  • AcceptButton for each group of controls in different tabs, Can't use some envents in Combobox to mak

    - by Muhammad Kashif Nadeem
I have different tabs on my UserControl. Each tab has some controls and button. I want to change AcceptButton on the basis of group of controls I am in. I can use TextChanged event or Enter event to make a button AcceptButton for Textboxes but I have some Comboboxes too. These combos are auto complete so I can't user Enter event on these, because on Enter these combos should be completed. Following image can explain my problem more. Thanks.

  • OnmouseMove not work with SetTimeOut and Alerts in Chome

    - by Diogo Fernandes
What's wrong with this code? It works in IE and FireFox, but Chrome does not work. The idea is that the function fnTimeOut will be triggered in 5 seconds after onmousemove. It´s ok. But when, in Chrome, I click on the button "ok" to function fnAlert is triggered instantly. It should be shot just 5 seconds after I move the mouse ... help me please. <input type="button" onclick="alert(1);" value="ok"> <script> document.onmousemove = fnTimeOut; var t = null; function fnAlert() { alert(2); } function fnTimeOut() { clearTimeout( t ); t = setTimeout( fnAlert, 5000 ); } </script>

  • JSF : able to do mass update but unable to update a single row in a datatable

    - by nash
I have a simple data object: Car. I am showing the properties of Car objects in a JSF datatable. If i display the properties using inputText tags, i am able to get the modified values in the managed bean. However i just want a single row editable. So have placed a edit button in a separate column and inputText and outputText for every property of Car. the edit button just toggles the rendering of inputText and outputText. Plus i placed a update button in a separate column which is used to save the updated values. However on clicking the update button, i still get the old values instead of the modified values. Here is the complete code: public class Car { int id; String brand; String color; public Car(int id, String brand, String color) { this.id = id; this.brand = brand; this.color = color; } //getters and setters of id, brand, color } Here is the managed bean: import java.util.ArrayList; import java.util.List; import javax.faces.bean.ManagedBean; import javax.faces.bean.RequestScoped; import javax.faces.component.UIData; @ManagedBean(name = "CarTree") @RequestScoped public class CarTree { int editableRowId; List<Car> carList; private UIData myTable; public CarTree() { carList = new ArrayList<Car>(); carList.add(new Car(1, "jaguar", "grey")); carList.add(new Car(2, "ferari", "red")); carList.add(new Car(3, "camri", "steel")); } public String update() { System.out.println("updating..."); //below statments print old values, was expecting modified values System.out.println("new car brand is:" + ((Car) myTable.getRowData()).brand); System.out.println("new car color is:" + ((Car) myTable.getRowData()).color); //how to get modified row values in this method?? return null; } public int getEditableRowId() { return editableRowId; } public void setEditableRowId(int editableRowId) { this.editableRowId = editableRowId; } public UIData getMyTable() { return myTable; } public void setMyTable(UIData myTable) { this.myTable = myTable; } public List<Car> getCars() { return carList; } public void setCars(List<Car> carList) { this.carList = carList; } } here is the JSF 2 page: <?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8' ?> <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xmlns:h="http://java.sun.com/jsf/html" xmlns:f="http://java.sun.com/jsf/core"> <h:head> <title>Facelet Title</title> </h:head> <h:body> <h:form id="carForm" prependId="false"> <h:dataTable id="dt" binding="#{CarTree.myTable}" value="#{CarTree.cars}" var="car" > <h:column> <h:outputText value="#{car.id}" /> </h:column> <h:column> <h:outputText value="#{car.brand}" rendered="#{CarTree.editableRowId != car.id}"/> <h:inputText value="#{car.brand}" rendered="#{CarTree.editableRowId == car.id}"/> </h:column> <h:column> <h:outputText value="#{car.color}" rendered="#{CarTree.editableRowId != car.id}"/> <h:inputText value="#{car.color}" rendered="#{CarTree.editableRowId == car.id}"/> </h:column> <h:column> <h:commandButton value="edit"> <f:setPropertyActionListener target="#{CarTree.editableRowId}" value="#{car.id}" /> </h:commandButton> </h:column> <h:column> <h:commandButton value="update" action="#{CarTree.update}"/> </h:column> </h:dataTable> </h:form> </h:body> </html> However if i just keep the inputText tags and remove the rendered attributes, i get the modified values in the update method. How can i get the modified values for the single row edit?

