• How to upload files to server using JSP/Servlet?

  How can I upload files to server using JSP/Servlet? I tried this: <form action="upload" method="post"> <input type="text" name="description" /> <input type="file" name="file" /> <input type="submit" /> </form> However, I only get the file name, not the file content. When I add enctype="multipart/form-data" to the <form>, then request.getParameter() returns null. During research I stumbled upon Apache Common FileUpload. I tried this: FileItemFactory factory = new DiskFileItemFactory(); ServletFileUpload upload = new ServletFileUpload(factory); List items = upload.parseRequest(request); // This line is where it died. But i can configure the device to send the data over port 80. so we wrote a genericservlet to capture this data on GAE.   Hello, I an quite new to jQuery and I have a problem while trying to create a form. I am using the Validation plugin for validate the email (one the form's field). When I click the Submit button I want to call my own function because I want to save the data in an XML file.   I am trying to write a python program using Python 3 I have to open a text file and read a list of names, print the list, sort the list in alphabetical order and then finally re-print the list. There's a little more to it than that BUT the problem I am having is that I'm supposed to print the list of names with each name on a separate line Instead of printing each name on a separate line, it prints the list all on one line. • AVAudioRecorder prepareToRecord works, but record fails

  I just built and tested a basic AVAudioRecorder/AVAudioPlayer sound recorder and player. Eventually I got this working on the device, as well as the simulator. My player/recorder code is in a single UIView subclass. Unfortunately, when I copy the class into my main project, it no longer works (on the device--the simulator is fine). prepareToRecord is working fine, but record isn't.   I'm trying to send a couple of values from an android application to a web service which I've setup. I'm using Http Post to send them but when I run the application I get the error- request time failed java.net.SocketException: Address family not supported by protocol. I get this while debugging with both the emulator as well as a device connected by wifi. • select failing with C program but not shell

  So I have a parent and child process, and the parent can read output from the child and send to the input of the child. So far, everything has been working fine with shell scripts, testing commands which input and output data. I just tested with a simple C program and couldn't get it to work. • How to find which file is open in eclipse editor without using IEditorPart?

  I want to know which file (or even project is enough) is opened in eclipse editor? I know we can do this once we get IEditorPart from doSetInput method, IFile file = ((IFileEditorInput) iEditorPart).getFile(); But I want the name of file without using IEditorPart, how can I do the same? Checking which is the selected file in project explorer is not of much help because, user can select multiple files at once and open all simultaneously and I did not way to distinguish which file opened at what time. Adding more info: I have an editor specified for a particular type of file, now every time it opens, during intializing editor I have some operation to do based on project properties. While initializing editor, I need the file handle (of the one which user opened/double clicked) or the corresponding project handle. In the source viewer configuration file, I set the code scanners and this needs some project specific information that will set the corresponding rules.

• Terminate function on System.in .. possible?

  I am currently working on a project where I have to make an agent to interact with a server. Each 50ms, the server will receive the last thing I outputted to System.out and send me a new set of lines as a 'state' through the System.in printstream to analyze and send my next message to System.out. Also, if the server receives multiple outputs from me, it only regards the most recent one. .. As for my question: My program originally constructed a tree and then analyzed each leaf node to see which would be optimal, and then waited around for the next input, but I can recursively do a deeper tree search that would make my output 'better' (and again and again to keep returning a better result). Using this and the fact that if the server receives multiple outputs, it only takes the most recent one, I could do each level, print my result and start the next level. But here comes my problem... I can't be stuck in some complex algorithm while I am supposed to receiving the next input as I will then miss it. So I was wondering if there is a way to cancel anything else I am doing when I receive something via System.in and then go back to the beginning of the function and start the search again with the new set of input (and rinse and repeat..) • Piping EOF problems with stdio and C++/Python

  I got some problems with EOF and stdio. I have no idea what I am doing wrong. When I see an EOF in my program I clear the stdin and next round I try to read in a new line. The problem is: for some reason the getline function immediatly (from the second run always, the first works just as intended) returns an EOF instead of waiting for a new input from py python process... • Are CMAttitude and CATransform3D related by rotational matrices?

  I'm looking at the core motion class CMAttitude, it can express the device's orientation as a 3x3 rotational matrix. At the same time I've taken a look at the CATransform3D, which encapsulates the view's attitude, as well as scaling. The CATransform3D is a 4x4 matrix. I've seen that the OpenGL rotational matrix is 4x4 and is simply 0001 padded in the 4th row and column. I'm wandering if the CMAttitude's rotational matrix is related to CATransform's matrix? Can I use the device's rotation in space obtained via a rotational matrix to transform a UIView using CATransform3D? My intention is to let the user move the phone and apply the same transform to a UIView on the screen. Bonus question: if they are related, how do I transform a CMAttitude's rotational matrix to CATransform3D?

  Hi, I am learning programming in embedded systems using Linux as my main platform. And I want to create a Device Event Management Service. This service is a user-space application/daemon that will detect if a connected hardware module triggered an event. But my problem is I don't know where should I start. I read about Netlink implementation for userspace-kernelspace communication and it seems its a good idea but not sure if it is the best solution. But I read that the UDEV device manager uses Netlink to wait a "uevent" from the kernel space but it is not clear for me how to do that. I read about polling sysfs but it seems it is not a good idea to poll filesystem. What do you think the implementation that should I use in my service? Should I use netlink(hard/no clue how to) or just polling the sysfs(not sure if it works)? Thanks

  I want to create games for Iphone/Ipod touch. Unfortunately I don't have a lot of money so I can buy only one device. Ipod is cheaper than Iphone, so I decided to bought Ipod touch. But I am afraid of buying 3rd generation - because it has more memory, more faster CPU, etc. And I think if I post my app on appstore - people with 2nd generation Ipod might have trouble with my app (because I was testing it on 3rd generation). But on the other hand - I am planning to create 3d/cpu demanding game - and it would be easy for me to implement it on device with more calculation power... What should I do in this situation? • DataType for storing a long serial number (10 bytes)

  We have a device which has a 10 byte serial number which must be read into our application and stored into a .net datatype. In the device it is stored as an unsigned 10-byte (80-bit) number. I don't expect we will be performing any mathematical operations on this number, but only displaying it to the user. The .NET framework doesn't have a built in UNIT128 to store this datatype. My suggestion for storing this datatype is to create a 10 element byte array and read in the data into this array. Are there any better solutions to this problem? Note: I have seen in this question that a GUID is a 128 byte signed integer, but it seems like a bad idea to use a GUID in this fashion. Any other suggestions?
