• Android HTTPClient not working inspite of giving permissions in manifest file.

Hi, I was trying http-cleint tutorials from svn.apache.org. While running the application I am getting the following error in console. [2010-04-30 09:26:36 - HalloAndroid] ActivityManager: java.lang.SecurityException: Permission Denial: starting Intent { act=android.intent.action.MAIN cat=[android.intent.category.LAUNCHER] flg=0x10000000 cmp=com.org.example/.HalloAndroid } from null (pid=-1, uid=-1) requires android.permission.INTERNET I have added android.permission.INTERNET in AndroidManifest.xml. <manifest xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" package="com.org.example" android:versionCode="1" android:versionName="1.0"> <application android:icon="@drawable/icon" android:label="@string/app_name"> <activity android:name=".HalloAndroid" android:label="@string/app_name" android:permission="android.permission.INTERNET"> <intent-filter> <action android:name="android.intent.action.MAIN" />
</intent-filter> </activity> </application> <uses-permission android:name="android.permission.INTERNET"></uses-permission> </manifest> The java code in HalloAndroid.java is as follows HttpClient httpclient = new DefaultHttpClient(); HttpGet httpget2 = new HttpGet("http://google.com/"); HttpResponse response2 = null; try { response2 = httpclient.execute(httpget2); } catch (ClientProtocolException e1) { // TODO Auto-generated catch block e1.printStackTrace(); } catch (IOException e1) { // TODO Auto-generated catch block e1.printStackTrace(); } HttpEntity entity = response2.getEntity(); if (entity != null) { long len = entity.getContentLength(); if (len != -1 && len < 2048) { try { Log.d(TAG, EntityUtils.toString(entity)); } catch (ParseException e) { // TODO Auto-generated catch block e.printStackTrace(); } catch (IOException e) { // TODO Auto-generated catch block e.printStackTrace(); } } else { // Stream content out } Any help is much appreciated.

• Is it possible to handle User Defined Exception using JAX WS Dispatch API ?

- by snowflake
Hello, I'm performing dynamic webservices call using following code snippet: JAXBContext jc = getJAXBContext(requestClass, responseClass, jaxbContextExtraClasses); Dispatch dispatch = service.createDispatch(portQName, jc, Service.Mode.PAYLOAD); Object requestValue = getRequestValue(requestClass, pOrderedParameters); JAXBElement<?> request = new JAXBElement(new QName(serviceQNameStr, pOperationName), requestValue.getClass(), null, requestValue); Object tmpResponse = dispatch.invoke(request); Invocation works perfectly, except if I add a user defined exception on the service (a basic UserException extends java.lang.Exception). First I get: javax.xml.bind.UnmarshalException: unexpected element (uri:"http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/", local:"Fault"). Expected elements are <{http://my.namespace/}myMethod,<{http://my.namespace/}myResponse Then I added the UserException_Exception JAX-WS generated type to my JAXB Context, and then get: Caused by: com.sun.xml.bind.v2.runtime.IllegalAnnotationsException: 1 counts of IllegalAnnotationExceptions java.lang.StackTraceElement does not have a no-arg default constructor. this problem is related to the following location: at java.lang.StackTraceElement at public java.lang.StackTraceElement[] java.lang.Throwable.getStackTrace() at java.lang.Throwable at java.lang.Exception Only solution available I found are: dispatch directly a Soap message and handle Soap fault directly (this is the way Jboss JAX-WS implementation performs a standard JAX-WS call using services interfaces). This is not an available solution for me, I want to use a high level implementation (the more I get close to Soap message the less dynamic my code can be) usage of JAXBRIContext.ANNOTATION_READER, which is implementation specific and not an available solution for me, in order to annotate annotates java.lang.Exception as @XmlTransient The service with a user defined exception performs well using the JAX-WS generated standard client stubs and using a tool such Soap UI. Problem occurs in deserialization of the message when I have no user defined exception artifact in the JAXB context, and during invocation when I add those non JAXB compatible artifacts in the JAXB context. I'm usign Jboss WS webservice stack within Jboss 4.2.3.GA Any elegant solution to this problem is welcomed !