  • Fraud Detection with the SQL Server Suite Part 1

    - by Dejan Sarka
While working on different fraud detection projects, I developed my own approach to the solution for this problem. In my PASS Summit 2013 session I am introducing this approach. I also wrote a whitepaper on the same topic, which was generously reviewed by my friend Matija Lah. In order to spread this knowledge faster, I am starting a series of blog posts which will at the end make the whole whitepaper. Abstract With the massive usage of credit cards and web applications for banking and payment processing, the number of fraudulent transactions is growing rapidly and on a global scale. Several fraud detection algorithms are available within a variety of different products. In this paper, we focus on using the Microsoft SQL Server suite for this purpose. In addition, we will explain our original approach to solving the problem by introducing a continuous learning procedure. Our preferred type of service is mentoring; it allows us to perform the work and consulting together with transferring the knowledge onto the customer, thus making it possible for a customer to continue to learn independently. This paper is based on practical experience with different projects covering online banking and credit card usage. Introduction A fraud is a criminal or deceptive activity with the intention of achieving financial or some other gain. Fraud can appear in multiple business areas. You can find a detailed overview of the business domains where fraud can take place in Sahin Y., & Duman E. (2011), Detecting Credit Card Fraud by Decision Trees and Support Vector Machines, Proceedings of the International MultiConference of Engineers and Computer Scientists 2011 Vol 1. Hong Kong: IMECS. Dealing with frauds includes fraud prevention and fraud detection. Fraud prevention is a proactive mechanism, which tries to disable frauds by using previous knowledge. Fraud detection is a reactive mechanism with the goal of detecting suspicious behavior when a fraudster surpasses the fraud prevention mechanism. A fraud detection mechanism checks every transaction and assigns a weight in terms of probability between 0 and 1 that represents a score for evaluating whether a transaction is fraudulent or not. A fraud detection mechanism cannot detect frauds with a probability of 100%; therefore, manual transaction checking must also be available. With fraud detection, this manual part can focus on the most suspicious transactions. This way, an unchanged number of supervisors can detect significantly more frauds than could be achieved with traditional methods of selecting which transactions to check, for example with random sampling. There are two principal data mining techniques available both in general data mining as well as in specific fraud detection techniques: supervised or directed and unsupervised or undirected. Supervised techniques or data mining models use previous knowledge. Typically, existing transactions are marked with a flag denoting whether a particular transaction is fraudulent or not. Customers at some point in time do report frauds, and the transactional system should be capable of accepting such a flag. Supervised data mining algorithms try to explain the value of this flag by using different input variables. When the patterns and rules that lead to frauds are learned through the model training process, they can be used for prediction of the fraud flag on new incoming transactions. Unsupervised techniques analyze data without prior knowledge, without the fraud flag; they try to find transactions which do not resemble other transactions, i.e. outliers. In both cases, there should be more frauds in the data set selected for checking by using the data mining knowledge compared to selecting the data set with simpler methods; this is known as the lift of a model. Typically, we compare the lift with random sampling. The supervised methods typically give a much better lift than the unsupervised ones. However, we must use the unsupervised ones when we do not have any previous knowledge. Furthermore, unsupervised methods are useful for controlling whether the supervised models are still efficient. Accuracy of the predictions drops over time. Patterns of credit card usage, for example, change over time. In addition, fraudsters continuously learn as well. Therefore, it is important to check the efficiency of the predictive models with the undirected ones. When the difference between the lift of the supervised models and the lift of the unsupervised models drops, it is time to refine the supervised models. However, the unsupervised models can become obsolete as well. It is also important to measure the overall efficiency of both, supervised and unsupervised models, over time. We can compare the number of predicted frauds with the total number of frauds that include predicted and reported occurrences. For measuring behavior across time, specific analytical databases called data warehouses (DW) and on-line analytical processing (OLAP) systems can be employed. By controlling the supervised models with unsupervised ones and by using an OLAP system or DW reports to control both, a continuous learning infrastructure can be established. There are many difficulties in developing a fraud detection system. As has already been mentioned, fraudsters continuously learn, and the patterns change. The exchange of experiences and ideas can be very limited due to privacy concerns. In addition, both data sets and results might be censored, as the companies generally do not want to publically expose actual fraudulent behaviors. Therefore it can be quite difficult if not impossible to cross-evaluate the models using data from different companies and different business areas. This fact stresses the importance of continuous learning even more. Finally, the number of frauds in the total number of transactions is small, typically much less than 1% of transactions is fraudulent. Some predictive data mining algorithms do not give good results when the target state is represented with a very low frequency. Data preparation techniques like oversampling and undersampling can help overcome the shortcomings of many algorithms. SQL Server suite includes all of the software required to create, deploy any maintain a fraud detection infrastructure. The Database Engine is the relational database management system (RDBMS), which supports all activity needed for data preparation and for data warehouses. SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) supports OLAP and data mining (in version 2012, you need to install SSAS in multidimensional and data mining mode; this was the only mode in previous versions of SSAS, while SSAS 2012 also supports the tabular mode, which does not include data mining). Additional products from the suite can be useful as well. SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) is a tool for developing extract transform–load (ETL) applications. SSIS is typically used for loading a DW, and in addition, it can use SSAS data mining models for building intelligent data flows. SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) is useful for presenting the results in a variety of reports. Data Quality Services (DQS) mitigate the occasional data cleansing process by maintaining a knowledge base. Master Data Services is an application that helps companies maintaining a central, authoritative source of their master data, i.e. the most important data to any organization. For an overview of the SQL Server business intelligence (BI) part of the suite that includes Database Engine, SSAS and SSRS, please refer to Veerman E., Lachev T., & Sarka D. (2009). Data Mining with Microsoft SQL Server 2008. Wiley. SQL Server Data Mining Add-ins for Office, a free download for Office versions 2007, 2010 and 2013, bring the power of data mining to Excel, enabling advanced analytics in Excel. Together with PowerPivot for Excel, which is also freely downloadable and can be used in Excel 2010, is already included in Excel 2013. It brings OLAP functionalities directly into Excel, making it possible for an advanced analyst to build a complete learning infrastructure using a familiar tool. This way, many more people, including employees in subsidiaries, can contribute to the learning process by examining local transactions and quickly identifying new patterns.

