  • jQuery: Use of undefined constant data assumed 'data'

    - by morpheous
    I am trying to use jQuery to make a synchronous AJAX post to a server, and get a JSON response back. I want to set a javascript variable msg upon successful return This is what my code looks like: $(document).ready(function(){ $('#test').click(function(){ alert('called!'); jQuery.ajax({ async: false, type: 'POST', url: 'http://www.example.com', data: 'id1=1&id2=2,&id3=3', dataType: 'json', success: function(data){ msg = data.msg; }, error: function(xrq, status, et){alert('foobar\'d!');} }); }); [Edit] I was accidentally mixing PHP and Javascript in my previous xode (now corrected). However, I now get this even more cryptic error message: uncaught exception: [Exception... "Component returned failure code: 0x80070057 (NS_ERROR_ILLEGAL_VALUE) [nsIXMLHttpRequest.open]" nsresult: "0x80070057 (NS_ERROR_ILLEGAL_VALUE)" location: "JS frame :: http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.3.2/jquery.min.js :: anonymous :: line 19" data: no] What the ... ?

  • Trying to get a json result back from method in another namespace, having issues

    - by Blankman
    I have a seperate .js file and namespace for json requests. I have another .js file and namespace for the actual logic. I can't seem to get the result back in my logic layer. var jsonResult = Blah.Data.LoadAggregates(); alert(jsonResult); alert(jsonResult.d.length); alert(jsonResult.length); all of the above calls are returning undefined. Blah.RegisterNamespace("Blah.Data"); (function(Data) { Data.LoadAggregates = function() { $.ajax({ type: "POST", url: "asdf.asmx/GetAggregates", data: "{}", contentType: "application/json; charset=utf-8", dataType: "json", success: function(data) { ??????? }, error: function(msg) { alert("error" + msg); } }); }; })(Blah.Data);

  • I have a filter for jquery masonry - but I want to filter moomasonry

    - by Jason
    Hi, I'm using jquery masonry for layout. But I am considering moving to mootools. I have found a masonry port to mootools, called moomasonry - http://www.crionics.com/products/opensource/mooMasonry/Demos/basic.html With help here, I have a filter on the masonry divs by class: $('a.filter').click(function(){ filterBoxes(this.id); }) function filterBoxes(klass){ if (klass == "all") { klass = "box" } $('#holder').find('.' + klass) .hide() .appendTo('#main') .fadeIn('200') $('#main').find('.box:not(.' + klass + ')') .fadeOut( '200', function(){ $(this).appendTo('#holder') ; }); setTimeout(function(){ $('#main').masonry() },500); } But, how would I filter divs by class in mootools? and have it reload masonry after each filter. See my site for example: http://jasondaydesign.com/masonry_demo/

  • Qt - A login dialog

    - by Narek
    I want to create a login dialog by inheriting QDialog. I put in subclass named LoginDialog 2 QLineEdits: for login for password. I want to be able to warn the user with a message if the caps lock is ON while he will start to fill passwordLineEdit. Suppose I have a function that tells the current state of CapsLock button. So I want to do eventFiltering in LoginDialog class in order to understand that user starts to fill the password field (i.e. user just stepped into the password field) So for that purpose I wrote the following in the LoginDialog class constructor: m_passwordLineEdit->installEventFilter(this); So the only thing is to do is to implement a function which can understand that user is going to fill the password. Seems is should be done with the following function(??): bool LoginDialog::eventFilter(QObject *target, QEvent *event) { if (target == m_passwordLineEdit) { } return QDialog::eventFilter(target, event); } How to implement this function???

I'm building a template system and I really would just like an object variable to simply be there in all functions. Here's some code: Librarian.php: $class = "slideshow"; $function = "basic"; $args = array(...); $librarian = $this; // I WOULD LIKE THIS TO BE PRESENT IN CALLED FUNCTION ... return call_user_func($class.'::'.$function, $args); ... • Unit Testing functions within repository interfaces - ASP.net MVC3 & Moq

    - by RawryLions
    I'm getting into writing unit testing and have implemented a nice repository pattern/moq to allow me to test my functions without using "real" data. So far so good.. However.. In my repository interface for "Posts" IPostRepository I have a function: Post getPostByID(int id); I want to be able to test this from my Test class but cannot work out how. So far I am using this pattern for my tests: [SetUp] public void Setup() { mock = new Mock<IPostRepository>(); } [Test] public void someTest() { populate(10); //This populates the mock with 10 fake entries //do test here } In my function "someTest" I want to be able to call/test the function GetPostById. I can find the function with mock.object.getpostbyid but the "object" is null. Any help would be appreciated :) iPostRepository: public interface IPostRepository { IQueryable<Post> Posts {get;} void SavePost(Post post); Post getPostByID(int id); }

