  • Image loader cant load my live image url

    - by Bindhu
    In my application i need to load the images in list view, when using locale(ip ported url) then no problem all images are loading properly, But when using live url then the images are not loading, My image loader class: public class ImageLoader { MemoryCache memoryCache = new MemoryCache(); FileCache fileCache; private Map<ImageView, String> imageViews = Collections .synchronizedMap(new WeakHashMap<ImageView, String>()); ExecutorService executorService; public ImageLoader(Context context) { fileCache = new FileCache(context); executorService = Executors.newFixedThreadPool(5); } final int stub_id = R.drawable.appointeesample; public void DisplayImage(String url, ImageView imageView) { imageViews.put(imageView, url); Bitmap bitmap = memoryCache.get(url); if (bitmap != null) imageView.setImageBitmap(bitmap); else { Log.d("stub", "stub" + stub_id); queuePhoto(url, imageView); imageView.setImageResource(stub_id); } } private void queuePhoto(String url, ImageView imageView) { PhotoToLoad p = new PhotoToLoad(url, imageView); executorService.submit(new PhotosLoader(p)); } private Bitmap getBitmap(String url) { File f = fileCache.getFile(url); // from SD cache Bitmap b = decodeFile(f); if (b != null) return b; // from web try { Bitmap bitmap = null; URL imageUrl = new URL(url); HttpURLConnection conn = (HttpURLConnection) imageUrl .openConnection(); conn.setConnectTimeout(30000); conn.setReadTimeout(30000); conn.setInstanceFollowRedirects(true); InputStream is = conn.getInputStream(); BufferedInputStream bis = new BufferedInputStream(is, 81960); BitmapFactory.Options opts = new BitmapFactory.Options(); opts.inJustDecodeBounds = true; OutputStream os = new FileOutputStream(f); Utils.CopyStream(bis, os); os.close(); bitmap = decodeFile(f); Log.d("bitmap", "Bit map" + bitmap); return bitmap; } catch (Exception ex) { ex.printStackTrace(); return null; } } // decodes image and scales it to reduce memory consumption private Bitmap decodeFile(File f) { try { try { BitmapFactory.Options o = new BitmapFactory.Options(); o.inJustDecodeBounds = true; BitmapFactory.decodeStream(new FileInputStream(f), null, o); final int REQUIRED_SIZE = 200; int scale = 1; while (o.outWidth / scale / 2 >= REQUIRED_SIZE && o.outHeight / scale / 2 >= REQUIRED_SIZE) scale *= 2; BitmapFactory.Options o2 = new BitmapFactory.Options(); o2.inSampleSize = scale; return BitmapFactory.decodeStream(new FileInputStream(f), null, o2); } catch (FileNotFoundException e) { } finally { System.gc(); } return null; } catch (Exception e) { } return null; } // Task for the queue private class PhotoToLoad { public String url; public ImageView imageView; public PhotoToLoad(String u, ImageView i) { url = u; imageView = i; } } class PhotosLoader implements Runnable { PhotoToLoad photoToLoad; PhotosLoader(PhotoToLoad photoToLoad) { this.photoToLoad = photoToLoad; } @Override public void run() { if (imageViewReused(photoToLoad)) return; Bitmap bmp = getBitmap(photoToLoad.url); memoryCache.put(photoToLoad.url, bmp); if (imageViewReused(photoToLoad)) return; BitmapDisplayer bd = new BitmapDisplayer(bmp, photoToLoad); Activity a = (Activity) photoToLoad.imageView.getContext(); a.runOnUiThread(bd); } } boolean imageViewReused(PhotoToLoad photoToLoad) { String tag = imageViews.get(photoToLoad.imageView); if (tag == null || !tag.equals(photoToLoad.url)) return true; return false; } // Used to display bitmap in the UI thread class BitmapDisplayer implements Runnable { Bitmap bitmap; PhotoToLoad photoToLoad; public BitmapDisplayer(Bitmap b, PhotoToLoad p) { bitmap = b; photoToLoad = p; } public void run() { if (imageViewReused(photoToLoad)) return; if (bitmap != null) photoToLoad.imageView.setImageBitmap(bitmap); else photoToLoad.imageView.setImageResource(stub_id); } } public void clearCache() { memoryCache.clear(); fileCache.clear(); } My Live Image url for Example: https://goappointed.com/images_upload/3330Torana_Logo.JPG I have referred google but no solution is working, Thanks a lot in advance.

