  • Background position image overlay (Works in IE, not in Mozilla/Chrome/Safari)

    Hi all, I am having an issue positioning a background image using the following jquery background position command in Firefox, Google Chrome, and Safari. The code works correctly in IE 8. $('#element).css({ backgroundPosition: 'xpx ypx' }); The x position of the image is calculated dynamically based on window size and the y position is static. The css appears to be modified correctly, however, the background image I am attempting to overlay is absent.   • UITableView not showing background image.

    I have a uitableview with 2 cells (custom tableviewcells) and a button for login. I made them programmatically. Now I want to put a background image behind the 2 custom cells and the button. I went into IB and put the image view on top of the tableview and then put a picture on it which I want as the background. Then I went into viewDidLoad and put this bit of code tblSimpleTable.backgroundColor = [UIColor clearColor]; to clear the tableviews background colour. It now looks like this: But the background does not appear. Does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks.

    is there any way when using a div for a background image- to limit the height to only the content displayed? im putting the background image in a div because i want it centered via position:relative but the image doesnt show up unless i put a height on the div, and thats not what i want because i dont want to be able to just scroll down to the bottom of the image where theres no content ive tried putting the background image on the body css but if the browser is less than the width of the image, it just throws it over to the left and you can only see half of it- is there no way to make the background position:relative on the body? sorry if that doesnt make sense < thanks

  • Drop down menu going under #main div background in IE 7/8/9

I am going to fit the navigation list items on the header, but when the drop down menu is implemented I'm pretty sure it'll go under the #main div like you see currently. Is there any easy way fix to this? I couldn't find anything related to this from a google search .. was hoping someone could help me out. Below is the relevant CSS .. I tried playing around with z-index with no luck as I was told IE8 renders it strangely. If you have the time please follow the link with IE and leave a response .. I am trying to be as cross-browser compatible as possible and already am at a pretty pathetic start.   • FFmpeg creates emtpy (black) frames

    I have a set of images from a timelapse shot (172 JPG files) that I want to convert into a movie. I tried several parameters with FFmpeg, but all I get is a video with black frames (though it has the expected length). ffmpeg -f image2 -vcodec mjpeg -y -i img_%03d.jpg timelapse2.mpg The command above creates this video: http://sdm-net.org/data/timelapse2.mpg What I'm expecting is something like this (created with Time Lapse Assembler.app): https://vimeo.com/39038362 - This is my fallback option, but I'd really like to create timelapse movies from a script. I'm on OSX Lion (10.7.3) with FFmpeg version (0.10) installed via Homebrew. I also tried to find a proper version of mencoder for OSX, but this doesn't seem to be an easy task. Also, ImageMagick's convert doesn't seem to work nicely, it creates really bad output and it seems there's not much I can do about it...   • Set UIViewController background to transparent

    I'm calling a UIViewController from a button on the main view. I have set the alpha of the view to 50%. When the view animates in, I can see that it's transparent. As soon as the animation stops, it becomes opaque. In the xib, when I set opacity, it's sets the opacity over white. So if I set the color to black and the opacity to 50%, this is what I see when I click the button on the main interface to show the view: view slides up from bottom at 50% opacity. I can see the underlaying view through the transparent black nicely. when view stops animating, it become gray. it appears that a white color pops in the background of the view somehow, making the 50% opacity black over white turn gray. I can no longer see the underlaying layer. What I'm trying to do: show 100% white text on a 50% transparent black layer which sits over the view that called this view. How on earth do I do this?   • Black background while copying image from Firefox

    An image is copied from Firefox into the Clipboard. My program gets it from clipboard and saves as a JPEG image. For some reason the image is saved with a black background. If I open the same URL in IE and copy the image into the Clipboard, the image is saved correctly by my program. I am using Delphi 7. I also tried to copy the image from Firefox into Microsoft Paint and again the black background. Does anyone has a tip in how to handle such problem.

    I wrote an uncompressed TGA texture loader and it works nearly perfect, except for the fact that there's just one TINY little black patch on the upper right and it's driving me mad. I can get rid of it by using a texture border, but somehow I think that's not the practical solution. Has anyone encountered this kind of problem before and knows -generally- what's going wrong when something like this happens, or should I post the image-loading function code?     This is a follow-up of this question on here http://iphonedevelopment.blogspot.com/2010/02/drawing-hud-display-in-opengl-es.html It tackles on the HUD (heads up display) which is based on this tutorial http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2681102/opengl-es-displaying-hud-display-has-no-color-on-top-of-textured-3d-objects I wanted to set the "Text" in color BLACK, but it is more complicated than what I thought. Setting it to some other color other than black "glColor4f(0.0, 0.0, 0.0, 1.0);" is just fine. I assume that the culprit must be in the Blending function "glBlendFunc (GL_ONE, GL_ONE);" I experimented a lot of combinations with no luck. Has anyone experimented on this one on top of textured 3D in the backgrounds working?

    Hi guys, can anyone help me on my problem? I only see black screen after the startup.. It just shows the logo and the status bar upon start, then it goes black screen with moveable cursor. I tried alt+ctrl+del, but it doesn't work. I pressed shift 5 times and it makes a sound. I already removed battery and restarted it, but still the same. I can go to safe mode and scanned thru there. Still, desktop won't show up. Don't know what else to check? Been searching the net for solutions. Please help? :(

  • Jquery Slider PNG black borders IE8

    Greetings, I'm having a lot of trouble with the IE8 buy of getting black borders when using a JQUERY slider, with PNG transparent images. Using a slightly modified version of the Nivio slider. I have searched high and low for fixes and blocks of code but so far none have worked. What happens is that as soon as the img cycles it gets the black border and looks like shit (only in IE8). Does anyone know a working fix for this? Or do we just have to ban IE from all computers?
