  • Creating a customized video using Flash and XML

    - by Aaron Ladage
    The problem: I have to create a Flash video (in CS3) that will query a MySQL database and display that data at certain points in the video. The bigger problem: I'm not a Flash/ActionScript developer, so this is all very foreign to me! I've divided this project into two parts: a.) dynamically generate an XML feed from the data using PHP (using an ID number passed in the URL's query string), and b.) be able to work with it in Flash. I've got the first part working, but am pretty lost in Flash. I can parse the XML, but I'm not sure how to set the data up as variables and attach it to a video's cue points. Can anyone point me in the direction of a good tutorial or offer some advice?

  • Persist url parameter throughout grails app

    - by avelis
    Essentially I am looking to have a url query parameter persist throughout the life of the grails application (POST or GET). ex. http://localhost:8080/demo/controller/action/?myParam=foobar I have tried a couple routes. Dynamic method overriding redirect and customizing application tags for createLink. However, since I also use grails webflows it doesn't quite get every single URL. I also tried using a groovy servlet (groovlet) to capture every URL and append the query parameter. The last attempt hasn't been very successful. Am I missing an obvious component to grails? Am I on the right track? Is there another avenue I haven't explored yet? Thanks in advance

  • .Net opening and closing database connections

    - by Dan
    I designed the data access portion of our framework so that every time a business object needs to interact with the database it would have to open a connection, invoke the data access layer (to execute the query), and then close the connection. Then if it needed to run in a transaction it would open the connection, begin the transaction, invoke the data access layer (to execute the query) and then commit the transaction, close the transaction, and finally close the connection. I did it this way with the mindset of open late and close early... but what if I needed to call other BO's to submit data in a single transaction? Is there a better way to handle opening and closing connections as well as working with transactions? I'm a rookie in designing application architecture so I hope I'm not doing this wrongly... any help is appreciated.

  • Assert parameters in a table-valued UDF

    - by Clay Lenhart
    Is there a way to create "asserts" on the parameters of a table-valued UDF. I'd like to use a table-valued UDF for performance reasons, however I know that certain parameter combinations (like start and end dates that are more than a month apart) will cause performance issues on the server for all users. End users query the database via Excel using UDFs. UDFs (and table-valued UDFs in particular) are useful when the data is too large for Excel. Users write simple SQL queries that categorizes the data into groups to reduce the number of rows. For example, the user may be interested in weekly aggregates rather than hourly ones. Users write a group by SELECT statement to reduce the rows by 24x7=168 times. I know I can write RAISERROR statements in multistatement UDFs, but table-valued UDFs are integrated in the query optimizer so these queries are more efficient with table-valued UDFs. So, can I define assertions on the parameters passed to a table-valued UDF?

  • ROW_NUMBER() VS. DISTINCT

    - by ramadan2050
    Dear All, I have a problem with ROW_NUMBER() , if i used it with DISTINCT in the following Query I have 2 scenarios: 1- run this query direct : give me for example 400 record as a result 2- uncomment a line which start with [--Uncomment1--] : give me 700 record as a result it duplicated some records not all the records what I want is to solve this problem or to find any way to show a row counter beside each row, to make a [where rownumber between 1 and 30] --Uncomment2-- if I put the whole query in a table, and then filter it , it is work but it still so slow waiting for any feedback and I will appreciate that Thanks in advance SELECT * FROM (SELECT Distinct CRSTask.ID AS TaskID, CRSTask.WFLTaskID, --Uncomment1-- ROW_NUMBER() OVER (ORDER By CRSTask.CreateDate asc ) AS RowNum , CRSTask.WFLStatus AS Task_WFLStatus, CRSTask.Name AS StepName, CRSTask.ModifiedDate AS Task_ModifyDate, CRSTask.SendingDate AS Task_SendingDate, CRSTask.ReceiveDate AS Task_ReceiveDate, CRSTask.CreateDate AS Task_CreateDate, CRS_Task_Recipient_Vw.Task_CurrentSenderName, CRS_Task_Recipient_Vw.Task_SenderName, CRS_INFO.ID AS CRS_ID, CRS_INFO.ReferenceNumber, CRS_INFO.CRSBeneficiaries, CRS_INFO.BarCodeNumber, ISNULL(dbo.CRS_FNC_GetTaskReceiver(CRSTask.ID), '') + ' ' + ISNULL (CRS_Organization.ArName, '') AS OrgName, CRS_Info.IncidentID, COALESCE(CRS_Subject.ArSubject, '??? ????') • ASP.NET Dynamically filtering data

