  • Android TranslateAnimation after scrollTo() = undrawn view

    - by user293354
    This might be a "duh" question but I'm going to go ahead and ask it anyway. I have an oversized (bigger than the screen) RelativeLayout, and I'm using swipes to start a TranslateAnimation from viewing one part of the layout to another. Say for instance the layout is two screen wide and two screens tall. After the nice animation to shift the screen, I was using View.scrollTo() to set the new position. This works fine going from the first screen (top left at 0,0) to one of the others. When I swipe to animate back to the first screen though, because the View.scrollTo() invalidated that part of the layout (I assume), that part of the layout is all black as I animate through it. I tried a couple things to get it to redraw itself after the scrollTo() but haven't had any luck, so I figured I'd ask here. thanks! joe d

  • Android GridView Custom BaseAdapter ImageView ImageButton OnItemClick doesn´t work

    - by Marek
    i have a problem using a GridView with a CustomAdapter (extends BaseAdapter). any Activity implements the OnItemClickListener. if i use ImageView as item everything works fine, OnItemClick-Events will be fired/catched I have not found a useful example for a GridView with a custom BaseAdapter using ImageButton. Has anyone an idea? Many thanks in advantage! Snippets: class MyActivity extends Activity implements OnItemClickListener { ... @Override public void onCreate() { ... GridView gridview = (GridView) findViewById(R.id.gridview); gridview.setOnItemClickListener(this); gridview.setAdapter(new ImageButtonAdapter(this)); } ... @Override public void onItemClick(AdapterView<?> adapter, View view, int arg2, long arg3) { Log.e("onItemClick()", "arg2=" + arg2 + ", arg3=" + arg3); } } public class ImageButtonAdapter extends BaseAdapter { private Context mContext; public LayoutMenuAdapter(Context c) { mContext = c; } public int getCount() { return mThumbIds.length; } public Object getItem(int position) { return null; } public long getItemId(int position) { return 0; } public View getView(int position, View convertView, ViewGroup parent) { /* IF I USE THIS PART EVERYTHING WORKS FINE */ // ImageView imageView; // if (convertView == null) { // imageView = new ImageView(mContext); // imageView.setLayoutParams(new GridView.LayoutParams(100, 100)); // imageView.setScaleType(ImageView.ScaleType.CENTER_CROP); // imageView.setPadding(0, 0, 0, 0); // imageView.setFocusable(false); // } else { // imageView = (ImageView) convertView; // } // imageView.setImageResource(mThumbIds[position]); // return imageView; /* IF I USE THIS PART NO THE ACTIVITY/LISTENER RECEIVES NO EVENT */ ImageButton imageButton; if (convertView == null) { imageButton = new ImageButton(mContext); imageButton.setLayoutParams(new GridView.LayoutParams(100, 100)); imageButton.setScaleType(ImageView.ScaleType.CENTER_CROP); imageButton.setPadding(0, 0, 0, 0); imageButton.setFocusable(false); } else { imageButton = (ImageButton) convertView; } imageButton.setImageResource(mThumbIds[position]); return imageButton; } // references to images private Integer[] mThumbIds = { R.drawable.media}; }

  • Help with Android LinearLayout or RelativeLayout

    - by PeEll
    I need to create two views programmatically (because I need to access the ondraw of one of the views). For some reason, no matter what I do to add the views to the contentview, they don't show up vertically stacked, one below the other. I can do it just fine using the XML using a RelativeLayout and layout positioning, but with the XML I can't create a view object and overload the ondraw method. What am I doing wrong with the programmatic approach, and how do I solve this problem? LinearLayout mLinearLayout; public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); // Create a LinearLayout in which to add the ImageView mLinearLayout = new LinearLayout(this); TextView tv = new TextView(this); tv.setBackgroundColor(0xff333333); tv.setText("Enter your member number:"); tv.setLayoutParams(new ViewGroup.LayoutParams(LayoutParams.FILL_PARENT,LayoutParams.WRAP_CONTENT)); DrawableView i = new DrawableView(this); i.layout(0,40,0,0); i.setLayoutParams(new Gallery.LayoutParams(LayoutParams.WRAP_CONTENT, LayoutParams.WRAP_CONTENT)); mLinearLayout.addView(tv); mLinearLayout.addView(i,300,300); setContentView(mLinearLayout); }

    I have been working towards converting one of our applications to be threadsafe. When testing on the local dev app server everything is working as expected. However, upon deployment of the application it seems that Cookies are not being written correctly? • How to install/replace on Android without using Eclipse

    - by Peter vdL
    A buddy sent me a later version of a .apk file. I already had the earlier version on my device. When I tried to adb install the file, I got this: $ adb install ../FlashLite.apk 320 KB/s (18311 bytes in 0.055s) pkg: /data/local/tmp/FlashLite.apk Failure [INSTALL_FAILED_ALREADY_EXISTS] $ adb uninstall FlashLite.apk Failure $ adb uninstall /data/local/tmp/FlashLite.apk Failure How do you install/replace from the cmd line? I don't have the source, so I cannot do it from Eclipse. Thanks, Peter

  • Android: No icon for Notification

    - by Omer
    Hello, I wanted to create a notification without the icon in the status bar (the state that is not expanded). I tried the custom expanded view and set the icon for this view only. But it did not work. When I give 0 as icon to the constructor, the icon disappears but notification also does not appear in the expanded view. Notification notification = new Notification(0, "", 0); I tried a lot of combinations but didn't come out with a solution. By the way, I know it is working because I saw this feature in some apps. Thanks.

