  • Avoid richfaces to send back javascript libraries in the ajax responses

    I'm using JSF 1.2 with Richfaces, and for every ajax request, the server is sending back the response, whichi is good, but it also contains all the links to the javascript files. I want to improve the performance so I just want the <body> to be returned, because all the javascript files are already loaded in the browser when the user logs in (my app is not restful). How can i do that?     In my Android app I am sharing one httpclient for all activities/threads. All requests are made by callling getHttpClient().execute(httpget) or getHttpClient().execute(httppost). Is this implementation complete/correct and safe for multiple threads?     I have wsdl from third party server. Method that i'm interested in returns XmlNode. My thought was wrap web methods and use XmlSerializer to return strongly typed objects. Returned xml looks like this (i removed soap headers): <Response xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:type="ResponseExt" xmlns="http://www.thirdparty.com/lr/"> <Code>0</Code> <Message>SUCCESS</Message> <SessionId>session_token</SessionId> </Response> Looked simple. Created a class: [XmlRoot("Response")] public class MyClass { public string Code {get; set;} public string Message {get; set;} public string SessionId {get; set;} } Processing time: //XmlNode node = xml from above XmlSerializer serializer = new XmlSerializer(typeof(MyClass)); XmlNodeReader reader = new XmlNodeReader(node); Myclass myclass = serializer.Deserialize(reader) as MyClass Last line is where it blows up with inner exception message: The specified type was not recognized: name='ResponseExt', namespace='http://www.thirdparty.com/lr/', at . I can't figure out how to make Serializer happy and what exactly these two mean xsi:type="ResponseExt" xmlns="http://www.thirdparty.com/lr/ As always any advice and pointer are appreciated

    Hello! I'm having trouble creating a non-persistent cookie using the FormsAuthenticationTicket. I want to store userdata in the ticket, so i can't use FormsAuthentication.SetAuthCookie() or FormsAuthentication.GetAuthCookie() methods. Because of this I need to create the FormsAuthenticationTicket and store it in a HttpCookie. My code looks like this: DateTime expiration = DateTime.Now.AddDays(7); // Create ticket FormsAuthenticationTicket ticket = new FormsAuthenticationTicket(2, user.Email, DateTime.Now, expiration, isPersistent, userData, FormsAuthentication.FormsCookiePath); // Create cookie HttpCookie cookie = new HttpCookie(FormsAuthentication.FormsCookieName, FormsAuthentication.Encrypt(ticket)); cookie.Path = FormsAuthentication.FormsCookiePath; if (isPersistent) cookie.Expires = expiration; // Add cookie to response HttpContext.Current.Response.Cookies.Add(cookie); When the variable isPersistent is true everything works fine and the cookie is persisted. But when isPersistent is false the cookie seems to be persisted anyway. I sign on in a browser window, closes it and opens the browser again and I am still logged in. How do i set the cookie to be non-persistent? Is a non-persistent cookie the same as a session cookie? Is the cookie information stored in the sessiondata on the server or are the cookie transferred in every request/response to the server? Thanks in advance! /Marcus

    Hi, I am using Spring MVC on the server side, but in one of the pages I decided to create an AJAX validation with jQuery rather than the default Spring validation. Everything works great, except when I have to do a remote validation to check if a "title" already exists.     I am trying to support UTF-8 characters in my ANT script. As long as the character string are made up of 2-byte UTF-8 characters, such as: Lògìñ Ùsèr ÌÐ Then things work fine. When I use Unicode Han Character: ? Which, according to this site: http://www.fileformat.info/info/unicode/char/6211/index.htm Has a UTF-8 encoding of 0xE6 0x88 0x91 I can see in UltraEdit, my input properties file has the values "E6 88 91" all in a row, so I'm fairly confident that my input is correct. And When I open the same file in Notepad++ I can see all the characters correctly.     So, Here is the scenario I am trying to fix. A returning user is logged into facebook but not logged into the application. In this case when the user tries to load the application, since the user cookie is not attained yet, it redirects the user to the login page. I googled around and found this solution, FB.Event.subscribe('auth.sessionChange', function(response) { if (response.session) { window.location.reload(); } } basically whats happening here is, we are registering to facebook for a login/logout event and when it receives a response, we reload the page. Now its loads the right page since we have the user cookie on our site domain after the first load. this works, but the problem is the double load. It takes a lot of time. How can I attain the user cookie on server side for returning user? so that I don't have to do the initial page reload. Also, I have looked at yelp, and somehow they are able to load the user information without doing double load, does any body know they are able to do it? Any help is greatly appreciated, Thanks!

  • jQuery AJAX request (Rails 3) gets redirected and returns empty message body (only with SSL)!

    I'm trying to do a manual jQuery AJAX request the following way: $("#user_plan_id").change(function() { $("#plan_container").load('/plans/' + this.value); }); I have the "rails.js" file included in my header, and a "<%= csrf_meta_tag %". I see from my log that the request IS getting to the server (although without the authenticity token... does rails.js even do this?), but the response is a 302 (Found) rather than 200, and no data actually gets rendered. Any ideas? Edit: I now see that the first request redirects, and the proper partial gets rendered on the redirect. However, the 2nd response's body (on the client-side) is still empty. I'm guessing jQuery uses the first response and doesn't have a listener set up for the redirect. How do I get around this? Also, another note: the page doing the requesting is an HTTPS page.     I am posting some data to a server using DefaultHttpClient class and in the response stream I am getting a HTML file. I save the stream as a string and pass it onto another activity which contains a WebView to render this HTML on the screen: response = httpClient.execute(get); InputStream is = response.getEntity().getContent(); BufferedReader br = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(is,"utf-8")); StringBuffer sb = new StringBuffer(); String line; while((line=br.readLine())!=null){ sb.append(line); sb.append("\n"); } is.close(); Intent intent = new Intent(this,Trial.class); intent.putExtra("trial",sb.toString()); startActivity(intent); Log.i("SB",sb.toString()); In Second Activity, the code to load the WebView reads: WebView browser = ((WebView)findViewById(R.id.trial_web)); browser.getSettings().setJavaScriptEnabled(true); browser.loadData(html,"text/html", "utf-8"); When I run this code, the WebView is not able to render the HTML content properly. It actually shows the HTML string in URL encoded format on the screen. Interestingly, If I copy the Loggers output to HTML file and then load this HTML in my WebView(using webview.loadurl(file:///assets/xyz.html)) everything works fine. I suspect some problem with character encoding. What is going wrong here? Please help. Thanks.