    - by Jasper
    For a project I'm working on, we're looking for a way to dynamically add filters to a page which then control the dataoutput in, for instance, a grid. We want to add the filters dynamically because we want the customer to be able to change which properties can be filtered and what filtertype (textbox, dropdown, colourpicker, etc.) should be used. The filter should work as follows: - The customer links a filter to a certain property and specifies the filtertype (for this example: dropdown). - A user control which contains all the filter loads all filters specified - The filters load all values of the specified property as options. The first time the page loads; this would be the values of all items. - Now the user selects a value from one of the filters; the page reloads - Only items which have the specified filter value are retrieved, the user may specify one or more filters at the same time. - Once a user drills down by filtering, only filtervalues of the retrieved items should be used in the other filters. I have the following problems: - When I create the filters runtime, events are lost because the controls get recreated each postback. - I could place the filters in PreInit which should solve this, but then determining which controls should be loaded becomes a problem since loading all environment vars isn't finished yet - I don't know a good way of returning all the filter values to a central point from which I can make a good query. - The query has to be dynamic. I'm using linq which I want to make dynamic so I don't have to select everything everytime. How to make a dynamic select query based on a string stored in the database? - I have to select items based on the filtervalues and then adjust the rest of the filters to the already made selection. That kind of messes up the whole regular databinding sequence. Any help in one of the above would be great! PS: One thing I thought about was passing along filter values in the postback which would have to be recognizable. That way the server could use them for selection and then create the filters and autoselect the previously selected filtervalues. I'm not quite sure how to acheive this though...

  • Linq to sql Error "Data at the root level is invalid " for nullable xml column

    - by Mukesh
    I have Created a table like CREATE TABLE [dbo].[tab1]( [Id] [int] NOT NULL, [Name] [varchar](100) NOT NULL, [Meta] [xml] NULL, CONSTRAINT [PK_tab1] PRIMARY KEY CLUSTERED ( [Id] ASC )WITH (PAD_INDEX = OFF, STATISTICS_NORECOMPUTE = OFF, IGNORE_DUP_KEY = OFF, ALLOW_ROW_LOCKS = ON, ALLOW_PAGE_LOCKS = ON) ON [PRIMARY] ) ON [PRIMARY] TEXTIMAGE_ON [PRIMARY] When I am doing linq to sql query to fetch a data it throw an error "data at the root level is invalid linq". In further investigation I come to know that the meta column is null in that case. In real it is nullable Do I have to remove the nullable and set some blank root node as default or there is some another way to get rid of the error. My linq Query which throws error var obj1= (from obj in dbContext.tab1s where obj.id== 123 select obj).FirstOrDefault<Tab1>();

  • Perl TDS character sets

    - by skiphoppy
    I'm using the FreeTDS driver with DBD::Sybase, connecting to an MS SQL Server. When I query certain values of certain records, I get this error: DBD::Sybase::st fetchrow_arrayref failed: OpenClient message: LAYER = (0) ORIGIN = (0) SEVERITY = (9) NUMBER = (99) Server , database Message String: WARNING! Some character(s) could not be converted into client's character set. Unconverted bytes were changed to question marks ('?'). This seems to happen for records that contain special Windows character-set characters, such as curly quotes, copied and pasted from people's Outlook and Word messages. Unfortunately, I do not have any control of this database; sanitizing the input on the way in is obviously the way to go, but is not available to me. What FreeTDS settings do I need to change to be able to successfully query these records?

  • how to run/compile java code from JTextArea at Runtime? ----urgent!!! college project

