  • iPhone OS: Is there a way to set up KVO between two ManagedObject Entities?

    I have 2 entities I want to link with KVO, one a single statTracker class that keeps track of different stats and the other an achievement class that contains information about achievements. Ideally what I want to be able to do is set up KVO by having an instance of the achievement class observe a value on the statTracker class and also set up a threshold value at which the achievement instance should be "triggered"(triggering in this case would mean showing a UIAlertView and changing a property on the achievement class.) I'd like to also set these relationships up on instantiation of the achievement class if possible so kind of like this: Achievement *achievement1 = (Achievement *)[NSEntityDescription insertNewObjectForEntityForName:@"Achievement" inManagedObjectContext:[[CoreDataSingleton sharedCoreDataSingleton] managedObjectContext]]; [achievement1 setAchievementName:@"2 time launcher"]; [achievement1 setAchievementDescription:@"So you've decided to come back for more eh?     Hopefully that title makes sense... Let's say I have an employee table: ID | Name | Title | Salary ---------------------------- 1 | Bob | Manager | 15285 2 | Joe | Worker | 10250 3 | Al | Worker | 11050 4 | Paul | Manager | 16025 5 | John | Worker | 10450 What I'd like to do is write a query that will give me the above table, along with an averaged salary column, based on the employee title: ID | Name | Title | Salary | Pos Avg -------------------------------------- 1 | Bob | Manager | 15285 | 15655 2 | Joe | Worker | 10250 | 10583 3 | Al | Worker | 11050 | 10583 4 | Paul | Manager | 16025 | 15655 5 | John | Worker | 10450 | 10583 I've tried doing this with a sub-query along the lines of: Select *, (select Avg(e2.salary) from employee e2 where e2.title = e.title) from employee e But I've come to realize that the sub-query is executed first, and has no knowledge of the table alias'd e I'm sure I'm missing something REALLY obvious here, can anyone point me in the right diretion?

  • Storing expression references to data base

    I have standard arithmetic expressions sotred as strings eg. "WIDTH * 2 + HEIGHT * 2" In this example WIDTH and HEIGHT references other objects in my system and the literals WIDTH and HEIGHT refers to a property (Name) on those objects. The problem I'm having is when the Name property on an expression object changes the expression won't match anymore. One solution I came up with is to instead of storing "WIDTH * 2 + HEIGHT * 2" i store "{ID_OF_WIDTH} * 2 + {ID_OF_HEIGHT} * 2" And let my parser be able to parse this new syntax and implement an interface or such on referenced objects IExpressionReference { string IdentifierName { get; } } Anyone have a better/alternative solution to my problem?

  • dotNet Templated, Repeating, Databound ServerControl: Modifying underlying ServerControl data per te

    I have a server control that wraps an underlying class which manages a number of indexes to track where it is in a dataset (ie: RenderedRecordCount, ErroredRecordCount, NewRecordCount, etc.). I've got the server control rendering great, but OnDataBinding I'm having an issue as to seems to happen after CreateChildControls and before Render (both of which properly manage the iteration of the underlying indexes). While I'm somewhat familiar with the ASP.NET page lifecycle, this one seems to be beyond me at the moment. So... How do I hook into the iterative process OnDataBinding uses so I can manage the underlying indexes? Will I have to iterate over the ITemplates myself, managing the indexes as I go or is there an easier solution? [edit: Agh... writing the problem out is very cathartic... I'm thinking this is exactly what I will need to do...] Also... I implemented the iteration of the underlying indexes during CreateChildControls originally in the belief that was the proper place to hook in for events like OnDataBinding (thinking it was done as the controls were being .Add'd). Now it seems that this may actually be unnecessary. So I guess the secondary question is: What happens during CreateChildControls? Are the unadulterated (read: with various <%-tags in place) controls added to the .Controls collection without any other processing?

