  • Adding an observer to UIImageView? observer & notifications

    - by sagar
Each class has almost one method named addObserver [imgVURL addObserver:<#(NSObject *)observer#> forKeyPath:<#(NSString *)keyPath#> options:<#(NSKeyValueObservingOptions)options#> context:<#(void *)context#>] Here, imgVURL is an image which is going to be load an image asynchronously. When image will be loaded dynamically - other class will set an image from loaded data. Now, my question is how can we add an observer to UIImageView's instance. Observer and notifications are same or not ? If it is not then what's different ? Let's have some sample code That I did in my project to understand my question. // locating image view from Scroll view by it's tag imgVURL=(UIImageView*)[scrMain viewWithTag:(kTagImagesTag+i)]; // ImageViewURL is a class which contains methods of // didReceiveResponse // didReceiveData // connection ImageViewURL *tmp=[[ImageViewURL alloc] init]; // it has a nonatomic property which will take the reference of my image view tmp.imgV=imgVURL; // now I will pass a url from my an array to property strURL // in strUrl I have custom setter // in which I am initializing a connection tmp.strUrl=[NSURL URLWithString:[[tblmain objectAtIndex:i] valueForKey:@"url"]]; // from ImageViewURL.m file -(void)connectionDidFinishLoading:(NSURLConnection *)connection { [[UIApplication sharedApplication] setNetworkActivityIndicatorVisible:NO]; // NSLog@"ImageView Ref From - %@",imgV); // see imgV has reference of my -> imgVURL (nonatomic, assign) imgV.image=[UIImage imageWithData:myWebData]; [connection release]; connection=nil; } // as you can see in above code many many images are loaded asynchronously // now How can I add an observer to an imageview whether it received or not.

  • Umbraco XSLT issue

    - by Brad
I'm trying to use the Umbraco GetMedia function to write an image URL to the screen, I receive an error parsing the XSLT file. <xsl:for-each select="$currentPage/descendant::node [string(data [@alias='tickerItemActive']) = '1']"> <xsl:value-of select="data [@alias='tickerText']"/><br /> <xsl:value-of select="umbraco.library:GetMedia(data [@alias='tickerImage'], 0)/data [@alias = 'umbracoFile']"/> </xsl:for-each> The tickerImage field contains the MediaID for which I'd like to display the URL. I can return the field outside the GetMedia function and it works fine. I can also replace the data [@alias='tickerImage] with '1117' (or any valid media ID) the XSLT passes verification and the script runs. THIS WORKS: <xsl:value-of select="umbraco.library:GetMedia('1117', 0)/data [@alias = 'umbracoFile']"/> THIS DOES NOT: <xsl:value-of select="umbraco.library:GetMedia(data [@alias='tickerImage'], 0)/data [@alias = 'umbracoFile']"/> Any help that can be offered would is appreciated. Thanks!

  • Just-in-time invocation of Facebook login window from UIWebView

    - by Chris Garrett
I have an app that presents a UIWebView pointing to my own server. I have a Facebook Like button on some pages inside the UIWebView. I have it working now, but the login screen is way too big for the phone screen. I would like to present a nicer login dialog such as the one in the Facebook iPhone API, and then continue back to the web view. The Facebook iPhone SDK has support for a login button and iPhone-friendly login screen, but it assumes that a user will click a login button before doing anything Facebook related. I would like the Like button to just appear, and to bring up the iPhone login screen only when necessary. I have monitored HTTP requests from my web view, and it looks like I could intercept the login request there, and present the login dialog. However, it seems that this would be fragile, because if Facebook changes those calls then my app will no longer work. Is there a more elegant way to do this?