    I have a JInternalFrame painted with a BufferedImage and contained in the JDesktopPane of a JFrame.I also have a JTextArea where i want to write some java code (function) that takes the current JInternalFrame's painted BufferedImage as an input and after doing some manipulation on this input it returns another manipulated BufferedImage that paints the JInternalFrame with new manipulated Image again!!. Manipulation java code of JTextArea:- public BufferedImage customOperation(BufferedImage CurrentInputImg) { Color colOld; Color colNew; BufferedImage manipulated=new BufferedImage(CurrentInputImg.getWidth(),CurrentInputImg.getHeight(),BufferedImage.TYPE_INT_ARGB); //make all Red pixels of current image black for(int i=0;i< CurrentInputImg.getWidth();i++) { for(int j=0;j< CurrentInputImg.getHeight(),j++) { colOld=new Color(CurrentInputImg.getRGB(i,j)); colNew=new Color(0,colOld.getGreen(),colOld.getBlue(),colOld.getAlpha()); manipulated.setRGB(i,j,colNew.getRGB()); } } return manipulated; } so,how can i run/compile this JTextArea java code at runtime and get a new manipulated image for painting on JInternalFrame???????   Here is my Main class: (This class is not actual one but i have created it for u for basic interfacing containing JTextArea,JInternalFrame,Apply Button) import java.awt.*; import java.awt.event.*; import javax.swing.*; import javax.swing.event.*; import javax.swing.JInternalFrame; import javax.swing.JDesktopPane; import java.awt.image.*; import javax.imageio.*; import java.io.*; import java.io.File; import java.util.*; class MyCustomOperationSystem extends JFrame **{** public JInternalFrame ImageFrame; public BufferedImage CurrenFrameImage; public MyCustomOperationSystem() **{** setTitle("My Custom Image Operations"); setSize((int)Toolkit.getDefaultToolkit().getScreenSize().getWidth(),(int)Toolkit.getDefaultToolkit().getScreenSize().getHeight()); JDesktopPane desktop=new JDesktopPane(); desktop.setPreferredSize(new Dimension((int)Toolkit.getDefaultToolkit().getScreenSize().getWidth(),(int)Toolkit.getDefaultToolkit().getScreenSize().getHeight())); try{ CurrenFrameImage=ImageIO.read(new File("c:/Lokesh.png")); }catch(Exception exp) { System.out.println("Error in Loading Image"); } ImageFrame=new JInternalFrame("Image Frame",true,true,false,true); ImageFrame.setMinimumSize(new Dimension(CurrenFrameImage.getWidth()+10,CurrenFrameImage.getHeight()+10)); ImageFrame.getContentPane().add(CreateImagePanel()); ImageFrame.setLayer(1); ImageFrame.setLocation(100,100); ImageFrame.setVisible(true); desktop.setOpaque(true); desktop.setBackground(Color.darkGray); desktop.add(ImageFrame); this.getContentPane().setLayout(new BorderLayout()); this.getContentPane().add("Center",desktop); this.getContentPane().add("South",ControlPanel()); pack(); setVisible(true); **}** public JPanel CreateImagePanel(){ JPanel tempPanel=new JPanel(){ public void paintComponent(Graphics g) { g.drawImage(CurrenFrameImage,0,0,this); } }; tempPanel.setPreferredSize(new Dimension(CurrenFrameImage.getWidth(),CurrenFrameImage.getHeight())); return tempPanel; } public JPanel ControlPanel(){ JPanel controlPan=new JPanel(new FlowLayout(FlowLayout.LEFT)); JButton customOP=new JButton("Custom Operation"); customOP.addActionListener(new ActionListener(){ public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent evnt){ JFrame CodeFrame=new JFrame("Write your Code Here"); JTextArea codeArea=new JTextArea("Your Java Code Here",100,70); JScrollPane codeScrollPan=new JScrollPane(codeArea,ScrollPaneConstants.VERTICAL_SCROLLBAR_ALWAYS, ScrollPaneConstants.HORIZONTAL_SCROLLBAR_ALWAYS); CodeFrame.add(codeScrollPan); CodeFrame.setVisible(true); } }); JButton Apply=new JButton("Apply Code"); Apply.addActionListener(new ActionListener(){ public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent event){ // What should I do!!! • How to optimize my PostgreSQL DB for prefix search?

