  • How to Detect that Current (Bash) Shell is a (Vi/Vim) Subshell?

    - by Jeet
From inside Vi/Vim, I can type: :shell to drop into a shell. Is there any way to detect that I am in a Vi-spawned subshell? The environmental variable SHLVL is 2, but that does not tell me explicitly that I am in a Vi/Vim-spawned subshell. On OS X, the following variables are also set: MYVIMRC, VIMRUNTIME, VIM. How universal are these? Can I count on these being set in any system, if and only if I am in a Vi/Vim subshell? If not, is there any portable, robust and hopefully efficient way to tell that I am in a Vi/Vim subshell? Thanks.

  • C# hash password create salt question

    - by 5YrsLaterDBA
If I create salt by using something like this: public class User { private const int Hash_Salt_Length = 8; private byte[] saltBytes = new byte[Hash_Salt_Length]; public User() { RNGCryptoServiceProvider rng = new RNGCryptoServiceProvider(); rng.GetNonZeroBytes(saltBytes); } .... } The saltBytes bytes array will be different for each session (restart the application). How can I check password to allow user login our application?

  • Managing User Profiles with PHP/MySQL for Beginners

    - by serhio
I am beginner in PHP/MySql and would develop a simple site that has user management. I like the idea of using OpenId's (like stackoverflow uses). I wonder from where to start? What should I read? I have not much time so probably will net enter in all details of PHP user session management, this because I search something like User profiles management in PHP for dummies 8D Environment: Linux OS Apache 2.2.15 MySQL 5.1.41 PHP 5.2.13 cPanel 11.25.0

  • How to rebuild Safari Web Clip functionality in PHP

    - by Mayko
Hi there, is there a way to rebuild Mac OSX Snow Leopard's Dashboard Widget 'Web Clip' on a PHP website? Something like a crawler or scraper. I thought about using file_get_contents to getting the page content into the page, but how do I select a section on the external page? And does this work with session/login content as well? I'm happy for any kind of suggestions! Cheers

Now, when I hit the login operation, with admin,admin,127.0.0.1, I get true as return. ESB console shows logged in. Now, when I hit logout operation, I dont get any response. Also I notice that header of the response does not contain any session ID. 0down voteaccept My ESB is 4.6.0. login request : <soapenv:Envelope xmlns:soapenv="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:aut="http://authentication.services.core.carbon.wso2.org"> <soapenv:Header/> <soapenv:Body> <aut:login> <!--Optional:--> <aut:username>admin</aut:username> <!--Optional:--> <aut:password>admin</aut:password> <!--Optional:--> <aut:remoteAddress>127.0.0.1</aut:remoteAddress> </aut:login> </soapenv:Body> </soapenv:Envelope> login response <soapenv:Envelope xmlns:soapenv="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/"> <soapenv:Body> <ns:loginResponse xmlns:ns="http://authentication.services.core.carbon.wso2.org"> <ns:return>true</ns:return> </ns:loginResponse> </soapenv:Body> </soapenv:Envelope> In the response, when I hit login I see, at bottom I only get 6 elements in header as follows : > Date Tue, 25 Jun 2013 14:31:42 GMT > > Transfer-Encoding chunked > > #status# HTTP/1.1 200 OK > > Content-Type text/xml; charset=UTF-8 > > Connection Keep-Alive > > Server WSO2-PassThrough-HTTP Now, I dont get session ID. Can you please point out where m I going wrong? My scenario is that I want to login to WSO2 and then hit some other admin service operation.

  • Database schema for simple stats project

    - by Bubnoff
Backdrop: I have a file hierarchy of cvs files for multiple locations named by dates they cover ...by month specifically. Each cvs file in the folder is named after the location. eg', folder name: 2010-feb contains: location1.csv location2.csv Each CSV file holds records like this: 2010-06-28, 20:30:00 , 0 2010-06-29, 08:30:00 , 0 2010-06-29, 09:30:00 , 0 2010-06-29, 10:30:00 , 0 2010-06-29, 11:30:00 , 0 meaning of record columns ( column names ): Date, time, # of sessions I have a perl script that pulls the data from this mess and originally I was going to store it as json files, but am thinking a database might be more appropriate long term ...comparing year to year trends ...fun stuff like that. Pt 2 - My question/problem: So I now have a REST service that coughs up json with a test database. My question is [ I suck at db design ], how best to design a database backend for this? I am thinking the following tables would suffice and keep it simple: Location: (PK)location_code, name session: (PK)id, (FK)location_code, month, hour, num_sessions I need to be able to average sessions (plus min and max) for each hour across days of week in addition to days of week in a given month or months. I've been using perl hashes to do this and am trying to decide how best to implement this with a database. Do you think stored procedures should be used? As to the database, depending on info gathered here, it will be postgresql or sqlite. If there is no compelling reason for postgresql I'll stick with sqlite. How and where should I compare the data to hours of operation. I am storing the hours of operation in a yaml file. I currently 'match' the hour in the data to a hash from the yaml to do this. Would a database open simpler methods? I am thinking I would do this comparison as I do now then insert the data. Can be recalled with: SELECT hour, num_sessions FROM session WHERE location_code=LOC1 Since only hours of operation are present, I do not need to worry about it. Should I calculate all results as I do now then store as a stats table for different 'reports'? This, rather than processing on demand? How would this look? Anyway ...I ramble. Thanks for reading! • JComobox is not showing in the JDialog

