  I know I could easily do something like sub sin { sin($_[0]); } and symbolically reference that for every function I need to symb ref, but I'd just like to know if there's a way to do something like {$foo}(123); vs. &{$foo}(123); which works, but not for core functions. Thanks.

So is it possible to pass the variable Index from the main function to the doStuff function?

(html "blah" "foo" baz) = "blahfoobaz" I did not find a better way than this one: (defun html (&rest values) (concatenate 'string "" (reduce #'(lambda(a b) (concatenate 'string a b)) values :initial-value "") "")) But this looks somewhat glumbsy to me, since line 4 does no more than concatenating the &rest parameter "values". Can opening files/sockets without closing them cause memory leaks? And third, how are sockets created and what do they look like memory wise?