    - by asmaier
    I have a table called "nodes" with roughly 1.7 million rows in my PostgreSQL db =#\d nodes Table "public.nodes" Column | Type | Modifiers --------+------------------------+----------- id | integer | not null title | character varying(256) | score | double precision | Indexes: "nodes_pkey" PRIMARY KEY, btree (id) I want to use information from that table for autocompletion of a search field, showing the user a list of the ten titles having the highest score fitting to his input. So I used this query (here searching for all titles starting with "s") =# explain analyze select title,score from nodes where title ilike 's%' order by score desc; QUERY PLAN ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sort (cost=64177.92..64581.38 rows=161385 width=25) (actual time=4930.334..5047.321 rows=161264 loops=1) Sort Key: score Sort Method: external merge Disk: 5712kB -> Seq Scan on nodes (cost=0.00..46630.50 rows=161385 width=25) (actual time=0.611..4464.413 rows=161264 loops=1) Filter: ((title)::text ~~* 's%'::text) Total runtime: 5260.791 ms (6 rows) This was much to slow for using it with autocomplete. With some information from Using PostgreSQL in Web 2.0 Applications I was able to improve that with a special index =# create index title_idx on nodes using btree(lower(title) text_pattern_ops); =# explain analyze select title,score from nodes where lower(title) like lower('s%') order by score desc limit 10; QUERY PLAN ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Limit (cost=18122.41..18122.43 rows=10 width=25) (actual time=1324.703..1324.708 rows=10 loops=1) -> Sort (cost=18122.41..18144.60 rows=8876 width=25) (actual time=1324.700..1324.702 rows=10 loops=1) Sort Key: score Sort Method: top-N heapsort Memory: 17kB -> Bitmap Heap Scan on nodes (cost=243.53..17930.60 rows=8876 width=25) (actual time=96.124..1227.203 rows=161264 loops=1) Filter: (lower((title)::text) ~~ 's%'::text) -> Bitmap Index Scan on title_idx (cost=0.00..241.31 rows=8876 width=0) (actual time=90.059..90.059 rows=161264 loops=1) Index Cond: ((lower((title)::text) ~>=~ 's'::text) AND (lower((title)::text) ~<~ 't'::text)) Total runtime: 1325.085 ms (9 rows) So this gave me a speedup of factor 4. But can this be further improved? What if I want to use '%s%' instead of 's%'? Do I have any chance of getting a decent performance with PostgreSQL in that case, too? Or should I better try a different solution (Lucene?, Sphinx?) for implementing my autocomplete feature?

  • How to get video file details eg. duration in Android?

    - by spirytus
    I struggle to get specific video file details so duration etc. from the file the files recorded earlier. All I can currently do is to get cursor with all the files, then loop one by one. Cursor cursor = MediaStore.Video.query(getContext().getContentResolver(), MediaStore.Video.Media.EXTERNAL_CONTENT_URI, new String[]{MediaStore.Video.VideoColumns.DURATION,MediaStore.Video.VideoColumns.DATE_TAKEN,MediaStore.Video.VideoColumns.RESOLUTION,MediaStore.Video.VideoColumns.DISPLAY_NAME}); if(cursor.moveToFirst()) while(!cursor.isLast()){ if(cursor.getString(3)==fight.filename) { // do something here } cursor.moveToNext(); } I need however to access details of specific files so I tried to create URI but no luck as cursor returned is always null. Where do I go wrong? Uri uri = Uri.parse(Environment.DIRECTORY_DCIM+"/FightAll_BJJ_Scoring/"+(fight.filename)); Cursor cursor = MediaStore.Video.query(getContext().getContentResolver(), uri, new String[]{MediaStore.Video.VideoColumns.DURATION,MediaStore.Video.VideoColumns.DATE_TAKEN,MediaStore.Video.VideoColumns.RESOLUTION,MediaStore.Video.VideoColumns.DISPLAY_NAME}); // cursor is always null here

  • find rows that fall between a day and time of the week in sql server

    - by Corgalore
    I have a table of rows in MS SQL that contain a start and end day of the week, hour, and time. I need a T-SQL query that can pull rows from that table where GETDATE matches the day of week and time of those rows. Specifically, I need the query to work if a row has a day/time that starts on one day of the week and ends on the next day. Here's the structure I'm working with: _start_day_of_week (int) = 5_start_hour (int) = 15_start_minute (int) = 30 _end_day_of_week (int) = 6_end_hour (int) = 2 _end_minute (int) = 30 _title (string) = 'My Sample Row' _id (int) = 1 How would I retrieve this row given the current DATETIME?