Does anyone know what I can do to fix this? I saw this similar question but there are no answers.

    Hi, I have a situation where ideally I want to be able to log-in to a secure area using a Java application. I would like to make an HTTP request and check the response to see if I need to do some kind of authenication before I can actually get the response expected, instead of effectively some login page. The complication is that the server that responds will not always be the same - the user of the Java app specifies the URL - and the server may be using some kind of single sign on authentication or the web container's. I don't know the field names for the username and password fields or the action of the form, is there a simple way to obtain this kind of information from the URL? I see the URLConnection object has methods getPermission() which has a method getActions() but are not suitable, anything that might be? I guess example things I am looking to determine: Does the response require authentication? If so; what type / which servlet? e.g. j_security_check, josso single sign on, ... And then some way of authenticating the client And finally managing the state of the authenticated user for other requests Do I need to know the attributes of the login form before attemping to login? And then, is the onoly way of verifying permission to the requested resource to manually manage the cookies? Thanks in advance.

  • Setting httponly in JSESSIONID cookie (Java EE 5)

    I'm trying to set the httponly flag on the JSESSIONID cookie. I'm working in Java EE 5, however, and can't use setHttpOnly(). First I tried to create my own JSESSIONID cookie from within the servlet's doPost() by using response.setHeader(). When that didn't work, I tried response.addHeader(). That didn't work either. Then, I learned that the servlet handled converting the session into a JSESSIONID cookie and inserting it into the http header so if I want to play with that cookie, I'll have to write a filter. I wrote a filter and played with setHeader()/addHeader() there, again to no avail. Then, I learned that there's some flush/close action going on in the response object before it gets to the filter so if I want to manipulate the data, I need to extend HttpServletResponseWrapper and pass that to filterChain.doFilter(). This is done but I'm still not getting results. Clearly I'm doing something wrong but I don't know what. I'm not sure if this is at all relevant to the question at hand but no html document is being returned by the servlet to the browser. All that's really happening is that some objects are being populated and returned to a JSP document. I've sort of assumed that The Session object is turned into a JSESSIONID cookie and wrapped -- along with the objects added to the request -- in an http header before being sent to the browser. I'd be happy to post some code but I want to rule out the possibility that my difficulties stem from a misunderstanding of the theory first.

    I'm trying to answer the following question out of personal interest: What is the fastest way to send 100,000 HTTP requests in Python? And this is what I have came up so far, but I'm experiencing something very stange. When installSignalHandlers is True, it just hangs. I can see that the DelayedCall instances are in reactor._newTimedCalls, but processResponse never gets called.   • How do I pass a lot of parameters to views in Django?

    I'm very new to Django and I'm trying to build an application to present my data in tables and charts. Till now my learning process went very smooth, but now I'm a bit stuck. My pageview retrieves large amounts of data from a database and puts it in the context. The template then generates different html-tables. So far so good. Now I want to add different charts to the template. I manage to do this by defining <img src=".../> tags. The Matplotlib chart is generate in my chartview an returned via: response=HttpResponse(content_type='image/png') canvas.print_png(response) return response Now I have different questions: the data is retrieved twice from the database. Once in the pageview to render the tables, and again in the chartview for making the charts. What is the best way to pass the data, already in the context of the page to the chartview? I need a lot of charts, each with different datasets. I could make a chartview for each chart, but probably there is a better way. How do I pass the different dataset names to the chartview? Some charts have 20 datasets, so I don't think that passing these dataset parameters via the url (like: <imgm src="chart/dataset1/dataset2/.../dataset20/chart.png />) is the right way. Any advice?

    I have a SQL interface page in my classic ASP web app that allows admin users to run queries against the app's database (MSDE 2000) - it simply consists of a textarea that the user submits and the app returns the resulting list of records as below Dim oRS Set oRS = Server.CreateObject("ADODB.Recordset") oRS.ActiveConnection = sConnectionString // run the query - this is for the admin only so doesnt check for sql safe commands etc. oRS.Open Request.Form("txtSQL") If Not oRS.EOF Then // list the field names from the recordset For i = 0 to oRS.Fields.Count - 1 Response.Write oRS.Fields(i).name & "&nbsp;" Next // show the data for each record in the recordset While Not oRS.EOF For i = 0 to oRS.Fields.Count - 1 Response.Write oRS.Fields(i).value & "&nbsp;" Next Response.Write "<br />" oRS.Movenext() Wend End If The problem with this is that if you send it an invalid query (with a spelling mistake, invalid join etc.) instead of throwing back an error immediately, it hangs IIS (you can see this by trying to browse the app from another computer, it fails) for a number of minutes and THEN returns the error. I have NO idea why! Can anyone help?