    - by Pujan Srivastava
    I have 2 classes. when I put bold 3 lines in the method addCourses() the dialog does not show combobox in the Panel but when I remove from addCourses and put those bold lines in the constructor, JComboBox are shown in the Panel. But data will not show because data items updates to ComboBox will happen after Constructor is created. How can I solve this problem. this.mainPanel.add(courseCombo, BorderLayout.NORTH); this.mainPanel.add(sessionCombo, BorderLayout.CENTER); this.mainPanel.add(courseButton, BorderLayout.SOUTH); public class Updator { CourseListFrame clf = new CourseListFrame(); for(...){ clf.addContentsToBox(displayName, className); } clf.addCourses(); } and second class is public class CourseListFrame extends JDialog implements ActionListener { public JPanel mainPanel = new JPanel(new BorderLayout(2, 2)); public JButton courseButton = new JButton(("Submit")); public JComboBox courseCombo; public JComboBox sessionCombo; public Multimap<String, String> map; // = HashMultimap.create(); public static CourseListFrame courseListDialog; public CourseListFrame() { super(this.getMainFrame()); this.getContentPane().add(mainPanel); map = HashMultimap.create(); courseCombo = new JComboBox(); courseCombo.addItem("Select Courses"); courseCombo.addActionListener(this); sessionCombo = new JComboBox(); } public void addContentsToBox(String course, String session) { map.put(course, session); courseCombo.addItem(course); } public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent e) { JComboBox cb = (JComboBox) e.getSource(); String str = (String) cb.getSelectedItem(); setSessionCombo(str); } public void setSessionCombo(String course) { if (map.containsKey(course)) { sessionCombo.removeAllItems(); Iterator it = map.get(course).iterator(); while (it.hasNext()) { sessionCombo.addItem(it.next()); } } } public void addCourses() { this.mainPanel.add(courseCombo, BorderLayout.NORTH); this.mainPanel.add(sessionCombo, BorderLayout.CENTER); this.mainPanel.add(courseButton, BorderLayout.SOUTH); } public static void showCourseListDialog() { if (courseListDialog == null) { courseListDialog = new CourseListFrame(); } courseListDialog.pack(); courseListDialog.setVisible(true); courseListDialog.setSize(260, 180); } }

  • Separation of presentation and business logic in PHP

    - by Markus Ossi
I am programming my first real PHP website and am wondering how to make my code more readable to myself. The reference book I am using is PHP and MySQL Web Development 4th ed. The aforementioned book gives three approaches to separating logic and content: include files function or class API template system I haven't chosen any of these yet, as wrapping my brains around these concepts is taking some time. However, my code has become some hybrid of the first two as I am just copy-pasting away here and modifying as I go. On presentation side, all of my pages have these common elements: header, top navigation, sidebar navigation, content, right sidebar and footer. The function-based examples in the book suggest that I could have these display functions that handle all the presentation example. So, my page code will be like this: display_header(); display_navigation(); display_content(); display_footer(); However, I don't like this because the examples in the book have these print statements with HTML and PHP mixed up like this: echo "<tr bgcolor=\"".$color."\"><td><a href=\"".$url."\">" ... I would rather like to have HTML with some PHP in the middle, not the other way round. I am thinking of making my pages so that at the beginning of my page, I will fetch all the data from database and put it in arrays. I will also get the data for variables. If there are any errors in any of these processes, I will put them into error strings. Then, at the HTML code, I will loop through these arrays using foreach and display the content. In some cases, there will be some variables that will be shown. If there is an error variable that is set, I will display that at the proper position. (As a side note: The thing I do not understand is that in most example code, if some database query or whatnot gives an error, there is always: else echo 'Error'; This baffles me, because when the example code gives an error, it is sometimes echoed out even before the HTML has started...) For people who have used ASP.NET, I have gotten somewhat used to the code-behind files and lblError and I am trying to do something similar here. The thing I haven't figured out is how could I do this "do logic first, then presentation" thing so that I would not have to replicate for example the navigation logic and navigation presentation in all of the pages. Should I do some include files or could I use functions here but a little bit differently? Are there any good articles where these "styles" of separating presentation and logic are explained a little bit more thoroughly. The book I have only has one paragraph about this stuff. What I am thinking is that I am talking about some concepts or ways of doing PHP programming here, but I just don't know the terms for them yet. I know this isn't a straight forward question, I just need some help in organizing my thoughts.

  • Percona system tables corrupted.

