  Hi, What's the best way to store a formatted html page with CSS on to MYSQL database? Is it possible? What the column type should be? How to retrieve the stored formatted HTML and display it correctly using PHP?   Hi, I'm interested in web development and by that I mean the bigger projects like facebook or twitter. I know the basics of java, css, php and mysql. I know there is a lot more out there. I read about it. But I don't know what the purpose is and how to put in place. Things like: Scribe, thrift, casandra, Unix/Linux, shell/perl/python scripting, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, non-relational NoSQL datastores, JVM, nginx I want to know why they need it, how they use it and what te purpose is. What I need is a book like technical background of facebook for dummies or so. Are there any books or websites that explain this from scratch? Thank you!

  Is there any Python library that allows me to parse an HTML document similar to what jQuery does? i.e. I'd like to be able to use CSS selector syntax to grab an arbitrary set of nodes from the document, read their content/attributes, etc. The only Python HTML parsing lib I've used before was BeautifulSoup, and even though it's fine I keep thinking it would be faster to do my parsing if I had jQuery syntax available. :D Write an iterative program that finds the largest number of McNuggets that cannot be bought in exact quantity. I would like to have a style defined if a cookie is present. • Very long tree control inside a <frame>

  I have an tree control inside of a frame. It's quite tall, around 2000 pixels. Right now, we use the frame's scroll bars, which is mostly good. Unfortunately, when you select an item near the bottom of the list, the page reloads and the view goes back to the top of the list. I tried calling the tree control's ScrollNodeIntoView() function, but since we're not using the tree's scroll bars, it just thinks that it's displaying the full 2000 pixels and the control doesn't have its own scroll bar. I'm not much of an HTML guru, so I have two ideas, neither of which I know how to do. 1) Tell the frame to not to let the tree render all 2000 pixels and instead stay inside the viewable area. 2) Tell the tree to not render all 2000 pixels and instead stay within the viewable area. Setting the CSS height property on the within the frame doesn't do anything. Thanks.

However as the nested divs appear on top it doesn't quite work that way. How can I hide the mouse cursor when hovering over any of the divs within #container. I have currently got the JavaScript/HTML5 Geolocation picking up my current location and showing me it on a Google Map using Lat & Long values. I also want to add these Lat & Long Values into the 'address' text field on the page so I can submit the details. • Developing web app, question for mobile developers

  I'm going to develop a web app that I expect some people will also end up wanting to view on their phones. The UI will be fairly straightforward (no frames, just CSS/HTML). May have a bit of Flash, but not for the first version. My question is, for testing viewing of the web app on mobile devices what devices would you recommend that I test on (and thus, most likely, have to purchase)? Windows Mobile iPhone Android Other? or can I use emulators for any/all of these? Note that I'm not developing a platform (android, iPhone) specific app, just a web application that I expect will also be accessed from a mobile phone. I apologise if this seems like a niave/stupid question, but this hobby project is totally away from my commercial experience and I just don't know the answers to these questions, hence asking here. • SVN Export in Eclipse removes labels on tabs

  I have a very strange effect when using subclipse with eclipse. Whenever I use Team-Export to export a file from the editor the export works fine, but the label of the tab of the file is removed. Effect can be seen here: http://www.daspferd.de/img/tabs.png Strangely enough it happens with php-files, css-files, html-files but NOT with javascript-files. So I'm assuming it's some kind of setting that I haven't found yet and not a bug in subclipse. Anyone know where I can shut down this behaviour?

• Drupal rendering incomplete views

  I got tapped to do some quick maintenance on a recently migrated Drupal site. I'm pretty new to Drupal, so hopefully the problem is something that more experienced guys will figure out quick. Behavior is as follows. The public content works fine as far as I can tell. When I go to login, the login form renders correctly, but when I post the form w/ my credentials, I get back a blank page (not a 404; looks like a 200 to the /user URL, but all the gets rendered is empty Head and body tags). If i refresh the page, I get the content of my profile view, but none of the site chrome or CSS. Note that this is not an issue on the site it was migrated from, so it seems like something wasn't copied over correctly. The site's not public, so I can't provide a URL, sorry!

• Iframe problem with IE6 & IE7

  Hi all, I'm experiencing difficulties getting my iframe to display correctly in IE6 & IE7. www.e-g-t.nl I think IE has the height of the iframe stretched to far beyond the 400px height I set it to be, and the content is vertically centered. I'm not an expert at css or html for that matter and don't seem to get it right. In IE8 though, the problem doesn't seem to exist. Any help on this is much appreciated!

  simple really.. I am have been asked to do a mobile site (straight html + css (+ maybe jquery mobile later on)). The site will need to support the new type smart phone and the old type Nokia/(Symbian OS) with the web browser. Doubts and reservations aside as to anyone without a smart phone would bother visiting this site it still needs to support it. My first question is do older phones support PNG images and transparancey... But this has led me to a much broader question of what are some of the limitations of developing for older phone platforms is there anything that has caught mobile web devs out and had them scratching their head for an afternoon.. what are the limitations of mobile phones?

  Hello, I am searching for a rails-based CMS that provide rich text editing feature (e.g. I need an interface very similar to that of Wordpress where you can easily style up your static pages and upload pictures without knowing any css or html) AND easy to be dropped into an existing rails application. Camtose, RadiantCMS and few other ones did not seem to offer the rich interface I was looking for. RefineryCMS had conflict with my existing user authentication and I did not really find a solution to it. I am just wondering if there are any rails based cms that can meet my needs. • Safari on the iPhone & iPad gives colour feedback on touch, I want to stop this.

  Clicking on an element which has a Javascript handler makes the element go have a 'grey overlay'. This is normally fine but I'm using event delegation to handle the touchdown events of many child elements. Because of the delegation the 'grey overlay' is appearing over the parent element and looks bad and confusing. I could attach event handlers to the individual elements to avoid the problem but this would be computationally very wasteful. I'd rather have some webkit css property that I can override to turn it off. I already have visual feedback in my app so the 'grey overlay' is not needed. Any ideas?

It works great in chrome, but in firefox, the variable scrollfactor, that is suppose to get the current scroll-position, doesn't update. ps, some people have this issue due to lack of correct doctype. I'd like to change the border of the fieldset if the contents have been changed. • What are the likely main reasons my website is very slow on IE?

  Hi, I need to know what can be the main reasons (apart from the basics like grouping CSS selectors, reducing image size, using image sprite etc.) which makes a website slow on Internet Explorer, because my website works fine on the others like FF, chrome etc. Is it the huge use of Javascript framework (ie. jQuery, extjs, prototype)? Is it because of the use of plugins based on JS framework? Should I use core javascript and remove the use of any js framework? Should I try to avoid using jQuery(document).ready()? in case of jQuery framework? Above some of the questions which I know and please answer the questions which I couldn't ask because of lesser knowledge about these.
