    I have a table in a fieldset that is not displayed properly (overflow) because of a long file name that I cannot wrap.     Im trying to implement the search feature in my website. when the search keyword is entered in the textbox, and the category combo is selected, the form will be Posted and the result will be shown on the same page. what i want is to keep the selected category of the combo by default in the form after posted For eg., If i select the category 'Automobiles' in the combo and click search, after form submit, the combo should show the automobiles as default selected option.   • Format table header

    I have a table with slanted text in the header row, the only problem is that the text still makes the width of the columns way to large. Is there any way to squish together the table columns so that they are about the width of the select boxes? Or is there a way to place the text there without it in the header and maybe just use a <div> or <p>?     I had multiple div with class name blueflip i want to toggle this class's div content when the div link_button is clicked. My Code : $(document).ready(function(){ $('.blueflip').hide(); $('.link_button').click(function() { $('.blueflip').toggle(400); return false; }); }); It works fine. But my problem is, my page has multiple link_button and blueflip div's all over the page. when i click any one of link_button all of the blueflip div's are toggling. But i need to toggle the corresponding child blueflip div only Note : The divs are dynamically generated from database. How to achieve that, Plz help. Any suggestion will be highly appreciated

  • Maximizing the current window in javascript

    Is there a way I can maximize a currently minimized window from Javascript? Here's my situation: I have a series of links that all target the same external window (e.g. "MyNewWindow"). When I click a link, a new window pops up. If I click another link, the page pops up in the same window as expected. If I minimize the "MyNewWindow" popup, I'd like to be able to click another link and have that window maximize. My approach was to put something on the onLoad part of the body so that when the page is refreshed it will automatically "maximize" if it is minimized. Note: Using window.MoveTo() and window.resizeTo() doesnt seem to do the trick (the window stays minimized). Thanks!

    Hi Folks, Is there a tool out there to measure the actual Render time of an element(s) on a page? I don't mean download time of the resources, but the actual time the browser took to render something. I know that this time would vary based on factors on the client machine, but would still be very handy in knowing what the rendering engine takes a while to load. I would imagine this should be a useful utility since web apps are becoming pretty client heavy now. Any thoughts?

  • Can't make HREF change based on PHP value

    I want to retrieve the user's location and then show a link that points to an URL that changes according to that location. I just want to place the user's city name at the end of the HREF. I need this work on my wordpress site, on a static page. I use a plugin called Exec-php which let's me run PHP in pages. I have a plugin that provides me the user's city through the shortcode "[mmjs-city]". I tried to make it work through different paths but I never get the link to work. Here I tried assigning that shortcode to a value, <?php $city= "[mmjs-city]"; echo $city; echo "<a href='?s=" . $city ."'>Search for your city</a>"; ?> I added the first two lines to check whether the shortcode is working or not and if it's correctly assinged to the value $city. That part works. Then it creates the link and put's the value $city at the end of it. But when trying it instead of taking me to: /?s=new+york It takes me to: /?s=%3Cscript%20language=%22javascript%22%3Edocument.write(geoip_city());%3C/script%3E I have no idea what to do. I would be really thankful for any info on how to make it work, it's really an important feature for my site. Please ask for any further info or idk anything. The website provides a live stream, and I'd like to be able to prompt viewers to select an answer during a vote initiated by the caster. I can understand how to store the data in a mySQL database, and how to process the answers. However: How would I initially start the vote on the client-side and display it? Should a script be running every few seconds on the page, checking another page to see if a question is available for the user? Are there any existing examples of a real-time polling system such as what I'm looking at implementing?

    I have been trying to find if a file_exist in the directory. If not i want to use a different image. But as i am using the file_exists function it always returns false. The code i used is while($r=mysql_fetch_row($res)) { if(!file_exists('http://localhost/dropbox/lib/admin/'.$r[5])) { $file='http://localhost/dropbox/lib/admin/images/noimage.gif'; } else $file='http://localhost/dropbox/lib/admin/'.$r[5];} But the function always return false even if the file exits. I checked that by using <img src="<?php echo 'http://localhost/dropbox/lib/admin/'.$r[5]; ?>" /> This displayed the image correctly. Please Someone Help Me