    I am designing an Org Chart, model is almost ready and simplified a bit for clarity here. OrgUnit (OrgUnitId, Name, ReportsToOrgUnitId, ...) OrgUnitJobs (OrgUnitJobId, OrgUnitId, JobName, ReportsToOrgUnitJobId, ... ,IsJobGroup) Employee (EmployeeId, ........) OrgUnitJobEmployee (OrgUnitJobId, EmployeeId, AssignedDate, .....,) so I want to know every OrgUnit's ManagerEmployee (should have one), and Employees can have more than one job, but one of them has to be the main job, so I know whats his manager and other stuff. This is going to support a little workflow behind the scnese, so that is why it is not a very simple Org chart Model. so what would you do, would you add properties like (IsManager property to OrgUnitJobs model) or add ManagerOrgUnitJobId to OrgUnitModel. and why? Likewise, for employees would you add IsPrimaryJob property to OrgUnitJobEmployee model, or add PrimaryJobId to Employee Model.

    I have a vector X that contains positive numbers that I want to bin/discretize. For this vector, I want the numbers [0, 10) to show up just as they exist in the vector, but numbers [10,∞) to be 10+. I'm using: x <- c(0,1,3,4,2,4,2,5,43,432,34,2,34,2,342,3,4,2) binned.x <- as.factor(ifelse(x > 10,"10+",x)) but this feels klugey to me. Does anyone know a better solution or a different approach? mcpeterson

If i open this link in browser it shows me login form then i enter username and password and then i can see the image. How i must use my credentials to download file with WebClient or HttpWebRequest?

    I ran into the following problem in dynamically creating topics for our ActiveMQ system: I have a number of processes (M_1, ..., M_n), where n is not large, typically 5-10. Some of the processes will listen to the output of others, through a message queue; these edges are specified in an XML file, e.g. <link from="M1" to="M3"</link> <link from="M2" to="M4"</link> <link from="M3" to="M4"</link> etc. The edges are sparse, so there won't be many of them. I will parse this XML and store this information in an SQL DB, one table for nodes and another for edges. Now, I need to dynamically create strings of the form M1.exe --output_topic=T1 M2.exe --output_topic=T2 M3.exe --input_topic=T1 --output_topic=T3 M4.exe --input_topic=T2 --input_topic=T3 where the tags are sequentially generated. What is the best way to go about querying SQL to obtain these relationships? Are there any tools or other tutorials you can point me to? I've never done graps with SQL. Using SQL is imperative, because we use it for other stuff, too. Thanks!

  • Mapping class properties to generic columns in table .NET

    I have have a SQL Server table which has generic names like Text1, Text2.. etc. The table was designed like this because the same structure is used for different projects. I have a class in .NET which has properties. Say a Customer class has a property called FirstName. How can I do the mapping from FirstName to Text1 just once (central place) in the application so that I don't have to remember and hard code the mappings all over the app when I create the different DAL methods? For example, I want the app to know when I want to update, insert a FirstName, the DAL automatically uses Text1. Basically I don't have to remember which property goes to which column. The idea is so the developers do not map the properlies/columns in a wrong way. It's always consistent. Note: Database inserts, updates and deletes are allowed through stored procedures only.

However the location will always remain same as "D:/logFiles/" . Please help me in this as this is very urgent and important for me.

    I have a many-to-many relationship defined in my Symfony (using doctrine) project between Orders and Upgrades (an Order can be associated with zero or more Upgrades, and an Upgrade can apply to zero or more Orders). # schema.yml Order: columns: order_id: {...} relations: Upgrades: class: Upgrade local: order_id foreign: upgrade_id refClass: OrderUpgrade Upgrade: columns: upgrade_id: {...} relations: Orders: class: Order local: upgrade_id foreign: order_id refClass: OrderUpgrade OrderUpgrade: columns: order_id: {...} upgrade_id: {...} I want to set up delete cascade behavior so that if I delete an Order or an Upgrade, all of the related OrderUpgrades are deleted. Where do I put onDelete: CASCADE? Usually I would put it at the end of the relations section, but that would seem to imply in this case that deleting Orders would cascade to delete Upgrades. Is Symfony + Doctrine smart enough to know what I'm wanting if I put onDelete: CASCADE in the above relations sections of schema.yml?