• Spring-json problem in Liferay with Spring 2.5

- by Jesus Benito
Hi all, I am trying to use the library spring-json.1.3.1 in a project that has been done with Liferay 5.1.2 which includes Spring 2.5. Following the project website instructions, I managed to make the request hit in my controller, but at the moment of returning the json object back through the modelAndView object it fails with the following error: java.lang.IllegalArgumentException at com.liferay.portlet.MimeResponseImpl.setContentType(MimeResponseImpl.java:162) I have checked Liferays source code, and it checks that contentType that its being set is in a harcoded list,if it not it will throw a IllegalArgumentException that it is exactly what os happening. This is my view resolver code: <bean id="xmlFileViewResolver" class="org.springframework.web.servlet.view.XmlViewResolver"> /WEB-INF/context/views.xml 1 My views.xml code: <beans> <bean name="jsonView" class="org.springframework.web.servlet.view.json.JsonView"/> And my controller: @SuppressWarnings("unchecked") @Override public ModelAndView handleRenderRequest(RenderRequest arg0, RenderResponse arg1) throws Exception { Map model = new HashMap(); model.put("firstname", "Peter"); model.put("secondname", "Schmitt"); return new ModelAndView("jsonView", model); } Any ideas?

• WCF Message Debugging on WebHttpBehavior

- by Programming Hero
I've created a custom binding in WCF for a custom MessageEncoder to allow messages to be written as XML using a wider range of encodings than WCF supports out of the box. The encoder appears to be working and I am able to send and receive messages, but I want to verify that the XML message being written is exactly as required by the service I am trying to consume. I've turned on message logging for WCF using the diagnostic trace listeners to output the messages sent and received over the wire to a log file. Unfortunately, for calls using my encoder, the message is displayed as ... stream ... EDIT: I don't think it's anything to do with my custom encoding. I have experimented with my custom binding a little, switching to using the built-in text encoding and http transport. I still don't get a message body logged in the message trace. EDIT2: Having done further investigation, the issue looks to be related not to the custom binding, but the custom behaviour. I'm apply the <webHttp/> behaviour. Once this is specified (along with manual addressing), the tracing behaviour shows up. Is this a known issue with WebHttpBehavior? Am I still barking up the wrong tree?

• Why does my Sax Parser produce no results after using InputStream Read?

- by Andy Barlow
Hello, I have this piece of code which I'm hoping will be able to tell me how much data I have downloaded (and soon put it in a progress bar), and then parse the results through my Sax Parser. If I comment out basically everything above the //xr.parse(new InputSource(request.getInputStream())); line and swap the xr.parse's over, it works fine. But at the moment, my Sax parser tells me I have nothing. Is it something to do with is.read (buffer) section? Also, just as a note, request is a HttpURLConnection with various signatures. /*Input stream to read from our connection*/ InputStream is = request.getInputStream(); /*we make a 2 Kb buffer to accelerate the download, instead of reading the file a byte at once*/ byte [ ] buffer = new byte [ 2048 ] ; /*How many bytes do we have already downloaded*/ int totBytes, bytes, sumBytes = 0; totBytes = request.getContentLength () ; while ( true ) { /*How many bytes we got*/ bytes = is.read (buffer); /*If no more byte, we're done with the download*/ if ( bytes <= 0 ) break; sumBytes+= bytes; Log.v("XML", sumBytes + " of " + totBytes + " " + ( ( float ) sumBytes/ ( float ) totBytes ) *100 + "% done" ); } /* Parse the xml-data from our URL. */ // OLD, and works if comment all the above //xr.parse(new InputSource(request.getInputStream())); xr.parse(new InputSource(is)) /* Parsing has finished. */; Can anyone help me at all?? Kind regards, Andy

• Android customizing ViewFlipper...

