  Hey everyone, I have a java project that I'm working on which was working until a few days ago. I'm not sure what I did to my Eclipse set-up to hose it but now I'm getting a java.lang.ClassNotFoundException when I try to run some code that accesses the google finance api. I've built a small test application that uses the google finance api on its own and that seems to work. So, I think this is a project specific problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated. • JQuery SelectToUISlider Issues

  Hopefully this hasn't been asked before as just a slider question, but I couldn't find an answer when already browsing questions. So, here goes: I have a SelectToUISlider (http://www.filamentgroup.com/lab/update_jquery_ui_slider_from_a_select_element_now_with_aria_support/) which is basically a modified JQuery UI Slider, and I'm using a range value. So, I start with one handle at 60, and another at 100 (scale from 0 to 100). What I want to do is click a radio button so that the 100 changes to a 0, and be able to change back to 100. I have been unsuccessful at changing it via JQuery selectors/javascript. However, when changing the selects to move the handles, this works, but the range appears not to follow if the second handle (at 100) moves to 0 behind the first handle (at 60). I'm thinking I might have to destroy the slider and rebuild it with the second handle (that starts as 100) become the first handle at 0 in this scenario (although I've tried destroying it and it doesn't seem to respond to that either.) • Nav Controller, UITableViewController, UITextField to become firstResponder?

  I have a core data application which uses a navigation controller to drill down to a detail view and then if you edit one of the rows of data in the detail view you get taken to an Edit View for the that single line, like in Apples CoreDataBooks example! The edit view is a UITableviewController which creates its table with a single section single row and a UITextfield in the cell, programatically. What I want to happen is when you select a row to edit and the edit view is pushed onto the nav stack and the edit view is animated moving across the screen, I want the textfield to be selected as firstResponder so that the keyboard is already showing as the view moves across the screen to take position. Like in the Contacts app or in the CoreDataBooks App. I currently have the following code in my app which causes the view to load and then you see the keyboard appear (which isn't what I want, I want the keyboard to already be there) - (void)viewDidAppear:(BOOL)animated { [super viewDidAppear:animated]; [theTextField becomeFirstResponder]; } You can't put this in -viewWillAppear as the textfield hasn't been created yet so theTextField is nil. In the CoreDataBooks App where they achieve what i want they load there tableview from a nib so they use the same code but in -viewWillAppear as the textfield has already been created! Is there anyway of getting around this without creating a nib, I want to keep the implementation programatic to enable greater flexibility. Many Thanks

• Some general C questions.

  Hello. I am trying to fully understand the process pro writing code in some language to execution by OS. In my case, the language would be C and the OS would be Windows. So far, I read many different articles, but I am not sure, whether I understand the process right, and I would like to ask you if you know some good articles on some subjects I couldn´t find. So, what I think I know about C (and basically other languages): C compiler itself handles only data types, basic math operations, pointers operations, and work with functions. By work with functions I mean how to pass argument to it, and how to get output from function. During compilation, function call is replaced by passing arguments to stack, and than if function is not inline, its call is replaced by some symbol for linker. Linker than find the function definition, and replace the symbol to jump adress to that function (and of course than jump back to program). If the above is generally true and I get it right, where to final .exe file actually linker saves the functions? After the main() function? And what creates the .exe header? Compiler or Linker? Now, additional capabilities of C, today known as C standart library is set of functions and the declarations of them, that other programmers wrote to extend and simplify use of C language. But these functions like printf() were (or could be?) written in different language, or assembler. And there comes my next question, can be, for example printf() function be written in pure C without use of assembler? I know this is quite big question, but I just mostly want to know, wheather I am right or not. And trust me, I read a lots of articles on the web, and I would not ask you, If I could find these infromation together on one place, in one article. Insted I must piece by piece gather informations, so I am not sure if I am right. Thanks.