  • How to get the time on the point that you click on the clock?

    - by Jeff
    For instance, when you click the clock on the screen, there will pop up a notification/dialog which displays the exact time point. Anyone can tell me how to achieve this function? Thanks in advance! Maybe I should explain the "exact time point" . For example, there is a big analog clock on the screen. When you click around the dial, it will pop up a dialog box to display the exact time.

  • Overfocus in GridView

    - by chuck258
    I'm trying to implement a GridView that Focuses the next Item and "Overscrolls at the End of a List. E.g. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 I want to scroll 1 2 3 4 5 6 ... just by pressing the right Key. Right now I can only Scroll 1 2 3 and then it stops and I have to scroll with the down Key. I already tried to set the focusViews in code (In the getView() method of my ArrayList Adapter, that fills the GridView) view.setId(position); view.setNextFocusLeftId(position-1); view.setNextFocusRightId(position+1); But that doesn't work. I found the boolean *Scroll(int direction) Methods on grepcode But theese are Package Local and I can't overwrite them. Any suggestions on how to solve this. Can I use another View and get the same Layout as a Gridview? I also set a OnFocusChangeListener to see what happens with no reaction. Edit: I just added this to my MainActivity, but now it seems to onKeyDown only get called when the GridView doesn't handle the KeyEvent (If the Last Item in a row is selected). @Override public boolean onKeyDown(int keyCode, KeyEvent event) { switch (keyCode) { case KeyEvent.KEYCODE_DPAD_LEFT: if (focusedView > 0) { mContainer.setSelection(--focusedView); Log.v("TEST", focusedView+""); } return true; case KeyEvent.KEYCODE_DPAD_RIGHT: if (focusedView < mAdapter.getCount() - 1) { mContainer.setSelection(++focusedView); Log.v("TEST", focusedView+""); } return true; } return super.onKeyDown(keyCode, event); } Edit 2: This is so f***ing stupid but works so damn fine :D @Override public boolean onKeyDown(int keyCode, KeyEvent event) { switch (keyCode) { case KeyEvent.KEYCODE_DPAD_LEFT: mContainer.onKeyDown(KeyEvent.KEYCODE_DPAD_UP, new KeyEvent(KeyEvent.ACTION_DOWN, KeyEvent.KEYCODE_DPAD_UP)); mContainer.onKeyDown(KeyEvent.KEYCODE_DPAD_RIGHT, new KeyEvent(KeyEvent.ACTION_DOWN, KeyEvent.KEYCODE_DPAD_RIGHT)); mContainer.onKeyDown(KeyEvent.KEYCODE_DPAD_RIGHT, new KeyEvent(KeyEvent.ACTION_DOWN, KeyEvent.KEYCODE_DPAD_RIGHT)); return true; case KeyEvent.KEYCODE_DPAD_RIGHT: mContainer.onKeyDown(KeyEvent.KEYCODE_DPAD_DOWN, new KeyEvent(KeyEvent.ACTION_DOWN, KeyEvent.KEYCODE_DPAD_DOWN)); mContainer.onKeyDown(KeyEvent.KEYCODE_DPAD_LEFT, new KeyEvent(KeyEvent.ACTION_DOWN, KeyEvent.KEYCODE_DPAD_LEFT)); mContainer.onKeyDown(KeyEvent.KEYCODE_DPAD_LEFT, new KeyEvent(KeyEvent.ACTION_DOWN, KeyEvent.KEYCODE_DPAD_LEFT)); return true; } return super.onKeyDown(keyCode, event); } I really don't want to post this as Answer, and I really don't want to have to use this Code because it is such a stupid workaround ;TLDR: Help still needed

  • Problems with starting an activity in onStart

    - by Fizz
    Hello everyone. I'm trying to start a floating activity from onStart to retrieve some info from the user right when the initial activity begins. I have the following: @Override public void onStart(){ super.onStart(); callProfileDialog(); } And callProfileDialog() is just: private void callProfileDialog(){ Intent i = new Intent(this, com.utility.ProfileDialog.class); startActivityForResult(i, PROFDIALOG); } ProfileDialog.class returns a String from an input box. If the result returned is RESULT_CANCELED then I restart the activity. The problem I'm having is that when the program starts, the screen is just black. If I hit the Back button a RESULT_CANCELED is returned then the initial activity shows as well as the floating activity (since it recalled itself when it got a RESULT_CANCELED). Why can't I get the activities show by calling ProfileDialog.class from onStart()? I got the same result when I called it at the end of onCreate() which is way I switch over to use onStart(). Thanks for the help.

