  • NavigationBar from UINavigationController not positioned correctly

    - by David Liu
    So, my iPad program has a pseudo-split view controller (one that I implemented, not base SDK one), and was working correctly a while ago. It has the basic layout (UINavController for master, content view controller for detail on right), but I have it so the master view doesn't disappear when rotated into portrait view. Recently, I added in a UITabBarController to contain the entire split view, which has made the navigation bar go wonky, while all the other views are positioned fine. In addition, the navigation bar only gets mispositioned when the program starts up while the iPad is in landscape, or upside-down portrait. If it starts out in portrait, everything is fine. Relevant Code: RootViewController.m: - (void)loadView { navController = [[NavigationBreadcrumbsController_Pad alloc] init]; ABTableViewController_Pad * tableViewController = [[ABTableViewController_Pad alloc] initWithNibName:@"ABTableView"]; master = [[UINavigationController_Pad alloc] initWithRootViewController:tableViewController]; [tableViewController release]; // Dummy blank UIViewcontroller detail = [[UIViewController alloc] init]; detail.view = [[[UIView alloc] init] autorelease]; [detail.view setBackgroundColor:[UIColor grayColor]]; self.view = [[[UIView alloc] init] autorelease]; self.view.backgroundColor = [UIColor blackColor]; [self positionViews]; [self.view addSubview:navToolbarController.view]; [self.view addSubview:master.view]; [self.view addSubview:detail.view]; } // Handles the respositioning of view into it's current orientation -(void)positionViews{ CGFloat tabBarOffset = 0; if(self.tabBarController){ tabBarOffset = self.tabBarController.tabBar.frame.size.height; } if(self.interfaceOrientation == UIInterfaceOrientationPortrait || self.interfaceOrientation == UIInterfaceOrientationPortraitUpsideDown) { self.view.frame = CGRectMake(0, 0, 768, 1004); navController.view.frame = CGRectMake(0,0,768,44); //adjust master view [master.view setFrame:CGRectMake(0, 44, 320, 1024 - 44 - 20 - tabBarOffset)]; //adjust detail view [detail.view setFrame:CGRectMake(321,44, 448, 1024 - 44 - 20 - tabBarOffset)]; } // Landscape Layout else{ self.view.frame = CGRectMake(0, 0, 748, 1024); navToolbarController.view.frame = CGRectMake(0,0,1024,44); //adjust master view [master.view setFrame:CGRectMake(0, 44, 320, 768 - 44 - 20 - tabBarOffset)]; //adjust detail view [detail.view setFrame:CGRectMake(321,44, 1024 - 320, 768 - 44 - 20 - tabBarOffset)]; } }

  • merging UIImagePickerController image with cameraOverlayView

    - by GameDev
    Im really in the need for some help and advice. Spent the last week on this and have now just become frustrated as i cant get it to work! Basically, im trying to merge two images into one image to display/save. First the user picks an image from album, it goes to edit image screen where user can move and scale the image. On this screen is an overlay image (320x480) for the person to align there eyes in. Once aligned I want to save this image (edited and overlay) into one and pass the image onto my next screen. It works fine when the image is filling the edit/crop box, but when the image is widescreen with top and bottom not filling the box, then when i save the image the coords of the overlay dont get saved correctly! Heres my code, ive tried various ways of doing this but have failed at every attempt :( - (void) imagePickerController:(UIImagePickerController *)picker didFinishPickingMediaWithInfo:(NSDictionary *)info { // Access the cropped image from info dictionary UIImage *image = [info objectForKey:@"UIImagePickerControllerEditedImage"]; // Combine image with overlay before saving!! image = [self addOverlayToImage:image]; overlayGraphicView.image = nil; // Take the picture image to the post picture view controller postPictureView = [[PostPictureViewController alloc] init:image Company:companyName withLink:buyButtonLink]; [picker pushViewController:postPictureView animated:YES]; [picker release],picker = nil; } The problem is that the image picked (originalImage) could be of any height, my overlayImage is however always 320x480, its almost all transparent with just two eye images in center which i want to save over the original images eyes! - (UIImage*) addOverlayToImage:(UIImage*)originalImage { CGRect cgRect =[[UIScreen mainScreen] bounds]; CGSize size = cgRect.size; UIGraphicsBeginImageContext(size); [originalImage drawInRect:CGRectMake(0, 0, size.width, size.height)]; UIImage* overlayImage = [UIImage imageNamed:overlayGraphicName]; [(UIImage *)overlayImage drawInRect:CGRectMake(0, 0, size.width, size.height)]; UIImage *finalImage = UIGraphicsGetImageFromCurrentImageContext(); [finalImage retain]; UIGraphicsEndImageContext(); return finalImage; } I wish there was just an easy way to take a screenshot of whatever is in the edit crop box :( Please if someone could help me with this ASAP as I need to finish this in 1-2 days time! Thank you. EDIT:- I should also mention that with this I get the correct center of the screen and placement of the overlay on my next screen: [(UIImage *)overlayImage drawInRect:CGRectMake(0, 0, size.width, size.height)]; However, I am unable to work out the correct position of the main image especially as the height is different for every image if not fullscreen! I tried this to center it into the correct position but it doesnt work: [originalImage drawInRect:CGRectMake(0,(size.height/2 - originalImage.size.height/2), originalImage.size.width, originalImage.size.height)];

  • No value given for one or more required parameters in connection initialisation

    - by DarkJaff
    Hi everyone, I have an C# form application that use an access database. This application works perfectly in debug and release. It works on all version of Windows. But it crash on one computer with Windows 7. The message I got is: System.Data.OleDb.OleDbException: No value given for one or more required parameters. The function that is supposely not working is this: public void InitConnection(string strFile) { string strConnection = String.Format("Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;Data Source={0};User Id=admin;Password=;", strFile); m_conn = new OleDbConnection(strConnection); try { //On vérifie si la connexion n'est pas ouverte if (m_conn.State != ConnectionState.Open) { m_conn.Open(); m_VCoeffModele = GetModeleCoeff(); } } catch (Exception err) { throw err; } } I think it's something related to the connection string but why only on that computer. Thanks for your help! • Understanding CLR 2.0 Memory Model

