  • Pass errors in Django using HttpResponseRedirect

    - by JPC
    I know that HttpResponseRedirect only takes one parameter, a URL. But there are cases when I want to redirect with an error message to display. I was reading this post: How to pass information using an http redirect (in Django) and there were a lot of good suggestions. I don't really want to use a library that I don't know how works. I don't want to rely on messages which, according to the Django docs, is going to be removed. I thought about using sessions. I also like the idea of passing it in a URL, something like: return HttpResponseRedirect('/someurl/?error=1') and then having some map from error code to message. Is it good practice to have a global map-like structure which hard codes in these error messages or is there a better way? Or should I just use a session EDIT: I got it working using a session. Is that a good practice to put things like this in the session?

  • PHP Multiple User Login Form - Navigation to Different Pages Based on Login Credentials

    - by Zulu Irminger
    I am trying to create a login page that will send the user to a different index.php page based on their login credentials. For example, should a user with the "IT Technician" role log in, they will be sent to "index.php", and if a user with the "Student" role log in, they will be sent to the "student/index.php" page. I can't see what's wrong with my code, but it's not working... I'm getting the "wrong login credentials" message every time I press the login button. My code for the user login page is here: <?php session_start(); if (isset($_SESSION["manager"])) { header("location: http://www.zuluirminger.com/SchoolAdmin/index.php"); exit(); } ?> <?php if (isset($_POST["username"]) && isset($_POST["password"]) && isset($_POST["role"])) { $manager = preg_replace('#[^A-Za-z0-9]#i', '', $_POST["username"]); $password = preg_replace('#[^A-Za-z0-9]#i', '', $_POST["password"]); $role = preg_replace('#[^A-Za-z0-9]#i', '', $_POST["role"]); include "adminscripts/connect_to_mysql.php"; $sql = mysql_query("SELECT id FROM Users WHERE username='$manager' AND password='$password' AND role='$role' LIMIT 1"); $existCount = mysql_num_rows($sql); if (($existCount == 1) && ($role == 'IT Technician')) { while ($row = mysql_fetch_array($sql)) { $id = $row["id"]; } $_SESSION["id"] = $id; $_SESSION["manager"] = $manager; $_SESSION["password"] = $password; $_SESSION["role"] = $role; header("location: http://www.zuluirminger.com/SchoolAdmin/index.php"); } else { echo 'Your login details were incorrect. Please try again <a href="http://www.zuluirminger.com/SchoolAdmin/index.php">here</a>'; exit(); } } ?> <?php if (isset($_POST["username"]) && isset($_POST["password"]) && isset($_POST["role"])) { $manager = preg_replace('#[^A-Za-z0-9]#i', '', $_POST["username"]); $password = preg_replace('#[^A-Za-z0-9]#i', '', $_POST["password"]); $role = preg_replace('#[^A-Za-z0-9]#i', '', $_POST["role"]); include "adminscripts/connect_to_mysql.php"; $sql = mysql_query("SELECT id FROM Users WHERE username='$manager' AND password='$password' AND role='$role' LIMIT 1"); $existCount = mysql_num_rows($sql); if (($existCount == 1) && ($role == 'Student')) { while ($row = mysql_fetch_array($sql)) { $id = $row["id"]; } $_SESSION["id"] = $id; $_SESSION["manager"] = $manager; $_SESSION["password"] = $password; $_SESSION["role"] = $role; header("location: http://www.zuluirminger.com/SchoolAdmin/student/index.php"); } else { echo 'Your login details were incorrect. Please try again <a href="http://www.zuluirminger.com/SchoolAdmin/index.php">here</a>'; exit(); } } ?> And the form that the data is pulled from is shown here: <form id="LoginForm" name="LoginForm" method="post" action="http://www.zuluirminger.com/SchoolAdmin/user_login.php"> User Name:<br /> <input type="text" name="username" id="username" size="50" /><br /> <br /> Password:<br /> <input type="password" name="password" id="password" size="50" /><br /> <br /> Log in as: <select name="role" id="role"> <option value="">...</option> <option value="Head">Head</option> <option value="Deputy Head">Deputy Head</option> <option value="IT Technician">IT Technician</option> <option value="Pastoral Care">Pastoral Care</option> <option value="Bursar">Bursar</option> <option value="Secretary">Secretary</option> <option value="Housemaster">Housemaster</option> <option value="Teacher">Teacher</option> <option value="Tutor">Tutor</option> <option value="Sanatorium Staff">Sanatorium Staff</option> <option value="Kitchen Staff">Kitchen Staff</option> <option value="Parent">Parent</option> <option value="Student">Student</option> </select><br /> <br /> <input type="submit" name = "button" id="button" value="Log In" onclick="javascript:return validateLoginForm();" /> </h3> </form> Once logged in (and should the correct page be loaded, the validation code I have at the top of the script looks like this: <?php session_start(); if (!isset($_SESSION["manager"])) { header("location: http://www.zuluirminger.com/SchoolAdmin/user_login.php"); exit(); } $managerID = preg_replace('#[^0-9]#i', '', $_SESSION["id"]); $manager = preg_replace('#[^A-Za-z0-9]#i', '', $_SESSION["manager"]); $password = preg_replace('#[^A-Za-z0-9]#i', '', $_SESSION["password"]); $role = preg_replace('#[^A-Za-z0-9]#i', '', $_SESSION["role"]); include "adminscripts/connect_to_mysql.php"; $sql = mysql_query("SELECT id FROM Users WHERE username='$manager' AND password='$password' AND role='$role' LIMIT 1"); $existCount = mysql_num_rows($sql); if ($existCount == 0) { header("location: http://www.zuluirminger.com/SchoolAdmin/index.php"); exit(); } ?> Just so you're aware, the database table has the following fields: id, username, password and role. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Many thanks, Zulu