  I'm using nop commerce open source. I wanted to show the recently add products in home page. so what I did is I activated plugin Nop JCarousel in the admin panel. • Subdomain on different host

  Hi everyone! I'm trying to host a subdomain for my site with a different hosting company and I'm running into issues on how to set it up. Here are the specifics: - Domain is registered with GoDaddy. - Nameservers are pointing to DiscountASP.net where ASP.NET app has been happily running for couple of years. - Would like blog.mydomain.com to point to my account with DreamHost.com to take advantage of their LAMP stack. I have added blog.mydomain.com to DreamHost (after adding mydomain.com) via their control panel. I thought I would be able to add a subdomain entry on GoDaddy to point to DreamHost, but all they allow is blog.mydomain.com = new url. In theory I could just take our .biz or .net domain and host it on DreamHost but was hoping I could do it all with a subdomain. So, to summarize I'd like to know if what I want to do is feasible and if so, how do I go about it (given the constraints of GoDaddy, DiscountASP, & DreamHost). Thanks, Matt

• How to setup prawn on heroku when installed as a git submodule

  I have a rails app that I am trying to deploy to heroku. This app generates pdfs using prawn. I installed prawn as a git submodule rather than as a gem as this is what is recommended on the prawn website (here). This has not worked well with heroku so far though. As stated on heroku's application constraints page submodules are not supported so I followed their instructions to track the submodule in the main project and tried again. This has not worked and when I access my application I get the following error: App failed to start An error happened during the initialization of your app. This may be due to a typo, wrong number of arguments, or calling a function that doesn’t exists. Check the stack trace below for specific details. Make sure the app is working locally in production mode, by running it with RAILS_ENV (for Rails apps) or RACK_ENV (for Sinatra or other rack apps) set to production. e.g. RAILS_ENV=production script/server. Original Error /usr/local/lib/ruby/site_ruby/1.8/rubygems/custom_require.rb:31:in `gem_original_require': /disk1/home/slugs/208590_03c9c22_67f5/mnt/app/controllers/invoices_controller.rb:37: syntax error, unexpected ')' (SyntaxError) ).to_pdf(@invoice) (and then a whole lot more that I'll spare you from) The .to_pdf function described in the last line is called in a controller in exactly the way described in the prawn how-to that I linked to above so my interpretation of the error message is that prawn is not being installed/detected. Does anyone know how I can address this? I'm new to heroku so have little idea how to approach this. Is the submodule approach for prawn dead in the water from the get-go? Do I need to install it as a gem instead. I'd rather keep it as a submodule just because that works for now and I don't want to break it.

• Getting EXC_BAD_ACCESS without any helpful msg from NSZombieEnabled

  Hello guys. I'm a newbie to iphone development and I've been struggling with an EXC_BAD_ACCESS error I got a couple of days ago. I'm basically taking the Stanford iphone class independently and I am trying to pass an array of NSManagedObjects to a TableViewController that's supposed to display them. The application launches in the simulator and displays the data in the tableView but it immediately errors out with an EXC_BAD_ACCESS. I followed instructions here and other places on how to use NSZombieEnabled to identify prematurely released objects but this one comes without any helpful msgs even with NSZombieEnabled. My guess is it must be caused by something trying to access unassigned memory that wasn't released through release/autorelease. Or else it would have been picked up as zombie object like the other errors I have been able to fix. I'm not a c expert but does that mean something like that could happen if I were to declare an object and send it a message without ever instantiating it? I looked through my code to see if I had anything like that and I came up empty. I have the stack trace in the debugger for this but I'm not sure how to make use of it. I'm a little frustrated because I can't use breakpoints in the code to narrow down the problem any further since it seems to happen after the app has finished loading. I thought the app would just stay idle if there was no possible user interaction. Is it failing at the tail end of the load where I can't easy see it or is jut doing stuff in the background after it's done loading. And I would much appreciate any tips on how to read the stacktrace for this. Thanks for the help guys.

• Is This a Valid Way to Use Blocks in Objective-C?

