Once I read an MSDN article that encouraged the following programming paradigm: public class MyClass { public void Method1() { NewCustomException(); } public void Method2() { NewCustomException(); } void NewCustomException() { throw new CustomException("Exception message"); } } Do you think this paradigm makes sense? Wouldn't it be enough to store the exception message in a static const field and then pass it to the exception's constructor, instead of encapsulating the whole exception throw?

Pair programming, user stories, short sprints (two weeks), daily stand-ups, retrospectives, planning meetings, quick releases etc. One obviously way to use a tester is to verify bugs fixes and user stories every sprint.   Hi im looking (but cant find) for sample app that will show me how to implement UITableView with custom UITableViewCell that is similar to one in the Things app, with smooth animation from read-only view (that hides empty cells) to editable view that shows only cells that can be edited, and custom cell with multiline input with small image.   Using Java, you can get the list of ISO2 codes through Locale.getISOCountries() (see this related question http://stackoverflow.com/questions/712231/best-way-to-get-a-list-of-countries-in-java). However, I would like to have the list of all country names (in English for example) and not the list of ISO2 country codes. How can I do that by programming in Java or Groovy ? • 3-4 old computers = general purpose cluster?

  I have 3 old computers lying around right now running a P2 at 800 MHz(?), Intel Mobile 1.6 GHz, AMD Athlon XP 2000+ at 1.66 GHz, and (might not use this) P4 at 2.7 GHz, all with 512 MB Ram, and am considering clustering them together for fun/knowledge. They would be running an undecided version of linux, preferably ubuntu based. The issue is what I want to use it for: general computing and occasional video encoding. By general computing I mean day to day tasks. However I'm not sure if every program started by a single X session is going to exist on the same machine, defeating the purpose of such a system. Will programs be split up or exist on one machine? Second, assuming this is running 100baseT ethernet (not sure if the PCI slot itself could handle Gigabit), would the speed of having a program exist over the network be an issue? It seems that the constant asking of various things in RAM would be quite slow. And before you say "buy another computer!", that's not the point of this question. I'm asking would it be usable, not necessarily practical. And yes I know, this is going to be extreamly power consuming.

• Eclipse + PyDev becomes extremely slow with large import

  I'm trying to use Eclipse + PyDev for studying OpenGL programming but when I type from OpenGL.GL import * from OpenGL.GLUT import * IDE becomes extremely slow! Ok. It isn't a smart idea import to much useless things but it's so useful for learning a new library! Any help? PS: I use Ubuntu with Eclipse Galileo.
