View Source and Chrome Developer Tools showing different output

I have a page located here. Viewing it in Chrome and Firefox show a really small h1 title, and also it changes color as if it is a link. The template that generates everything looks exactly how it should be. When diagnosing the issue, the relevant section of code looks like this when I go to view source: <div class="page-heading"> <h1>Title Here</h1> </div> However, when I go to view it in Chrome's Developer tools, it is throwing in extraneous malformed anchor tags, which is obviously causing the hovering behavior. This is what it looks like to the dev tools: <div class="page-heading"> <h1> <a style="font-family: arial; font-size: 9px" <="" a="">Title Here</a> </h1> </div> In addition, when viewing a local copy of the site, the output shown in the dev tools is the same as viewing the source and they both render correctly locally. Oddly enough, all version of IE render it correctly. The current version of both Chrome and Firefox both render it weirdly. Initially I thought it may be a user agent stylesheet problem, but if anything the CSS is fine, it's the HTML that is malformed.

How do I access a <form> that is not the master page <form>?

Winforms developer converting to web developer. I know the part about the Master Page having the tag, what is not clear is if I can or can not have another in one of my content pages. I have been seeing both answers doing searches. I see yes you can if only one has runat=server. The thing is I have a that contains several radio buttons on a web page that has a master page. I have a .js file that has a function if I send the name into it, it will loop thru the controls in the form to see which one is selected and return the desired date horizon(MTD, QTD, YTD, etc.). When I run this on a non master page web page it works fine. However, when I run on a web page that has a master page I can't seem to get to the element. I tried getElementByID, I tried looping through the page elements, etc. Maybe I am going about this incorrectly and I hope someone can straighten me out. Here is the code from my .js file that may help explain what I am trying to do a little better. var frmDateRanges = document.getElementById(formFieldName); var chosen; var len = frmDateRanges.DateRanges.length; for(i=0;i<len;i++) { if(frmDateRanges.DateRanges[i].checked) { chosen = frmDateRanges.DateRanges[i].value; } } where formFieldName is an arguement that is passed into the function and DateRanges is the name value given to the radio buttons. In the button I call this function I have: onclick ="FunctionCall('frmDateRanges')" FunctionCall is just for description purposes, 'frmDateRanges' is the name and id given to the form action="" Thanks for the help as I am stumped at this point. If there is a better way to do this please let me know that as well.

Displaying count for current_user 'likes' on a 'question' in questions/show.html.erb view

I have an application that allows for users to create questions, create answers to questions, and 'like' answers of others. When a current_user lands on the /views/questions/show.html.erb page I am trying to display the total 'likes' for all answers on that question, for the current_user. In my Likes table I am collecting the question_id, site_id and the user_id and I have the appropriate associations set up between user, question, answers and likes. I think I just need to call this information the right way, which I can't seem to figure out. All of the below is taking place in the /views/questions/show.html.erb page. I have tried the following: <% div_for current_user do %> You have liked this question <%= @question.likes.count %> times <% end %> Which returns all the 'likes' for the question but not filtered by current_user You have liked this question <%= current_user.question.likes.count %> times Which gives an error of 'undefined method `question' You have liked this question <%= @question.current_user.likes.count %> times Which gives an error of 'undefined method `current_user' I have tried a couple of other things but they don't make as much sense as the above to me. What am I missing?

Right way to handle friend-multi-select post on facebook, issues with session

Do I need a infinite key with fbml facebook app that resides on fanpage? I am asking user to select user and posting it(facebook posts) to my server. On my server I want to get user_id and selected friends Id. Everything is fine with selected friend_ids, but have issues with getting id of a user. sometimes I can get it all fine, sometimes I am getting session expired exception, sometimes I get nothing. any ideas why this is happening?

Generating HTML Programmatically in C#, Targeting Printed Reports

I've taken over a C# (2.0) code base that has the ability to print information. The code to do this is insanely tedious. Elements are drawn onto each page, with magic constants representing positioning. I imagine the programmer sitting with a ruler, designing each page by measuring and typing in the positions. And yes, one could certainly come up with some nice abstractions to make this approach rational. But I am looking at a different method. The idea is that I'll replace the current code that prints with code that generates static HTML pages, saves them to a file, and then launches the web browser on that file. The most obvious benefit is that I don't have to deal with formatting-- I can let the web browser do that for me with tags and CSS. So what I am looking for is a very lightweight set of classes that I can use to help generate HTML. I don't need anything as heavyweight as HTMLTextWriter. What I'm looking for is something to avoid fragments like this: String.Format("<tr><td>{0}</td><td>{1}</td></tr>", foo, bar); And instead take have this kind of feel: ... table(). tr(). td(foo). td(bar) Or something like that. I've seen lightweight classes like that for other languages but can't find the equivalent (or better) for C#. I can certainly write it myself, but I'm a firm believer in not reinventing wheels. Know anything like this? Know anything better than this?

jQuery .get()/.post() doesn't send an updated cookie

javascript/html/php: Is it possible to insert a value into a form with Ajax?

