  Is it possible to check for pressed keys without using the KeyboardEvent? I have an ENTER_FRAME event setup called enterFrameHandler and I want to check within the function enterFrameHandler if any keys are pressed. normally when using a KeyboardEvent I could check for keys easily using a switch that checks the KeyCode of the event, but in an ENTER_FRAME event this isn't possible for me. Is there any other way of checking the keyboard's state within the ENTER_FRAME event?

A file with a wrong name, should not appear in the list, and an alert() should be called specifying the filename was not correct. Is there a way to check the add event, and to interrupt it when the filename is not correct?

  I have a nested JSON object that I need to loop through, and the value of each key could be a String, JSON array or another JSON object. Depending on the type of object, I need to carry out different operations. Is there any way I can check the type of the object to see if it is a String, JSON object or JSON array? I tried using typeof and instanceof but both didn't seem to work, as typeof will return an object for both JSON object and array, and instanceof gives an error when I do obj instanceof JSON. To be more specific, after parsing the JSON into a JS object, is there any way I can check if it is a normal string, or an object with keys and values (from a JSON object), or an array (from a JSON array)?   I have an entries controller that allows users to add contact information the website. The user-submitted information isn't visible to users until the administrator checks a check box and submits the form. • Null reference exceptions in .net

  Hello, we're having this big problem with our application. It's a rather large application with several modules, and thousands and thousands lines of code. A lot of parts of the application are designed to exist only with a reference to another object, for example a Person object can never exists without a House object, so if you at any point in the app say: bool check = App.Person.House == null; check should always be false (by design), so, to keep using that example, while creating modules, testing, debugging, App.Person.House is never null, but once we shipped the application to our client, they started getting a bunch of NullReferenceException with the objects that by design, should never have a null reference. They tell us the bug, we try to reproduce it here, but 90% of the times we can't, because here it works fine. The app is being developed with C# and WPF, and by design, it only runs on Windows XP SP 3, and the .net framework v3.5, so we KNOW the user has the same operative system, service pack, and .net framework version as we do here, but they still get this weird NullReferenceExceptions that we can't reproduce. So, I'm just wondering if anyone has seen this before and how you fixed it, we have the app running here at least 8 hours a day in 5 different computers, and we never see those exceptions, this only happens to the client for some reason. ANY thought, any clue, any solution that could get us closer to fixing this problem will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

  I am working on an iPhone app and am getting (null) references to IBOutlet fields in my controller. I have a UIViewController subclass that is set as the File's Owner in my XIB. I have a set of UI elements that are wired into the controller. After loading from NIB and attempting to set properties on those UI elements, I find that they are (null). And a simple enum: public enum TestConverterEnum { A, B, C; } Using the default struts2 enum conversion, when I send the request like so: TestConterter.action?test=&tests=&tList=&b=asdf For test I get a null value, which is expected. For the Array and List, however, I get and Array (or list) with one null element. Is this what is expected? Is there a way to prevent this. We recently upgraded our struts2 version, and we had our own converters, which also don't work in this case, so I was hoping to use the default conversion method. We already have code that is validating these arrays for null and length, and I don't want to have to add another condition to these branches. Is there a way to prevent this bevavior?

• jQuery selector for option tag value attribute returns null

  Hello, I am trying to change the selected option in a select dropdown box with jQuery. I have it set so that it finds the hash tag at the end of the URL and based on that hash tag it changes the selected option in the select box. Most of my code is functional, it successfully finds the hash tag and executes the if statement that corresponds with it. However, when it goes to execute the "then" section of the statement when it goes to the selector for the option (which uses an attribute selector based on the value attribute of the option tag) it returns null. If figured this out with firebug, in the console it says that the selector is null.   I have a weird issue (weird because it is specific to one component) with applicationComplete in a fairly simple application. All the UI components are declared in MXML. I can access them all in applicationComplete, but not a spark.components.TextArea component, named taStatus here; it is null in the handler.