  • Expression Tree

    - by nettguy
    My understanding of expression tree is : Expression trees are in-memory representation of expression like arithmetic or boolean expression.The expressions are stored into the parsed tree.so we can easily transalate into any other language. Linq to SQL uses expression tree.Normally in LINQ to SQL query the compiler translates it into parsed expression trees.These are passed to Sql Server as T-SQL Statements.The Sql server executes the T-SQL query and sends down the result back.That is why when you execute LINQ to SQL you gets IQueryable<T> not IEnumetrable<T>.Because IQuerybale contains public IQueryable:IEnumerable { Type Element {get;} Expression Expression {get;} IQueryaleProvider Provider {get;} } Questions : Microsoft uses Expression trees to play with LINQ-to-Sql.What are the different ways can i use expression trees to boost my code. Apart from LINQ to SQL,Linq to amazon ,who used expression trees in their applications? Linq to Object return IEnumerable,Linq to SQL return IQueryable ,What does LINQ to XML return?

  • LINQ aggregate left join on SQL CE

    - by P Daddy
    What I need is such a simple, easy query, it blows me away how much work I've done just trying to do it in LINQ. In T-SQL, it would be: SELECT I.InvoiceID, I.CustomerID, I.Amount AS AmountInvoiced, I.Date AS InvoiceDate, ISNULL(SUM(P.Amount), 0) AS AmountPaid, I.Amount - ISNULL(SUM(P.Amount), 0) AS AmountDue FROM Invoices I LEFT JOIN Payments P ON I.InvoiceID = P.InvoiceID WHERE I.Date between @start and @end GROUP BY I.InvoiceID, I.CustomerID, I.Amount, I.Date ORDER BY AmountDue DESC The best equivalent LINQ expression I've come up with, took me much longer to do: var invoices = ( from I in Invoices where I.Date >= start && I.Date <= end join P in Payments on I.InvoiceID equals P.InvoiceID into payments select new{ I.InvoiceID, I.CustomerID, AmountInvoiced = I.Amount, InvoiceDate = I.Date, AmountPaid = ((decimal?)payments.Select(P=>P.Amount).Sum()).GetValueOrDefault(), AmountDue = I.Amount - ((decimal?)payments.Select(P=>P.Amount).Sum()).GetValueOrDefault() } ).OrderByDescending(row=>row.AmountDue); This gets an equivalent result set when run against SQL Server. Using a SQL CE database, however, changes things. The T-SQL stays almost the same. I only have to change ISNULL to COALESCE. Using the same LINQ expression, however, results in an error: There was an error parsing the query. [ Token line number = 4, Token line offset = 9,Token in error = SELECT ] So we look at the generated SQL code: SELECT [t3].[InvoiceID], [t3].[CustomerID], [t3].[Amount] AS [AmountInvoiced], [t3].[Date] AS [InvoiceDate], [t3].[value] AS [AmountPaid], [t3].[value2] AS [AmountDue] FROM ( SELECT [t0].[InvoiceID], [t0].[CustomerID], [t0].[Amount], [t0].[Date], COALESCE(( SELECT SUM([t1].[Amount]) FROM [Payments] AS [t1] WHERE [t0].[InvoiceID] = [t1].[InvoiceID] ),0) AS [value], [t0].[Amount] - (COALESCE(( SELECT SUM([t2].[Amount]) FROM [Payments] AS [t2] WHERE [t0].[InvoiceID] = [t2].[InvoiceID] ),0)) AS [value2] FROM [Invoices] AS [t0] ) AS [t3] WHERE ([t3].[Date] >= @p0) AND ([t3].[Date] <= @p1) ORDER BY [t3].[value2] DESC Ugh! Okay, so it's ugly and inefficient when run against SQL Server, but we're not supposed to care, since it's supposed to be quicker to write, and the performance difference shouldn't be that large. But it just doesn't work against SQL CE, which apparently doesn't support subqueries within the SELECT list. In fact, I've tried several different left join queries in LINQ, and they all seem to have the same problem. Even: from I in Invoices join P in Payments on I.InvoiceID equals P.InvoiceID into payments select new{I, payments} generates: SELECT [t0].[InvoiceID], [t0].[CustomerID], [t0].[Amount], [t0].[Date], [t1].[InvoiceID] AS [InvoiceID2], [t1].[Amount] AS [Amount2], [t1].[Date] AS [Date2], ( SELECT COUNT(*) FROM [Payments] AS [t2] WHERE [t0].[InvoiceID] = [t2].[InvoiceID] ) AS [value] FROM [Invoices] AS [t0] LEFT OUTER JOIN [Payments] AS [t1] ON [t0].[InvoiceID] = [t1].[InvoiceID] ORDER BY [t0].[InvoiceID] which also results in the error: There was an error parsing the query. [ Token line number = 2, Token line offset = 5,Token in error = SELECT ] So how can I do a simple left join on a SQL CE database using LINQ? Am I wasting my time?