- by wearysamurai
So I'm having pretty much exactly the problem described here: http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=6191 and until the ViewFlipper issue in 2.1 and 2.2 has been resolved, I'm attempting to customize my own ViewFlipper in the manner described: @Override protected void onDetachedFromWindow() { try { super.onDetachedFromWindow(); } catch (IllegalArgumentException e) { // Call stopFlipping() in order to kick off updateRunning() stopFlipping(); } } But I've never done this sort of thing before and am hoping to get a little guidance (as my own efforts are coming up short). Here's what I have so far. FixedFlipper.java: import android.content.Context; import android.util.AttributeSet; import android.widget.ViewFlipper; public class FixedFlipper extends ViewFlipper{ public FixedFlipper(Context context){ super(context); } public FixedFlipper(Context context, AttributeSet attrs){ super(context, attrs); } @Override protected void onDetachedFromWindow(){ try{ super.onDetachedFromWindow(); }catch(Exception e){ super.stopFlipping(); } } } main.xml: <com.site.TestApp.FixedFlipper style="@style/body" android:id="@+id/flipper"> ... </com.site.TestApp.FixedFlipper> And in my activity, I invoke it like so: FixedFlipper flipper = (FixedFlipper)findViewById(R.id.flipper); It seems like it should be pretty straightforward, but I keep getting this: Binary XML file line #4: Error inflating class com.site.TestApp.FixedFlipper I appreciate any suggestions. I've been chasing my tail for hours trying to figure out what piece of the puzzle I'm missing.

• Multiple Jira instances on a single Tomcat 6 server?

- by davidhayes
I have a feeling this is a stupid question but I can't find the answer anywhere... I need to deploy 2 Jira instances on asingle Tomcat server, I can't figure out how to pass in the jira.home property The documentation says I need to:- Add a web context property called 'jira.home' — this property is set in different files depending on your application server. For example, for Tomcat (and therefore for JIRA Standalone), you will need to configure the server.xml file. For other application servers you may need to configure the web.xml file, or set 'Context parameter' options on the deployment UI of the application server, etc. Note that If you have specified a JIRA home in jira-application.properties (ie. the recommended method), it will override your web context property. I was hoping something like this would work. <Context jira.home="d:/jira/data" path="" docBase="D:\Jira\atlassian-jira-enterprise-4.1\dist-tomcat\tomcat-6\atlassian-jira-4.1.war" debug="0"> <Resource name="jdbc/JiraDS" auth="Container" type="javax.sql.DataSource" username="sa" password="*****" driverClassName="net.sourceforge.jtds.jdbc.Driver" url="jdbc:jtds:sqlserver://*****:1433/jira41_519;user=****;password=****" /> <Resource name="UserTransaction" auth="Container" type="javax.transaction.UserTransaction" factory="org.objectweb.jotm.UserTransactionFactory" jotm.timeout="60"/> <Manager pathname=""/> </Context> Any ideas??

• Nested Linear layout only shows first view after being set from gone to visible in Android

- by Adam
Hi guys, I am developing an Android app but I'm still pretty new. I want to have a button, and when you push that button, a few TextViews and Buttons will appear. So I have a main linear layout, and then another linear layout nested inside containing the things I want hidden. I have the nested linear layout set to android:visibility="gone". The problem I am having is that it only shows the first item inside the hidden linear layout instead of all of them. The way I try to make it appear is vgAddView = (ViewGroup)findViewById(R.id.add_details); btnAche.setOnClickListener(new OnClickListener(){ public void onClick(View v){ vgAddView.setVisibility(0); } }); My XML file is this <LinearLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:orientation="vertical" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="fill_parent" > <LinearLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:orientation="vertical" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="fill_parent" android:id="@+id/add_details" android:visibility="gone"> <TextView android:orientation="vertical" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="fill_parent" android:text="@string/when_happen"> </TextView> </LinearLayout> </LinearLayout>

• Group testNG tests without annotations

- by diy
Hi gents and ladies, I'm responsible for allowing unit tests for one of ETL components.I want to acomplish this using testNG with generic java test class and number of test definitions in testng.xmlpassing various parameters to the class.Oracle and ETL guys should be able to add new tests without changing the java code, so we need to use xml suite file instead of annotations. Question Is there a way to group tests in testng.xml?(similarly to how it is done with annotations) I mean something like <group name="first_group"> <test> <class ...> <parameter ...> </test> </group> <group name="second_group"> <test> <class ...> <parameter ...> </test> </group> I've checked the testng.dtd as figured out that similar syntax is not allowed. But is therea workaround to allow grouping? Thanks in advance