    - by Eloff
    Joe Duffy, gives 6 rules that describe the CLR 2.0+ memory model (it's actual implementation, not any ECMA standard) I'm writing down my attempt at figuring this out, mostly as a way of rubber ducking, but if I make a mistake in my logic, at least someone here will be able to catch it before it causes me grief. Rule 1: Data dependence among loads and stores is never violated. Rule 2: All stores have release semantics, i.e. no load or store may move after one. Rule 3: All volatile loads are acquire, i.e. no load or store may move before one. Rule 4: No loads and stores may ever cross a full-barrier (e.g. Thread.MemoryBarrier, lock acquire, Interlocked.Exchange, Interlocked.CompareExchange, etc.). Rule 5: Loads and stores to the heap may never be introduced. Rule 6: Loads and stores may only be deleted when coalescing adjacent loads and stores from/to the same location. I'm attempting to understand these rules. x = y y = 0 // Cannot move before the previous line according to Rule 1. x = y z = 0 // equates to this sequence of loads and stores before possible re-ordering load y store x load 0 store z Looking at this, it appears that the load 0 can be moved up to before load y, but the stores may not be re-ordered at all. Therefore, if a thread sees z == 0, then it also will see x == y. If y was volatile, then load 0 could not move before load y, otherwise it may. Volatile stores don't seem to have any special properties, no stores can be re-ordered with respect to each other (which is a very strong guarantee!) Full barriers are like a line in the sand which loads and stores can not be moved over. No idea what rule 5 means. I guess rule 6 means if you do: x = y x = z Then it is possible for the CLR to delete both the load to y and the first store to x. x = y z = y // equates to this sequence of loads and stores before possible re-ordering load y store x load y store z // could be re-ordered like this load y load y store x store z // rule 6 applied means this is possible? load y store x // but don't pop y from stack (or first duplicate item on top of stack) store z What if y was volatile? I don't see anything in the rules that prohibits the above optimization from being carried out. This does not violate double-checked locking, because the lock() between the two identical conditions prevents the loads from being moved into adjacent positions, and according to rule 6, that's the only time they can be eliminated. So I think I understand all but rule 5, here. Anyone want to enlighten me (or correct me or add something to any of the above?)

  • Where is the method call in the EXE file?

    - by Victor Hurdugaci
    Introduction After watching this video from LIDNUG, about .NET code protection http://secureteam.net/lidnug_recording/Untitled.swf (especially from 46:30 to 57:30), I would to locate the call to a MessageBox.Show in an EXE I created. The only logic in my "TrialApp.exe" is: public partial class Form1 : Form { public Form1() { InitializeComponent(); } private void Form1_Load(object sender, EventArgs e) { MessageBox.Show("This is trial app"); } } Compiled on the Release configuration: http://rapidshare.com/files/392503054/TrialApp.exe.html What I do to locate the call Run the application in WinDBG and break after the message box appears. Get the CLR stack with !clrstack: 0040e840 5e21350b [InlinedCallFrame: 0040e840] System.Windows.Forms.SafeNativeMethods.MessageBox(System.Runtime.InteropServices.HandleRef, System.String, System.String, Int32) 0040e894 5e21350b System.Windows.Forms.MessageBox.ShowCore(System.Windows.Forms.IWin32Window, System.String, System.String, System.Windows.Forms.MessageBoxButtons, System.Windows.Forms.MessageBoxIcon, System.Windows.Forms.MessageBoxDefaultButton, System.Windows.Forms.MessageBoxOptions, Boolean) 0040e898 002701f0 [InlinedCallFrame: 0040e898] 0040e934 002701f0 TrialApp.Form1.Form1_Load(System.Object, System.EventArgs) Get the MethodDesc structure (using the address of Form1_Load) !ip2md 002701f0 MethodDesc: 001762f8 Method Name: TrialApp.Form1.Form1_Load(System.Object, System.EventArgs) Class: 00171678 MethodTable: 00176354 mdToken: 06000005 Module: 00172e9c IsJitted: yes CodeAddr: 002701d0 Transparency: Critical Source file: D:\temp\TrialApp\TrialApp\Form1.cs @ 22 Dump the IL of this method (by MethodDesc) !dumpil 001762f8 IL_0000: ldstr "This is trial app" IL_0005: call System.Windows.Forms.MessageBox::Show IL_000a: pop IL_000b: ret So, as the video mentioned, the call to to Show is 5 bytes from the beginning of the method implementation. Now I open CFFExplorer (just like in the video) and get the RVA of the Form1_Load method: 00002083. After this, I go to Address Converter (again in CFF Explorer) and navigate to offset 00002083. There we have: 32 72 01 00 00 70 28 16 00 00 0A 26 2A 7A 03 2C 13 02 7B 02 00 00 04 2C 0B 02 7B 02 00 00 04 6F 17 00 00 0A 02 03 28 18 00 00 0A 2A 00 03 30 04 00 67 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 02 28 19 00 00 0A 02 In the video is mentioned that the first 12 bytes are for the method header so I skip them 2A 7A 03 2C 13 02 7B 02 00 00 04 2C 0B 02 7B 02 00 00 04 6F 17 00 00 0A 02 03 28 18 00 00 0A 2A 00 03 30 04 00 67 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 02 28 19 00 00 0A 02 5 bytes from the beginning of the implementation should be the opcode for method call (28). Unfortunately, is not there. 02 7B 02 00 00 04 2C 0B 02 7B 02 00 00 04 6F 17 00 00 0A 02 03 28 18 00 00 0A 2A 00 03 30 04 00 67 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 02 28 19 00 00 0A 02 Questions: What am I doing wrong? Why there is no method call at that position in the file? Or maybe the video is missing some information... Why the guy in that video replaces the call with 9 zeros?

