  • jQuery Ajax: Copy - Paste thingy

    - by tsiger
Hi everyone, I have a form where a check an input field for its value and then i do an Ajax call using the typewatch plugin ( a small little thing which detects that the user has stopped typing after a predefined interval ). It works great. As this field is a "coupon discount" in an order form, the value could be entered by copy pasting the "coupon code" from an email or something. It also works with Ctrl+C - Ctrl+V for Copy and paste but not when a user selects the text with the mouse, clicks copy from the context menu and then paste from this menu. Is there a way in jQuery to check for this kind of behaviour in jQuery somehow?

  • fHow can I get Opera speed-dial and password management features in other browsers?

    - by Howard Guo
I heavily rely on Opera's speed dial and password management features. Lack of these two features is really stopping me from switching to another web browser such as Chrome or Firefox. Opera's password management has two unique characteristics which I rely on heavily: It saves passwords on all pages, (apparently) despite the page's meta data asking not to save passwords. It offers keyboard shortcut and button to automatically fill in username/passwords and all other fields in a login form, then automatically submit the form. How can I get those functions in other browsers? Thank you!

  • Javascript alert instead of redirect in PHP mail script

    - by JCHASE11
Thanks to Col. Shrapnel I am using a VERY basic PHP script to send emails. The form is located here. This is the script: <?php mail('[email protected]','Live Date Submission',implode("\n\n",$_POST)); header("Location: thankyou.html"); ?> When a user submits the form, they are redirected to a thankyou.html page. I want to edit the code to display a javascript alert, instead of a redirect. I don't have much PHP knowledge, so how would I edit this code to return a alert instead of a redirect?

  • Wizard based feature install in sharepoint 2007?

    - by JL
I have a feature that gets installed using a WSP package, when the feature is activated, I would like the following to happen: The feature will contain a list definition. When the feature gets activated by an end user (the user physically clicks the feature activation button in site features admin) - I would like a modal dialog to appear then ask the user to provide some additional details. 3.1 The additional details will be supplying a certain number of names. For example Mary, John, Peter. Form logistics I can handle. Once the form is complete that information needs to somehow get back to the feature reciever, so that I can then take the base list definition, and use it as a template to create list instances for all the names supplied - so if user had supplied Mary and Peter, then 2 list instances will be created when this feature is activated. Is any of this possible with MOSS 2007? Thank you

  • Is there a Javascript library for editing PDFs?

    - by Fletcher Moore
Based on my Google and stackoverflow search I'm guessing no, but it can't hurt to ask. The goal is: store some blank forms on my server. Then present these to the user, who edits the form in the browser with Javascript and submits the form back to the server. The client wants to reuse parts of an old system (the forms) in which users would download an editable PDF, edit it, and email it back to a secretary. Our users aren't very computer savvy and many don't realize they need to email the forms back, assuming instead the forms somehow get submitted when they save their local changes (or something). I haven't seen the forms yet, so I cannot assess the viability of an alternative.

  • hibernate versioning parent entity

    - by Priit
Consider two entities Parent and Child. Child is part of Parent's transient collection Child has a ManyToOne mapping to parent with FetchType.LAZY Both are displayed on the same form to a user. When user saves the data we first update Parent instance and then Child collection (both using merge). Now comes the tricky part. When user modifies only Child property on the form then hibernate dirty checking does not update Parent instance and thus does not increase optimistic locking version number for that entity. I would like to see situation where only Parent is versioned and every time I call merge for Parent then version is always updated even if actual update is not executed in db.

  • Multiple Post Requests Occuring in Quick Succession

    - by Samuel
This is a bit of an open ended question but we have a problem with a web application that on the final step of completing an order, multiple post requests are being made, sometimes up to 10 and all within a couple of seconds to the page. Theirs nothing unusual about the page, the user fills out a form which is then validated using the jQuery form validation plugin. We've seen this behavior exhibited over a couple of different browser types, notably IE6 but also IE8. We've also managed to trigger the bug ourselves but nothing out of the ordinary seems to occur on the browsers end, everything progresses as normal. Apache logs show that multiple post requests where made at the same time and the Rails logs show that multiple posts requests were also received by the application, leading me to think it's a problem with the browser. I've exhausted all avenues that I can think of for debugging so I'm throwing this out there to see if anyone has some ideas of what we could try or look for next.