    - by Anand Jeyahar
I am having problems setting up mysql replication with a percona as server. accidentally, took a full dump from mysql and restored it on percona and then started, the replication. now when i stop slave and start slave, i am getting the error "[ERROR] Failed to open the relay log './s5-bin.000003' (relay_log_pos 2029993) 110103 9:15:59 [ERROR] Could not find target log during relay log initialization " But show local variables shows the relay_log variable as set in the cnf file.. But the relay-log variable is set to slave-relay-bin alright. I am able to start mysql as a service. But mysqld_safe fails with error "110103 9:19:39 [ERROR] /usr/sbin/mysqld: Can't create/write to file '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.pid' (Errcode: 2) 110103 9:19:39 [ERROR] Can't start server: can't create PID file: No such file or directory " Am now lost as to what is the problem.

  • Can expire_logs_days be less than 1 day in MySQL?

    - by Scott
So... yesterday I received an "after the fact email" about a campaign that has started for one of the services that I run. Now the DB server is getting hammered, hard, to the tune of about 300mb/min in binary logging for the replicate. As you could imagine, this is chewing up space at a fairly tremendous rate. My normal 7 day expiry of binary logs just isn't cutting it. I've resorted to truncating logs to just the last for 4 hours with(I'm verifying that replication is up to date with mk-heartbeat): PURGE MASTER LOGS BEFORE DATE_SUB( NOW(), INTERVAL 4 HOUR); I'm just running that from cron every few hours to weather the storm, but it made me question the minimum value for expire_logs_days. I haven't come across a value that is less than 1, but that doesn't mean that it isn't possible. http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.0/en/server-system-variables.html#sysvar_expire_logs_days gives the type as being numeric, but doesn't indicate if it's expecting integers.

  • Tomcat Load Balalncing - Programatic Parameter Based ??

    - by Gala101
Here's the scenario: Many users access an application (running on tomcat), the user's data is segmented into multiple databases, say each db containing 1000 user's data. Now is it somehow possible to have 100s of tomcat servers running on 'inexpensive' PC class machines with each connecting to a single db, with user's session getting passed to appropriate tomcat and becoming 'Sticky' there. Can have some sort of 'gateway' deciding which user goes where and doing the load-balancing appropriately. Would make a great scalability solution :)

  • Saving private data

    - by rajatgoel
Hi, Can anybody detail some approach on how to save private data in social websites like facebook, etc. They cant save all the updates and friends list in clear text format because of privacy issues. So how do they actually save it? Hashing all the data with user password so that only a valid session view it is one possibility. But I think there are some problem with this approach and there must be some better solution.

  • Unit Test Sessions Window Closes when debugging

    - by Daniel Dyson
When I select an NUnit test in the Unit Test Sessions window and click debug, the window disappears. My breakpoints are hit, but if I hit F5, the Unit Test Sessions window does not return until the test returns a result or I stop the debugging session. This is preventing me from viewing any console output during tests. Any ideas?

  • Some $_SERVER parameters missing when accessing PHP script via Cron

    - by Jakobud
I have a script that I need to run with PHP via cron. The original author of the script made a lot of user of certain $_SERVER parameters (like REQUEST_URI). But it appears that certain variables don't exist when running PHP via command line or via CRON. For example, there is no request uri, so it makes sense that the REQUEST_URI parameter wouldn't be available. Is there any way around this other than to completely rewrite the script in order to avoid using special $_SERVER parameters that aren't universally available?

  • How do i know if a mysql table is using myISAM or InnoDB Engine

    - by kamal
I want to confirm if the statement below is indeed true: There is no way to specify a storage engine for a certain database, only for single tables, You can, however, specify a storage engine to be used during one session with: SET storage_engine=InnoDB; so you don't have to specify it for each table. How do i confirm, if indeed all the tables are using InnoDB All the tables were using myISAM.

  • Do I need more RAM for programming if I switch to a 64 Bit OS?

    - by Buttercup
Hi, Given that today (for performance reasons?) variables are usually aligned to the "bit-width" (I wanted to use "word-width" here, but on x86 a "word" is still 16 bits right?) of the processor, would switching from a 32 bit OS to its 64 bit version double the RAM usage? Would this then in turn mean that to do the same work a 32 bit OS can do with 4 GB RAM (well, the 3.x GB actually...) with a 64 bit OS I would need 8 GB of RAM for programming? Please note that I'm only talking about everyday x86 computers here.

  • How do I change HOMEDRIVE HOMEPATH and HOMESHARE in Windows XP?

    - by user26034
I have got a laptop which is configured to have the user profile in a network drive. This is causing me a lot of headaches since the connectivity to my company is very slow. I want to relocate the profile of my user into a local directory. How do I do that? Those are the settings at the moment: C:\>set HOME HOMEDRIVE=P: HOMEPATH=\ HOMESHARE=\\SOMESERVER\_myuser$ The drive P is a network drive mapped to HOMESHARE. I can't find where windows is setting those environment variables, not even in the registry. The laptop is running Windows XP.
