  Does anyone have any ideas how to design a website with an iframe inside , like a gallery , to browse inside urls , but still remain on the basic site ? • php date() stuck

  I am getting the date from my mysql database and that date is correct but when I use the date() function the minute part is stuck a 6 minutes. My mysql is returning 2010-06-15 09:59:18 Then in php I use this code: date('M d,Y H:m A',strtotime($row[4])) ** $row[4] is from my while loop ** When I echo this out I get: Jun 15,2010 9:06 AM I also have tried converting it to unix timestamp in my sql query, does the same thing. I noticed that the hours work and the seconds work but the minutes are stuck at 6. Does anyone have any ideas on what is going on?

  Hi, I am wondering what this line of code mean? b = (gen_rand_uniform()>0.5)?1:0; The gren_rand_uniform() is a function to generate random 0 and 1 numbers. However I don't get the meaning for >0.5 and 1:0. I know this is supposed to be a basic question, please bear with me. Thanks!

• Inotifywait doesn't run command

  I have a basic inotifywait script called watch.sh and a few files ending in .styl in the same directory. Here's the script, that catches the changes, but doesn't execute the code within the do/done I init it like sh watch.sh and here's the script #!/bin/sh while inotifywait -m -o ./log.txt -e modify ./*.styl; do stylus -c %f done I tried having echo "hi" within the exec portion but nothing executes

• SSH and Latent Connections (e.g., satellite connections)

  Most of the week I live in the city where I have a typical broadband connection, but most weekends I'm out of town and only have access to a satellite connection. Trying to work over SSH on a satellite connection, while possible, is hardly desirable due to the high latency ( 1 second). My question is this: Is there any software that will do something like buffering keystrokes on my local machine before they're sent over SSH to help make the lag on individual keystrokes a little bit more transparent? Essentially I'm looking for something that would reduce the effects of the high latency for everything except for commands (e.g., opening files, changing to a new directory, etc.). I've already discovered that vim can open remote files locally and rewrite them remotely, but, while this is a huge help, it is not quite what I'm looking for since it only works when editing files, and requires opening a connection every time a read/write occurs. (For anyone who may not know how to do this and is curious, just use this command: 'vim scp://host/file/path/here)

  I am looking to build a widget for a site which allows users to tag images from individual frames of a video file but would prefer not to have to build a custom Flash tool. Is there an existing free library or framework which simplifies things like this in a webapplication setting? Features would also involve basic video playback functionality as well as time-driven meta-data and the ability to extract images from individual video frames. Are there existing open-source web-based tools for video manipulation other than building your own custom Flash app?

• Change MacOS X guest screen resolution for VirtualBox

  I have tried all alternatives and resources that I found on internet to achieve to change screen resolution in my MacOS X guest. I have the latest VirtualBox version (4.1.22) and I have MacOS X 10.6.3 Snow Leopard running in a vm guest. Some solutions that don't work for me are: Tuning virtual machine settings: Adding and in the .vbox file, or running these two commands: vboxmanage setextradata "MAC OS X" "CustomVideoMode1" "1360x768x32" vboxmanage setextradata "MAC OS X" "GUI/CustomVideoMode1" "1360x768x32" Editing Guest OS boot configuration: Modify /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.boot.plist with these lines: <key>Kernel Flags</key> <string>"Graphics Mode"="1360x768x32"</string> <key>Graphics Mode</key> <string>1360x768x32</string> Any other suggestion, something that I was missing. • Squid3 not working. Access denied.

  I installed SQUID3 on a Linux machine with two ethernet interfaces (eth0 and eth1). I used the default settings in the squid.conf file and uncommented the two lines acl localnet src 192.168.0.0/16 and http_access allow localnet. eth0 is connected to a router, which provides Internet access. It is assigned an IP 192.168.1.2 by the router. I manually configured eth1 to have an IP address 192.168.5.1. It is connected to a switch. Systems having IP addresses 192.168.5.x are connected to this switch. I ran these two commands for NAT: iptables -t nat -A PREROUTING -i eth1 -p tcp -m tcp --dport 80 -j DNAT --to-destination 192.168.5.1:3128 iptables -t nat -A PREROUTING -i eth0 -p tcp -m tcp --dport 80 -j REDIRECT --to-ports 3128 But when I try to access internet from a system having IP 192.168.5.2 through the proxy I get an error that says "Access denied". What is wrong with my configuration?

• Creating quick GUI front ends

  Hi, I wanted to have a GUI front-end for a script that accepts numerous command-line options, most of them are UNIX paths. So I thought rather than typing them in (even with auto-completion) every time, I'd create a GUI front end which contains text boxes with buttons beside them, which when clicked will invoke the file browser dialogue. Later, I thought I'd extend this to other scripts which would sure require a different set of GUI elements. This made me think if there's any existing app that would let me create a GUI dialog, after parsing some kind of description of the items that I want that window should contain. I know of programs like Zenity, but I think it's doesn't give me what I want. For example, if I were to use it for the first script, it'll end up flashing sequence of windows in succession rather than getting everything done from a single window. So, basically I'm looking at some program that lets me create a window from a text description, probably XML or the like. Please suggest. Thanks Jeenu

• cPanel IPTables custom rules

  Hi, I'm trying to allow a host access to port 3306 by IP. I've added the rule and ran an iptables-save and also service iptables save. These commands show as "OK" with no reported errors. And this works absolutely fine. Now, the server hasn't been restarted at all since I've been having this problem, but every day when I start developing on the server that needs mySQL access, it reports that the connection is refused. Back on the mySQL server, all I need to do is service iptables restart and everything then works as normal. The mySQL server is a CentOS cPanel VPS running on OpenVZ. Anyone know how I can make these rules persist? Is it something cPanel is doing overnight that is messing with my config? Thanks.

• `wget` is not recognized or either can't find the file

  if i use cd C:\Program Files (x86)\GnuWin32\bin then i'm able to use wget commands for example: wget http://www.ultralightnews.com/trikes/images/trikes/dfs-singletrike.jpg but i can't find the file back, i looked in c:\ and in the bin folder mentioned above and in GnuWin32\etc If i try wget -O C:\Users\clankill3r\Downloads\wgetfolder wget http://www.ultralightnews.com/trikes/images/trikes/dfs-singletrike.jpg then it says Permision denied, i did allow all permisions possible for every group / user. Some people say it downloads to the current folder your working in (that's why i looked in the bin). But i thought let's try to run the command from another folder so i used: 'cd C:\Users\clankill3r\Downloads\wgetfolderand then the wget comman but then it says thewget` command is not recognized. can someone help?

• How to detect an iPhone connecting a network?

  I've noticed through watching Wireshark that when an iPhone connects to a wifi network, it sends out a few IGMP/MDNS packets to 224.0.0.251 (LAN broadcast, I think). Is there any easy way to watch for these packets and then either run a script or send an event? Or, is the best way to just run a packet sniffer? Any simple ones that can send events or execute curl commands when a filter is triggered?   I want to remotely control my home desktop PC (running Windows 7 Professional), mainly to perform the following tasks: Downloading email attachments, and sending emails with attachments Running UI-less programs whose only inputs are files and whose only outputs are files So far, the only solution I have found is to use Remote Desktop to connect to my PC, but this is very slow and inefficient, especially when there is no fast Internet connection available other than my cell phone's. I would like to be able to send batch commands to my PC, like: Download an email attachment Use it as input for an UI-less program Save the program's output to a file Send that file to myself as an email attachment Is this possible?