The reason for integrating this filter comes from Spring security FAQs: I'm using Tomcat (or some other servlet container) and have enabled HTTPS for my login page, switching back to HTTP afterwards. It doesn't work - I just end up back at the login page after authenticating. This happens because sessions created under HTTPS, for which the session cookie is marked as “secure”, cannot subsequently be used under HTTP. The browser will not send the cookie back to the server and any session state will be lost (including the security context information). Starting a session in HTTP first should work as the session cookie won't be marked as secure.

  • Selenium RC: How to click buttons that use onclick window.location?

    - by Andrew
    I have a button (outside of a form) that redirects to another page using the onclick attribute that calls window.location to redirect the user to another page. This time I can't change the HTML. I am using Safari 4 for testing. How can I click a button that uses the onclick attribute and window.location to redirect using Safari 4 and Selenium RC PHPUnit Extension? Here's my HTML: <input type="button" onclick="window.location='/registrations/new'" value="Start a new registration" id="create"> Update: Alternatively, I'm thinking about doing something where I assert that a location is specified in the window.location='', store that location, and call the open() command using that location. Not sure if this is an acceptable approach to testing this.

  • need help on php if statement

    - by user225269
    <?php if (!isset($_SESSION['loginAdmin']) || ($_SESSION['loginAdmin'] == '')) { header ("Location: loginam.php"); } else { include('head2.php'); } if (!isset($_SESSION['login']) || ($_SESSION['login'] == '')) { header ("Location: login.php"); } else { include('head3.php'); } ?> I'm really stuck at this problem. What I want to do is to be able to redirect the user to another page base on the information entered. My problem is: if this statement is true: else { include('head3.php'); } This one would also be true: if (!isset($_SESSION['loginAdmin']) || ($_SESSION['loginAdmin'] == '')) { header ("Location: loginam.php"); } Leading me to the login page whether I'm admin or just ordinary user. Is it possible two separate the two if statements so that if this is true: else { include('head3.php'); } Then this statement shouldn't get in the way and redirect me back to the login page: if (!isset($_SESSION['loginAdmin']) || ($_SESSION['loginAdmin'] == '')) { header ("Location: loginam.php"); }

  • Open Safari from within Opera Mini on the iPhone

    - by Ican Zilb
    Now that Opera Mini is becoming so popular in the App store I want to effectively warn my web site visitors that the rendition they see in Opera Mini is far from what I meant them to see and redirect them to my page in Mobile Safari, so they can enjoy HTML5 and CSS3. I've been banging my head around that task all day long, but I can't seem to find a solution. My hope lies in the custom URL schemes, but seems Opera Mini handles all schemes which usually Safari does. Would be great if there's a scheme like safari://www.domain.com which opens ONLY in Safari, so I can redirect the visitors to it. Does anybody know a solution to that problem? --edit Just to make myself clear - browser detection is not the problem (I'm doing Javascript for 13 years now) the question is if there's a way to invoke the Safari app on the iPhone from within a web page which is being viewed in Opera Mini.