  • Replacing a Namespace with XSLT

    - by er4z0r
Hi I want to work around a 'bug' in certain RSS-feeds, which use an incorrect namespace for the mediaRSS module. I tried to do it by manipulating the DOM programmatically, but using XSLT seems more flexible to me. Example: <media:thumbnail xmlns:media="http://search.yahoo.com/mrss" url="http://www.suedkurier.de/storage/pic/dpa/infoline/brennpunkte/4311018_0_merkelxI_24280028_original.large-4-3-800-199-0-3131-2202.jpg" /> <media:thumbnail url="http://www.suedkurier.de/storage/pic/dpa/infoline/brennpunkte/4311018_0_merkelxI_24280028_original.large-4-3-800-199-0-3131-2202.jpg" /> Where the namespace must be http://search.yahoo.com/mrss/ (mind the slash). This is my stylesheet: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <xsl:stylesheet version="1.0" xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform"> <xsl:template match="//*[namespace-uri()='http://search.yahoo.com/mrss']"> <xsl:element name="{local-name()}" namespace="http://search.yahoo.com/mrss/" > <xsl:apply-templates select="@*|*|text()" /> </xsl:element> </xsl:template> </xsl:stylesheet> Unfortunately the result of the transformation is an invalid XML and my RSS-Parser (ROME Library) does not parse the feed anymore: java.lang.IllegalStateException: Root element not set at org.jdom.Document.getRootElement(Document.java:218) at com.sun.syndication.io.impl.RSS090Parser.isMyType(RSS090Parser.java:58) at com.sun.syndication.io.impl.FeedParsers.getParserFor(FeedParsers.java:72) at com.sun.syndication.io.WireFeedInput.build(WireFeedInput.java:273) at com.sun.syndication.io.WireFeedInput.build(WireFeedInput.java:251) ... 8 more What is wrong with my stylesheet?

  • PHP - ADO recordsets

    - by Josh
I am referencing a COM component from PHP. This COM component returns records using ADO. I am assuming I will need to reference ADO in PHP for this to function. How do I do this? Secondly (related to the first question) I have run accross ADODB abstraction libraries, however these seem to mostly deal with queries and handle the ADO internally. How do I get the returned ADO recordset into a PHP friendly array, and likewise pass in an ADO array to the COM object? Thank you, Josh

  • Prevent direct access to a PHP page.

    - by SyaZ
How do I prevent my users from accessing directly pages meant for ajax calls only? Passing a key during ajax call seems like a solution, whereas access without the key will not be processed. But it is also easy to fabricate the key, no? Curse of View Source... p/s: Using Apache as webserver. EDIT: To answer why, I have jQuery ui-tabs in my index.php, and inside those tabs are forms with scripts, which won't work if they're accessed directly. Why a user would want to do that, I don't know, I just figure I'd be more user friendly by preventing direct access to forms without validation scripts.

  • How do you Access an Authenticated Google App Engine Service with Ruby?

    - by viatropos
I am trying to do this same thing here but with Ruby: Access Authenticated GAE Client with Python. Any ideas how to retrieve authenticated content from GAE with Ruby? I am using the Ruby GData Gem to access everything in Google Docs and such and it's making life very easy, but now I'd like to access things on GAE that require admin access, programmatically, and it doesn't support that. Here's what I'm getting (using DocList, not sure what to use yet): c = GData::Client::DocList.new c.clientlogin(username, password, nil, nil, nil, "HOSTED") c => #<GData::Client::DocList:0x201bad8 @clientlogin_service="writely", @version="2", @auth_handler=#<GData::Auth::ClientLogin:0x200803c @account_type="HOSTED", @token="long-hash", @auth_url="https://www.google.com/accounts/ClientLogin", @service="writely">, @source="AnonymousApp", @headers={"Authorization"=>"GoogleLogin auth=long-hash", "User-Agent"=>"GoogleDataRubyUtil-AnonymousApp", "GData-Version"=>"2", "Content-Type"=>"application/atom+xml"}, @authsub_scope="http://docs.google.com/feeds/", @http_service=GData::HTTP::DefaultService> url = "http://my-cdn.appspot.com/files/restricted-file.html" c.get(url) => #<GData::HTTP::Response:0x20004b8 @status_code=302, @body="", @headers={"connection"=>"close", "date"=>"Sun, 11 Apr 2010 00:30:20 GMT", "content-type"=>"text/html", "server"=>"Google Frontend", "content-length"=>"0", "location"=>"https://www.google.com/accounts/ServiceLogin service=ah&continue=http://my-cdn.appspot.com/_ah/login%3Fcontinue%3D http://my-cdn.appspot.com/files/restricted-file.html& ltmpl=gm&ahname=My+CDN&sig=a-signature"}> Any tips? That other SO question pointed to doing something with the redirect... Not sure how to handle that. Just looking for a point in the right direction from the ruby experts. Thanks.

