  • Querying Last Entries group by DeviceId

    I have the database table logs as the following: I would like to extract the last entry of device, pollDate, status. For eg. deviceId, pollDate, status 1, 2010-95-06 10:53:28, 1 3, 2010-95-06 10:26:28, 1 I tried to run the following query but the distinct only selects the first records, not the latest SELECT DISTINCT deviceId, pollDate, status FROM logs GROUP By deviceId ORDER BY pollDate DESC So, could you please help me to extract the latest entries from the table?   • How can one prevent page breaks between Tables in SQL Reporting Services 2005?

    I've been developing an SSRS 2005 report (a form letter) that contains two tables. The first "table" uses DataSet "A" to populate address fields on letterhead. The second table uses DataSet "B" to display a basic list of records that pertain to the addressed party. Even though the two tables are within the same page and all PageBreak* properties are set to "False", SSRS renders the report as two pages. How can I force both tables to render in series, without any forced page breaks?

What I'm wondering is, with ADODB recordsets, is there anyway to extract the 'changes'. The logic which changes the recordset is scattered about, and all I need is the changes, not how it was changed... I have two questions: Should I give a maximum value for the text field? Is this necessary? Is it useful? Looks like the enrollmentgroupmembership records have the tierweight value populated. However if I look at the tierweight object, it doesn't have the enrollmentgroupmembership records. I'm puzzled.   • Resize form based on if subform visible

    I have a form with a subform on it. If subform contains no records, it's visible property is false. In that case, I'd like the outer form to shrink so that there isn't a big empty space where the subform was. The long way to do this would be by setting the position for all the controls on the form based on whether the subform is visible. However, is there an easier way to do this (maybe with the can grow/ can shrink property)?

  • MySQL forgot about automatically creating an index for a foreign key?

    After running the following SQL statements, you will see that, MySQL has automatically created the non-unique index question_tag_tag_id_tag_id on the tag_id column for me after the first ALTER TABLE statement has run. But after the second ALTER TABLE statement has run, I think MySQL should also automatically create another non-unique index question_tag_question_id_question_id on the question_id column for me. But as you can see from the SHOW INDEXES statement output, it's not there. Why does MySQL forget about the second ALTER TABLE statement? By the way, since I have already created a unique index question_id_tag_id_idx used by both question_id and tag_id columns.