  • AsyncTask never finishes when other tasks are running

    - by rebeccamaher
    In my app, I show a menu screen immediately to the user and then use an AsyncTask to load some data from disk. Loading takes about 3 seconds if that's all the app had to do. When the user hits a menu option and the data hasn't loaded yet, a "Please wait, loading" screen appears. I have two problems: I recently added ads to my app and have found this is making my app hang sometimes because the AsyncTask never finishes loading. What seems to be happening is that the ad banner (I'm using admob and this happens when adsense ads are shown which admob do occasionally) is using resources by playing a simple animation and the AsyncTask never gets a chance to finish. I want to play a simple looping animation (e.g. making a view rotate) on my menu screen and this makes the AsyncTask take about 5 times longer to finish which renders the background loading pointless. How can I avoid situations where my background data never finishes loading or has such a low priority it takes a long time? I can't seem to find a way to increase the priority of an AsyncTask.

  • OnClickListener on Tabs not working

    - by Aracos
    Greetings, I am trying to get the Click - event when clicking on the currently selected tab of my TabActivity. The onTabChangedHandler is only called whenever the tab is changed, not if the currently active Tab is clicked. The debugger tells me i have the onClickListener Registered for the TabWidget within my TabHost. Am i registering for the wrong View? Also, I am unable to create a Context Menu for the Tabs, only for its content, is this problem related? public class TestDroidViewTab extends TabActivity implements TabContentFactory , OnTabChangeListener, OnClickListener { private static final String LOG_KEY = "TEST"; ListView listView; @Override protected void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); final TabHost tabHost = getTabHost(); TabHost.TabSpec ts = tabHost.newTabSpec("ID_1"); ts.setIndicator("1"); ts.setContent(this); tabHost.addTab(ts); ts = tabHost.newTabSpec("ID_2"); ts.setIndicator("2"); ts.setContent(this); tabHost.addTab(ts); ts = tabHost.newTabSpec("ID_3"); ts.setIndicator("3"); ts.setContent(this); tabHost.addTab(ts); tabHost.setOnClickListener(this); tabHost.setOnTabChangedListener(this); } public void onClick(View v) { Log.d(LOG_KEY, "OnClick"); } public void onTabChanged(String tabId) { Log.d(LOG_KEY, "OnTabChanged"); }

  • AlarmManager Calling Function in Same Class

    - by jsc123
    I am trying to give a LocationClient a two-minute period to connect before calling getLastLocation on it. Initially I implemented this with a Timer (and TimerTask), but because Timers do not work in sleepmode, I would like to translate it to an AlarmManager. However, I am a bit confused as to how to do this, considering an AlarmManager calls another class, whereas I want to remain in the same class and simply delay for a two-minute period. This is how it looks with a Timer. Timer theTimer = new Timer(); theTimer.schedule(new TimerTask() { @Override public void run() { if(checkIfGooglePlay() && checkTime()) { getPostLocation(); stopSelf(); mLocationClient.disconnect(); } } }, TWO_MINUTES);

  • When marking an item (changing background color) in ListView it's repeating for other items.

    - by Adi
    If I want to mark the second item I'm doing the following code: This code is from my Adapter that extends ArrayAdapter : if (convertView == null) { LayoutInflater mInflater = (LayoutInflater)getContext().getSystemService(Context.LAYOUT_INFLATER_SERVICE); convertView = mInflater.inflate(R.layout.channel_list, null); } MyContent o = items.get(position); if (o != null) { TextView tt = (TextView) convertView.findViewById(R.id.toptext); TextView bt = (TextView) convertView.findViewById(R.id.bottomtext); if (tt != null) { tt.setText(o.Top()); } if(bt != null){ bt.setText(o.Bottom()); } if(position == 2) { convertView.setBackgroundColor(R.color.selectem_color); } } return convertView; It will show the list view but mark every 9'th item after this item (the 11'th item 13'th and so on). Does anyone know what's the reason?