  • Change a UIButton View's background upon press

    - by Michael
    This should be easy but its got me stumped. I've got a button on each row of a table cell. The button is to delete the file associated with that row. I have an image that indicates if the file is present on the iPhone or not present. When the user presses the button, the target action method (showDeleteSheet) then calls a UIActionSheet with a variable to give it the indexPath of the row pressed. Then the user presses delete on the action sheet and the action sheet's clickedButtonAtIndex method deletes the file. Now, I need to update the button's background image property to change the image in the appropriate table cell to the not downloaded image. This can be done in either the button's target action method or the action sheet's clickedButtonAtIndex method. Here is some code: In the table's cellForRowAtIndexPath method I create the button: UIButton *deleteButton = [[UIButton buttonWithType:UIButtonTypeCustom] retain]; [deleteButton addTarget:self action:@selector(showDeleteSheet:) forControlEvents:UIControlEventTouchDown]; deleteButton.frame = CGRectMake(246, 26, 30, 30); if (![AppData isDownloaded:[dets objectForKey:@"fileName"]]) { [deleteButton setBackgroundImage:notdownloadedImage forState:UIControlStateNormal]; } else { [deleteButton setBackgroundImage:notdownloadedImage forState:UIControlStateNormal]; } In the button's target method: -(void)showDeleteSheet:(id)sender { //get the cell row that the button is in NSIndexPath *indexPath = [table indexPathForCell:(UITableViewCell *)[[sender superview] superview]]; NSInteger currentSection = indexPath.section; NSInteger currentIndexRow = indexPath.row; NSLog(@"section = %i row = %i", currentSection, currentIndexRow); UIButton *deleteButton = [UIButton buttonWithType:UIButtonTypeCustom]; [table reloadData]; //if deleteButton is declared in .h then the other instances of deleteButton show 'local declaration hides instance variable' [deleteButton setBackgroundImage:[UIImage imageNamed:@"not-downloaded.png"] forState:UIControlStateNormal]; UIActionSheet *actionSheet = [[UIActionSheet alloc] initWithTitle:@"Delete this file?" delegate:self cancelButtonTitle:@"Cancel" destructiveButtonTitle:@"Delete" otherButtonTitles:nil]; actionSheet.tag = currentIndexRow; actionSheet.actionSheetStyle = UIActionSheetStyleDefault; [actionSheet showInView:self.view]; [actionSheet release]; } Perhaps the issue is that the call to [deleteButton setBackgroundImage...]; doesn't know which cell's button should be updated. If so I don't know how to tell it which. Because I test if the file is downloaded when the button is made and the background image is set, when I scroll down so the cell in question is de-queued then scroll back up it show's the correct image. I've tried to force the table to reload but [table reloadData]; is doing nothing. I've tried reloadRowsAtIndexPaths and still no good. Any one care to educate me on how this is done?

  • NSMutableArray can't be added to

    - by Dan Ray
    I've had this sort of problem before, and it didn't get a satisfactory answer. I have a viewcontroller with a property called "counties" that is an NSMutableArray. I'm going to drill down a navigation screen to a view that is about selecting the counties for a geographical search. So the search page drills down to the "select counties" page. I pass NSMutableArray *counties to the second controller as I push the second one on the navigation stack. I actually set that second controller's "selectedCounties" property (also an NSMutableArray) with a pointer to my first controller's "counties", as you'll see below. When I go to addObject to that, though, I get this: *** Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSInternalInconsistencyException', reason: '*** -[NSCFArray insertObject:atIndex:]: mutating method sent to immutable object' Here's my code: in SearchViewController.h: @interface SearchViewController : UIViewController { .... NSMutableArray *counties; } .... @property (nonatomic, retain) NSMutableArray *counties; in SearchViewController.m: - (void)getLocationsView { [keywordField resignFirstResponder]; SearchLocationsViewController *locationsController = [[SearchLocationsViewController alloc] initWithNibName:@"SearchLocationsView" bundle:nil]; [self.navigationController pushViewController:locationsController animated:YES]; [locationsController setSelectedCounties:self.counties]; [locationsController release]; } in SearchLocationsViewController.h: @interface EventsSearchLocationsViewController : UIViewController <UITableViewDelegate, UITableViewDataSource> { ... NSMutableArray *selectedCounties; } ... @property (nonatomic, retain) NSMutableArray *selectedCounties; in SearchLocationsViewController.m (the point here is, we're toggling each element of a table being active or not in the list of selected counties): -(void)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView didSelectRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath { UITableViewCell *cell = [tableView cellForRowAtIndexPath:indexPath]; if ([self.selectedCounties containsObject:[self.counties objectAtIndex:indexPath.row]]) { //we're deselcting! [self.selectedCounties removeObject:[self.counties objectAtIndex:indexPath.row]]; cell.accessoryView = [[UIImageView alloc] initWithImage:[UIImage imageNamed:@"red_check_inactive.png"]]; } else { [self.selectedCounties addObject:[self.counties objectAtIndex:indexPath.row]]; cell.accessoryView = [[UIImageView alloc] initWithImage:[UIImage imageNamed:@"red_check_active.png"]]; } [tableView deselectRowAtIndexPath:indexPath animated:YES]; } We die at [self.selectedCounties addObject.... there. Now, when I NSLog myself [self.selectedCounties class], it tells me it's an NSCFArray. How does this happen? I understand about class bundles (or I THINK I do anyway), but this is explicitly a specific type, and it's losing it subclassing at some point in a way that kills the whole thing. I just completely don't understand why that would happen.

  • Delphi LoadLibrary Failing to find DLL other directory - any good options?

    - by Chris Thornton
    Two Delphi programs need to load foo.dll, which contains some code that injects a client-auth certificate into a SOAP request. foo.dll resides in c:\fooapp\foo.dll and is normally loaded by c:\fooapp\foo.exe. That works fine. The other program needs the same functionality, but it resides in c:\program files\unwantedstepchild\sadapp.exe. Both aps load the DLL with this code: FOOLib := LoadLibrary('foo.dll'); ... If FOOLib <> 0 then begin FOOProc := GetProcAddress(FOOLib , 'xInjectCert'); FOOProc(myHttpRequest, Data, CertName); end; It works great for foo.exe, as the dll is right there. sadapp.exe fails to load the library, so FOOLib is 0, and the rest never gets called. The sadapp.exe program therefore silently fails to inject the cert, and when we test against production, it the cert is missing, do the connection fails. Obviously, we should have fully-qualified the path to the DLL. Without going into a lot of details, there were aspects of the testing that masked this problem until recently, and now it's basically too late to fix in code, as that would require a full regression test, and there isn't time for that. Since we've painted ourselves into a corner, I need to know if there are any options that I've overlooked. While we can't change the code (for this release), we CAN tweak the installer. I've found that placing c:\fooapp into the path works. As does adding a second copy of foo.dll directly into c:\program files\unwantedstepchild. c:\fooapp\foo.exe will always be running while sadapp.exe is running, so I was hoping that Windows would find it that way, but apparently not. Is there a way to tell Windows that I really want that same DLL? Maybe a manifest or something? This is the sort of "magic bullet" that I'm looking for. I know I can: Modify the windows path, probably in the installer. That's ugly. Add a second copy of the DLL, directly into the unwantedstepchild folder. Also ugly Delay the project while we code and test a proper fix. Unacceptable. Other? Thanks for any guidance, especially with "Other". I understand that this issue is not necessarily specific to Delphi. Thanks!