  • Programmatically call webmethods in C#

    - by hancock
    I'm trying to write a function that can call a webmethod from a webserive given the method's name and URL of the webservice. I've found some code on a blog that does this just fine except for one detail. It requires that the request XML be provided as well. The goal here is to get the request XML template from the webservice itself. I'm sure this is possible somehow because I can see both the request and response XML templates if I access a webservice's URL in my browser. This is the code which calls the webmethod programmatically: XmlDocument doc = new XmlDocument(); //this is the problem. I need to get this automatically doc.Load("../../request.xml"); HttpWebRequest req = (HttpWebRequest)WebRequest.Create("http://localhost/dummyws/dummyws.asmx?op=HelloWorld"); req.ContentType = "text/xml;charset=\"utf-8\""; req.Accept = "text/xml"; req.Method = "POST"; Stream stm = req.GetRequestStream(); doc.Save(stm); stm.Close(); WebResponse resp = req.GetResponse(); stm = resp.GetResponseStream(); StreamReader r = new StreamReader(stm); Console.WriteLine(r.ReadToEnd());

  • How Does DotNetNuke Stack Up For SEO? E-Commerce?

    - by user326502
I've heard that DotNetNuke takes a bit of a hit for Search Engine Optimization. I'm not criticizing the platform, by the way; I love DNN. This is just what I've heard. As I understand it, the impact is from repetitive content, table-based layouts, and lots of extra markup. I've got a friend who would like to start an e-commerce site using DNN and some modules from Snowcovered. I was just wondering whether DNN would be a good platform to choose. The idea is attractive because of the ease with which a DNN commerce system can be deployed. Search-engine friendly URLs aren't the problem - the modules do that, it's whether DNN as a whole would be a good platform for this. Thanks very much for any help or advice.

  • accessing $_SESSION when using file_get_contents in PHP

    - by hairdresser-101
    I have a page called send.email.php which sends an email - pretty simple stuff - I pass an order id, it creates job request and sends it out. This works fine when used in the context I developed it (Use javascript to make an AJAX call to the URL and pass the order_id as a query parameter) I am now trying to reuse the exact same page in another application however I am calling it using php file_get_contents($base_url.'admin/send.email.php?order_id='.$order_id). When I call the page this way, the $_SESSION array is empty isempty() = 1. Is this because I am initiating a new session using file_get_contents and the values I stored in the $_SESSION on login are not available to me within there? -- Thanks for the feedback. It makes sense that the new call doesn't have access to the existing session... New problem though: I now get: failed to open stream: HTTP request failed! When trying to execute: $opts = array('http' => array('header'=> 'Cookie: ' . $_SERVER['HTTP_COOKIE']."\r\n")); $context = stream_context_create($opts); $contents = file_get_contents($base_url.'admin/send.sms.php?order_id='.order_id, false, $context); YET, the URL works fine if I call it as: (It just doesn't let me access session) $result file_get_contents($base_url.'admin/send.sms.php?order_id='.$order_id);

  • Custom Error Handling

    - by Michael
    Using GoDaddy to host my site (I know that's my first problem)! :-) Trying to setup customer error messages for my site using IIS7. GoDaddy allows you to setup a 404 in their control panel, but I can't override this, or setup any additional error redirects, specifically a 500-server error. Here is my web.config file: <configuration> <system.webServer> <rewrite> <rules> <rule name="Redirect to WWW" stopProcessing="true"> <match url=".*" /> <conditions> <add input="{HTTP_HOST}" pattern="^mysite.com$" /> </conditions> <action type="Redirect" url="http://www.mysite.com/{R:0}" redirectType="Permanent" /> </rule> </rules> </rewrite> </system.webServer> <system.web> <customErrors mode="On" defaultRedirect="http://www.mysite.com/oops.php"> <error statusCode="404" redirect="http://www.mysite.com/oops.php?error=404" /> <error statusCode="500" redirect="http://www.mysite.com/oops.php?error=500" /> </customErrors> </system.web> </configuration>

  • Preventing iframe caching in browser

    - by Zarjay
How do you prevent Firefox and Safari from caching iframe content? I have a simple webpage with an iframe to a page on a different site. Both the outer page and the inner page have HTTP response headers to prevent caching. When I click the "back" button in the browser, the outer page works properly, but no matter what, the browser always retrieves a cache of the iframed page. IE works just fine, but Firefox and Safari are giving me trouble. My webpage looks something like this: <html> <head><!-- stuff --></head> <body> <!-- stuff --> <iframe src="webpage2.html?var=xxx" /> <!-- stuff --> </body> </html> The var variable always changes. Despite the fact that the URL of the iframe has changed (and thus, the browser should be making a new request to that page), the browser just fetches the cached content. I've examined the HTTP requests and responses going back and forth, and I noticed that even if the outer page contains <iframe src="webpage2.html?var=222" />, the browser will still fetch webpage2.html?var=111. Here's what I've tried so far: Changing iframe URL with random var value Adding Expires, Cache-Control, and Pragma headers to outer webpage Adding Expires, Cache-Control, and Pragma headers to inner webpage I'm unable to do any JavaScript tricks because I'm blocked by the same-origin policy. I'm running out of ideas. Does anyone know how to stop the browser from caching the iframed content?

