• how to pass domain name to backend with pound

  I am using pound as a way to decode SSL for the backend, but the bulk of the work is done on varnish (including virtualhost stuff). As a result, I need pound to just forward all other traffic to varnish verbatim, but it doesn't seem to do that. I am using the default configuration: ListenHTTP Address 1.2.3.4 Port 8080 ## allow PUT and DELETE also (by default only GET, POST and HEAD)?: xHTTP 0 Service BackEnd Address 127.0.0.1 Port 80 End End End So whenever I hit example.com:8080, it will always redirect to the default backend for varnish, which i assume was because the domain (host) header isn't send along. • AirPlay over unicast DNS-SD. Anyone got it working?

  We set up AirPrint using unicast DNS-SD on our campus about a year ago and it turned out to be a big success, so we're looking at trying to get AirPlay working so our faculty and students can wirelessly show content on our classroom projectors. There are still a couple of other things preventing an ideal implementation (username and password authentication, for starters), but I've been trying to set up a working demo nonetheless. Getting AirPrint working was basically just a matter of advertising the same records over a DNS-SD domain instead of the multicast (.local) one, but doing the same thing for AirPlay doesn't seem to cut it. The devices don't recognize the DNS-SD AirPlay servers as available. I've uploaded a screenshot of my DNS-SD configuration with the original (from AirServer, which works normally for multicast) here. I realize this is still a fairly new feature and documentation is lacking, but has anyone been able to get AirPlay working via DNS-SD? If it simply only works over multicast, I can accept that, but its potential is so appealing for us that I thought it'd be worth asking if anyone else has figured it out.

SSL offloading is done by apache. listen ssl_to_waf 192.168.101.54:443 mode tcp balance roundrobin option ssl-hello-chk server wafA 192.168.101.61:444 check listen ssl_from_waf 192.168.101.61:445 balance roundrobin option forwardfor server webA 192.168.101.46:80 check For HTTP requests this works great, requests are distributed to my Apache servers just fine. But for HTTPS request, I lose the "forwardfor" information. I need to save the client IP address. How can I use HAproxy to load balance across a number of SSL servers, allowing those servers to know the client's IP address?

• Postfix - How to configure to send these emails?

  I want my mailserver to send mail from my local application "from" any user supplied email address "to" my own address, say "[email protected]". The MX records for "mysite.com" actually point to a different server, even though the outgoing mainserver is running with mydomain set as "mysite.com". Perhaps this is part of the problem? postfix is currently causing a SMTPRecipientsRefused error within the python application. Can anyone point me to what to change in the configuration? • Linux Bridge, Samba netbios name/hostname access

  I am currently running a linux bridge in the following configuration ADSL Modem: 192.168.1.1 Linux Bridge: eth0: 192.168.1.2 eth1: no address Wireless Router: 192.168.0.1 My issue is that i cannot access the "Linux Bridge" shares using the WINS name of the server via client systems (yes i understand it is a transparent bridge but i can access it via the 192.168.1.2 address this is not on the same subnet as the client systems). • Windows replacement for HAProxy

  It does not appear that there is a similar question to this already posted, so I will go ahead and ask. I am working on a project that could benefit from having two - four servers handling incoming requests to a backend webservice. The service does not require SSL but does need to support occassional long running processes (upto 120 secs). This project does not at present have the funding to purchase a hardware load balancing solution. I have previously used HAProxy as a solution for this, and found it very simple and straightforward. Is there a similar product for windows (server 2003 or 2008) which provides similar configuration options and runs as a lightweight service? For reasons outside my control I cannot setup a Linux machine (physical or virtual) and so I am looking for behaviour that can be deployed on a windows machine. I can only find Perlbal which appears to fall into this category. So as not to keep this open indifenitely I will give credit to the only answer.

• Domain name is forwarding to my localhost, no idea why

  On my local development machine, I have a WAMP setup (Windows Vista Home Premium, Apache 2, MySQL and PHP 5). One of my projects is rehash.dustinfineout.com, which may be related to the problem... For some reason, when I try to visit http://www.rehash.com in a browser, it forwards automatically to 127.0.0.1 loopback/localhost. I discovered this entirely accidentally. I have already looked at the http.conf and extra/httpd-vhosts.conf Apache configuration files and these are not causing it. I also checked the windows hosts file but that had no entries in it either (C:/WINDOWS/System32/drivers/etc/hosts - maybe there is another location I need to check). Any ideas? Just to clarify, rehash.com is NOT my domain.