  • iPhone - database reading method and memory leaks

  • What's the best Scala build system?

    - by gatoatigrado
    I've seen questions about IDE's here -- Which is the best IDE for Scala development? and What is the current state of tooling for Scala?, but I've had mixed experiences with IDEs. Right now, I'm using the Eclipse IDE with the automatic workspace refresh option, and KDE 4's Kate as my text editor. Here are some of the problems I'd like to solve: use my own editor IDEs are really geared at everyone using their components. I like Kate better, but the refresh system is very annoying (it doesn't use inotify, rather, maybe a 10s polling interval). The reason I don't use the built-in text editor is because broken auto-complete functionalities cause the IDE to hang for maybe 10s. rebuild only modified files The Eclipse build system is broken. It doesn't know when to rebuild classes. I find myself almost half of the time going to project-clean. Worse, it seems even after it has finished building my project, a few minutes later it will pop up with some bizarre error (edit - these errors appear to be things that were previously solved with a project clean, but then come back up...). Finally, setting "Preferences / Continue launch if project contains errors" to "prompt" seems to have no effect for Scala projects (i.e. it always launches even if there are errors). build customization I can use the "nightly" release, but I'll want to modify and use my own Scala builds, not the compiler that's built into the IDE's plugin. It would also be nice to pass [e.g.] -Xprint:jvm to the compiler (to print out lowered code). fast compiling Though Eclipse doesn't always build right, it does seem snappy -- even more so than fsc. I looked at Ant and Maven, though haven't employed either yet (I'll also need to spend time solving #3 and #4). I wanted to see if anyone has other suggestions before I spend time getting a suboptimal build system working. Thanks in advance! UPDATE - I'm now using Maven, passing a project as a compiler plugin to it. It seems fast enough; I'm not sure what kind of jar caching Maven does. A current repository for Scala 2.8.0 is available [link]. The archetypes are very cool, and cross-platform support seems very good. However, about compile issues, I'm not sure if fsc is actually fixed, or my project is stable enough (e.g. class names aren't changing) -- running it manually doesn't bother me as much. If you'd like to see an example, feel free to browse the pom.xml files I'm using [github]. UPDATE 2 - from benchmarks I've seen, Daniel Spiewak is right that buildr's faster than Maven (and, if one is doing incremental changes, Maven's 10 second latency gets annoying), so if one can craft a compatible build file, then it's probably worth it...

  • Recursive N-way merge/diff algorithm for directory trees?

    - by BobMcGee
    What algorithms or Java libraries are available to do N-way, recursive diff/merge of directories? I need to be able to generate a list of folder trees that have many identical files, and have subdirectories with many similar files. I want to be able to use 2-way merge operations to quickly remove as much redundancy as possible. Goals: Find pairs of directories that have many similar files between them. Generate short list of directory pairs that can be synchronized with 2-way merge to eliminate duplicates Should operate recursively (there may be nested duplicates of higher-level directories) Run time and storage should be O(n log n) in numbers of directories and files Should be able to use an embedded DB or page to disk for processing more files than fit in memory (100,000+). Optional: generate an ancestry and change-set between folders Optional: sort the merge operations by how many duplicates they can elliminate I know how to use hashes to find duplicate files in roughly O(n) space, but I'm at a loss for how to go from this to finding partially overlapping sets between folders and their children. EDIT: some clarification The tricky part is the difference between "exact same" contents (otherwise hashing file hashes would work) and "similar" (which will not). Basically, I want to feed this algorithm at a set of directories and have it return a set of 2-way merge operations I can perform in order to reduce duplicates as much as possible with as few conflicts possible. It's effectively constructing an ancestry tree showing which folders are derived from each other. The end goal is to let me incorporate a bunch of different folders into one common tree. For example, I may have a folder holding programming projects, and then copy some of its contents to another computer to work on it. Then I might back up and intermediate version to flash drive. Except I may have 8 or 10 different versions, with slightly different organizational structures or folder names. I need to be able to merge them one step at a time, so I can chose how to incorporate changes at each step of the way. This is actually more or less what I intend to do with my utility (bring together a bunch of scattered backups from different points in time). I figure if I can do it right I may as well release it as a small open source util. I think the same tricks might be useful for comparing XML trees though.

  • web.config transforms not being applied on either publish or build installation package

    - by BenA
    Today I started playing with the web.config transforms in VS 2010. To begin with, I attempted the same hello world example that features in a lot of the blog posts on this topic - updating a connection string. I created the minimal example shown below (and similar to the one found in this blog). The problem is that whenever I do a right-click - "Publish", or a right-click - "Build Deployment Package" on the .csproj file, I'm not getting the correct output. Rather than a transformed web.config, I'm getting no web.config, and instead the two transform files are included. What am I doing wrong? Any help gratefully received! Web.config: <?xml version="1.0"?> <configuration xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/.NetConfiguration/v2.0"> <connectionStrings> <add name="ConnectionString" connectionString="server=(local); initial catalog=myDB; user=xxxx;password=xxxx" providerName="System.Data.SqlClient"/> </connectionStrings> </configuration> Web.debug.config: <?xml version="1.0"?> <configuration xmlns:xdt="http://schemas.microsoft.com/XML-Document-Transform"> <connectionStrings> <add name="ConnectionString" connectionString="server=DebugServer; initial catalog=myDB; user=xxxx;password=xxxx" providerName="System.Data.SqlClient" xdt:Transform="SetAttributes" xdt:Locator="Match(name)"/> </connectionStrings> </configuration> Web.release.config: <?xml version="1.0"?> <configuration xmlns:xdt="http://schemas.microsoft.com/XML-Document-Transform"> <connectionStrings> <add name="ConnectionString" connectionString="server=ReleaseServer; initial catalog=myDB; user=xxxx;password=xxxx" providerName="System.Data.SqlClient" xdt:Transform="SetAttributes" xdt:Locator="Match(name)"/> </connectionStrings> </configuration>

  • WiX custom action with DTF... quite confused...