  • Difference between weblogic and websphere?

    - by Abhishek Jain
I do not find actual difference between these two J2EE server. From my past experience, I found out following: WL is evolving more faster than WAS. WL is more user friendly than WAS. To simply deploy a application in WAS, we need to go in deep and its difficult to find if u are new to it. I found out that WAS is slower in some machine than WL. I found out that Classloading is easier to understand and effective in WL than WAS Above all are my experiences but not actual facts. I want to know more in this respect. Please clear my doubts. If possible please provide each J2EE server's pros and cons. -Abhishek

  • rails i18n - translating text with links inside.

    - by egarcia
Hi there! I'd like to i18n a text that looks like this: Already signed up? Log in! Note that there is a link on the text. On this example it points to google - in reality it will point to my app's log_in_path. I've found two ways of doing this, but none of them looks "right". The first way I know involves having this my en.yml: log_in_message: "Already signed up? <a href='{{url}}'>Log in!</a>" And in my view: <p> <%= t('log_in_message', :url => login_path) %> </p> This works, but having the <a href=...</a> part on the en.yml doesn't look very clean to me. The other option I know is using localized views - login.en.html.erb, and login.es.html.erb. This also doesn't feel right since the only different line would be the aforementioned one; the rest of the view (~30 lines) would be repeated for all views. It would not be very DRY. I guess I could use "localized partials" but that seems too cumberstone; I think I prefer the first option to having so many tiny view files. So my question is: is there a "proper" way to implement this?

  • Zendx JQuery Autocomplete

    - by emeraldjava
I've been trying to get the Zend Jquery autocomplete function working, when i noticed this section in the Zend documentation. The following UI widgets are available as form view helpers. Make sure you use the correct version of jQuery UI library to be able to use them. The Google CDN only offers jQuery UI up to version 1.5.2. Some other components are only available from jQuery UI SVN, since they have been removed from the announced 1.6 release. autoComplete($id, $value, $params, $attribs): The AutoComplete View helper will be included in a future jQuery UI version (currently only via jQuery SVN) and creates a text field and registeres it to have auto complete functionality. The completion data source has to be given as jQuery related parameters 'url' or 'data' as described in the jQuery UI manual. Does anybody know which svn url tag or branch i need to download to get a javascript file with the autocomplete functions available in it? At the moment, my Bootstrap.php has $view->addHelperPath('ZendX/JQuery/View/Helper/', 'ZendX_JQuery_View_Helper'); $view->jQuery()->enable(); $view->jQuery()->uiEnable(); Zend_Controller_Action_HelperBroker::addHelper( new ZendX_JQuery_Controller_Action_Helper_AutoComplete() ); // Add it to the ViewRenderer $viewRenderer = new Zend_Controller_Action_Helper_ViewRenderer(); $viewRenderer->setView($view); Zend_Controller_Action_HelperBroker::addHelper($viewRenderer); In my layout, i define the jquery ui version i want <?php echo $this->jQuery() ->setUiVersion('1.7.2');?> Finally my index.phtml has the autocomplete widget <p><?php $data = array('New York', 'Tokyo', 'Berlin', 'London', 'Sydney', 'Bern', 'Boston', 'Baltimore'); ?> <?php echo $this->autocomplete("ac1", "", array('data' => $data));?></p> I'm using Zend 1.8.3 atm.