  • HTML: Nesting DIVs problem

    - by mawg
    I am coding a form generator. So far, so good, then I decided to give it a real test. I made a form with some nested each holding a few controls. I will post the HTML at the end. If you load it into a browser, it renders, but is obviously wrong. I had previously tested using the W3C validator and things were fine, but that was for non nested. When I validate a form with nested I get errors: Error Line 13, Column 117: document type does not allow element "DIV" here …style="position: absolute; top:88px; left: 256px; width: 145px; height: 21px;"> So, how do I correct that? What do I do with nested FIELDSETs? Here's the complete HTML <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01//EN""http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/strict.dtd"> <html> <head> <title></title> <meta http-equiv="Content-type" content="text/html;charset=UTF-8"> </head> <body> <form action="C:\temp\an_elogger_test.php" method="get"><div class="TGroupBox" id="GroupBox1"> <fieldset style="position: absolute; top:24px; left:24px; width: 449px; height: 473px;"> <legend>GroupBox1</legend> <div class="TPanel" id="Panel1"> <fieldset style="position: absolute; top:64px; left:64px; width: 361px; height: 217px;"> <div class="TComboBox" id="ComboBox1" style="position: absolute; top:88px; left: 256px; width: 145px; height: 21px;"> <select name="ComboBox1"> </select> </div> <div class="TGroupBox" id="GroupBox2"> <fieldset style="position: absolute; top:80px; left:88px; width: 145px; height: 177px;"> <legend>GroupBox2</legend> <div class="TCheckBox" id="CheckBox1" style="position: absolute; top:112px; left: 104px; width: 97px; height: 17px;">CheckBox1<input type="checkbox" name="CheckBox1" value="CheckBox1Checked"></div> <div class="TCheckBox" id="CheckBox2" style="position: absolute; top:152px; left: 112px; width: 97px; height: 17px;">CheckBox2<input type="checkbox" name="CheckBox2" value="CheckBox2Checked"checked="checked"></div> </fieldset> </div> <div class="TRadioGroup" id="RadioGroup2"> <fieldset style="position: absolute; top:128px; left: 264px; width: 145px; height: 137px;"><legend>RadioGroup2</legend> eins: <input type="radio" name="RadioGroup2" value="eins" checked><br> zwei: <input type="radio" name="RadioGroup2" value="zwei"><br> drei: <input type="radio" name="RadioGroup2" value="drei"><br> </fieldset> </div> </fieldset> </div> <div class="TMemo" id="Memo1"><textarea name="Memo1" rows="8" cols="13" style="position: absolute; top:320px; left: 88px; width: 185px; height: 89px;"> </textarea> </div> <div class="TComboBox" id="ComboBox2" style="position: absolute; top:328px; left: 296px; width: 145px; height: 21px;"> <select name="ComboBox2"> <option value="a">a</option> <option value="b">b</option> <option value="c">c</option> <option value="d" selected="selected">d</option> <option value="e">e</option> </select> </div> </fieldset> </div> <div class="TPanel" id="Panel2"> <fieldset style="position: absolute; top:32px; left:520px; width: 425px; height: 449px;"> <div class="TPanel" id="Panel3"> <fieldset style="position: absolute; top:64px; left:552px; width: 345px; height: 185px;"> <div class="TMemo" id="Memo2"><textarea name="Memo2" rows="8" cols="13" style="position: absolute; top:88px; left: 584px; width: 185px; height: 89px;"> You may wish to leave this memo emptyOr perpahaps give instructions aboout what should be written here</textarea> </div> <div class="TEdit" id="Edit1" style="position: absolute; top:200px; left: 600px; width: 121px; height: 21px;"><input type="text" name="Edit1"value="Insert text here"></div> </fieldset> </div> <div class="TGroupBox" id="GroupBox3"> <fieldset style="position: absolute; top:272px; left:552px; width: 345px; height: 185px;"> <legend>GroupBox3</legend> <div class="TPanel" id="Panel4"> <fieldset style="position: absolute; top:304px; left:584px; width: 177px; height: 137px;"> <div class="TRadioGroup" id="RadioGroup1"> <fieldset style="position: absolute; top:312px; left: 600px; width: 97px; height: 105px;"><legend>RadioGroup1</legend> one: <input type="radio" name="RadioGroup1" value="one"><br> two: <input type="radio" name="RadioGroup1" value="two" checked><br> three: <input type="radio" name="RadioGroup1" value="three"><br> </fieldset> </div> </fieldset> </div> <div class="TEdit" id="Edit2" style="position: absolute; top:320px; left: 776px; width: 105px; height: 21px;"><input type="text" name="Edit2"></div> </fieldset> </div> </fieldset> </div> <div align="center" style="margin: auto"><input type="submit" name="submitButton" value="Submit" style="position:absolute;top:522px;"></div> </form> </body> </html>

  • How to log POSTed forms submissions?