    - by Joshua
    Okay, I have decided the only way I can do what I want to do with WiX (thanks to an old installer I didn't write that I now have to upgrade) is with some CUSTOM ACTIONS. Basically, I need to back up a file before the RemoveExistingProducts and restore that file again after RemoveExistingProducts. I think this is what's called a "type 2 custom action." The sequencing I think I understand, however, what I don't understand is first of all how I pass data to my C# action (the directory the file is in from the WiX) and how to reference my C# (DTF?) action with the Binary and CustomAction tags. Also, does all this need to be in a tag? All the examples show it that way. Here is what I have so far in the .WXS file... <Binary Id="backupSettingsAction.dll" SourceFile="backupSettingsAction.CA.dll"/> <CustomAction Id="BackupSettingsAction" BinaryKey="backupSettingsAction.dll" DllEntry="CustomAction" Execute="immediate" /> <InstallExecuteSequence> <Custom Action="backupSettingsAction.dll" Before="InstallInitialize"/> <RemoveExistingProducts After="InstallFinalize" /> <Custom Action="restoreSettingsAction.dll" After="RemoveExistingFiles"/> </InstallExecuteSequence> The file I need to back up is a settings file from the previous install (which needs to remain intact), it is located in the directory: <Directory Id="CommonAppDataFolder" Name="CommonAppData"> <Directory Id="CommonAppDataPathways" Name="Pathways" /> </Directory> And even has a Component tag for it, though I need to back the file up that exists already: <Component Id="Settings" Guid="A3513208-4F12-4496-B609-197812B4A953" NeverOverwrite="yes" > <File Id="settingsXml" ShortName="SETTINGS.XML" Name="Settings.xml" DiskId="1" Source="\\fileserver\Release\Pathways\Dependencies\Settings\settings.xml" Vital="yes" /> </Component> And this is referencing the C# file that Visual Studio (2005) created for me: namespace backupSettingsAction { public class CustomActions { [CustomAction] public static ActionResult CustomAction1(Session session) { session.Log("backing up settings file"); //do I hardcode the directory and name of the file in here, or can I pass them in? return ActionResult.Success; } } } Any help is greatly apprecaited. Thank you!

  • problem with custom NSProtocol and caching on iPhone

    - by TomSwift
    My iPhone app embeds a UIWebView which loads html via a custom NSProtocol handler I have registered. My problem is that resources referenced in the returned html, which are also loaded via my custom protocol handler, are cached and never reloaded. In particular, my stylesheet is cached: <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="./styles.css" /> The initial request to load the html in the UIWebView looks like this: NSString* strUrl = [NSMutableString stringWithFormat: @"myprotocol:///entry?id=%d", entryID ]; NSURL* url = [NSURL URLWithString: strUrl]; [_pCurrentWebView loadRequest: [NSURLRequest requestWithURL: url cachePolicy: NSURLRequestReloadIgnoringLocalCacheData timeoutInterval: 60 ]]; (note the cache policy is set to ignore, and I've verified this cache policy carries through to subsequent requests for page resources on the initial load) The protocol handler loads the html from a database and returns it to the client using code like this: // create the response record NSURLResponse *response = [[NSURLResponse alloc] initWithURL: [request URL] MIMEType: mimeType expectedContentLength: -1 textEncodingName: textEncodingName]; // get a reference to the client so we can hand off the data id client = [self client]; // turn off caching for this response data [client URLProtocol: self didReceiveResponse:response cacheStoragePolicy: NSURLCacheStorageNotAllowed]; // set the data in the response to our jfif data [client URLProtocol: self didLoadData:data]; [data release]; (Note the response cache policy is "not allowed"). Any ideas how I can make it NOT cache my styles.css resource? I need to be able to dynamically alter the content of this resource on subsequent loads of html that references this file. I thought clearing the shared url cache would work, but it doesnt: [[NSURLCache sharedURLCache] removeAllCachedResponses]; One thing that does work, but it's terribly inefficient, is to dynamically cache-bust the url for the stylesheet by adding a timestamp parameter: <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="./styles.css?ts=1234567890" /> To make this work I have to load my html from the db, search and replace the url for the stylesheet with a cache-busting parameter that changes on each request. I'd rather not do this. My presumption is that there is no problem if I were to load my content via the built-in HTTP protocol. In that case, I'm guessing that the UIWebView looks at any Cache-Control flags in the NSURLHTTPResponse object's http headers and abides by them. Since my NSURLResponseObject has no http headers (it's not http...) then perhaps UIWebView just decides to cached the resource (ignoring the NSURLRequest caching directive?). Ideas???

  • Why is my UIImageView blurred?

    - by Denis M
    I have a really weird problem with UIImageView. I have an image (an RGB png) 45x45 pixels which I add to the view. I can see that image is blurred after added to the view. Here is the same image in the simulator (left) and in Xcode (right): I have custom UIImageView class with this initWithImage code: - (id) initWithImage:(UIImage*) image { self = [super initWithImage:image]; self.frame = CGRectMake(0, 0, 45, 45); self.contentMode = UIViewContentModeScaleAspectFit; self.quantity = 1; if (self) { self.label = [[UITextField alloc]initWithFrame:CGRectMake(0,40,45,25)]; self.label.font = [UIFont systemFontOfSize:16]; self.label.borderStyle = UITextBorderStyleNone; self.label.enabled = TRUE; self.label.userInteractionEnabled = TRUE; self.label.delegate = self; self.label.keyboardType = UIKeyboardTypeNumbersAndPunctuation; self.label.textAlignment = UITextAlignmentCenter; } self.userInteractionEnabled = TRUE; // Prepare 3 buttons: count up, count down, and delete self.deleteButton = [UIButton buttonWithType:UIButtonTypeRoundedRect]; self.deleteButton.hidden = NO; self.deleteButton.userInteractionEnabled = YES; self.deleteButton.titleLabel.font = [UIFont systemFontOfSize:20]; self.deleteButton.titleLabel.textColor = [UIColor redColor]; [self.deleteButton setTitle:@"X" forState:UIControlStateNormal]; [self.deleteButton addTarget:self action:@selector(deleteIcon:) forControlEvents:UIControlEventTouchUpInside]; self.upCountButton = [UIButton buttonWithType:UIButtonTypeRoundedRect]; self.upCountButton.hidden = NO; self.upCountButton.userInteractionEnabled = YES; [self.upCountButton setTitle:@"+" forState:UIControlStateNormal]; [self.upCountButton addTarget:self action:@selector(addQuantity:) forControlEvents:UIControlEventTouchUpInside]; self.downCountButton = [UIButton buttonWithType:UIButtonTypeRoundedRect]; self.downCountButton.hidden = YES; self.downCountButton.userInteractionEnabled = YES; [self.downCountButton setTitle:@"-" forState:UIControlStateNormal]; [self.downCountButton addTarget:self action:@selector(removeQuantity:) forControlEvents:UIControlEventTouchUpInside]; return self; } I create it like this: UIImage *desertIcon = [UIImage imageNamed:@"desert.png"]; IconObj *desertIconView = [[IconObj alloc] initWithImage:desertIcon]; desertIconView.center = CGPointMake(265,VERTICAL_POINT_ICON); desertIconView.type = [IconObj TYPE_DESERT]; [self.view addSubview:desertIconView]; [desertIconView release]; Why would the displayed image be so than the one stored in a file?

