It does this; however, it also seems to report a strange additional value, 99. I figure that the 99 is coming from the computation of the distance between point a and c but I don't understand why it is appearing in the final output as it does.

  I'm using imagebuttons that play sounds using SoundPool. • Is there a better way to avoid an infinite loop using winforms?

  I am using .Net 3.5 for now. Right now I am using a using trick to disable and enable events around certain sections of code. The user can change either days, hours, minutes or total minutes, and that should not cause an infinite cascade of events (e.g. minutes changing total, total changing minutes, etc.) While the code does what I want, there might be a better / more straight-forward way. Do you know of any? For brawny points: This control will be used by multiple teams - I do not want to make it embarrassing. I suspect that I do not need to reinvent the wheel when defining hours in a day, days in week, etc. Some other standard .Net library out there must have it. Any other remarks regarding code? This using (EventHacker.DisableEvents(this)) business - that must be a common pattern in .Net ... changing the setting temporarily. What is the name of it? I'd like to be able to refer to it in a comment and also read up more on current implementations. In the general case not only a handle to the thing being changed needs to be remembered, but also the previous state (in this case previous state does not matter - events are turned on and off unconditionally). Then there is also a possibility of multi-threaded hacking. One could also utilize generics to make the code arguably cleaner. Figuring all this out can lead to a multi-page blog post. I'd be happy to hear some of the answers. P.S. Does it seem like I suffer from obsessive compulsive disorder? • PIG doesn't read my custom InputFormat

  I have a custom MyInputFormat that suppose to deal with record boundary problem for multi-lined inputs. But when I put the MyInputFormat into my UDF load function. • Inserting contact with android and querying the result uri returns no entries

  Im developing an application which is dealing with the android contacts API. I implemented methods to insert, update and query contacts. So far everything worked (writing and reading contacts). At one point in my project Im experiencing a strange behaviour. I insert a contact using batch mode. I receive the URI to the RawContact. Why does the same rawContactUri return the contact at one place and does not on another place? And why do I get a lookup uri from a raw contact, which is not working at all?

  I want to know if there is a better way (than what I'm currently doing) to obtain and hold a reference to a property in another object using only the object and property string names. Particularly, is there a better way to do this with the new dynamic functionality of .Net 4.0? Here is what I have right now. I have a "PropertyReference<T>" object that takes an object name and property name in the constructor. An Initialize() method uses reflection to find the object and property and stores the property Getter as an Action<T> and the property Setter as an Func<T>. When I want to actually call the property I do something like this: int x = _propertyReference.Get(); or _propertyReference.Set(2); Here is my PropertyReference<T> code.   Hi, I would like to run SSIS 2008 packages on a server that does not have SQL Server 2008 installed on it. I have a simple package to test the concept, but it fails to execute. The return code is 9020 which I have not seen listed as a return code elsewhere. I have copied the following files to the test server that does not have SQL Server 2008 installed on it: SelfContainedSample.dtsConfig Package.dtsx DTExec.exe I am attempting to run the package using a batch file. The line in the batch file that runs the package is: "%dtexecloc%\dtexec.exe" /FILE "%packagefolder%\Package.dtsx" /CONFIGFILE "%configfolder\SelfContainedSample.dtsConfig" /CHECKPOINTING OFF /REPORTING E %logfile% set rc=%errorlevel% I am wondering if there are other requirements that need to be satified to run an SSIS 2008 package on a server that does not have SQL Server 2008 on it? .NET Runtime?   Is there a simple way to inject a dependency into every repository instance in Doctrine2 ? I have tried listening to the loadClassMetadata event and using setter injection on the repository but this naturally resulted in a infinite loop as calling getRepository in the event triggered the same event.   Using VS 2010, with ASP.NET, and .NET 3.0, and C#... When I use a System.Web.UI.WebControls.SqlDataSource and call its Insert() method to insert a new row, and that table has an identity column, I'd like my method to return the value of that column. For example, in my SQL 2005 table, I've got: Customer.Id Customer.FirstName Customer.LastName Where Customer.Id is an identity colum. When I call my method InsertNewCustomerRecord( "John", "Smith" ), I'd like to be able to return the Customer.Id that gets automatically generated in the database.   my view generates keys in this format ["job_id:1234567890", 1271430291000] where the first key element is a unique key and the second is a timestamp in milliseconds. • Performance of looping over an Unboxed array in Haskell