  • jQuery / Spry Validation / Problem

    - by samuel baldus
Hi Chaps, I have a PHP form with one input and a button. A jQuery script ('loading' animated gif) is triggered on the click of the submit button. I also have a Spry Validation field linked to the input. At the moment, if the validation is triggered, the animated gif continues and won't stop. The furthest I've managed to get with it, is to click the validation message to stop the animation, but what I'm really after is to stop the animation when the validation is visible/triggered, but I can't find a suitable Event. $(function() { $("#button_download") .click(function() { }) .throbber(); $("#sprytextfield1") .click(function(sprytextfield1) { $.throbberHide(); }) }); If someone can point me in the right direction, that would be sweet.

  • Javascript calling JSF handler method

    - by msharma
Hi All, I am reading an xml file using javascript and then I need to submit my form so that it calls a particular method in my JSF handler. Usually this can be done on a jsp when user clicks a button by having an actionlistener like so: <h:commandLink styleClass="button" action="#{myHandler.outcome}" actionListener="#{myHandler.doNext}"> <span><h:outputText value="#{text.button_submit}" /></span> </h:commandLink> I am not sure how to call a method like 'doNext' above in the handler from javascript. I cannot do a simple: document.form.submit(); as it then repeats the processing i have already done. I want to read values from an xml file and then call a particular method in handler. Any ideas much appreciated.

