  Hello guys, I am sending a SOAP request to my server and getting the response back. sample of the response string is shown below: <?xml version = '1.0' ?> <env:Envelope xmlns:env=http:////www.w3.org/2003/05/soap-envelop . .. .. <env:Body> <epas:get-all-config-resp xmlns:epas="urn:organization:epas:soap"> ^M ... ... <epas:property name="Tom">12</epas:property> > > <epas:property name="Alice">34</epas:property> > > <epas:property name="John">56</epas:property> > > <epas:property name="Danial">78</epas:property> > > <epas:property name="George">90</epas:property> > > <epas:property name="Luise">11</epas:property> ... ^M </env:Body? </env:Envelop> What I noticed in the response is that there is an extra character shown in the body which is "^M". Not sure if this could be the issue. Note the ^M shown! when I tried parsing the string returned from the server to get the names and values using the code sample: elements = minidom.parseString(xmldoc).getElementsByTagName("property") myDict = {} for element in elements: myDict[element.getAttribute('name')] = element.firstChild.data But, I am getting this error: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'data'. May be its something to do with the "^M" shown on the xml response back! Any ideas/comments would be appreciated, Cheers

• JCo | How to iterate column wise

  The data from SAP is returned as a JCo.Table. However, we don't want to display ALL the columns in the VIEW. So, what we have done is, we have created a file called display.xml which has the JCO.Table columns to be displayed.   Does anyone know how to get a CodeDomProvider in the new Microsoft.VisualStudio.TextTemplating.VSHost.BaseCodeGeneratorWithSite from the Visual Studio 2010 SDK? I used to get access to it just by in mere inheritance of the class Microsoft.CustomTool.BaseCodeGeneratorWithSite, but now with this new class it is not there. I see a GlobalServiceProvider and a SiteServiceProvider but I can't find any example on how to use them.   With html below I expected that the green rectangle would occupy only half of the screen, but on practice it occupies the whole screen width. I tried other values for viewport width, no luck. Basically, I want to be able to access the items from "items_last_week" and create a list of them - originally my plan was to have the 'thumbnail' on the left with the 'item' next to it, but from playing around with the SDK today it appears too difficult or impossible to achieve this, so I would be more than happy with just having the 'item' data from 'items_last_week' in the list. Coming from php I'm struggling to use any of the JSON libraries which are available to Java, as it appears to be much more than a line of code which I will need to deserialize (I think that's the right word) the JSON, and they all appear to require some form of additional class, apart from the JSONArray/JSONObject script I have which doesn't like the fact that items_last_week is nested (again, I think that's the JSON terminology) and takes an awful long time to run on the Android emulator. So, in effect, I need a (preferably simple) way to pass the items_last_week data to a ListView. I understand I will need a custom adapter which I can probably get my head around but I cannot understand, no matter how much of the day I've just spent trying to figure it out, how to access certain parts of a JSON string..

  I am trying to learn and understand name mangling in C++. Here are some questions: (1) From devx When a global function is overloaded, the generated mangled name for each overloaded version is unique. Name mangling is also applied to variables. Thus, a local variable and a global variable with the same user-given name still get distinct mangled names. Are there other examples that are using name mangling, besides overloading functions and same-name global and local variables ? (2) From Wiki The need arises where the language allows different entities to be named with the same identifier as long as they occupy a different namespace (where a namespace is typically defined by a module, class, or explicit namespace directive). I don't quite understand why name mangling is only applied to the cases when the identifiers belong to different namespaces, since overloading functions can be in the same namespace and same-name global and local variables can also be in the same space. How to understand this? Do variables with same name but in different scopes also use name mangling? (3) Does C have name mangling? If it does not, how can it deal with the case when some global and local variables have the same name? C does not have overloading functions, right? Thanks and regards!

• Querying a database using Cocoa.