• Java - SAX parser on a XHTML document

- by Peter
Hey, I'm trying to write a SAX parser for an XHTML document that I download from the web. At first I was having a problem with the doctype declaration (I found out from here that it was because W3C have intentionally blocked access to the DTD), but I fixed that with: XMLReader reader = parser.getXMLReader(); reader.setFeature("http://apache.org/xml/features/disallow-doctype-decl",true); However, now I'm experiencing a second problem. The SAX parser throws an exception when it reaches some Javascript embedded in the XHTML document: Specifically the parser throws an error once it reaches the &&'s, as it's expecting an entity reference. The exact exception is: `org.xml.sax.SAXParseException: The entity name must immediately follow the '&' in the entity reference. at com.sun.org.apache.xerces.internal.util.ErrorHandlerWrapper.createSAXParseException(ErrorHandlerWrapper.java:198) at com.sun.org.apache.xerces.internal.util.ErrorHandlerWrapper.fatalError(ErrorHandlerWrapper.java:177) at com.sun.org.apache.xerces.internal.impl.XMLErrorReporter.reportError(XMLErrorReporter.java:391) at com.sun.org.apache.xerces.internal.impl.XMLScanner.reportFatalError(XMLScanner.java:1390) at com.sun.org.apache.xerces.internal.impl.XMLDocumentFragmentScannerImpl.scanEntityReference(XMLDocumentFragmentScannerImpl.java:1814) at com.sun.org.apache.xerces.internal.impl.XMLDocumentFragmentScannerImpl$FragmentContentDriver.next(XMLDocumentFragmentScannerImpl.java:3000) at com.sun.org.apache.xerces.internal.impl.XMLDocumentScannerImpl.next(XMLDocumentScannerImpl.java:624) at com.sun.org.apache.xerces.internal.impl.XMLDocumentFragmentScannerImpl.scanDocument(XMLDocumentFragmentScannerImpl.java:486) at com.sun.org.apache.xerces.internal.parsers.XML11Configuration.parse(XML11Configuration.java:810) at com.sun.org.apache.xerces.internal.parsers.XML11Configuration.parse(XML11Configuration.java:740) at com.sun.org.apache.xerces.internal.parsers.XMLParser.parse(XMLParser.java:110) at com.sun.org.apache.xerces.internal.parsers.AbstractSAXParser.parse(AbstractSAXParser.java:1208) at com.sun.org.apache.xerces.internal.jaxp.SAXParserImpl$JAXPSAXParser.parse(SAXParserImpl.java:525) at MLIAParser.readPage(MLIAParser.java:55) at MLIAParser.main(MLIAParser.java:75)` I suspect (but I don't know) that if I hadn't disabled the DTD then I wouldn't get this error. So, how can I avoid the DTD error and avoid the entity reference error? Cheers, Pete

• How do I manage application configuration in ASP.NET?

- by GlennS
I am having difficulty with managing configuration of an ASP.Net application to deploy for different clients. The sheer volume of different settings which need twiddling takes up large amounts of time, and the current configuration methods are too complicated to enable us to push this responsibility out to support partners. Any suggestions for better methods to handle this or good sources of information to research? How we do things at present: Various xml configuration files which are referenced in Web.Config, for example an AppSettings.xml. Configurations for specific sites are kept in duplicate configuration files. Text files containing lists of data specific to the site In some cases, manual one-off changes to the database C# configuration for Windsor IOC. The specific issues we are having: Different sites with different features enabled, different external services we have to talk to and different business rules. Different deployment types (live, test, training) Configuration keys change across versions (get added, remove), meaning we have to update all the duplicate files We still need to be able to alter keys while the application is running Our current thoughts on how we might approach this are: Move the configuration into dynamically compiled code (possibly Boo, Binsor or JavaScript) Have some form of diffing/merging configuration: combine a default config with a live/test/training config and a site-specific config

• CSS - Class hierarchies???

