  • Makefile: finding include/lib for libraries installed through macports

    Libraries/include files installed by macports go in /opt/local/lib and /opt/local/include, neither of which are scanned by gcc/ld by default. As a result, a project I'm working on won't compile in that environment. Should this be fixed by manually adding -L/opt/local/lib to my Makefile's LDFLAGS (and -I... as well), or is there some configuration that should be done to fix this globally on the computer?

  • Access denied when starting sqlexpress from command line

    Windows 7 computer running SQL Server Express 2008 (sp1). When I try to run net start mssql$sqlexpress I receive an error: System error 5 has occurred. Access is denied The SQL service is running under "Network Service" account The service starts fine if I use the services window. Could somebody help me figure out why I am receiving this error?

    I was messing around with sendmail in Rails a year ago and have had this message popping up in the terminal after every command ever since: You have new mail in /var/mail/Lance How do I properly get rid of that so the message goes away? I ever use any of that functionality and don't have mail on my computer. There's one file in /var/mail called lance, and it's huge. Can I just remove it?

My processing would be easier if I could use the File.ReadAllLines method but I'm not sure what is the maximum size of the file that could be read with this method without reading by chunks.     I've got a really nasty problem... I wrote a red5 app and so on and it is running perfectly on my local computer. Now the problem occurs = How can I make this program work on a remote server? Local : OSX 10.5 - red5 0.63 Server: CentOS 5 - red5 0.90 Maybe its because of the version difference... but I can't test red5 0.90 locally becaus it won't start up -.-' and I can't install the 0.63 on the server because of missing dependencies (and broken links to them...)

    Has anyone used Microsoft's UCMA 2.0 SDK to connect to 3CX's free IP PBX to add voice capabilities to their application? If so, does it work? I've experienced outofmemory from my application : Current setting is : -Xmx900m Computer, Windows 2003 Server 32bit, RAM 4GB. Also is changing boot.ini to /3GB on windows, will make any difference? If is set Xmx900m, how much max native memory can be allocated for this process ? is it 1100m ?