  Hello everybody. Before I start a disclaimer, I should add a little disclaimer, that I am relatively new to Cocoa development and C in general. However I do have a copy of 'Cocoa Programming for Mac OS X 3rd edition' by Aaron Hillegass, which I am working through and using as a base, if anybody has a copy I am using the 'AmaZone' example on page 346 as a template and base. I trying to develop a small client app that takes a search string then displays results from a database accordingly. The database will contain a: list of files, their location, description & creation date, so for the moment the field number and types will remain the same. After looking around on SO, I saw something like: NSURL *myURL = [NSURL URLWithString:@"http://www.myserver.com/results.php"]; NSArray *sqlResults = [[NSArray alloc] initWithContentsOfURL:myURL]; I've worked with php before, so my current thinking after seeing this is create a php script on the server that queries the database, and creates an XML output. And with the XML response, just parse it. Would this be ok? as is there any major pitfalls anybody can see, that I can't. I know there are some database bundles, I've had a look at BaseTen for Postgres, but being relatively new to this, didn't want to get in over my head. Or if anybody else has any other suggestions and ideas, they would be greatly appreciated.

• Hadoop reduce task gets hung

  I set up a hadoop cluster with 4 nodes, When running a map-reduce task, the map task finishes quickly, while the reduce task hangs at 27% percent. I checked the log, it's that the reduce task fails to fetch map output from map nodes. The job tracker log of master shows messages like this: 2011-06-27 19:55:14,748 INFO org.apache.hadoop.mapred.JobTracker: Adding task (REDUCE) 'attempt_201106271953_0001_r_000000_0' to tip task_201106271953_0001_r_000000, for tracker 'tracker_web30.bbn.com.cn:localhost/127.0.0.1:56476' And the name node log of master shows messages like this: 2011-06-27 14:00:52,898 INFO org.apache.hadoop.ipc.Server: IPC Server handler 4 on 54310, call register(DatanodeRegistration(202.106.199.39:50010, storageID=DS-1989397900-202.106.199.39-50010-1308723051262, infoPort=50075, ipcPort=50020)) from 192.168.225.19:16129: error: java.io.IOException: verifyNodeRegistration: unknown datanode 202.106.199.3 9:50010 However, neither the "web30.bbn.com.cn" or 202.106.199.39, 202.106.199.3 is the slave node. I think such ip/domains appear because hadoop fails to resolve a node(first in the Intranet DNS server), then it goes to a higher-level DNS server, later to the top, still fails, then the "junk" ip/domains are returned. But I checked my config, it goes like this: /etc/hosts: 127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost ::1 localhost6.localdomain6 localhost6 192.168.225.16 master 192.168.225.66 slave1 192.168.225.20 slave5 192.168.225.17 slave17 conf/core-site.xml: hadoop.tmp.dir /root/hadoop_tmp/hadoop_${user.name} fs.default.name hdfs://master:54310 io.sort.mb 1024 hdfs-site.xml: dfs.replication 3 masters: master slaves: master slave1 slave5 slave17 Also, all firewalls(iptables) are turned off, and ssh between each 2 nodes is ok. so I don't know where exact the error comes from. I am using doc a from java code, I am do Caching for doc a as a javax.xml.transform.Templates object to prevent multiple reads to the xsl file on every transformation request. I found that, the doc b is re-calling itself from the harddisk, I believe this is because of the document('') function above, so I wanna replace/remove it. Thanks.

  I am aware of this command: cvs log -N -w<userid> -d"1 day ago" Unfortunately this generates a formatted report with lots of newlines in it, such that the file-path, the file-version, and the comment-text are all on separate lines. Therefore it is difficult to scan it for all occurrences of comment text, (eg, grep), and correlate the matches to file/version. (Note that the log output would be perfectly acceptable, if only cvs could perform the filtering natively.) EDIT: Sample output. • SharePoint Item Event Receivers and Site Creation

  I have created an Item Event Receiver for a document library and I have test that the logic works correctly and it all does. The next thing I wanted to do is automatically create the list when a site is created so I added the list to the ONET.xml file for the site: <Lists> <List Title="Documents" Description="Documents " url="MyDocumentLibrary" Type="10002" FeatureId="CFD8504D-70EB-4ba2-9CCB-52E38DB39E60" QuickLaunchUrl="Docs/AllItems.aspx" /> </Lists> And I ensure that the feature for this list is also activated be adding the feature to the <WebFeatures> <Feature ID="CFD8504D-70EB-4ba2-9CCB-52E38DB39E60" /> </WebFeatures> The problem occurs after I create the site, when I add a document to the list the Item Event Receiver does not run. However if I manually for to the web site features and deactivate and then reactivate the feature the Item Event Receiver does run. It seems that when creating a list through the ONET.xml and activating the feature it does not bind the Item Event Receiver to the list. What is the work around for this? Is this a bug?