  • How to send exceptions to exceptionController?

    - by ivar
    <bean class="org.springframework.web.servlet.handler.SimpleMappingExceptionResolver"> <property name="mappedHandlers"> <set> <ref bean="exceptionController" /> </set> </property> <property name="defaultErrorView" value="tiles/content/error" /> </bean> I'm trying to send exceptions to a controller so I can create a redirect. If I comment out the mappedHandlers part then the error tile is displayed but it is only a tile. The rest of the tiles load normally. I need to make a redirect in the controller so I can show an error page not just an error tile. I can't find enough information or an example how the exception invokes some method in exceptionController.

  • External Javascript file fails to receive variables from previous javascript block

    - by Franc
    I've been searching the net for several hours and can't find an answer in the whole "external js file"-jungle. I hope you guys can help! In short: My external javascript file doesn't seem to get the variables which I defined in the main.php file.. On main.php I define php variables and "transform" them into javascript variables <head>... <script type="text/javascript"> var phpmain_img = <?php echo json_encode($main_img); ?>; var phpvar1_large = <?php echo json_encode($var1_large); ?>; var phpvar2_large = <?php echo json_encode($var2_large); ?>; var phpvar3_large = <?php echo json_encode($var3_large); ?>; var phpvar4_large = <?php echo json_encode($var4_large); ?>; </script> ... <script language="javascript" type="text/javascript" src="/wshop/ext.js"></script> </head> In my ext.js file I want to process those variables. In the ext.js file I defined a the function swapImage() that will be used back in the main PHP: var imgArray = new Array( phpmain_img, phpvar1_large, phpvar2_large, phpvar3_large ); function swapImage(imgID) { var theImage = document.getElementById('theImage'); var newImg; newImg = imgArray[imgID]; theImage.src = newImg; } function preloadImages() { for(var i = 0; i < imgArray.length; i++) { var tmpImg = new Image; tmpImg.src = imgArray[i]; } } Result: The swapImage() in the main.php... doesnt work <div id="image"> <img id="theImage" src="<?=$main_img; ?>" alt="" /> </div> <div id="thumbs"> <?php echo "<img src=\"<$main_img_small\" alt=\"\" onmouseover=\"swapImage(0);\">"; echo "<img src=\"$var1_small\" alt=\"\" onmouseover=\"swapImage(1);\">"; echo "<img src=\"$var2_small\" alt=\"\" onmouseover=\"swapImage(2);\">"; echo "<img src=\"$var3_small\" alt=\"\" onmouseover=\"swapImage(3);\">"; ?> <br /> </div> Any help is greatly appreciated! UPDATE: I don't get a specific error, the swapImage functions doesn't work at mouseover. However, I tried to output the variables with e.g. document.write(phpimg_main) but nothing appears which makes me believe that there's something wrong with the handing over of the variables... here's the source code browser output `<html> <head> <link href="../demo.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" /> <style type="text/css"> .... </style> <script type="text/javascript"> var phpmain_img = {"0":"http:\/\/path\/to\/main\/image.jpg"}; var phpvar1_large = {"0":"http:\/\/path\/to\/image1.jpg"}; var phpvar2_large = {"0":"http:\/\/path\/to\/image2.jpg"}; var phpvar3_large = null; var phpvar4_large = null; </script> <script language="javascript" type="text/javascript" src="/wshop/ext.js"></script> </head> <body onload="preloadImages()"> <div id="image"> <img id="theImage" src="http://path-to-main-image.jpg" alt="" /> </div> <div id="thumbs"> <img src="http://path-to-main-image.jpg" alt="" onmouseover="swapImage(0);"><img src="http://path-to-image1.jpg" alt="" onmouseover="swapImage(1);"><img src="http://path-to-image2.jpg" alt="" onmouseover="swapImage(2);"> <br /> </div> </body> `

  • Linux server, locating files containing nothing but 4 specific lines.

