  I have a list of objects which I want to turn into a set. My objects contain a few fields that some of which are o.id and o.area. I want two objects to be equal if these two fields are the same. ie: o1==o2 if and only if o1.area==o2.area and o1.id==o2.id. I tried over-writing __eq__ and __cmp__ but I get the error: TypeError: unhashable instance. What should I over-write?

I could possibly write an app to be housed within AppStore and query the Datastore returning XML-formatted data; I want to know, however, if there are any Datastore endpoints which would allow me to do it directly.   I want to start my daemon with my application. In the command line, I can write something like lib/daemons/mydaemon_ctl start to start up my daemon, but I have to do this manually. I want the daemon to start when I start my server (i.e. when the initializer files are loaded). Is there a ruby command for executing a command line? Something like exec "lib/daemons/mydaemon_ctl start"? Thanks!

When we upgrade a library it would be useful to quickly find out which projects have a dependency on the library (and might need to use the new version) Obviously I can manually look in all the pom files or write a script to do it but this is less than ideal. Are there any tools that provide this functionality. e.g. a hudson plugin, Nexus, artifactory etc?

  So I have two cell arrays: A = {2 2 2 2} B = {[1 2] [3 2] [5 5] [7 7]} and a function of two arguments: F = @(a, b) [a * b(1), (b(2) / 3), (b(1) + a) * 22] And I want to apply the function to the two cell arrays like so: idealfun(F, A, B) and have it do the right thing (return a cell array with four cells of 1x3 vectors). Any ideas how to find/write idealfun?

  Does Python offer a way to iterate over all "consecutive sublists" of a given list L - i.e. sublists of L where any two consecutive elements are also consecutive in L - or should I write my own? (Example: if L = [1, 2, 3], then the set over which I want to iterate is {[1], [2], [3], [1, 2], [2,3], [1, 2, 3]}. [1, 3] is skipped since 1 and 3 are not consecutive in L.)

What's the equivalent in ASP.NET MVC? I'm guessing I'd need to use a partial view for the bit that I want to update, then on the client side retrieve that HTML and pump it into the innerHtml of the correct DIV?