• Adding an ADO.NET Entity Data Model throws build errors

  I am using Visual Studio 2013 express. I create a new project and then I add a database to that project. But, when I add an ADO.NET Entity Framework model to that project and then run the program, I get the following four build errors listed below. To try to remedy this myself, I added the namespaces 'System.Data.Entity' and 'System.Data.Entity.Design', but that didn't help. Also, I uninstalled and re-installed the Nuget package. I also uninstalled and re-installed Visual Studio 2013 Express for Windows Desktop. But these measures didn't help the situation either. Please note that I used to use the Entity Data model just fine. But it was around the time that I did a system restore on my computer, and when I updated VS 2013 with an update offered on the start page, and finally, when I signed up for MS Azure, that I started running into the problem described above. Now I would think that uninstalling and reinstalling Visual Studio 2013, and then installing the 'Nuget' Package would solve all problems. What am I missing here? The errors mentioned above are: Error 1 The type or namespace name 'Infrastructure' does not exist in the namespace 'System.Data.Entity' (are you missing an assembly reference?) • Using SiteMesh with RequestDispatcher's forward()

  I'm attempting to integrate SiteMesh into a legacy application using Tomcat 5 as my a container. I have a main.jsp that I'm decorating with a simple decorator. In decorators.xml, I've just got one decorator defined: <decorators defaultdir="/decorators"> <decorator name="layout-main" page="layout-main.jsp"> <pattern>/jsp/main.jsp</pattern> </decorator> </decorators> This decorator works if I manually go to http://example.com/my-webapp/jsp/main.jsp. However, there are a few places where a servlet, instead of doing a redirect to a jsp, does a forward: getServletContext().getRequestDispatcher("/jsp/main.jsp").forward(request, response); This means that the URL remains at something like http://example.com/my-webapp/servlet/MyServlet instead of the jsp file and is therefore not being decorated, I presume since it doesn't match the pattern in decorators.xml. I can't do a <pattern>/*</pattern> because there are other jsps that do not need to be decorated by layout-main.jsp. I can't do a <pattern>/servlet/MyServlet*</pattern> because MyServlet may forward to main.jsp sometimes and perhaps error.jsp at other times. Is there a way to work around this without expansive changes to how the servlets work? Since it's a legacy app I don't have as much freedom to change things, so I'm hoping for something configuration-wise that will fix this. SiteMesh's documentation really isn't that great. I've been working mostly off the example application that comes with the distribution. I really like SiteMesh, and am hoping I can get it to work in this case.

  My job is the maintain one application which heavy use SQL server (MSSQL2005). Until now middle server stores TSQL codes in XML and send dynamic TSQL queries without using stored procs. As I am able change those XML queries I want to migrate most of my queries to stored procs. Question is folowing: Most of my queries have same Where conditions against one table Sample: Select ..... from .... where .... and (a.vrsta_id = @vrsta_id or @vrsta_id = 0) and (a.podvrsta_id = @podvrsta_id or @podvrsta_id = 0) and (a.podgrupa_2 = @podgrupa2_id or @podgrupa2_id = 0) and ( (a.id in (select art_id from osobina_veze where podosobina_id in (select ado from dbo.fn_ado_param_int(@podosobina)) group by art_id having count(art_id)= @podosobina_count )) or ('0' = @podosobina) ) They also have same where conditions on other table. How I should organize my code ? What is proper way ? Should I make table valued function that I will use in all queries or use #Temp tables and simple inner join my query to that each time when proc executing? or use #temp filed by table valued function ? or leave all queries with this large where clause and hope that index is going to do their jobs. or use WITH(statement)

• Unity Configuration and Same Assembly

  I'm currently getting an error trying to resolve my IDataAccess class. The value of the property 'type' cannot be parsed. The error is: Could not load file or assembly 'TestProject' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified. (C:\Source\TestIoC\src\TestIoC\TestProject\bin\Debug\TestProject.vshost.exe.config line 14) This is inside a WPF Application project. What is the correct syntax to refer to the Assembly you are currently in? is there a way to do this? I know in a larger solution I would be pulling Types from seperate assemblies so this might not be an issue. But what is the right way to do this for a small self-contained test project. Note: I'm only interested in doing the XML config at this time, not the C# (in code) config.