    - by Denis
    Hi, I'm dealing with a compromised website, in which hackers injected an htaccess instruction to redirect traffic. I can easily locate .htaccess files that contain the forwarding hack, BUT in cases where the directory already contained an htaccess file, they appended the dangerous instructions, so I cannot just deleted any htaccess file or could harm the site by letting formerly pw-protected directories wide open, or urlrewrite instructions (WordPress) be deleted, etc. I could not find the way to locate files that only contain those 4 lines of redirect hack, could you shed some light ? So far, using find . -type f -exec grep -q targetpiratedomain {} \; -exec echo rm {} \; Thanks !

  • AuthenticationForm - cookie cross site

    - by bit
    I've 2 web site, the first one myFirst.domain.com and the second one mySecondSite.domain.com. They stay on two different web server and my goal is allow a cross site authentication (my real need is shared authenticationForm Cookie). I've correctly setted web config (machine key node, forms node). The only different is about loginUrl where on myFirstSite appears like "~/login.aspx", instead on mySecondSite it appears like "http://myFirstSite.com/login.aspx". Note that I've not a virtual directory, I've just 2 different web apps. The problem: When I reach myFirstSite login page from mySecondSite I never get redirect from login page, it seems like if cookie doesn't being written. The following is a few of snippet about the issue: MyFirsSite: <machineKey validationKey="..." decryptionKey="..." validation="SHA1" decryption="AES" /> <authentication mode="Forms"> <forms loginUrl="login.aspx" name="authCookie" enableCrossAppRedirects="true"></forms> </authentication> <authorization> <deny users="?" /> <allow users="*"/> </authorization> MyFirstSite code behind: FormsAuthenticationTicket fat = new FormsAuthenticationTicket(1, "userName..", DateTime.Now, DateTime.Now.AddMinutes(30), true, "roles.."); string ticket = FormsAuthentication.Encrypt(fat); HttpCookie authCookie = new HttpCookie(FormsAuthentication.FormsCookieName, ticket); authCookie.Expires = fat.Expiration; authCookie.Domain = "myDomain.com"; Response.Cookies.Add(authCookie); // here other stuff about querystring checking in order to execute exact redirect, however it's not work, I always return on login page MySecondSite: <machineKey validationKey="..." decryptionKey="..." validation="SHA1" decryption="AES"/> <authentication mode="Forms"> <forms loginUrl="http://myFirstSite.domain.com/login.aspx?queryStringToIndicateUrlPage" enableCrossAppRedirects="true"></forms> </authentication> <authorization> Well, that's all. Unfortunately it doesn't works. please, don't pay attention to "queryStringToIndicateUrlPage", it's only simple workaround in order to know whether I must redirect on the same app or on the another one.

Now I would like to catch this 403, and give the user a popup with a custom message. I don't want to redirect users to a page saying that they have no rights. Is there any way the access-denied-handler of Spring can take care of a popup? Or can it only redirect to another page? Maybe there are other options for me? Thanks in advance!

  • How to get the action argument of a wp-login.php request?

    - by Bruno De Barros
    I am trying to integrate my custom user system with Wordpress, and I have recently asked a question on how to redirect requests to wp-login.php to my own login/registration page, but as I was working on the pluggable functions, I realized that requests to wp-login.php can either be for login, registration, or log out. This is set in the action argument that's made in the request. What I am trying to figure out is how to get this action argument, so I can redirect the request to my custom pages. Is there any way of doing this? Thank you in advance.