I have a form where users enter some text manually. Then I'd like to let the users choose a tag from a database through AJAX, not unlike how tag suggestions appear in the SO question form. While the div where the ajax call places the tag is inside the form, it does not seem to register and the tag is not picked up by the form. Am I missing something in my code, is this impossible or, if impossible there a better way to do this? Thanks for any suggestions. What is the proper way to wait a script loaded completely before another

I am making a website that is divided by several sections <div id='section-1' class='section'>web content</div> <div id='section-2' class='section'>web content</div> I have like ten sections on my webpage ,each sections height is set to the user window height when document is ready by javascript $('.section').height($(window).height()); Some effects like slideshows on my webpage require the calculated height of the section in order to work properly. Therefore I always use something like this at document ready as a solution. setTimeout(startslideshow,1000); setTimeout(startanimations,1000); ...etc To make sure the section height is the user window height before the slideshow's code start because the sections cannot change to user window height instantly once the webpage loaded will generate serious problems in my slideshow code,like wrong calculated positions. Therefore there will be a situation that's after the page loaded, there will be about a second everything is messed up,before everything can works properly, how could I avoid that being seen by the user? I tried to $(document).hide(),or $('html,body').hide(), then fade in after a second,but I get other weird problems, especially on ipad,my fixed position top navigation bar will always become 'not fixed' while user is scrolling. As I am a self-learner, I afraid my method is not typical. I want to know what is the common ways of real web programmers usually do when they have to divide his webpage into different sections and set its height to window height , then make sure the other effects that's depends on the section height works properly and avoid to wait the height change for a second?

Fiddle Full Screen Example I use jQuery dialog to open tables. Some of them have a large amount of text and they tend to be too long and go way off the screen. How can I make the dialog wider if the table is too long like the first one in the fiddle? I've tried width:'auto' but it seems to just occupy the entire screen. Margin-Top push outer div down

Hello, I have a header div as the first element in my wrapper div, but when I add a top margin to a h1 inside the header div it pushes the entire header div down. I realize this happens whenever I apply a top margin to the first visible element on a page. Here is a sample of the css. I have installed VS2010 and MVC2 and testing a simple form using tinyMCE. When I post the contents of the textarea in tinyMCE I get the dreaded YSD and the message "a potentially dangerous....." HTTP post using php and curl failing

I am trying to send an XML file to an external system. I am using the below code for doing so, which I got over the internet. But I observed that when i put an echo on the xml variable, it does not show me the XML as a string, but it is parsing the xml and showing me the values. Same is happening when I am sending this to external system. Which is failing. Can you please tell me a way, in which the XML is not parsed and I can send the entire XML text as a string to external system? Matching up text in 2 different columns in a table?

Hey guys, I have recently been working on a pastebin script (for fun) and I've come across a problem that I can't seem to solve in CSS. I have a table with 2 columns. 1 column is used to display the line numbers and the 2nd column is used to display the code. I can't seem to get the numbers match up with the lines in the code so it looks all weird (example: www.zamnproductions.com/paste.php?id=32). How to align all fields as label width grows

I have a form where the labels are on the left and the fields on the right. This layout works great when the labels have small amounts of text. I can easily set a min-width on the labels to ensure they all have the same distance to the fields. In the first picture below, this works as expected. A problem arises when the label's text becomes too long, it'll either overflow to the next line or push the field on the same line over to the left (as seen in picture 2). This doesn't push the other labels so it is left with a "jagged" look. Ideally, it should like to style it as picture 3 with something like the following markup: <fieldset> <label>Name</label><input type="text" /><br /> <label>Username</label><input type="text" /> </fieldset> I created a jsFiddle to show the issue. Of course, the easy cross-browser way to solve this would be to use tables. That just creates tag-hell for something that should be so simple. Note: this does not need to support IE6.

Building html structure in php or javascript?

I've been doing a lot of ajax calls and using the returned data to build html with javascript. However, I've noticed some people are returning the constructed html in the ajax calls since they're doing it all in php. What is the preferred method? I have a bunch of stuff already using javascript, so I guess I would prefer not changing everything to use just php. But, I'm assuming php would be more "secure."? How do I force a DIV block to extend to the bottom of a page even if it has no content?

In the markup shown below, I'm trying to get the content div to stretch all the way to the bottom of the page but it's only stretching if there's content to display. The reason I want to do this is so the vertical border still appears down the page even if there isn't any content to display. How do I prevent a <td> from being too high?

It must be something stupid, but I can't figure it out so far... How do I center this form in css?

I have tried everything. I cannot get this centered on the screen. I am using ie 9 but it does the same in chrome. It just sits on the left of the webpage.