Tables schema : CREATE TABLE `testentities` ( `keyTestEntity` int(11) NOT NULL, `keyMultilingualText` int(11) NOT NULL, PRIMARY KEY (`keyTestEntity`) ) ENGINE=MyISAM AUTO_INCREMENT=0 DEFAULT CHARSET=utf8; CREATE TABLE `common_multilingualtexts` ( `keyMultilingualText` int(11) NOT NULL auto_increment, PRIMARY KEY (`keyMultilingualText`) ) ENGINE=MyISAM AUTO_INCREMENT=0 DEFAULT CHARSET=utf8; CREATE TABLE `common_multilingualtexts_values` ( `languageCode` varchar(5) NOT NULL, `keyMultilingualText` int(11) NOT NULL, `value` text, PRIMARY KEY (`languageCode`,`keyMultilingualText`) ) ENGINE=MyISAM DEFAULT CHARSET=utf8; MultilingualText.java @Entity @Table(name = "common_multilingualtexts") public class MultilingualText implements Serializable { private Integer m_iKeyMultilingualText; private Map<String, String> m_lValues = new HashMap<String, String>(); public void setKeyMultilingualText(Integer p_iKeyMultilingualText) { m_iKeyMultilingualText = p_iKeyMultilingualText; } @Id @GeneratedValue @Column(name = "keyMultilingualText") public Integer getKeyMultilingualText() { return m_iKeyMultilingualText; } public void setValues(Map<String, String> p_lValues) { m_lValues = p_lValues; } @ElementCollection(fetch = FetchType.EAGER) @CollectionTable(name = "common_multilingualtexts_values", joinColumns = @JoinColumn(name = "keyMultilingualText")) @MapKeyColumn(name = "languageCode") @Column(name = "value") public Map<String, String> getValues() { return m_lValues; } public void put(String p_sLanguageCode, String p_sValue) { m_lValues.put(p_sLanguageCode,p_sValue); } public String get(String p_sLanguageCode) { if(m_lValues.containsKey(p_sLanguageCode)) { return m_lValues.get(p_sLanguageCode); } return null; } } And it is used like this on a object (having a foreign key to the multilingual text) : @Entity @Table(name = "testentities") public class TestEntity implements Serializable { private Integer m_iKeyEntity; private MultilingualText m_oText; public void setKeyEntity(Integer p_iKeyEntity) { m_iKeyEntity = p_iKeyEntity; } @Id @GeneratedValue @Column(name = "keyEntity") public Integer getKeyEntity() { return m_iKeyEntity; } public void setText(MultilingualText p_oText) { m_oText = p_oText; } @OneToOne(cascade = CascadeType.ALL) @JoinColumn(name = "keyText") public MultilingualText getText() { return m_oText; } } Now, when doing a simple HQL query : from TestEntity, I get a query selecting TestEntity's and one query for each MultilingualText that need to be loaded on each TestEntity. I've searched a lot and found absolutely no solutions. I have tested : @Fetch(FetchType.JOIN) optional = false @ManyToOne instead of @OneToOne Now I am out of idea!

  • Automating WebTrends analysis

    - by tridium
    Every week I access server logs processed by WebTrends (for about 7 profiles) and copy ad clickthrough and visitor information into Excel spreadsheets. A lot of it is just accessing certain sections and finding the right title and then copying the unique visitor information. I tried using WebTrends' built-in query tool but that is really poorly done (only uses a drag-and-drop system instead of text-based) and it has a maximum number of parameters and maximum length of queries to query with. As far as I know, the tools in WebTrends are not suitable to my purpose of automating the entire web metrics gathering process. I've gotten access to the raw server logs, but it seems redundant to parse that given that they are already being processed by WebTrends. To me it seems very scriptable, but how would I go about doing that? Is screen-scraping an option?