- by ClarkeyBoy
Hi, I have a site with a customer front end, which has a catalogue, homepage, contact page, about us page and so on. There is also an administration front end. I would like to implement a kind of hierarchy where any elements within an element with class "admin" will inherit properties set in the admin stylesheet and anything else inherits from the customer stylesheet. The purpose of this is so that admin can login on the admin front end, where they have access to lots of advanced stuff, but they can also navigate to the customer front end where they can execute basic tasks (such as hiding catalogue items, running a debug script if a customer reports an issue and so on). I would like all the admin tools on the customer front end to have properties taken from the admin stylesheet instead of the customer one - this will change the background colour and stuff. Is there any easy way to set up like namespaces to make things simpler, for example: .admin { .list { .list-subtitle { } .list-item { } } a { } } .customer { .list { .list-subtitle { } .list-item { } } a { } } I know it can be like: .admin .list {} .admin .list .list-item {} .admin a I just dont want to have to keep putting .admin all the time. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I could do this? I suppose I could write a .net class which sets this up and writes a stylesheet according to whats put into it, but then I would not be able to read the styles so easily add there would be all sorts of like Classes.Add(blah) and so on. Thanks in advance for any replies... Regards, Richard

• Oracle performance problems with large batch of XSL operations

- by FrustratedWithFormsDesigner
I have a system that is performing many XSL transformations on XMLType objects. The problem is that the system gradually slows down over time, and sometimes crashes when it runs out of memory. It seems that the slow down (and possibly memory crash) is around the dbms_xslprocessor.processXSL function call, which gradually takes longer and longer to complete. The code looks like this: v_doc dbms_xmldom.DOMDocument; v_transformer dbms_xmldom.DOMDocument; v_XSLprocessor dbms_xslprocessor.Processor; v_stylesheet dbms_xslprocessor.Stylesheet; v_clob clob; ... transformer := PKG_STUFF.getXSL(); v_transformer := dbms_xmldom.newDOMDocument(transformer); v_XSLprocessor := Dbms_Xslprocessor.newProcessor; v_stylesheet := dbms_xslprocessor.newStylesheet(v_transformer, ''); ... for source_data in (select id in source_tbl) loop begin v_doc := PKG_CONVERT.convert(in_id => source_data.id); --start time of operation v_begin_op_time := dbms_utility.get_time; --reset the CLOB v_clob := ' '; --Apply XSL Transform dbms_xslprocessor.processXSL(p => v_XSLprocessor, ss => v_stylesheet, xmldoc => v_Doc, cl => v_clob); v_doc := dbms_xmldom.newDOMDocument(XMLType(v_clob)); --end time v_end_op_time := dbms_utility.get_time; --calculate duration v_time_taken := (((v_end_op_time - v_begin_op_time))); --log the duration PKG_LOG.log_message('Time taken to transform XML: '||v_time_taken); ... ... DBMS_XMLDOM.freeDocument(v_Doc); DBMS_LOB.freetemporary(lob_loc => v_clob); end loop; The time taken to transform the XML is slowly creeping up (I suppose it might also be the call to dbms_xmldom.newDOMDocument, but I had thought that to be fairly straightforward). I have no idea why.... :( (Oracle 10g)

• GAE AttributeError

- by awegawef
My GAE app runs fine from my computer, but when I upload it, I start getting an AttributeError, specifically: AttributeError: 'dict' object has no attribute 'item' I am using the pylast interface (an API for last.fm--link). Specifically, I am accessing a list of variables of this type: SimilarItem = _namedtuple("SimilarItem", ["item", "match"]) I have a variable of this type, call it sim, and I am trying to access sim.item when I get the attribute error. I should note that I am using Python 2.6 on my computer, and I understand that GAE runs on Python 2.5. Would that make a difference here? I thought they were backwards-compatible. Lastly, I think it could be a possible problem with the modules that pylast imports--maybe they don't work with GAE or something? I did some research but I didn't get any results. Here are the imports: import hashlib import httplib import urllib import threading from xml.dom import minidom import xml.dom import time import shelve import tempfile import sys import htmlentitydefs I would appreciate any help with this frustrating issue. Thanks in advance.