  • Can I expose only a portion of one .NET DLL's public classes via a different "API" DLL?

    - by Ben McIntosh
    I am designing a WPF application that uses a DLL with maybe 40 public classes. I need these to be public for a variety of reasons including ease of data binding and obfuscation. I would like to allow other people to use only a portion of these classes as an API for my software. I thought I would create the main library (core.dll) and an API library (coreAPI.dll) with the API DLL to be referenced in a new project. Is there a way to allow coreAPI.dll to expose only a few of the classes that exist in core.dll? It's not so much a security issue as I primarily want to simply hide some of the unwanted classes from the Visual Studio Intellisense. Again, internal classes for the ones I want to hide is not really an option because I need to data bind some of these classes in WPF and for that, they must be public. Are there any other ways of doing this?

  • Compile android project to apk without eclipse

    - by sandis
    What I have done is I have taken the class-files from my eclipse project and run them trough an optimizer/obfuscator. So I now have optimized class-files that I want to get in the form of an apk so I can sign and publish it. However, I am lost on how to do this. I guess I cant just copy them into the bin-folder of my eclipse-project, because eclipse would just overwrite them with a new compilation when I try to export a signed apk. So how do I create an apk from these class-files? Cheers,

  • Android - incremental status bar notification icon

    - by DroidIn.net
    You know what I'm talking about: for example when you get multiple new emails the notification icon in the status bar is augmented with a little red circle that contains number of unread mails. Twitroid has the same icon. Any idea how it's done? I don't think (or so I hope) there are 10000 similar icons. Is this red circle generated and overlaid the notification icon? If so - any code snippets will be much appreciated.

  • Return ArrayList from .net web service to android application using kSoap

    - by benjamin schultz
    My web service is returning quite a bit of data, so i'm storing it in an arraylist and returning that to my application. I don't know whether or not this is the preferred method or not. When the arraylist is returned and displayed in my application, it also displays the arraylists "anyType" section. I'm new to this whole process so i'm sure i'm missing something somewhere or going about this incorrectly. Can anyone point me in the right direction please?

  • Scheduling notifications in Android

    - by Kilnr
    Hi, I need to be able to schedule multiple Notifications at different times in the future. I tried doing this with an AlarmManager, but that isn't suitable, for the following reason. From AlarmManager.set(): "If there is already an alarm for this Intent scheduled (with the equality of two intents being defined by filterEquals(Intent)), then it will be removed and replaced by this one." Guess what, the sending intents are equal, apart from different Extra's (but those don't count for filterEquals). So how can I schedule multiple notifications, which will still be shown when my application is killed (the whole reason I tried AlarmManager)? Thanks.

  • Android - making a layout like Entourage/Outlook calendar

    - by teepusink
    Hi, I'm trying to build a layout / view like the Entourage/Outlook calendar view, where when I schedule a time block, a new view will popup overlaying the time block. Something like this one except it's daily and not monthly like in the image http://images.appleinsider.com/office-2008-entourage-10.png What is the best way to implement that? Right now I'm using TableLayout to create the time on the 1st column and supposedly overlay to schedule made on the 2nd column. However, things got very messy especially when the minutes go to 15 minutes and there are overlapping schdule. Wonder if using other layout might work better? Thanks, Tee

  • CustomRenderer for AutoComplete using google closure library

    - by Paul
    I'm looking to use one of the AutoComplete subclasses(Rich,Remote,RichRemote) and I'd like to use a CustomRenderer, however I don't see instructions for this and reading the documentation/source it appears that the Remote subclass is instantiated with a renderer of "var renderer = new goog.ui.AutoComplete.Renderer();" leaving me no option to change it while instantiating. Is there a setRenderer method on the AutoComplete base class similar to that on the goog.ui.Controls classes? Thanks, Paul

  • Using sub filters/queries in Google App Engine

    - by fredrik
    Hi, I'm trying to use figure out how to sub query a query that uses a filter. From what I've figured out so far while using .filter() it changes the original query, that leads to a second .filter() would also have to match the first filter. I would like to make something like this: modules = data.Modules.all().filter('page = ', page.key()) modules.filter('name = ', 'Test') modules.filter('name = ', 'Test2') I can't get the "Test2" filter to work. The only solution I have at the moment is to make all new queries. data.Modules.all().filter('page = ', page.key()).filter('name = ', "Test").get() data.Modules.all().filter('page = ', page.key()).filter('name = ', "Test2").get() Or write the same as an GQL. But for me it seams quite stupid way to go. I've looked at using ancestors, but I don't quite understand it and honestly don't know if that's the way to go. Any ideas? ..fredrik