  • How do programming languages bind identifiers to functions

    - by sub
    I'm talking about C and/or C++ here as this are the only languages I know used for interpreters where the following could be a problem: If we have an interpreted language X how can a library written for it add functions to the language which can then be called from within programs written in the language? PHP example: substr( $str, 5, 10 ); How is the function substr added to the "function pool" of PHP so it can be called from within scripts? It is easy for PHP storing all registered function names in an array and searching through it as a function is called in a script. However, as there obviously is no eval in C(++), how can the function then be called? I assume PHP doesn't have 100MB of code like: if( identifier == "substr" ) { return PHP_SUBSTR(...); } else if( ... ) { ... } Ha ha, that would be pretty funny. I hope you have understood my question so far. How do interpreters solve this problem? How can I solve this for my own experimental toy interpreter?

  • Strategies for Error Handling in .NET Web Services

    - by Jarrod
    I have a fairly substantial library of web services built in .NET that I use as a data model for our company web sites. In most .NET applications I use the Global ASAX file for profiling, logging, and creating bug reports for all exceptions thrown by the application. Global ASAX isn't available for web services so I'm curious as to what other strategies people have come up with to work around this limitation. Currently I just do something along these lines: <WebMethod()> _ Public Function MyServiceMethod(ByVal code As Integer) As String Try Return processCode(code) Catch ex As Exception CustomExHandler(ex) 'call a custom function every time to log exceptions Return errorObject End Try End Function Anybody have a better way of doing things besides calling a function inside the Catch?

  • Jquery .val() for input only works once.

    - by Bolt_Head
    I'm trying to create a chat box for my game. The user type's their chat into the input:text feild and by ither pressing Enter or clicking the button submits the chat text. This all works, however for some reason after the first time a user submits a chat message it fails to get the text from the input field. Here is my code. $(document).ready(function() { $("#chatEnter").live('click',function(){ var chat = $('#chatText').val(); sendChat(chat); }); }); $(document).ready(function() { $("#chatText").keypress(function(e){ if ((e.which && e.which == 13) || (e.keyCode && e.keyCode == 13)) { var chat = $('#chatText').val(); sendChat(chat); return false; } else return true; }); }); function sendChat(chat) { alert(chat); //temp test alert $.getJSON("includes/boardUpdate.php",{chat: chat, bid: bid}); $('#chatText').val(""); } It doesn't matter if i first submit a text by clicking the button or pressing enter, all future attempts submit blank entrys until I refresh the page. Edit: I've tried it with and without the line to clear the text box, same results both ways. Your help is appreciated.

  • JQuery Help: toggle() is not working properly

    - by John Smith
    Hi All, I'm trying to use JQuery toggle functionality, but not able to use properly. Instead of smooth slide up and down, it goes very fast and not in an animated manner. I want to achieve sliding effect in my code, like this has (Please see Website Design, Redesign Services slider): Here is my code: HTML: <div> <div class="jquery_inner_mid"> <div class="main_heading"> <a href="#"> <img src="features.jpg" alt="" title="" border="0" /></a> </div> <div class="plus_sign"> <img id="imgFeaturesEx" src="images/plus.jpg" alt="" title="" border="0" /> <img id="imgFeaturesCol" src="images/minus.jpg" alt="" title="" border="0" /></div> <div class="toggle_container"> <div id="divMain" > </div> </div> </div> <div class="jquery_inner_mid"> <div class="main_heading"> <img src="About.jpg" alt="" title="" /></div> <div class="plus_sign"> <img id="imgTechnoEx" src="images/plus.jpg" alt="" title="" border="0" /> <img id="imgTechnoCol" src="images/minus.jpg" alt="" title="" border="0" /></div> <div class="toggle_container"> <div id="divTechnossus" > </div> </div> </div> </div> JQuery: $(function() { document.getElementById('imgFeaturesCol').style.display = 'none'; document.getElementById('imgTechnoCol').style.display = 'none'; $('#imgFeaturesEx').click(function() { $.getJSON("/Visitor/GetFeatureInfo", null, function(strInfo) { document.getElementById('divMain').innerHTML = strInfo; }); $("#divMain").toggle("slow"); document.getElementById('imgFeaturesEx').style.display = 'none'; document.getElementById('imgFeaturesCol').style.display = 'block'; }); $('#imgFeaturesCol').click(function() { document.getElementById('divMain').innerHTML = ""; $("#divMain").toggle("slow"); document.getElementById('imgFeaturesCol').style.display = 'none'; document.getElementById('imgFeaturesEx').style.display = 'block'; }); $('#imgTechnoEx').click(function() { $.getJSON("/Visitor/GetTechnossusInfo", null, function(strInfo) { document.getElementById('divTechnossus').innerHTML = strInfo; }); $("#divTechnossus").slideToggle("slow"); document.getElementById('imgTechnoEx').style.display = 'none'; document.getElementById('imgTechnoCol').style.display = 'block'; }); $('#imgTechnoCol').click(function() { document.getElementById('divTechnossus').innerHTML = ""; $("#divTechnossus").slideToggle("slow"); document.getElementById('imgTechnoCol').style.display = 'none'; document.getElementById('imgTechnoEx').style.display = 'block'; }); });