  • Using code in both Actionscript3 and Javascript

    - by Ian
    Here's an interesting architectural query. I have a piece of code that needs to run on the server (under Node.js) and on the client (in a Flash 10 app written with Actionscript 3). The code is mostly fairly intricate object manipulation, it doesn't make any API calls, and works fine in both contexts. So far the project is just a demo, so I've been happy to copy and paste the code into both places. But it might be quite interesting to move forward with this. So how would you do it? I assume there is no easy way to get the Flash SDK (has to build without an IDE) to read and do something useful with a .js file. My only thought is that I could write a code-generator that takes the .js file and places it in an ActionScript wrapper. Are there any obvious approaches that I've missed? Just to pre-empt an obvious answer, I know about cross-platform languages like HaXe.

  • ActiveRecord Mapping

    - by Diego Dias
    Good morning, guys. I'm with a problem with the query that NHibernate generates. My mapping is like bellow: public class Matricula { [BelongsTo("IdTurma", NotNull=True)] public Turma {get;set;} } public class Turma { [BelongsTo("IdCurso", NotNull=True)] public Curso {get;set;} } public class Curso { [PrimaryKey("IdCurso", Generator=PrimaryKeyType.Identity)] public int IdCurso{get;set;} } The problem is: The Nh generates the query with left where should be inner. Between Matricula and Turma they makes inner, but between Turma and Curso they makes left outer. What's problem? What's wrong?

  • Drag and drop: jQuery UI or Scriptaculous?

    - by jpartogi
    Dear all, I am in the middle of the road whether to use jQuery UI or Scriptaculous for drag and drop. I am using Ruby on Rails, and Scriptaculous support in Ruby on Rails is superb with the existence of scriptaculous_helper.rb. But I have already use jQuery for the ajax and DOM manipulation. I do not mind to use scriptaculous since we can use jQuery.noConflict() in the code. I also kind of get the impression that scriptaculous drag and drop is better than jQuery UI drag and drop based on the online demos. So back to the original question, which one would you recommend as a drag and drop library and which one do you think is better than the other? Scriptaculous or jQuery UI?

  • Pear MDB2 class and raiserror exceptions in MSSQL

    - by drholzmichl
    Hi, in MSSQL it's possible to raise an error with raiserror(). I want to use a severity, which doesn't interrupt the connection. This error is raised in a stored procedure. In SQL Management Studio all is fine and I get my error code when executing this SP. But when trying to execute this SP via MDB2 in PHP5 this doesn't work. All I get is an empty array. MDB2 object is created via (including needed options): $db =& MDB2::connect($dsn); $db->setFetchMode(MDB2_FETCHMODE_ASSOC); $db->setOption('portability',MDB2_PORTABILITY_ALL ^ MDB2_PORTABILITY_EMPTY_TO_NULL); The following works (I get a PEAR error): $db->query("RAISERROR('test',11,0);"); But when calling a stored procedure which raises this error via $db->query("EXEC sp_raise_error"); there is not output. What's wrong?

  • Returning a DOM element with Webdriver in Javascript

    - by ehmicky
    How do I return a DOM Element with Webdriver in Javascript? I am using the wd.js Javascript bindings: require("wd") .remote("promiseChain") .init() .get("http://www.google.com") .elementById("mngb") .then(function(element) { console.log(element); }); I am getting this weird object that is not a standard DOM Element (for example I cannot get the HTML code out of it): { value: '0', browser: { domain: null, _events: {}, _maxListeners: 10, configUrl: { protocol: 'http:', slashes: true, auth: null, host: '127.0.0.1:4444', port: '4444', hostname: '127.0.0.1', hash: null, search: '', query: {}, pathname: '/wd/hub', path: '/wd/hub', href: 'http://127.0.0.1:4444/wd/hub' }, sauceRestRoot: 'https://saucelabs.com/rest/v1', noAuthConfigUrl: { protocol: 'http:', slashes: true, host: '127.0.0.1:4444', port: '4444', hostname: '127.0.0.1', hash: null, search: null, query: null, pathname: '/wd/hub', path: '/wd/hub', href: 'http://127.0.0.1:4444/wd/hub' }, defaultCapabilities: { browserName: 'firefox', version: '', javascriptEnabled: true, platform: 'ANY' }, _httpConfig: { timeout: undefined, retries: 3, retryDelay: 15, baseUrl: undefined }, sampleElement: { value: 1, browser: [Circular] }, sessionID: '238c9837-3d82-4d90-9594-cefb4ba8e6b9' } }