  • How to retain the state of a activity that has a GLSurfaceView

    - by user348639
    My problem is our game can switch into menu and setting mode instantly but it will need 4-6 seconds to load texture, init GL render mode eventually I just used 6 simple textures to create 6 sprites in game. Please help me answer two questions: 1. How can I preload our assets in android os to start our game quicker? 2. In order to use a trick to create instance switch between activity, how can I retain my activity with GLSurfaceView state? I order to help you understanding my situation, please read the following code: The game using 3 activities as you can see in following configuration: <application android:label="@string/app_name" android:icon="@drawable/icon" android:allowBackup="true"> <activity android:name=".Menu" android:screenOrientation="portrait" android:theme="@android:style/Theme.NoTitleBar.Fullscreen" android:launchMode="singleTop"> <intent-filter> <action android:name="android.intent.action.MAIN" /> <category android:name="android.intent.category.LAUNCHER" /> </intent-filter> </activity> <activity android:name=".ReTouch" android:screenOrientation="portrait" /> <activity android:name=".Preference" android:screenOrientation="portrait" android:theme="@android:style/Theme.NoTitleBar.Fullscreen" /> </application> My .ReTouch class is a class that extended from RokonActivity (I am using rokon engine for my game), this engine will create a GLSurefaceView to render my game in OpenGL ES You can get RokonAcitivity's source code here: http://code.google.com/p/rokon/source/browse/tags/release/1.1.1/src/com/stickycoding/Rokon/RokonActivity.java public class ReTouch extends RokonActivity { public static final int REPLAY_DELAY_INTERVAL = 1000; private ReTouchGameBoard reTouchGame; and .Menu, .Preference are two normal standard activity in an android application. I am using this method to start and switch between activities: playButton.setOnClickListener(new OnClickListener() { public void onClick(View v) { soundPool.play(soundId, 1, 1, 1, 0, 1); startActivity(new Intent(Menu.this, ReTouch.class)); } }); settingButton.setOnClickListener(new OnClickListener() { public void onClick(View v) { soundPool.play(soundId, 1, 1, 1, 0, 1); startActivity(new Intent(Menu.this, Preference.class)); } }); quitButton.setOnClickListener(new OnClickListener() { public void onClick(View v) { soundPool.play(soundId, 1, 1, 1, 0, 1); finish(); } });

  • XCode sqlite3 - SELECT always return SQLITE_DONE

    - by user573633
    Hi developers.... a noob here asking for help after a day of head-banging.... I am working on an app with sqlite3 database with one database and two tables. I have now come to a step where I want to select from the table with an argument. The code is here: -(NSMutableArray*) getGroupsPeopleWhoseGroupName:(NSString*)gn;{ NSMutableArray *groupedPeopleArray = [[NSMutableArray alloc] init]; const char *sql = "SELECT * FROM Contacts WHERE groupName='?'"; @try { NSArray * paths = NSSearchPathForDirectoriesInDomains(NSDocumentDirectory,NSUserDomainMask, YES); NSString *docsDir = [paths objectAtIndex:0]; NSString *theDBPath = [docsDir stringByAppendingPathComponent:@"ContactBook.sqlite"]; if (!(sqlite3_open([theDBPath UTF8String], &database) == SQLITE_OK)) { NSLog(@"An error opening database."); } sqlite3_stmt *st; NSLog(@"debug004 - sqlite3_stmt success."); if (sqlite3_prepare_v2(database, sql, -1, &st, NULL) != SQLITE_OK) { NSLog(@"Error, failed to prepare statement."); } //DB is ready for accessing, now start getting all the info. while (sqlite3_step(st) == SQLITE_ROW) { MyContacts * aContact = [[MyContacts alloc] init]; //get contactID from DB. aContact.contactID = sqlite3_column_int(st, 0); if (sqlite3_column_text(st, 1) != NULL) { aContact.firstName = [NSString stringWithUTF8String:(char *) sqlite3_column_text(st, 1)]; } else { aContact.firstName = @""; } // here retrieve other columns data .... //store these info retrieved into the newly created array. [groupedPeopleArray addObject:aContact]; [aContact release]; } if(sqlite3_finalize(st) != SQLITE_OK) { NSLog(@"Failed to finalize data statement."); } if (sqlite3_close(database) != SQLITE_OK) { NSLog(@"Failed to close database."); } } @catch (NSException *e) { NSLog(@"An exception occurred: %@", [e reason]); return nil; } return groupedPeopleArray;} MyContacts is the class where I put up all the record variables. My problem is sqlite3_step(st) always return SQLITE_DONE, so that it i can never get myContacts. (i verified this by checking the return value). What am I doing wrong here? Many thanks in advance!

  • iPhone App is leaking memory; Instruments and Clang cannot find the leak

    - by Norbert
    Hi, i've developed an iPhone program which is kind of an image manipulation program: The user get an UIImagePickerController and selects an image. Then the program does some heavy calculating in a new thread (for responsiveness of the application). The thread has, of course, its own autorelease pool. When calculation is done, the seperated thread signals the main thread that the result can be presented. The app creates a new view controller, pushes it onto the navigation controller. In short: UIImagePickerController new thread (autorelease pool) does some heavy calculation with image data signal to main thread that it's done main thread creates view controller and pushes it onto navigation controller view controller presents image result My program works well, but if I dismiss the navigation controller's top view controller by tapping on the back button and repeat the whole process several times, my app crashes. But only on the device! Instruments cannot find any leaks (except for some minor ones which I don't feel responsible for: thread creation, NSCFString; overall about 10 kB). Even Clang static analyzer tells me that my could seems to be all right. I know that the UIImage class can cache images and objects returned from convenience methods get freed only whet their autorelease pool gets drained. But most of the time I work with CGImageRef and I use UIImage' alloc, init & release methods to free memory as soon as possible. Currently, I don't know how to isolate the problem. How would you approach this problem? • drag to pan on an UserControl