  • Is there a better way to create an object-oriented class with jquery?

    - by Devon
    I use the jquery extend function to extend a class prototype. For example: MyWidget = function(name_var) { this.init(name_var); } $.extend(MyWidget.prototype, { // object variables widget_name: '', init: function(widget_name) { // do initialization here this.widget_name = widget_name; }, doSomething: function() { // an example object method alert('my name is '+this.widget_name); } }); // example of using the class built above var widget1 = new MyWidget('widget one'); widget1.doSomething(); Is there a better way to do this? Is there a cleaner way to create the class above with only one statement instead of two?

  • jQuery Tablesorter - column not sorting alphabetically

    - by McGirl
    I'm not sure what's going wrong here. This is the page: http://www.utexas.edu/ssw/cswr/projects/project-list/ The first column sorts, but it isn't returning data in the correct order (alphabetical). The table itself is being generated by a custom PHP function that pulls info from a WordPress database. I thought that might be the issue, but as you can see the fourth column (End Date) sorts correctly. I also thought it might be the links in the first column that were messing things up, but adding the text-extraction code from this page broke the sorting altogether. This is the jQuery code I'm current using to call Tablesorter: <script type="text/javascript" id="js"> jQuery(document).ready(function($) { $(document).ready(function() { // call the tablesorter plugin, the magic happens in the markup $("#projectTable").tablesorter({ // pass the headers argument and assing a object //debug: true, //sortList: [[0,0]], headers: { 0: { // set the column to sort as text sorter: 'text', }, // assign the secound column (we start counting zero) 1: { // disable it by setting the property sorter to false sorter: false, }, // assign the third column (we start counting zero) 2: { // disable it by setting the property sorter to false sorter: false }, 3: { sorter:'digit' } } }); // Works only with plugin modification $("#projectTable").bind("sortStart",function(e) { if( $(e.target).hasClass('header') ) { $("#overlay").show(); } }).bind("sortEnd",function(e) { if( $(e.target).hasClass('header') ) { $("#overlay").hide(); } }); }); }); </script> Thanks for your help!

  • PHP sessions and class members.

    - by JDW
    Ok, messing about with classes in PHP and can't get it to work the way I'm used to as a C++/Java-guy. In the "_init" funtion, if I run a query at the "// query works here" line", everythong works, but in the "getUserID" function, all that happens is said warning... "getUserID" gets called from login.php (they are in the same dir): login.php <?php include_once 'sitehandler.php'; include_once 'dbhandler.php'; session_start(); #TODO: Safer input handling $t_userName = $_POST["name"]; $t_userId = $_SESSION['handler']['db']->getUserID($t_userName); if ($t_userId != -1) { $_SESSION['user']['name'] = $t_userName; $_SESSION['user']['id'] = $t_userId; } //error_log("user: " . $_SESSION['user']['name'] . ", id: ". $_SESSION['user']['id']); header("Location: " . $_SERVER["HTTP_REFERER"]); ? dbhandler.php <?php include_once 'handler.php'; class DBHandler extends HandlerAbstract { private $m_handle; function __construct() { parent::__construct(); } public function test() { #TODO: isdir liquibase #TODO: isfile liquibase-195/liquibase + .bat + execrights $this->m_isTested = true; } public function _init() { if (!$this->isTested()) $this->test(); if (!file_exists('files/data.db')) { #TODO: How to to if host is Windows based? exec('./files/liquibase-1.9.5/liquibase --driver=org.sqlite.JDBC --changeLogFile=files/data_db.xml --url=jdbc:sqlite:files/data.db update'); #TODO: quit if not success } #TODO: Set with default data try { $this->m_handle = new SQLite3('files/data.db'); } catch (Exception $e) { die("<hr />" . $e->getMessage() .
