  • C# regex to validate "realistic" IP values

    - by Joshua
Regex that somewhat validates if a value has one of the following characteristics: 123-29-123-123.subdomain.zomg.com:8085 123.12.34.56:420 Unfortunately, I'm terrible at Regex, C#, google searches, and the differences between proper nouns and regular ones. It can be a lose approximation, in fact I would go with anything that has a : colon separator with a port after it.

  • Getting Terms & Conditions and a Privacy Policy

    - by Luke
Hi. I'm not sure if this question is appropriate for SO but I guess other programmers will run into this issue as well from time to time, so here we go. I'm building a site where people can sign up, upload content etc. and I was wondering, I probably need some sort of T&C's and Privacy Policy for a site like this. Since I'm just a poor programmer and don't have money for expensive lawyers, where would I get T&C's and a Privacy Policy that would applicable to my site?

  • MIPS $gp register

    - by Hristo
Is there a danger in using the $gp register to store a value? I guess my question is what is the true functionality of $gp and is it invoked behind-the-scenes somehow so that if I were to use it, things could go very very wrong? Thanks, Hristo

  • how does linear probing handle this?

    - by Weadadada Awda
    • the hash function: h(x) = | 2x + 5 | mod M • a bucket array of capacity N • a set of objects with keys: 12, 44, 13, 88, 23, 94, 11, 39, 20, 16, 5 (to input from left to right) 4.a [5 pts] Write the hash table where M=N=11 and collisions are handled using linear probing. So I got up to here x x x x x 44 88 12 23 13 94 but the next variable should go after the 94 now, (the 11) but does it start from the beggining or what? thx

I have a Canvas which has an image as background. When I do the ScaleTransform to increase the size of the image, the image blows out of the Canvas. • When is a subroutine reference in @INC called?

    - by gvkv
As the title says, I'm not clear on when such a subroutine will be called. From the require page at perldoc one can write: push @INC, \&my_sub; sub my_sub { my ($coderef, $filename) = @_; # $coderef is \&my_sub ... } but where does this go exactly? The required package or the requiring script (or package)? I've tried both with some sentinel print statements but neither worked so clearly there is something I'm not getting.

  • WCF - AsyncPattern=true or IsOneWay=true

    - by inutan
Hello there, Few methods in my WCF service are quite time taking - Generating Reports and Sending E-mails. According to current requirement, it is required so that Client application just submits the request and then do not wait for the whole process to complete. It will allow user to continue doing other operations in client applications instead of waiting for the whole process to finish. I am in a doubt over which way to go: AsyncPattern = true OR IsOneWay=true Please guide.

  • What is the best way to bookmark positions in code in Visual Studio 2008/2010?

    - by Edward Tanguay
I find myself going to about five or six main places in my code 80% of the time and would like a way to go to them fast even if all files are closed. I would like to be able to open up a solution in visual studio and with no file open, see a list of self-labeled bookmarks like this: LoadNext Settings page refresh app.config connections app settings stringhelpers top stringhelpers bottom I click one of these and it opens that file and jumps to that position. How can I best make bookmarks like this in Visual Studio 2008/2010?

  • in DDD (gdb) how to skip past loops

    - by Andrei
During many, sometimes inundating, debugging sessions using DDD, I stumble upon loops. And I keep pressing next to get past it, and if there are many iterations, I just set a break point right after it, and press "continue." Is there any other way to go past loops? Thanks

  • W3C dom api in Java

    - by Benju
Take a look at the example code... NodeList folderNodes = document.getElementsByTagName("Folder"); DocumentFragment node = (DocumentFragment) folderNodes.item(0); It was very easy to do "getElementsByTagName" on the document but when I want to do this again on the DocumentFragment it seems I cannot. How do I go about furthering this query?

    - by akdom
The Setup: I'm working on a Django application which allows users to create an object in the database and then go back and edit it as much as they desire. Django's admin site keeps a history of the changes made to objects through the admin site. The Question: How do I hook my application in to the admin site's change history so that I can see the history of changes users make to their "content" ?

  • Visual Web Developer 2008 Express wanting SQL Server 2005 instead of 2008?

    - by J. Pablo Fernández
When I double click on an mdf file on Visual Web Developer 2008 (NerdDinner.mdf) it says: Connections to SQL Server files (*.mdf) require SQL Server Express 2005 to function properly. Please verify the installation of the component or download from the URL: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=49251 The URL of course points to SQL Server Express 2008. I have that one installed and running. Any ideas why am I getting that message?

  • NSUserDefaults not present on first run on simulator

    - by Ben Collins
I've got some settings saved in my Settings.bundle, and I try to use them in application:didFinishLaunchingWithOptions, but on a first run on the simulator accessing objects by key always returns nil (or 0 in the case of ints). Once I go to the settings screen and then exit, they work fine for every run thereafter. What's going on? Isn't the point of using default values in the Settings.bundle to be able to use them without requiring the user to enter them first?

  • Is it possible to use ActiveObjects (or another ORM) with an embedded database & JWS technology ?

    - by phmr
I would like to embed a database in my JWS application. As a matter of fact I have to use HSQL or SQLite. Hibernate may support (HSQL or SQLite, does it ?) but the workflow is rather complex for my application but maybe it's the way to go for my needs. In ActiveObjects database shoould be "linked" to by a path because of JDBC, but is it possible to specify a database that is inside a JAR and how ?

  • iPad GLSL. From within a fragment shader how do I get the surface - not vertex - normal

    - by dugla
Is it possible to access the surface normal - the normal associated with the plane of a fragment - from within a fragment shader? Or perhaps this can be done in the vertex shader? Is all knowledge of the associated geometry lost when we go down the shader pipeline or is there some clever way of recovering that information in either the vertex of fragment shader? Thanks in advance. Cheers, Doug twitter: @dugla