    - by justSteve
Back in the ASP classic days when i needed to write out the name/value pairs of forms submitted by POST i thru this loop into the page: on error resume next for each x in Request.Form Response.AppendToLog x & "=" & Request(x) next It threw all the form fields and values into the log just as GETs are. Does IIS7 .net give me any better method? (this is for the dev/testing portion of the project i don't have any concern about the space or cycles used to accomplish this). thx

  • How to transfer a post request in curl into a ruby script?

  • Update Message on ASP.NET ModelPopupExtender

    - by John
Hi, I have a form in a MS AJAX ModalPopup Extender, which is in a UpdatePanel (for async loading). Everything works as expected. There is one thing that I am trying to do but not sure how to do it. On form submission, there is server side validation on top of client side validation. My question is: what is the best way to display validation error messages if any? It would be ideal if the messages could be written to the popup asynchronously so that the popup is still there. If this is not possible, I am thinking of displaying the messages using the JavaScript alert box. Any insight and suggestions are greatly appreciated. John

  • Javascript self contained sandbox events and client side stack

    - by amnon
I'm in the process of moving a JSF heavy web application to a REST and mainly JS module application . I've watched "scalable javascript application architecture" by Nicholas Zakas on yui theater (excellent video) and implemented much of the talk with good success but i have some questions : I found the lecture a little confusing in regards to the relationship between modules and sandboxes , on one had to my understanding modules should not be effected by something happening outside of their sandbox and this is why they publish events via the sandbox (and not via the core as they do access the core for hiding base libary) but each module in the application gets a new sandbox ? , shouldn't the sandbox limit events to the modoules using it ? or should events be published cross page ? e.g. : if i have two editable tables but i want to contain each one in a different sandbox and it's events effect only the modules inside that sandbox something like messabe box per table which is a different module/widget how can i do that with sandbox per module , ofcourse i can prefix the events with the moduleid but that creates coupling that i want to avoid ... and i don't want to package modules toghter as one module per combination as i already have 6-7 modules ? while i can hide the base library for small things like id selector etc.. i would still like to use the base library for module dependencies and resource loading and use something like yui loader or dojo.require so in fact i'm hiding the base library but the modules themself are defined and loaded by the base library ... seems a little strange to me libraries don't return simple js objects but usualy wrap them e.g. : u can do something like $$('.classname').each(.. which cleans the code alot , it makes no sense to wrap the base and then in the module create a dependency for the base library by executing .each but not using those features makes a lot of code written which can be left out ... and implemnting that functionality is very bug prone does anyonen have any experience with building a front side stack of this order ? how easy is it to change a base library and/or have modules from different libraries , using yui datatable but doing form validation with dojo ... ? some what of a combination of 2+4 if u choose to do something like i said and load dojo form validation widgets for inputs via yui loader would that mean dojocore is a module and the form module is dependant on it ? Thanks .

  • Sliding panel in the middle of the page. Z-index given not working

    - by Nehal Rupani
Hi all, I am implementing sliding panel element but problem is when i slide out other div element is floating down. I guess and tried to give z-index to element which i am sliding but it doesn't seems to work. Let me put code for both div. <div class="vrcontrol"> <div class="slide-out-div"> <a class="handle" href="http://link-for-non-js-users.html">Content</a> <h3>Contact me</h3> <p>Thanks for checking out my jQuery plugin, I hope you find this useful. </p> <p>This can be a form to submit feedback, or contact info</p> </div> This is div which i am sliding in and out and beneath is code of effective div. <div class="askform"> <p class="titletext">Ask an Expert Trade Forum</p> <p class="detailtext">WD-40’s leading source for DIY tips and tricks.</p> <span> <form id="askform" name="askform" action="" method="post"> <span class="left"><input name="input" type="text" class="askinputbox"/></span><span class="marginleft"><input type="image" src="images/search_icon.gif" /></span> </form> </span> <div class="followus"> <span class="followtext">Follow us on</span><span class="right"><img src="images/bookmark.jpg" width="121" height="45" alt="Bookmark" /></span> </div> </div> Sliding div is in left portion of the page and effective div is in right portion of the page. I guess something with z-index, positioning element and overflow properties will do something.

  • LDAP "Insufficient Access"

    - by mon4goos
I am trying to create an LDAP filter string. In each LDAP entry there is an attribute called "status" that has many values, some of which are of the regex form "[ab][0-9][1-9]". For example, "a20" or "b81". All other values for the "status" attribute are just alphabetical characters. I only want to let through entries that have a "status" value of the first form. When I construct an LDAP filter such as (status=a*) I get an "Insufficient Access" error. However, if I change the query to (status=a1*) that works fine. Is there any reason for this? If there behavior is unavoidable, can anyone thing of a way to get only the entries I want.