  • What is the best way to automated (integration) test with java with OpenId4Java against real OpenIdP

    - by mP
    I would like to do a bit more than manually test my openid glue code which happens to use the openid4java library. My goals would be to be able to run it within my IDE with a bunch of tests using Junit or similar. Selenium & tomcat I was thinking of using selenium and a tomcat but thats not exactly a nice approach as this is a bit heavy and not really lightweight. httpunit A solution with http-unit is incomplete because it doesnt really fit with the redirect to my openid provider, authenticate and redirect back. Perhaps i am wrong but this looks like it could get quite involved just to make sure this works. Mocks My last solution is to mock everything and assume thats its accurate and works. If google or yahoo ever change in some way, then ill have to verify manually. The approach is simple but with a major flaw.

  • asp.net page flickers

    - by user464111
    I have an asp.net webform. I have the background as an image,that when i aslo have a menu bar, when i click on an icon, it uses response.redirect() to redirect to a new page, but when it loads up the page, it seems like the background image is slow. I can see the backgroud as white first and then split seconds later the background image will load up, this causes an illusion of flickering when it redirects to a new page. How do i solve this problem? When i tested using visual studio web server, it dont flicker. I am using a background image in the master page hosted up on the internet.

  • Cakephp: Access data in add function

    - by Chris
    I'm using the CakePHP blog example: function add() { if (!empty($this->data)) { if ($this->Post->saveAll($this->data)) { $this->Session->setFlash('Your post has been saved.'); $this->redirect(array('action' => 'index')); } }} I want to modify it in a way that the user is redirected to the post after adding it: But this doesn't work: $this->redirect(array('action' => 'view', $this->Post->id))); What is the correct way to read the model's data after creation?

  • How to only allow users to a page through a rewrite?

    - by Pietu1998
    I have a website where I am using SSI to include some stuff to the front page. However, I'd like to show users an URL that ends with .html. I have accomplished that via a .htaccess and mod_rewrite redirect. RewriteRule ^index\.html$ index.shtml [PT,L] Also, I am using another redirect pointing to this URL to internally load the pages' content with JavaScript (example.html to index.html#example.html) with a condition for not redirecting index.html. Now, I'd like to make the .shtml page 403 Forbidden. This is also easy: RewriteRule ^index\.shtml - [F] But, now index.html also gets forbidden. I have tried adding L to the .html-to-.shtml rule, but this doesn't help. How could this problem be solved?

  • mod_rewrite: check if isn't a certain domain

    - by weingage
    I'm migrating some code from a working web app, but can't get it to work on the new server. Everything seems to be configured correctly, but I'm getting internal redirect limit errors in Apache2. Here are my rewrites and explanation This WORKS - any subdomains that aren't cdn. or manage. should be redirected to u.php RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^(^.*)\.mediasprk\.com$ [NC] RewriteCond ^(.*)$ !^(cdn|manage)$ RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !\.(png|gif|jpg)$ RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteRule ^(.*)$ u.php?uri=$1&hostName=%{HTTP_HOST} This is no longer working. Goal here is to handle CName pointing. So if it's not my app domain (mediasprk.com), then handle it by sending it to u.php. RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} !^mediasprk\.com$ [NC] RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI) !\.(png|gif|jpg)$ RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteRule ^(.*)$ u.php?uri=$1&hostName=%{HTTP_HOST} Can anyone see the issue here in the second block that would cause the redirect limit errors? Maybe something wrong in the rewrites? Thanks.

  • a minimal change to my code is breaking it

    - by Delirium tremens
    Works (it sets lasturi): var domainnameuri; var generaldomainnameuri; domainnameuri = sc.domainnameuri; generaldomainnameuri = sc.generaldomainnameuri; sc.redirectinggeneral = false; $.ajax({ type: "GET", url: generaldomainnameuri, success: function(data, textStatus) { if (data.redirect == domainnameuri) { sc.redirectinggeneral = true; } sc.setlasturi(); } }); Doesn't work (it doesn't set lasturi): this.setredirectinggeneral = function(c) { var domainnameuri; var generaldomainnameuri; domainnameuri = sc.domainnameuri; generaldomainnameuri = sc.generaldomainnameuri; sc.redirectinggeneral = false; $.ajax({ type: "GET", url: generaldomainnameuri, success: function(data, textStatus) { if (data.redirect == domainnameuri) { sc.redirectinggeneral = true; } c(); } }); } sc.setredirectinggeneral(sc.setlasturi); Why?
