Hi,
I am looking for a jquery modal window script for displaying images, text, html, videos, etc.
There are a lot of great ones out there, but I am looking for one that allows for a long description (that isn't pulled from the title) - like highslide that lets you have a caption and will display the photo text to the right or left of your image in the same modal window.
Due to licensing, I can't use highslide. So I'm looking for something else.
Thoughts?
I am creating an element with document.createElement().
Now how can I pass it to a function that only takes a Jquery object?
$("#id")
I can not use it, as the element has not been rendered in the page yet.
The code says Zend_Form_element_File::setDestination() is depricated and to use the rename filter. However the rename filter is currently codes such that when path is set, only temporary name is given. Original filename is lost.
<?php
$file = new Zend_Form_Element_File();
$file->setDestination('/var/www/project/public');
?>
vs
<?php
$file = new Zend_Form_Element_File();
$file->addFilter('Rename', array('target' => '/var/www/project/public'));
?>
Any solution to upload files so that it preserves original filename structure but checks for existing file and appends _1.ext or _2.ext?
ie6 isn't playing nice with my jquery snippet, why is this throwing a syntax error in IE6
if(typeof isIE6 !="undefined"){
$("#dropdown-list li").hover(
function(){ $(this).addClass("hover"); },
function(){ $(this).removeClass("hover"); },
);
};
I am having problems with ColorBox to show a hidden report from ReportViewer as explained here.
Is there a JQuery lightbox which works well with the ASP.NET ReportViewer?
I want a link that scrolls the page to the start of the <div class="content-body">
The same functionality as a: <a href="#maincontent">Skip</a>, and placing <a name="maincontent"></a> right next to <div class="content-body">
I am seeing if it is possible via jQuery, and want to know if I would run into any problems down the road using that method (besides the user having javascript disabled).
I'm watching a tutorial learning JQuery for the first time, and it seems you can select items using pretty much CSS, like:
$('ul li:nth-child(3)').addClass('biscuits');
Is that kind of selector going to work on all browsers, or just ones that support CSS 3 ?

I am very familiar with self executing functions from working with jQuery.
(function($) { /* do stuff */ })(jQuery);
Today I was reading the backbone.js source and noticed that they do this:
(function() { /* do stuff */ }).call(this);
Is this achieving the same thing? Would the following 2 lines of code do the same thing?
(function($) { /* do stuff */ })(jQuery);
(function($) { /* do stuff */ }).call(jQuery);
My database consists of some entries which are NULL (so they don't affect max, min, etc..). When I pull all of the data from the database, I need to repopulate form fields with the values. Using .val(value) where value = NULL seems to work without any problems, but I'm not sure if this is a valid way to go about this. It doesn't say anything in the jQuery documentation (that I can find) about using NULL as parameters to functions.
var foot = document.createElement("div");
$('<div class="t"></div><div class="b"></div>').appendTo(foot);
foot.id='foot';
//*****
$(foot,'> .t').mouseover(function(){...})
i want to get the '.t' div element,
but now ,the 'foot' div is not already appenTo the 'document.body' ,
so i can't use this $('#foot .t'),
and i use this:$(foot,' .t'), but ,i get the $(foot),
so how do i get the foot's '.t' element using jquery

i have a parent window and a child window. in javascript, i want a function in child window to be called whenever the parent window loads a new page. i'd like to use something similar to jQuery's $(document).ready() so that I don't have to worry about whether the parent is done loading yet - but ready() only appears to fire when the window loads the first page - but not when, say, a link is clicked in the parent and it loads a second page.
any suggestions? thanks.
I would like to make sure if a textbox has any content at all, that jQuery can show it's parent (an <li class="hidden_dedication") element and set add a class of 'shown'. I'm pretty sure that it should be something like this, but cannot get it to work:
if ($('li.hidden_dedication input').val() !== null) {
$(this).parent().show().addClass('shown');
}
I cannot figure it out.. any ideas?
Many thanks
Hi,
Do you think jquery could help me get the following script work faster?
Thanks!
window.onload=function colorizeCheckedRadios(){
var inputs = document.getElementsByTagName("input");
if (inputs) {
for (var i = 0; i < inputs.length; ++i) {
if(inputs[i].checked&&inputs[i].type=="radio"){
inputs[i].parentNode.parentNode.style.backgroundColor='#FCE6F4';
}
}
}
}
I'm trying to make a page scroll down 150px from the current position when an element is clicked. So lets say you're roughly halfway scrolled down a page. You click this link, and it will slide you down an additional 150 pixels.
Is this possible with jQuery?
I've been looking at scrollTop and the scrollTo plugin, but I can't seem to connect the dots.
Hi
I have a Jquery accordion which works fine. Sections get expanded/collapsed when clicked on respective headers. But I want to add the functionality so that when I click on "next" button it opens up the next section and clicking "Previous" button takes me back to previous section.
This has been done on this page http://jquery.bassistance.de/accordion/demo/?p=1.1.2 (last example) but not sure how do I implement the same in my case.
Any suggestions please.
Thanks
UPDATE: How do I get previous or next section of the accordion?
<script type="text/javascript">
$("#accordion").accordion({
header: "h3.header"
, autoHeight: false
, collapsible: true
});
</script>
<div id="accordion">
<h3 class="header">Section 1</h3>
<div> content 1 .. content 1 .. content 1 .. content 1 ..
<input class="next" type="button" value="next"/>
</div>
<h3 class="header">Section 2</h3>
<div> content 2 .. content 2 .. content 2 .. content 2 ..
<input class="previous" type="button" value="previous"/>
<input class="next" type="button" value="next"/>
</div>
<h3 class="header">Section 3</h3>
<div> content 3 .. content 3 .. content 3 .. content 3 ..
<input class="previous" type="button" value="previous"/>
</div>
</div>
I have used Jquery UI Tabs, and given close option to the tabs. By default i am creating three tabs and its corresponding three divs. Now when i close a tab then the tab and its div are removed. I need to just hide the tab and div and when i click Add Tab i should just show the hidden tab and div. I am not sure how to show/hide the tab and div property.
Thanks in advance.