  • How do I unhide a CFDIV that has dynamic content with AJAX binding itself?

    - by Eric Belair
I have the following CFSELECT tags that are used to populate a text input: <cfselect id="this" name="this" bind="cfc:Data.getThis()" bindonload="true" /> <cfselect id="that" name="that" bind="cfc:Data.getThat({p1})" /> <cfselect id="theOther" name="theOther" bind="cfc:Data.getTheOther({p1}, {p2})" /> The text input is the only value that needs to be submitted in a form: <cfform name="addItem" method="post" action="somepage.cfm"> <cfinput type="text" id="item" name="item" bind="cfc:Data.getResult({this}, {that}, {theOther})" /><br /> <cfinput type="submit" name="addButton" value="Add Item" /> </cfform> I want the form and it's contents to be visible only when all three selections have been made, and there is a value for the text input. What is the best way to do this? I'm assuming some use of CFDIV is the best way, but I'm not sure how to load the dynamic content (the CFINPUTs) this way.

  • Symfony2 & Twig - theming file upload widget

    - by Sacred Socks
I have an Symfony2 edit form for an entity and one of the fields is for the user's profile picture. I'm trying to theme the Twig file upload widget so that the current picture set for the field is displayed above the file input. So far, I have: {% form_theme edit_form _self %} {% block field_widget %} {% set type = type|default('text') %} {% if type == 'file' %} <img src="{{ value }}" /> {% endif %} {{ block('form_widget_simple') }} {% endblock %} All works well except that the value variable is blank (which makes sense I guess). My question is how can I get hold of the path to the file? Is there a way to pick it out of the form values for the field? Could I perhaps pass it through as an option to the field? Srz if this is a dumb question, still pretty new to Symfony and Twig..

  • Jquery - How to make $.post() use contentType=application/json?

    - by JK.
I've noticed that when using $.post() in jquery that the default contentType is application/x-www-form-urlencoded - when my asp.net mvc code needs to have contentType=application/json (See this question for why I must use application/json: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2792603/aspnet-mvc-why-is-modelstate-isvalid-false-the-x-field-is-required-when-that) How can I make $.post() send contentType=application/json? I already have a large number of $.post() functions, so I don't want to change to $.ajax() because it would take too much time If I try $.post(url, data, function(), "json") It still has contentType=application/x-www-form-urlencoded. So what exactly does the "json" param do if it does not change the contenttype to json? If I try $.ajaxSetup({ contentType: "application/json; charset=utf-8" }); That works but affects every single $.get and $.post that I have and causes some to break. So is there some way that I can change the behavior of $.post() to send contentType=application/json?

  • YUI Autocomplete: itemSelectEvent getting lost with IE6 and IE7?

    - by Parand
I'm using YUI Autocomplete (latest version loaded using loader as of today (May 14th, 2010), which looks to be 2.8.1, with the following options: ac = new YAHOO.widget.AutoComplete("mynode", "autocomp_node", ac_ds, {typeAhead: true, forceSelection: true}); ac.itemSelectEvent.subscribe( function(type, args) { alert("hey:" + args[2][1]); $('#parent_id').val(args[2][1]); }); The itemSelectEvent catches selections in AutoComplete and fills in some data on the parent. This works on FF, Chrome, Safari, and IE8. On IE6 and IE7, however, the event never seems to trigger. To replicate: In the autocomplete field, allow it to autofill for you, then hit enter. This should select the autofill and move on to the next field (that's what it does in other browsers). With IE6 and IE7 it seems to instead trigger the form submission - the itemSelectEvent never fires (or perhaps fires after the form submission?). Has anyone seen this? Any work-arounds?

    I feel like this might be really simple but I'm just not getting it right, so I have like a settings page in my app and I want each setting to be like a key value store, for example: +-------------------+--------------------------------+ | setting | value | +-------------------+--------------------------------+ | twitter_username | something | +-------------------+--------------------------------+ | facebook_url | http://facebook.com/someguy | +-------------------+--------------------------------+ My form looks something like this: <% form_tag set_admin_settings_path, :method => :put do %> <ol> <% for setting in @settings %> <li class="field"> <label><%= setting.setting_name.humanize %></label> <%= text_field_tag "[setting_value][]", setting.setting_value %> </li> <% end %> <li class="submit"> <%= submit_tag "Update settings" %> </li> </ol> <% end %> Everything renders fine but when I try to save the form, nothing is saved :(