• How do I compress a Json result from ASP.NET MVC with IIS 7.5

- by Gareth Saul
I'm having difficulty making IIS 7 correctly compress a Json result from ASP.NET MVC. I've enabled static and dynamic compression in IIS. I can verify with Fiddler that normal text/html and similar records are compressed. Viewing the request, the accept-encoding gzip header is present. The response has the mimetype "application/json", but is not compressed. I've identified that the issue appears to relate to the MimeType. When I include mimeType="*/*", I can see that the response is correctly gzipped. How can I get IIS to compress WITHOUT using a wildcard mimeType? I assume that this issue has something to do with the way that ASP.NET MVC generates content type headers. The CPU usage is well below the dynamic throttling threshold. When I examine the trace logs from IIS, I can see that it fails to compress due to not finding a matching mime type. <httpCompression directory="%SystemDrive%\inetpub\temp\IIS Temporary Compressed Files" noCompressionForProxies="false"> <scheme name="gzip" dll="%Windir%\system32\inetsrv\gzip.dll" /> <dynamicTypes> <add mimeType="text/*" enabled="true" /> <add mimeType="message/*" enabled="true" /> <add mimeType="application/x-javascript" enabled="true" /> <add mimeType="application/json" enabled="true" /> </dynamicTypes> <staticTypes> <add mimeType="text/*" enabled="true" /> <add mimeType="message/*" enabled="true" /> <add mimeType="application/x-javascript" enabled="true" /> <add mimeType="application/atom+xml" enabled="true" /> <add mimeType="application/xaml+xml" enabled="true" /> <add mimeType="application/json" enabled="true" /> </staticTypes> </httpCompression>

• Explicit script end tag always converted to self-closing

- by Jonas
I'm using xslt to transform xml to an aspx file. In the xslt, I have a script tag to include a jquery.js file. To get it to work with IE, the script tag must have an explicit closing tag. For some reason, this doesn't work with xslt below. <xsl:stylesheet version="1.0" xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform" xmlns:msxsl="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:xslt" exclude-result-prefixes="msxsl" xmlns:asp="remove"> <xsl:output method="html"/> <xsl:template match="/">

TEST
But if I change the script tag as shown below, it works. I thought that the <xsl:output method="html" /> would do the trick, but it doesn't seem to work? /Jonas

• StackOverFlowException - but oviously NO recursion/endless loop

- by user567706
Hi there, I'm now blocked by this problem the entire day, read thousands of google results, but nothing seems to reflect my problem or even come near to it... i hope any of you has a push into the right direction for me. I wrote a client-server-application (so more like 2 applications) - the client collects data about his system, as well as a screenshot, serializes all this into a XML stream (the picture as a byte[]-array]) and sends this to the server in regular intervals. The server receives the stream (via tcp), deserializes the xml to an information-object and shows the information on a windows form. This process is running stable for about 20-25 minutes at a submission interval of 3 seconds. When observing the memory usage there's nothing significant to see, also kinda stable. But after these 20-25 mins the server throws a StackOverflowException at the point where it deserializes the tcp-stream, especially when setting the Image property from the byte[]-array. I thoroughly searched for recursive or endless loops, and regarding the fact that it occurs after thousands of sucessfull intervals, i could hardly imagine that. public byte[] ImageBase { get { MemoryStream ms = new MemoryStream(); _screen.Save(ms, System.Drawing.Imaging.ImageFormat.Jpeg); return ms.GetBuffer(); } set { if (_screen != null) _screen.Dispose(); //preventing well-known image memory leak MemoryStream ms = new MemoryStream(value); try { _screen = Image.FromStream(ms); //<< EXCEPTION THROWING HERE } catch (StackOverflowException ex) //thx to new CLR management this wont work anymore -.- { Console.WriteLine(ex.Message + Environment.NewLine + ex.StackTrace); } ms.Dispose(); ms = null; } } I hope that more code would be unnecessary, or it could get very complex... Please help, i have no clue at all anymore thx Chris

• Getting a binary file from resource in C#

- by Jesse Knott
Hello, I am having a bit of a problem, I am trying to get a PDF as a resource in my application. At this point I have a fillable PDF that I have been able to store as a file next to the binary, but now I am trying to embed the PDF as a resource in the binary. byte[] buffer; try { s = typeof(BattleTracker).Assembly.GetManifestResourceStream("libReports.Resources.DAForm1594.pdf"); buffer = new byte[s.Length]; int read = 0; do { read = s.Read(buffer, read, 32768); } while (read > 0); } catch (Exception e) { throw new Exception("Error: could not import report:", e); } // read existing PDF document PdfReader r = new PdfReader( // optimize memory usage buffer, null ); Every time I run the code I get an error saying "Rebuild trailer not found. Original Error: PDF startxref not found" When I was just opening the file via a path to the static file in my directory it worked fine. I have tried using different encodings UTF-8, UTF-32, UTF-7, ASCII, etc etc.... As a side note I had the same problem with getting a Powerpoint file as a resource, I was finally able to fix that problem by converting the Powerpoint to xml and using that. I have considered doing the same for the PDF but I am referencing elements by field name which does not seem to work with XML PDFs. Can anyone help me out with this? Thanks in advance!