  • UIButton: Need a circle hit area

    - by Pavan
Ok I have 6 custom UIButtons. Their normal state image are all circles images. They are all spaced out equally but all the circles touch each other. The problem with the custom UIbutton (which has a circle image on it), is that the hit area of that button is square, and the corners of this square overlaps the hitarea of the other custom button's hitarea. How do i make the hit area of a UIbutton whos normal state has a circle image, be only clickable on that circle only, rather than the normal square hit area?! I hope that someone can find a way for me to solve this problem that i currently am having! Thanks in advance Pavan

  • Replacing a calloutaccessoryview in mkannotationview

    - by Mugunth Kumar
In my viewForAnnotation delegate, I create a MKAnnotationView with leftCalloutaccessory as a info button. When the info button is tapped, I want to replace it with a UIActivityIndicator. So in the calloutAccessoryTapped delegate, I wrote view.leftCalloutaccessoryView = [UIActivityIndicator indicatorWithStyle:UIActivityIndicatorWhite]; The callout accessory seems to change, but it seems like the view doesn't get updated immediately. That's when the callout accessory gets hidden (by tapping another pin) and is re-opened, I see a spinner. But otherwise, I don't. I tried calling [view setNeedsdisplay] and [view setNeedsLayout] and [view layoutsubviews] as well but in vain. Any suggestions/pointers?

  • jquery Cycle plugin conflicing with custom script

    - by jeerose
I have a site in development here: http://bit.ly/diWSgT Scenario: My custom script looks at the viewport size and if the menu and logo are not in view, animates them up into view (just re-size your browser window to test if you like). That works fine. I also have the every wonderful jQuery cycle plugin in use via WP-Cycle for Wordpress. The problem: As you can see by checking out the site, using my slide up/down button buggers with the cycle function, particularly when you click the button while on the second image. Any thoughts as to why this is happening would be great. Thanks.

  • MonoDevelop/GTK OS X Usability Issues?

    - by Tylo
Does anyone else have infuriating usability issues while trying to work with MonoDevelop in OS X Snow Leopard? The ones that interrupt my flow the most are associated with button clicks not responding until I move the window around a little bit. Afterwards, I can get maybe one or two button presses in before I have to repeat moving the window around. I've heard this is a GTK problem that has nothing to do with MonoDevelop in the past and would like to know if anyone else experiences this or has found a way to fix it?

  • Artistic aspects of UI?

    - by anon
Consider a single button. At one extreme, we have a black OpenGL window, with: outline (in white) of a rectangle bitmap remdered font inside of it, saying "Ok" At the other extreme, we have Mac OS X, a button that is: well rounded has some gradient showing light effects on it nice antialiased "OK" soft shadow of some sort These two UIs present very very different user experiences. The former says "This is from the 80s" the latter says "this is professional". This is something I do not understand well as a programmer (and don't know where to learn about this). Does anyone know of a good technical resource for this? [I'd prefer things that draws upon psychology / perception literature to say why to do something rather than design books that just says "use color XYZ with a gradient of blah"]

So. Let's say I were to make a hex editor to edit... oh... let's say a .DLL file. How can I edit a .DLL file's hex by using C# or C++? And for the "fixed part", I want to make it so that I can browse from the program for a specific .DLL, have some pre-coded buttons on the programmed file, and when the button is pressed, it will automatically execute the requested action, meaning the button has been pre-coded to know what to look for in the .DLL and what to change it to. Can anyone help me get started on this?

  • How can i open Thickbox from a form and feed it with data ?

    - by Mark Dekker
I have a simple search php script, within that script there is some html and javascript to make a search input field and a button. What i am trying to do is when someone enters a search, and presses submit, thickbox opens, and the results will be displayed in the thickbox. What i have so far is the search field and button, when i press submit, it briefly shows the thickbox, and than is overloaded by the result page, but than with no search results. Here is the code: <form method="get"> <input type="text" name="merk" size=10 style="font-weight: bold; background-color:#D5DF23;">&nbsp;&nbsp; <input type="image" name="merk" class="thickbox" onclick="document.location.href='searcher.php?keepThis=true&TB_iframe=true&height=520&width=800';" src="zoek1.jpg" width="110" alt="Zoek" onMouseOver="this.src='zoek2.jpg'" onMouseOut="this.src='zoek1.jpg'"> </form></input>