    - by Matías
    Hello, I'm trying to build my own "PictureBox like" control adding some functionalities. For example, I want to be able to pan over a big image by simply clicking and dragging with the mouse. The problem seems to be on my OnMouseMove method. If I use the following code I get the drag speed and precision I want, but of course, when I release the mouse button and try to drag again the image is restored to its original position. using System.Drawing; using System.Windows.Forms; namespace Testing { public partial class ScrollablePictureBox : UserControl { private Image image; private bool centerImage; public Image Image { get { return image; } set { image = value; Invalidate(); } } public bool CenterImage { get { return centerImage; } set { centerImage = value; Invalidate(); } } public ScrollablePictureBox() { InitializeComponent(); SetStyle(ControlStyles.AllPaintingInWmPaint | ControlStyles.OptimizedDoubleBuffer, true); Image = null; AutoScroll = true; AutoScrollMinSize = new Size(0, 0); } private Point clickPosition; private Point scrollPosition; protected override void OnMouseDown(MouseEventArgs e) { base.OnMouseDown(e); clickPosition.X = e.X; clickPosition.Y = e.Y; } protected override void OnMouseMove(MouseEventArgs e) { base.OnMouseMove(e); if (e.Button == MouseButtons.Left) { scrollPosition.X = clickPosition.X - e.X; scrollPosition.Y = clickPosition.Y - e.Y; AutoScrollPosition = scrollPosition; } } protected override void OnPaint(PaintEventArgs e) { base.OnPaint(e); e.Graphics.FillRectangle(new Pen(BackColor).Brush, 0, 0, e.ClipRectangle.Width, e.ClipRectangle.Height); if (Image == null) return; int centeredX = AutoScrollPosition.X; int centeredY = AutoScrollPosition.Y; if (CenterImage) { //Something not relevant } AutoScrollMinSize = new Size(Image.Width, Image.Height); e.Graphics.DrawImage(Image, new RectangleF(centeredX, centeredY, Image.Width, Image.Height)); } } } But if I modify my OnMouseMove method to look like this: protected override void OnMouseMove(MouseEventArgs e) { base.OnMouseMove(e); if (e.Button == MouseButtons.Left) { scrollPosition.X += clickPosition.X - e.X; scrollPosition.Y += clickPosition.Y - e.Y; AutoScrollPosition = scrollPosition; } } ... you will see that the dragging is not smooth as before, and sometimes behaves weird (like with lag or something). What am I doing wrong? I've also tried removing all "base" calls on a desperate movement to solve this issue, haha, but again, it didn't work. Thanks for your time.

  • Hotfixing Code running inside Web Container with Groovy

    - by raoulsson
    I have a webapp running that has a bug. I know how to fix it in the sources. However I cannot redeploy the app as I would have to take it offline to do so. (At least not right now). I now want to fix the code "at runtime". Surgery on the living object, so to speak. The app is implemented in Java and is build on top of Seam. I have added a Groovy Console to the app previous to the last release. (A way to run arbitrary code at runtime) The normal way of adding behaviour to a class with Groovy would be similar to this: String.metaClass.foo= { x -> x * x } println "anything".foo(3) This code added the method foo to java.lang.String and prints 9. I can do the same thing with classes running inside my webapp container. New instances will thereafter show the same behaviour: com.my.package.SomeService.metaClass.foo= { x -> x * x } def someService = new com.my.package.SomeService() println someService.foo(3) Works as excpected. All good so far. My problem is now that the container, the web framework, Seam in this case, has already instantiated and cached the classes that I would like to manipulate (that is change their behaviour to reflect my bug fix). Ideally this code would work: com.my.package.SomeService.metaClass.foo= { x -> x * x } def x = org.jboss.seam.Component.getInstance(com.my.package.SomeService) println x.foo(3) However the instantiation of SomeService has already happened and there is no effect. Thus I need a way to make my changes "sticky". Has the groovy magic gone after my script has been run? Well, after logging out and in again, I can run this piece of code and get the expected result: def someService = new com.my.package.SomeService() println someService.foo(3) So the foo method is still around and it looks like my change has been permanent... So I guess the question that remains is how to force Seam to re-instantiate all its components and/or how to permanently make the change on all living instances...?

  • JPA Entity Manager resource handling

    - by chiragshahkapadia
    Every time I call JPA method its creating entity and binding query. My persistence properties are: <property name="hibernate.dialect" value="org.hibernate.dialect.Oracle10gDialect"/> <property name="hibernate.cache.provider_class" value="net.sf.ehcache.hibernate.SingletonEhCacheProvider"/> <property name="hibernate.cache.use_second_level_cache" value="true"/> <property name="hibernate.cache.use_query_cache" value="true"/> And I am creating entity manager the way shown below: emf = Persistence.createEntityManagerFactory("pu"); em = emf.createEntityManager(); em = Persistence.createEntityManagerFactory("pu").createEntityManager(); Is there any nice way to manage entity manager resource instead create new every time or any property can set in persistence. • Iphone UIButton not working in nested UIViews

