    I have the IP addresses of some computers on my network. Is there any command line tool like PsExec, which can take the IP Address as input and find out the username of the currently logged in user? I can install stuff on my workstation, but not the others. I can also run Metasploit / NMap / any other such program on my workstation.

    Just now , I try to install the Jungo WinDriver in the Ubuntu 13.10 . But I am puzzled by the its manual : 4.2.3. Linux WinDriver Installation Instructions 4.2.3.1. Preparing the System for Installation In Linux, kernel modules must be compiled with the same header files that the kernel itself was compiled with. Since WinDriver installs kernel modules, it must compile with the header files of the Linux kernel during the installation process. Therefore, before you install WinDriver for Linux, verify that the Linux source code and the file version.h are installed on your machine: Install the Linux kernel source code: If you have yet to install Linux, install it, including the kernel source code, by following the instructions for your Linux distribution. If Linux is already installed on your machine, check whether the Linux source code was installed. You can do this by looking for 'linux' in the /usr/src directory. If the source code is not installed, either install it, or reinstall Linux with the source code, by following the instructions for your Linux distribution. Install version.h: The file version.h is created when you first compile the Linux kernel source code. Some distributions provide a compiled kernel without the file version.h.   • Computer name not appearing on network

    I can connect to other computers on my home network (ubuntu + OSX machines) using the IP address, but I can't connect using the netbios name. On the mac the name appears in Finder but if I try to connect (goconnect to server smb://[email protected]) it doesn't work, while smb://[email protected] does. Same with ssh, ping and afp between the macs. This is a intermittent problem. It has worked in the past.

The only way I can access those shares is if I use the built in Administrator account. How can I configure the server to allow any administrator to access the file system via admin shares?     Hello. I just restarted my Windows 7 PC to find all my pinned shortcuts have disappeared from the start menu and taskbar. I've looked here "C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\User Pinned" And it seems the shortcuts are still there.     I had to save data from my harddisk to an external drive (with linux) and after reinstalling Windows Vista (and copying the files back) there is a strange overlay icon with two people. How do I get rid of this ? First I thought it could be shared, but the files are not shared. The user is the owner of all those files and they are accesible to everyone.     In cooperation with my IT teacher we want to boot all PC's in IT class with Lubuntu. I've successfully set up PXE server, but there is one thing that worries us. Harddrives shouldn't be accessible from booted Lubuntu(normal user only). Would adding to fstab something like: /dev/sda1 /Idk/What auto noauto work? I'd like to add that I can uncompress squashfs livecd filesystem. If no, what other solution is there, to block auto-mounting /dev/sda drive?

The account 'Paul' is present but is denied local log in so the default auto logs in locally. I am trying to remote into account Paul using RDC however it tries to log into the default account and I am presented with an an option to boot the present user off so I can log in. How do I specify which account I want to log into?

I tried to merge the C and D partitions to get more space but since then the laptop does not start up anymore. I dont care about the laptop, just about some pictures on there which I did not back up yet. I really hope someone can help me?!! How exactly can a tracker figure out how much data was uploaded and downloaded by each user? My understanding is that a BitTorrent tracker is merely a registry of users that are currently downloading/seeding and that peers, once connected, transfer data directly. So I wouldn't think that the tracker would know anything about the amount of data transferred, much less, where it came from.

    When I run psexec to the user desktop (xp pro) I get "There is a time and/or date difference between the client and the server." I also get "access denied" when I run the at \clientname time /interactive "net time \server /set /y" command. I cannot access the machine from my win2k3 server's AD Users and Computers utilities. Is going to the machine the only way to remedy? Clarify: Going to the machine and doing the net time command works, but I want a remote solution please.

    I'd like to create a keyboard shortcut to quickly and easily change the DPI scale on my machine. In Windows 8.1, the desktop display DPI scale can be set via the control panel (pictured below), taking effect immediately. Alternatively, the scale can be set manually in the registry, but doing so requires that the user sign in and out or restart the machine in order to take effect (and only works to imitate the "one scaling level for all my displays" option). How can I set the DPI scale via the command line, or otherwise programmatically?