  • Looped jQuery slideshow with smooth cross-fades

    - by artlung
I'm trying to do a simple rotating image on the home page. Under the hood I'm reading a directory and then populating urls for the images into an array. What I want to do is cross-fade the images. If it was just a matter of showing the next one, it's easy, but since I need to cross-fade, it's a bit harder. I think what I want to do is do the fades by calling animate() on the opacity value of the <img> tag, and in between swapping out the css background-image property of the enclosing <div>. But the results are not that great. I've used tools for more full featured slideshows, but I don't want the overhead of adding a plugin if I can avoid it, and a simple crossfade seems like it should be easier. Here's my JavaScript (I'm using jQuery 1.3.2): var slideshow_images = ["http:\/\/example.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/themes\/testtheme\/sidebar-home-bg\/bg1.jpg","http:\/\/example.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/themes\/testtheme\/sidebar-home-bg\/bg2.jpg","http:\/\/example.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/themes\/testtheme\/sidebar-home-bg\/bg3.jpg"]; var slideshow_index = 0; var delay = 4000; var swapSlides = function() { var slideshow_count = slideshow_images.length; // initialize the background to be the current image $('#home-slideshow').css({ 'background-image': 'url(' + slideshow_images[slideshow_index] + ')', 'background-repeat:': 'no-repeat', 'width': 200, 'overflow': 'hidden' }); slideshow_index = ((slideshow_index + 1) == slideshow_count) ? 0 : slideshow_index + 1; // fade out the img $('#home-slideshow img').animate({opacity: 0}, delay); // now, the background is visible // next change the url on the img $('#home-slideshow img').attr('src', slideshow_images[slideshow_index]); // and fade it up $('#home-slideshow img').animate({opacity: 1.0}, delay); // do it again setTimeout('swapSlides()', 4000); } jQuery(document).ready(function(){ if (swapSlides) { swapSlides(); } }); And here's the markup I'm using: <div id="home-slideshow"><img src="http://example.com/wordpress/wp-content/themes/testtheme/sidebar-home-bg/bg1.jpg" alt="" /></div>

  • Why is my addSubview: method causing a leak?

    - by Nathan
Okay, so I have done a ton of research on this and have been pulling my hair out for days trying to figure out why the following code leaks: [UIApplication sharedApplication].networkActivityIndicatorVisible = YES; UIImage *comicImage = [self getCachedImage:[NSString stringWithFormat:@"%@%@%@",@"http://url/",comicNumber,@".png"]]; self.imageView = [[[UIImageView alloc] initWithImage:comicImage] autorelease]; [self.scrollView addSubview:self.imageView]; self.scrollView.contentSize = self.imageView.frame.size; self.imageWidth = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"%f",imageView.frame.size.width]; [UIApplication sharedApplication].networkActivityIndicatorVisible = NO; Both self.imageView and self.scrollView are @propety (nonatomic, retain) and released in my dealloc.. imageView isn't used anywhere else in the code. This code is also run in a thread off of the main thread. If I run this code on my device, it will quickly run out of memory if I continually load this view. However, I've found if I comment out the following line: [UIApplication sharedApplication].networkActivityIndicatorVisible = YES; UIImage *comicImage = [self getCachedImage:[NSString stringWithFormat:@"%@%@%@",@"http://url/",comicNumber,@".png"]]; self.imageView = [[[UIImageView alloc] initWithImage:comicImage] autorelease]; //[self.scrollView addSubview:self.imageView]; self.scrollView.contentSize = self.imageView.frame.size; self.imageWidth = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"%f",imageView.frame.size.width]; [UIApplication sharedApplication].networkActivityIndicatorVisible = NO; Memory usage becomes stable, no matter how many times I load the view. I have gone over everything I can think to see why this is leaking, but as far as I can tell I have all my releases straight. Can anyone see what I am missing?

  • javascript class calling XMLHttpRequest internally, then handling onreadystatechange

this thing almost works: function myClass(url) { this.source = url; this.rq = null; this.someOtherProperty = "hello"; // open connection to the ajax server this.start = function() { if (window.XMLHttpRequest) { this.rq = new XMLHttpRequest(); if (this.rq.overrideMimeType) this.rq.overrideMimeType("text/xml"); } else this.rq = new ActiveXObject("Microsoft.XMLHTTP"); try { this.rq.onreadystatechange = connectionEvent; this.rq.open("GET", this.source, true); this.rq.send(null); this.state = 1; } catch (err) { // some error handler here } } function connectionEvent() { alert("i'm here"); alert("this doesnt work: " + this.someOtherProperty); } } // myClass so it's nothing more than having the XMLHttpRequest object as a member of my class, instead of globally defined, and invoking it in the traditional way. however, inside my connectionEvent callback function, the meaning of "this" is lost, even though the function itself is scoped inside myClass. i also made sure that the object that i instantiate from myClass is kept alive long enough (declared global in the script). in all the examples of using javascript classes that i saw, "this" was still available inside the inner functions. for me, it is not, even if i take my function outside and make it a myClass.prototype.connectionEvent. what am i doing wrong? thank you.