    - by Charles Peterson
    This is so damn simple im sure! Im missing something and im exhausted from trying to fix it. hopefully someone can help. The Button in CharacterView.m works but the button nested down in CharacterMale.m does not. I'm not using IB everything is done progmatically. What would cause one button to work and other not? ///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// CharacterController.m ///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// #import "CharacterController.h" #import "CharacterView.h" @implementation CharacterController - (id)init { NSLog(@"CharacterController init"); self = [ super init ]; if (self != nil) { } return self; } - (void)loadView { [ super loadView ]; characterView = [ [ CharacterView alloc ] init]; self.view = characterView; } - (void)didReceiveMemoryWarning { [super didReceiveMemoryWarning]; } - (void)dealloc { [super dealloc]; } @end ///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// CharacterView.m ///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// #import "CharacterView.h" #import "CharacterMale.h" @implementation CharacterView - (id)initWithFrame:(CGRect)frame { if (self = [super initWithFrame:frame]) { characterMale = [ [ CharacterMale alloc ] init]; [self addSubview: characterMale]; UIButton *button = [UIButton buttonWithType:UIButtonTypeCustom]; button.frame = CGRectMake(0, 200, 200, 100); [button setImage:[UIImage imageNamed:@"btnCharSelect.png"] forState:UIControlStateNormal]; [button addTarget:self action:@selector(ApplyImage:) forControlEvents:UIControlEventTouchUpInside]; [ self addSubview: button ]; } return self; } - (void)drawRect:(CGRect)rect { } -(void)ApplyImage:(id)sender { NSLog(@"CharacterView button works"); } - (void)dealloc { [super dealloc]; } @end ///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// CharacterMale.m ///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// #import "CharacterMale.h" #import "CharacterController.h" @implementation CharacterMale - (id)init { self = [ super init]; if (self != nil) { UIImage *image = [UIImage imageNamed:@"charMale.png"]; imageView = [[ UIImageView alloc] initWithImage:image]; [image release]; [ self addSubview: imageView ]; UIButton *button = [UIButton buttonWithType:UIButtonTypeCustom]; button.frame = CGRectMake(0, 0, 200, 100); [button setImage:[UIImage imageNamed:@"btnCharSelect.png"] forState:UIControlStateNormal]; [button addTarget:self action:@selector(ApplyImage:) forControlEvents:UIControlEventTouchUpInside]; [ self addSubview: button ]; } return self; } -(void)ApplyImage:(id)sender { NSLog(@"CharacterMal button works"); } - (void)dealloc { [super dealloc]; } @end

  • Why is my Interface Builder wiring so bonkers and what can I do to straighten it out?

    - by editor
    I've been working on an iPhone application in XCode and Interface Builder of the Tab Bar project type. After getting a table view of topics (business sectors) working fine I realized that I would need to add a Navigation Control to allow the user to drill into a subtopics (subsectors) table. As a green Objective-C developer, that was confusing, but I managed to get it working by reading various documentation trying out a few different IB options. My current setup is a Tab Bar Controller with Tab 1 as a Navigation Controller and Tab 2 a plain view with a Table View placed into it. The wiring works: I can log when table rows are selected and I'm ready to push a new View Controller onto the stack so that I can display the subtopics Table View. My problem: For some reason the first tab's Table View is a delegate and dataSource of the second ta. It doesn't make sense to me and I can't figure out why that's the only setup that works. Here is the wiring: Navigation Controller (Sectors) is a delegate of Tab Bar Navigation Bar is a delegate of Navigation Controller (Sectors) View Contoller (Sectors) has a view of Table View Table View (in Navigation Controller (Sectors)) is a delegate of First View Controller (Companies) Table View (in Navigation Controller (Sectors)) is a dataSource outlet of First View Controller (Companies) First View Controller (Companies) First View Contoller (Sectors) has a view of Table View Table View (in First View Controller (Companies)) is not hooked up to a dataSource outlet and is not a delegate When I click the tab buttons and look at the Inspector I see that the first tab is correctly hooked up to my MainWindow.xib and the second tab has selected a nib called SecondView.xib. It's in the File's Owner of MainWindow.xib where I inherit UITableViewDataSource and UITableViewDelegate (and also UITabBarControllerDelegate) in the .h, and in the .m where I implement the delegate methods. Why does this setup only work when the Table View in my first tab (View Controller (Sectors)) is a delegate and dataSource of the second tab? I'm confused: why wouldn't it need to be hooked up to the Navigation Controller-enabled tab in which the Table View is seen (Navigation Controller (Sectors))? The Table View seen on the second tab has neither dataSource and is not a delegate. I'm having trouble getting a pushViewController to fire (self.navigationController is not nil but the new View Controller still doesn't load) and I suspect that I need to work out this IB wiring issue before I can troubleshoot why the Nav Controller won't push a new View Controller onto the stack. if(nil == self.navigationController) { NSLog(@"self.navigationController is nil."); } else { NSLog(@"self.navigationController is not nil."); SectorList *subsectorViewController = [[SectorList alloc] initWithNibName:@"SectorList" bundle:nil]; subsectorViewController.title = @"Subsectors"; [[self navigationController] pushViewController:subsectorViewController animated:YES]; [subsectorViewController release]; }

  • Please help with iPhone Memory & Images, memory usage crashing app

    - by Andrew Gray
    I have an issue with memory usage relating to images and I've searched the docs and watched the videos from cs193p and the iphone dev site on memory mgmt and performance. I've searched online and posted on forums, but I still can't figure it out. The app uses core data and simply lets the user associate text with a picture and stores the list of items in a table view that lets you add and delete items. Clicking on a row shows the image and related text. that's it. Everything runs fine on the simulator and on the device as well. I ran the analyzer and it looked good, so i then starting looking at performance. I ran leaks and everything looked good. My issue is when running Object Allocations as every time i select a row and the view with the image is shown, the live bytes jumps up a few MB and never goes down and my app eventually crashes due to memory usage. Sorting the live bytes column, i see 2 2.72MB mallocs (5.45Mb total), 14 CFDatas (3.58MB total), 1 2.74MB malloc and everything else is real small. the problem is all the related info in instruments is really technical and all the problem solving examples i've seen are just missing a release and nothing complicated. Instruments shows Core Data as the responsible library for all but one (libsqlite3.dylib the other) with [NSSQLCore _prepareResultsFromResultSet:usingFetchPlan:withMatchingRows:] as the caller for all but one (fetchResultSetReallocCurrentRow the other) and im just not sure how to track down what the problem is. i've looked at the stack traces and opened the last instance of my code and found 2 culprits (below). I havent been able to get any responses at all on this, so if anyone has any tips or pointers, I'd really appreciate it!!!! //this is from view controller that shows the title and image - (void)viewWillAppear:(BOOL)animated { [super viewWillAppear:animated]; self.title = item.title; self.itemTitleTextField.text = item.title; if ([item.notes length] == 0) { self.itemNotesTextView.hidden = YES; } else { self.itemNotesTextView.text = item.notes; } //this is the line instruments points to UIImage *image = item.photo.image; itemPhoto.image = image; } - (void)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView commitEditingStyle:(UITableViewCellEditingStyle)editingStyle forRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath { if (editingStyle == UITableViewCellEditingStyleDelete) { // Delete the managed object for the given index path NSManagedObjectContext *context = [fetchedResultsController managedObjectContext]; [context deleteObject:[fetchedResultsController objectAtIndexPath:indexPath]]; // Save the context. NSError *error = nil; if (![context save:&error]) //this is the line instruments points to { NSLog(@"Unresolved error %@, %@", error, [error userInfo]); exit(-1); } } }
