :as => 'account' This however does not automagically produce methods like account_settings_path but only account_path Is there any better practice of doing this? Remember the Account controller doesn't represent a controller for an ActiveModel. If this is in fact the best practice, how would I generate links in my views for the actions? url_to :controller => :account, :action => :email_settings ? Thanks!

    I have these URLs cz/kontroler/akce en/controller/action Is used transatable route and works it like charm. But problem is, that when you will write cz/controller/akce it works as well. In generally when you have cz/something-in-czech en/something-in-english which route to someController, will be works still cz/some en/some because it is really name of controller. How solve this duplicity content issue?