• Can't Start ISC DHCP IPv6 Server

  Trying to enable the ISC DHCP server for just IPv6 on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS. I have downloaded and installed the DHCP server via the following command: $ sudo apt-get install isc-dhcp-server Then I have followed the instructions in the following resources, Ubuntu Wiki DHCPv6, SixXS - Configuring ISC DHCPv6 Server and Linux IPv6 HOWTO - Configuration of the ISC DHCP server for IPv6 . So from review all those resources it seems like I need to: set a static IPv6 address for the Interface I want to run the DHCPv6 server from that is part of the IPv6 network subnet outside the DHCP range. Edit the /etc/dhcp/dhcpd6.conf file to configure the DHCPv6 range etc. Create the /var/lib/dhcp/dhcpd6.leases Manually start the DHCPv6 server. Setting the Static IP for eth0 $ sudo ifconfig eth0 inet6 add 2001:db8:0:1::128/64 My dhcpd6.conf default-lease-time 600; max-lease-time 7200; log-facility local7; subnet6 2001:db8:0:1::/64 { #Range for clients range6 2001:db8:0:1::129 2001:db8:0:1::254; } Created the dhcpd6.leases file As indicated in the dhcpd.leases man page. $ touch /var/lib/dhcp/dhcpd6.leases #Tried with sudo as well Manually starting the DHCPv6 server. Attempted to start the server using the following command: $ sudo dhcp -6 -f -cf /etc/dhcp/dhcpd6.conf eth0 The problem, the DHCP will not start, with an append error for the dhcpd6.leases file as indicated below when running the manual start command noted above. Can't open /var/lib/dhcp/dhcpd6.leases for append. Any ideas what I might be missing?

  There's something I want to do in Excel 2010. Specifically, I want to be able to make the open sheet load data from a text file, by clicking -important- on a cell of the current open worksheet. So my specific needs are: If it is possible in some way, to start a macro/script by clicking on a cell. About the script/macro: What would be the preferable, by your opinion, way of implementation. And more specifically, how to automatically import the data needed, only by clicking, without having to continually specify the desirable .txt file each time, only 1 time at max, at start or by using a custom "initalization/configuration" file.

• Nginx no static files after update

  First, i must say that i am not expert in server administration, my site was setup by hosting admins (that i cannot contact anymore). Few days ago, i updated Nginx to latest version (admin told me that it is safe to do). But after that, my site serves only html content, no CSS, images, JS. If i try to open some image i get message "Wellcome to Nginx" (same thin if i try to open static.mysitedomain.com). More details: Site has static. subdomain, but static files are in same directory as they used to be before setting up static files. I was googling for some solutions, i tried to change something in /etc/nginx/, but no luck. I feel that this is some minor configuration problem, any ideas? • Issues with DHCP over multiple subnets

  I have a cisco router configured to handle multiple subnets (10.1.10.n, 10.2.10.n, etc), and an ubuntu system serving DHCP to the computers served by the router. After a restart of the DHCP, the systems on the 10.1 subnet are fine, but neither the server or the computers configured on the other subnets can see the router at 10.2.10.1 (or 10.3.10.1, or 10.4.10.1). The router can see itself at 10.2.10.1, however. The change that caused this was restarting the server, so I'm approaching it assuming the configuration error is on that end. Is that the likely issue or is there a different problem that would prevent the machines on the 10.2.10 subnet from resolving DHCP?

• Can't change settings for Mobile Broadband Dongle - Button is greyed out

  I was with VirginBroadband.com.au (Australia). My huawai 3G Dongle was working great on Ubuntu, However I have changed ISP's. I unlocked the modem, and put in the new SIM. I have tested this in my Windows PC and it connects to the new (Optus) Network A-OK and it all works. When I put this dongle (the same one that was working fine in Ubuntu) into that same Ubuntu Netbook it simply won't connect. When I try to go into the dialog to try and add or change settings the button to change or update settings is greyed out, I can't select it. Apparently since this dongle was already recognized the Broadband Setup Wizard won't start, and I have no idea how to get it to start (presuming it has the ability to configure an already recognized dongle). What do I have to do to either enable the ability to change the configuration for this setup, or to blow away the one that is set up so the Broadband Wizard will re-start and let me configure a new one. Can anyone provide simple instructions for doing this? I'm using Ubuntu with the Cinnamon Desktop

  I am running Nginx 1.5.6 and I use the Simple Machines Forum software. Most rewrite rules seem to work properly, with the exception of the RSS feeds. In my Nginx configuration, I have the following line which is supposed to handle URLs which contain ".xml": rewrite ^/forum/(\.xml|xmlhttp)/?$ "/forum/index.php?pretty;action=$1" last; The above rule produces the following URL for the main forum, which returns a 403 Error: http://www.mydomain.com/forum/.xml/?type=rss I would like the rewrite rule to produce this type of URL, which returns code 200 (a real page): http://www.mydomain.com/forum/?type=rss;action=.xml Here is the entire block pertaining to the forum rewrites: http://pastebin.com/raw.php?i=tZkAibW3 I would really appreciate some help to create a rewrite rule to do that.   We have a Windows Server 2008 R2 with Active Directory (hereafter called DC) running as a domain controller on which we have IIS and an FTP site installed. We have a second Server 2008 (hereafter called SHARE) which is joined to that domain and has a disk shared as a network share (\\share\Office). That network share is used as the ftp's physical path on DC. We've tested the FTP from the IIS FTP configuration panel, by clicking on Basic Settings... then Test Settings.... When setting Administrator as a username with the Connect as... option, everything is fine: When no user is provided we can the below error: Q1: Could someone explain in more understandable terms what is written in the Details text area?