  • Is there a faster way to download a page from the net to a string?

    - by cphil5
    I have tried other methods to download info from a URL, but needed a faster one. I need to download and parse about 250 separate pages, and would like the app to not appear ridiculously slow. This is the code I am currently using to retrieve a single page, any insight would be great. try { URL myURL = new URL("http://www.google.com"); URLConnection ucon = myURL.openConnection(); InputStream inputStream = ucon.getInputStream(); BufferedInputStream bufferedInputStream = new BufferedInputStream(inputStream); ByteArrayBuffer byteArrayBuffer = new ByteArrayBuffer(50); int current = 0; while ((current = bufferedInputStream.read()) != -1) { byteArrayBuffer.append((byte) current); } tempString = new String(byteArrayBuffer.toByteArray()); } catch (Exception e) { Log.i("Error",e.toString()); }

  • Setting column width in Table View

    - by Jeremy
    I am having a hard time understanding how to change the width of columns when creating a table view. I know you can set the width in pixels of a column but that is not what I want to do. Say, for instance, I have 2 columns and want each column to take up half the screen. How do I do this without explicitly setting the pixels, so that my code can work on multiple screen sizes?

  • Adding on touch event to images inside gridview

    - by Steve
    I have a gridview where each item has a image and a textview (an app), i added the onItemClick to the gridview in order to launch the app, i also removed the orange selection and made selector in xml so when pressed the text would change to grey and on release it would return to white. My problem is that i need the image to apply an alpha value when pressed and restore the previous alpha on release i tested a lot of ways and none did worked correctly. I came close with the updated answer from the autor of the question: How to set alpha value for drawable in a StateListDrawable?, but some how the state pressed never gets called, i don´t know if this is because i am using the onitemClick to launch the app or not. Also i since i can´t define the alpha on imageview xml i don´t know what else to do Any help will be appreciated

  • I'm getting reports that my app is draining the battery, but only on HTC Incredible.

    - by BenTobin
    Has anyone else noticed behavior specific to the HTC Incredible that might result in an app keeping the device awake and busy? I've received reports that my app is responsible for keeping the device awake and draining the battery, but only from HTC Incredible users. My app responds to a number of Intents that might be related. It has a service that starts on boot, and it also responds to changes in network connectivity. I do use a WakeLock, but I'm careful to release it when I'm done processing, and the WakeLock times out after a couple minutes whether I'm done or not. I've heard that the Incredible may have some connectivity problems, or that some of them do. Could it be that the network is going up and down frequently, triggering my app? Any other ideas? I've asked a user to send me their logs with aLogCat. If they're willing, that may help narrow down the cause.

  • How can I pick multiple images from the built-in picker Intent?

    - by dguardi
    Is it possible to reuse the picker Intent to select multiple pictures instead of one? I haven't found a way and I'm trying to reproduce it with a grid view but my alignment is very poor and my performance is not quite as good as the picker. Intent photoPickerIntent = new Intent(Intent.ACTION_PICK); photoPickerIntent.setType("image/*"); startActivityForResult(photoPickerIntent, REQ_PICKER);

  • how to draw a Bitmap to a Canvas with a variable alpha

    - by steelbytes
    Hi, I'm trying to draw a Bitmap to a Canvas with a variable amount of alpha. But I only get nothing (when alpha<255) or the 'full' bitmap (when alpha==255). Have also tried loading as a Drawable, and using drawable.setAlpha, but that gave the same result. my init BitmapFactory.Options opts = new BitmapFactory.Options(); opts.inScaled = false; opts.inSampleSize = 1; Bitmap img = BitmapFactory.decodeResource(getResources(),R.drawable.sample,opts); my onDraw() Paint p = new Paint(Paint.ANTI_ALIAS_FLAG|Paint.FILTER_BITMAP_FLAG); p.setColor((alpha<<24)+0xffffff); // alpha in range 0..255 canvas.drawBitmap(img, null, imgRect, p);