  • using second level cache vs pushing objects into the session

    - by AhmetC
I have some big entities which are frequently accessed in same session. For example, in my application there is a reporting page which consist of dynamically generated chart images. For each chart image on page, client makes requests to corresponding controller and the controller generates images using some entities. I can either use asp.net's session dictionary for "caching" those entities or rely on nhibernate's second level cache support with using cached queries for example. What is your opinion? By the way I will use shared hosting, is second level cache hosting friendly? Thanks.

  • JSONP request using jquery $.getJSON not working on well formed JSON.

    - by Antti
I'm not sure is it possible now from the url I am trying. Please see this url: http://www.heiaheia.com/voimakaksikko/stats.json It always serves the same padding function "voimakaksikkoStats". It is well formed JSON, but I have not been able to load it from remote server. Does it need some work from the server side or can it be loaded with javascript? I think the problems gotta to have something to with that callback function... JQuery is not requirement, but it would be nice. This (callback=voimakaksikkoStats) returns nothing (firebug - net - response), and alert doesn't fire: $.getJSON("http://www.heiaheia.com/voimakaksikko/stats.json?callback=voimakaksikkoStats", function(data){ alert(data); }) but this (callback=?): $.getJSON("http://www.heiaheia.com/voimakaksikko/stats.json?callback=?", function(data){ alert(data); }) returns: voimakaksikkoStats({"Top5Sports":[],"Top5Tests":{"8":"No-exercise ennuste","1":"Painoindeksi","2":"Vy\u00f6t\u00e4r\u00f6n ymp\u00e4rys","10":"Cooperin testi","4":"Etunojapunnerrus"},"Top5CitiesByTests":[],"Top5CitiesByExercises":[],"ExercisesLogged":0,"Top5CitiesByUsers":[""],"TestsTaken":22,"RegisteredUsers":1}); But I cannot access it... In both examples the alert never fires. Can someone help?

  • How to handle ASP.NET application error that occurs on application start and transfer & display erro

    - by Soul_Master
I know that ASP.NET MVC has error filter attribute to handle specified error type. However, this feature cannot catch any error that occurs when application start. Therefore, I need to add some code to “Application_Error” method for handling this error like the following code. public void Application_Error(object sender, EventArgs e) { // At this point we have information about the error var ctx = HttpContext.Current; var exception = ctx.Server.GetLastError(); var errorInfo = "<br>Offending URL: " + ctx.Request.Url + "<br>Source: " + exception.Source + "<br>Message: " + exception.Message + "<br>Stack trace: " + exception.StackTrace; ctx.Response.Write(errorInfo); Server.ClearError(); } Although, this code will works fine, when normal application error occurs like error that occurs in view page. Nevertheless, it does not work when error occurs on application starting because request and response objects are always null. Next, I try to solve this question by setting default redirect in custom errors like the following code. <customErrors mode="On" defaultRedirect="Scripts/ApplicationError.htm"></customErrors> Unfortunately, it does not work because when application receive redirected request, it try to start application again and it throw exception again. How do to solve this problem? Alternatively, Do you have other idea for handling this error. Thanks, PS. The main reason for creating this handler because I want to display error when application cannot connect to other service like database for caching data on application start.

  • jQuery does not return a JSON object to Firebug when JSON is generated by PHP

    - by Keyslinger
The contents of test.json are: {"foo": "The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog.","bar": "ABCDEFG","baz": [52, 97]} When I use the following jQuery.ajax() call to process the static JSON inside test.json, $.ajax({ url: 'test.json', dataType: 'json', data: '', success: function(data) { $('.result').html('<p>' + data.foo + '</p>' + '<p>' + data.baz[1] + '</p>'); } }); I get a JSON object that I can browse in Firebug. However, when using the same ajax call with the URL pointing instead to this php script: <?php $arrCoords = array('foo'=>'The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog.','bar'=>'ABCDEFG','baz'=>array(52,97)); echo json_encode($arrCoords); ?> which prints this identical JSON object: {"foo":"The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog.","bar":"ABCDEFG","baz":[52,97]} I get the proper output in the browser but Firebug only reveals only HTML. There is no JSON tab present when I expand GET request in Firebug.