• Trigger for ComboBox in Silverlight

- by Budda
Is there any possibility to display selected item of the ComboBox (after popup closing) in a way that is different from its displaying in DropDown List (There are players number and name in the dropdown list, but after list closing I want to see only its number). How can I change a background for the player with some Flag? As far as I know, all of that can be done with triggers, but are they supported in Silverlight 4, VS2010, Silverlight Toolkit 4? In my case the following code <ComboBox ItemsSource="{Binding PlayersAll}" SelectedItem="{Binding Path=SelectedPlayer, Mode=TwoWay}" > <ComboBox.ItemTemplate> <DataTemplate> <ToolkitControls:WrapPanel Orientation="Horizontal"> <TextBlock Text="{Binding TeamNumber}"/> <TextBlock Text=" - "/> <TextBlock Text="{Binding ShortName}"/> </ToolkitControls:WrapPanel> <DataTemplate.Triggers> <Trigger Property="HasError" Value="True"> <Setter Property="Background" TargetName="FlagSet" Value="Red"/> </Trigger> </DataTemplate.Triggers> </DataTemplate> </ComboBox.ItemTemplate> </ComboBox> gives an error: The property 'Triggers' does not exist on the type 'DataTemplate' in the XML namespace 'http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation' what is wrong here? Here are my namespaces: xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" xmlns:d="http://schemas.microsoft.com/expression/blend/2008" xmlns:mc="http://schemas.openxmlformats.org/markup-compatibility/2006" xmlns:navigation="clr-namespace:System.Windows.Controls;assembly=System.Windows.Controls.Navigation" xmlns:data="clr-namespace:System.Windows.Controls;assembly=System.Windows.Controls.Data" xmlns:ToolkitControls="clr-namespace:System.Windows.Controls;assembly=System.Windows.Controls.Toolkit"

• Adding Table Columns to a Group by clause - Ruby on Rails - Postgresql

- by bgadoci
I am trying to use Heroku and apparently Postgresql is a lot more strict than SQL for aggregate functions. When I am pushing to Heroku I am getting an error stating the below. On another question I asked I received some guidance that said I should just add the columns to my group by clause and I am not sure how to do that. See the full error below and the PostsControll#index. SELECT posts.*, count(*) as vote_total FROM "posts" INNER JOIN "votes" ON votes.post_id = posts.id GROUP BY votes.post_id ORDER BY created_at DESC LIMIT 5 OFFSET 0): PostsController def index @tag_counts = Tag.count(:group => :tag_name, :order => 'count_all DESC', :limit => 20) conditions, joins = {}, :votes @ugtag_counts = Ugtag.count(:group => :ugctag_name, :order => 'count_all DESC', :limit => 20) conditions, joins = {}, :votes @vote_counts = Vote.count(:group => :post_title, :order => 'count_all DESC', :limit => 20) conditions, joins = {}, :votes unless(params[:tag_name] || "").empty? conditions = ["tags.tag_name = ? ", params[:tag_name]] joins = [:tags, :votes] end @posts=Post.paginate( :select => "posts.*, count(*) as vote_total", :joins => joins, :conditions=> conditions, :group => "votes.post_id", :order => "created_at DESC", :page => params[:page], :per_page => 5) @popular_posts=Post.paginate( :select => "posts.*, count(*) as vote_total", :joins => joins, :conditions=> conditions, :group => "votes.post_id", :order => "vote_total DESC", :page => params[:page], :per_page => 3) respond_to do |format| format.html # index.html.erb format.xml { render :xml => @posts } format.json { render :json => @posts } format.atom end end