  First of all, it's great. However, I came across a situation where my benchmarks turned up weird results. I am new to Haskell, and this is first time I've gotten my hands dirty with mutable arrays and Monads. The code below is based on this example. I wrote a generic monadic for function that takes numbers and a step function rather than a range (like forM_ does). I compared using my generic for function (Loop A) against embedding an equivalent recursive function (Loop B). Having Loop A is noticeably faster than having Loop B. Weirder, having both Loop A and B together is faster than having Loop B by itself (but slightly slower than Loop A by itself). Some possible explanations I can think of for the discrepancies. Note that these are just guesses: Something I haven't learned yet about how Haskell extracts results from monadic functions. Loop B faults the array in a less cache efficient manner than Loop A. Why? I made a dumb mistake; Loop A and Loop B are actually different. Note that in all 3 cases of having either or both Loop A and Loop B, the program produces the same output. Here is the code. Comments = _Model.GetComments(id), }) ....... ..... return Json(jsonData, JsonRequestBehavior.AllowGet); } _Model.GetComments(id) will return a ClientComments Object which has a few properties say CommentID, FirstName, MiddleName etc., which will be bound to each row in the grid Now in my jqgrid I need to build a tool tip based on Comments column properties and for that I need to use the properties of my Comments in JQGrid for each row. May I know How I can manipulate Comment's properties for each row? Any help would be appreciated. I tried in my javascript that for each row rowObject.Comments.FirstName and it did not work.

  My Delphi program relies heavily on Outlook automation. Outlook versions prior to 2007-SP2 tend to get stuck in memory due to badly written addins and badly written Outlook code. If Outlook is stuck, calling CreateOleObject('Outlook.Application') or GetActiveObject ... doesn't return and keeps my application hanging till Outlook.exe is closed in the task manager. I've thought of a solution, but I'm unsure whether it's good practice or not. I'd start Outlook with CreateOleObject in a separate thread, wait 10 seconds in my main thread and if Outlook hangs (CreateOleObject doesn't return), offer the user to kill the Outlook.exe process from my program. But since I don't want to force the user to kill the Outlook.exe process, as an alternative I also need a way to kill the new thread in my program which keeps hanging now. Is this good practice? How can I terminate a hanging thread in Delphi without leaking memory?

• Android: Creating custom class of resources

  Hi, R class on android has it's limitations. You can't use the resources dynamically for loading audio, pictures or whatever. If you wan't for example, load a set of audio files for a choosen object you can't do something like: R.raw."string-upon-choosen-object" I'm new to android and at least I didn't find how you could do that, depending on what objects are choosen or something more dynamic than that. So, I thought about making it dynamic with a little of memory overhead. But, I'm in doubt if it's worth it or just working different with external resources. The idea is this: Modify the ant build xml to execute my own task. This task, is a java program that parses the R.java file building a set of HashMaps with it's pair (key, value). I have done this manually and It's working good. So I need some experts voice about it. This is how I will manage the whole thing: Generate a base Application class, e.g. MainApplicationResources that builds up all the require methods and attributes. Then, you can access those methods invoking getApplication() and then the desired method. • Content-Length header not returned from Pylons response

  I'm still struggling to Stream a file to the HTTP response in Pylons. In addition to the original problem, I'm finding that I cannot return the Content-Length header, so that for large files the client cannot estimate how long the download will take. I've tried response.content_length = 12345 and I've tried response.headers['Content-Length'] = 12345 In both cases the HTTP response (viewed in Fiddler) simply does not contain the Content-Length header. How do I get Pylons to return this header? (Oh, and if you have any ideas on making it stream the file please reply to the original question - I'm all out of ideas there.)