  I've been building a HTTP client that uses web services to synchronize information between the client and server. I've been using Blocks and NSURLConnection to achieve this on the client side, but I'm getting frequent EXC_BAD_ACCESS crashes in objc_msgSend(). From what I understand, this usually means that a stored block that has fallen off the stack has been called. I think I've coded things correctly to avoid this, but I'm still stuck. Here is conceptually what my code is doing. It starts by calling "synchronizeWithWebServer". That method invokes "listRootObjectsOnServerWithBlock:" which takes in a block to be called when the method returns. "listRootObjectsOnServersWithBlock:" initiates a NSURLConnection to the web server asynchronously. It to expects a block to be called when it returns. Inside that block I want to be able to execute the original Block (so aptly named 'block'). This is only a simplified version of my code. The real synchronization process is more complex but it's mostly more of the same as what you see below. Sometimes the code works perfectly, but about 80% of the time it crashes very early on in the routine. • Binary file email attachment problem

  Hi there, Using Python 3.1.2 I am having a problem sending binary attachment files (jpeg, pdf, etc.) - MIMEText attachments work fine.   I have a TableView controller class that uses a fetched results controller to display a list of 'patient' entities taken from a Core Data model. The sections of this table are taken from a patient attribute called 'location'. Here is the sort descriptor for the fetch request: NSSortDescriptor *locationDescriptor = [[NSSortDescriptor alloc] initWithKey:@"location" ascending:YES]; NSSortDescriptor *lastNameDescriptor = [[NSSortDescriptor alloc] initWithKey:@"lastName" ascending:YES]; NSArray *sortDescriptors = [[NSArray alloc] initWithObjects:locationDescriptor, lastNameDescriptor, nil]; Here is the initialisation code for the FRC: NSFetchedResultsController *aFetchedResultsController = [[NSFetchedResultsController alloc] initWithFetchRequest:fetchRequest managedObjectContext:managedObjectContext sectionNameKeyPath:@"location" cacheName:@"List"]; When I want to add a new 'patient' entity - I click an add button which then pushes an 'add new patient' view controller to the navigation stack. It seems to have something to do with the sorting of the location too. For instance, if the first patient location = ward 14 and the second = ward 9 then it crashes without fail. I'm wondering if this is something to do with how I am asking the fetched results controller to sort the section names?? This bug is driving me nuts and I just can't figure it out. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  How do I set up gdb on window so that it does not allow a program with assertion failure to terminate? I intend to check the stack trace and variables in the program.   I have a system with the following setup: I use: Windows CE 6 R3 Microsoft's Bluetooth stack including all profiles Motorola H500 The Audio Gateway service is up and running (checked through services list in cmd) GSM Module is functional - I am able to set outgoing calls and to answer calls. Bluetooth is functional - the A2DP profile plays music to Motorola headphones (can't remember the model right now) I want to hold a conversation using a headset device. I have included all Bluetooth components in the catalog. I pair the device using the Control Panel applet. When I press the button on the Motorla device to answer a call I get a print by the Audio Gateway: BTAGSVC: ConnectionEvent. BTAGSVC: SCOListenThread_Int - Connection Event. BTAGSVC: ConnectionEvent. BTAGSVC: SCOListenThread_Int - Connection Event. BTAGSVC: ConnectionEvent. BTAGSVC: A Bluetooth peer device has connected to the Audio Gateway. BTAGSVC: Could not open registry key for BT Addr: 2. BTAGSVC: The peer device was not accepted since the user has never confirmed it as a device to be used. So my questions are as follows: What do I need to do to pair the device with the Audio Gateway? Once my device is paired, do I need to set anything else up? (except for the GSM module of course)

• Need help with creating complex UITableView items (like the Settings app).