  In October 2011 the premier support for Sun Cluster 3.1 ended. See details in Oracle Lifetime Support Policy for Oracle and Sun System Software document. There no 'Extended Support' and the 'Sustaining Support Ends' is indefinite. But for indefinite 'Sustaining Support' I like to point out from the mentioned document (version Sept. 2011) on page 5: Sustaining Support does NOT include: * New program updates, fixes, security alerts, general maintenance releases, selected functionality releases and documentation updates or upgrade tools * Certification with most new third-party products/versions and most new Oracle products * 24 hour commitment and response guidelines for Severity 1 service requests *Previously released fixes or updates that Oracle no longer supports This means Solaris 10 9/10 update9 is the last qualified release for Sun Cluster 3.1. So, Sun Cluster 3.1 is not qualified on Solaris 10 8/11 Update10. Furthermore there is an issue around with SVM patch 145899-06 or higher. This SVM patch is part of Solaris 10 8/11 Update10. The 145899-06 is the first released patch of this number, therefore the support for Sun Cluster 3.1 ends with the previous SVM patches 144622-01 and 139967-02. For details about the known problem with SVM patch 145899-06 please refer to doc 1378828.1. Further this means you should freeze (no patching, no upgrade) your Sun Cluster 3.1 configuration not later than Solaris 10 9/10 update9. Or even better plan an upgrade to Solaris Cluster 3.3 now to get back to full support.

• How to get Unity working on dual gpu laptop?

  I recently bought a new laptop (Asus X53S series) that has two GPUs, an NVidia GeForce GT 540M and an integrated Intel GPU (I believe it's called Intel HD graphics 3000). I installed the recommended restricted NVidia drivers after a clean Ubuntu 11.10 install. In the 'additional drivers' program I get the message: "This driver is enabled and in use", although when I try to open the NVidia X Server Settings it says "You do not appear to be using the NVIDIA X driver." which seems to be the case since Ubuntu only starts using Unity 2D. I've had the same issue in 11.04 and I was forced to use the nouveau driver just to get unity working, but since I get quite a few crashes with it I really want to get the propriety driver working this time around. Since I've never had this issue with older laptops, I can only assume it is caused due to the dual gpu configuration. How do I get Ubuntu to use the propriety drivers, or is there any workaround to get the integrated Intel GPU to be ignored by Ubuntu? Alternatively, has anyone got Unity working with a similar setup?

Currently they are on an owned email server and I am collecting emails via IMAP protocol (i would not like to use POP..) in Thunderbird. I have a few partners and I want to allow them to access the same email address. Here is what I desired: All users can open All the inboxes via IMAP @ Thunderbird (with proper configuration) at the same time, there are a webmail system, every user can login their account (userA, userB, userC), and they will see all inboxes (email@domain1, email@domain2, email@domain3) Would you recommend any suite that fits my needs? Either (a system to be installed on my server) or (a remote service where I need to config MX records) will do. Thank you.

  Figured this out just last week, but I can't find it now. Even printed it out. Can't find that either. Frustrating...so...help! Configured a 'monitoring' nic on a kvm guest (running 'Security Onion, if it matters). I read (somewhere) that the default nic configuration for a kvm guest is to only pass broadcast traffic, multicast traffic, and traffic with the guest's mac as a destination. There is an option to override this behaviour, and pass all traffic. It's something like --mac-filtering=no, or --mac-restriction=no, or something like that. Worked beautifully. Does this look at all familiar to anyone who can clue me in to the exact option syntax? thx.

• Bad sound quality of 3.5mm headphone with mic on laptop

  I have a set of headphones that have a built-in mic for hands-free calling. They just work great on my Sony Ericsson Cedar cellphone. The problem is that when I connect headphone to my Dell N5010 laptop to listen to music, the quality is horrible, with very weak or no vocals. They funny part is when I hold down the talk button on the mic (headphone mic), at which point it sounds great, but goes back to bad quality as soon as I release talk button. Also, when I take out the jack a little, at some point, the sound is great but I have to hold the jack there. I looked for any configuration on the sound card driver but find nothing. Besides using a glue to hold down the talk button of mic :), is there any other solution?

• HP Officejet 6000 E609n unexpectedly goes offline

  My local library has a number of Windows Vista SP1 PCs connected to two HP Officejet 6000 E609n wireless printers. Each PC can print to either of the two printers and one of the two printers is the default on each PC. This configuration has worked well over the last year w/o any trouble. Recently, the library staff is reporting that sometimes when patrons try to print, they can't. Closer inspection shows that the the default wireless printer is offline. In order to get the printer online again, the printer has to be restarted. In Control Panel Printers applet, under the Printer menu, the "Use Printer Offline" option is grayed out and there's no way to bring the printer back online w/o restarting it. Does anyone know what's going on here?

• Exim redirect all unexisting accounts for local domains to a specific account

  I want to route all incoming emails for local domains only to a single account if an account is not setup for that user. I would also like each email to be written in it's own file in user folder. I have a catchall user with /home/catchall/ path where I have a mail folder made for this but so far emails wither fail to deliver (thus my rule did not work) or they do deliver to /etc/mail/catchall file.