  I hoping to create a custom Settings view, similar to the Settings application, but with more control over the UI and access to some settings (i need to lock some of the settings). Obvously, there are a variety of UI elements mixed in each row of application's UITableView. For example, the 'Airplane Mode' setting shows a UISwitch, while the 'Wi-Fi' setting has a text value adjacent to the disclosure symbol (''). Further complicating matters, is the grouping of these settings. I have some general questions about the approach I should take: Seems like i need to save the name of the setting, its current value, its grouping, and the type of UI element(s) needed to modify its value. i would like to make use [NSUserDefault standardUserDefaults], but not have these settings appear in the Settings application. I'm guessing that I will need to create my own settings-persistence class. is it better to build each one of these complex UI-element combinations in code or to create a series of custom views based on the UITableViewCell and load the appropriate one? i'm guessing the latter. some of the setting require that i load another view to select its value. assuming that the application is based on the Utility pattern, should the SettingsView manage the navigation stack, rather than having the app delegate do so? I would like to move the search box (.dataTables_filter) and number of records to display dropdown (.dataTables_length) from their parent element (.dataTables_wrapper) to another div on my page without losing any registered javascript behavior.   Hi all, We are dealing with a problem when using NHibernate with Remoting in a machine with full trust enviroment (actually that's our dev machine). The problem happens when whe try to send as a parameter an object previously retrieved from the server, that contains a NHibernate Proxy in one of the properties (a lazy one). As we are in the dev machine, there's no restriction in the trust level of the web app (it's set to Full) and, as a plus, we've configured NHibernate's and Castle's assemblies to full trust in CAS (even thinking that it'd not be necessary as the remoting app in IIS has the full trust level).   I have a webservice with a method which is called via a xmlhttprequest object in my javascript. The method accepts a datetime parameter which is subsequently converted to a string and run against the database to perform a calculation. I get the value from m_txtDateAdd and send off the xmlHttprequest <asp:textbox id=m_txtDateAdd tabIndex=4 runat="server" Width="96px" Text="<%# Today %>"> </asp:textbox> which has a validator attacted to it <asp:CustomValidator id="m_DateAddValidator" runat="server" ErrorMessage="Please Enter a Valid Date" ControlToValidate="m_txtDateAdd">&#x25CF;</asp:CustomValidator> My webmethod looks something like this [WebMethod] public decimal GetTotalCost(DateTime transactionDate) { String sqlDateString = transactionDate.Year+"/"+transactionDate.Month+"/"+transactionDate.Day; I use sqlDateString as part of the commandtext i send off to the database. Its a legacy application and its inline sql so I don't have the freedom to set up a stored procedure and create and assign parameters in my code behind. This works 90% of the time. • Android : Customizing tabs on state : How do I make a selector a drawable

  I know how to put the icon on each tab, that is no problem. I also ran across this : Stack Overflow thread on pretty much same thing I followed one of the links from that question, and found this Pretty much, it said use a selector defined in the xml, sure, did that. But there is no id associated w/ it so I am not sure how to get the selector function as a drawable so I can use it as the icon for the tabs. Maybe I am going about this the wrong way..   I want to hide columns in asp.net in GridView then access the values in GridViewSelectIndexChanged using vb.net. I am using hidden fields in the GridView.   Greetings stack overflow community. I've recently started building an OLAP cube in SSAS2008 and have gotten stuck. I would be grateful if someone could at least point me towards the right direction. Situation: Two fact tables, same cube. FactCalls holds information about calls made by subscribers, FactTopups holds topup data. Both tables have numerous common dimensions one of them being the Subscriber dimension. FactCalls             FactTopups SubscriberKey      SubscriberKey CallDuration         DateKey CallCost               Topup Value ... What I am trying to achieve is to be able to build FactCalls reports based on distinct subscribers that have topped up their accounts within the last 7 days. What I am basically looking for an MDX equivalent to SQL's: select * from FactCalls where SubscriberKey in ( select distinct SubscriberKey from FactTopups where ... ); I've tried creating a degenerate dimension for both tables containing SubscriberKey and doing: Exist( [Calls Degenerate].[Subscriber Key].Children, [Topups Degenerate].[Subscriber Key].Children ) Without success.
