  • jquery easy image slider

    - by Jack
    Using easy slider to scroll through Images . It's working occasionally (on a refresh), but more often not. The height of the slide and also the position get screwed up on load for seconds. This style was applied to the style="width: 1308px; height: 70px; overflow-x: hidden; overflow-y: hidden;" I'm not sure where it's pulling those values from (height and width) the slide not expanding vertically to reveal the content and the slide being out of position horizontally. I have this style applied to #slider width:538px; height:auto; overflow:hidden; but they're not being passed correctly.

    I am building a django based application and its time to add the DHTML stuff. One of my fields represent a database field with this format databaseName.tableName.fieldName I would like to have javascript autocompletion in three levels, say once I type part of the database names I get a list of all matching databases, one that is selected I get a list of all tables, and once that is selected I get a list of all fields in that table, all in the same textfield. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks M

  • Jquery returns index -1 always

    - by jfreak53
    This is my index code that I use to return the buttons parent div's index: j('#optionform').index( j(this).parent() ) I'm trying to find out the DIV index of the button clicked, so I can remove the DIV. The HTML layout is like so: <form id="optionform" onsubmit="return false;"> <label><input type="checkbox" id="s_name" value="s_name"> Survey Name </label> <label><input type="checkbox" id="s_type" value="s_type"> Survey Type </label><br> Filter Results:<br> <div id="template" style="display: none;"> Column: <select id="fcolumn[]"> <option></option> <option value="s_name">Survey Name</option> <option value="s_type">Survey Type</option> </select><br> Filter Type: <select id="ftype[]"> <option></option> <option value="=">Equals</option> <option value="LIKE">Like</option> </select><br> Filter content: <input type="text" id="fcontent[]"><br> <img src="images/add.png" width="32px" onclick="addTemp(); return false;"> <img src="images/delete.png" width="32px" onclick="alert(j(this).attr('src')); remTemp(j('#optionform').index( j(this).parent() )); return false;"> </div> <div class="template" style="display: block;"> Column: <select id="fcolumn[]"> <option></option> <option value="s_name">Survey Name</option> <option value="s_type">Survey Type</option> </select><br> Filter Type: <select id="ftype[]"> <option></option> <option value="=">Equals</option> <option value="LIKE">Like</option> </select><br> Filter content: <input type="text" id="fcontent[]"><br> <img src="images/add.png" width="32px" onclick="addTemp(); return false;"> <img src="images/delete.png" width="32px" onclick="alert(j(this).attr('src')); remTemp(j('#optionform').index( j(this).parent() )); return false;"> </div> <div class="template" style="display: block;"> Column: <select id="fcolumn[]"> <option></option> <option value="s_name">Survey Name</option> <option value="s_type">Survey Type</option> </select><br> Filter Type: <select id="ftype[]"> <option></option> <option value="=">Equals</option> <option value="LIKE">Like</option> </select><br> Filter content: <input type="text" id="fcontent[]"><br> <img src="images/add.png" width="32px" onclick="addTemp(); return false;"> <img src="images/delete.png" width="32px" onclick="alert(j(this).attr('src')); remTemp(j('#optionform').index( j(this).parent() )); return false;"> </div> </form> But it always returns -1 in the index.

  • Add in integer to returned value with jQuery

    - by danferth
    I have a page with a div id="videoFrame" that holds the video tag. The videos have variable heights so I have a function to grab the height value and plug it into the css of the div id="videoFrame like so: var videoHeight = $('video').attr('height'); $('#videoFrame').css('height',videoHeight+'px'); This works great. But here's the part driving me crazy. I have a p tag with disclaimers at the bottom of the div id="videoFrame". So I would like to add an additional 26px to the returned height. I tried: var videoHeight = $('video').attr('height'); var frameHeight = videoHeight + 26; $('#videoFrame').css('height',frameHeight+'px'); But as you would expect it is adding 26 to the end of the returned value. i.e. if returned value is 337 output for var frameHeight is 33726. I can not for the life of me figure out how to do this. Thanks in advance for any help

  • jQuery table rebuild

    - by Happy
    We have a table: <table> <tr> <td>1</td> <td>2</td> <td>3</td> <td>4</td> <td>5</td> <td>6</td> <td>7</td> <td>8</td> <td>9</td> <td>10</td> </tr> </table> We update this table by throwing into each <tr> only 3 <td>. It must look like: <table> <tr> <td>1</td> <td>2</td> <td>3</td> </tr> <tr> <td>4</td> <td>5</td> <td>6</td> </tr> <tr> <td>7</td> <td>8</td> <td>9</td> </tr> <tr> <td>10</td> </tr> </table> How can we do this?   • Can't get jQuery to get focus on cloned input fields

    - by Rebel1Moon
    I have a page that needs to create dynamic form fields as often as the user needs, and I am trying to use Ajax to tie it in to my database for faster form entry and to prevent user typos. So, I have put my Ajax returned data into popup div, the user selects, then the form field is filled in. The problem comes on the cloned fields. They don't seem to want to bring up the popup div when focused. I am thinking it is something to do with when they get created/added to the DOM. Here is my JS that creates the clones: $(document).ready(function() { var regex = /^(.*)(\d)+$/i; var cloneIndex = $(".clonedInput").length; $("button.clone").live("click", function(){ $(this).parents(".clonedInput").clone() .appendTo("#course_container") .attr("id", "clonedInput" + cloneIndex) .find("*").each(function() { var id = this.id || ""; var match = id.match(regex) || []; if (match.length == 3) { this.id = match[1] + (cloneIndex); } }); cloneIndex++; numClones=cloneIndex-1; //alert("numClones "+numClones); }); Here is where I expect to be able to get focus on the correct cloned field and call the popup. The baker_equiv0 id is original code, whereas baker_equiv1 is the first clone. $('#baker_equiv0').focus(function() { \\ THIS CODE WORKS $('.popup').fadeIn(500); $('#results').empty(); // document.enter_data.baker_equiv1.value="test"; THIS LINE WORKS //alert("numClones "+numClones); }); $('#baker_equiv1').focus(function() { // THIS DOESN'T EVER FIRE alert("numClones "+numClones); $('.popup').fadeIn(500); $('#results').empty(); }); Here is the HTML with the form: <label for="baker_equiv" class="">Baker Equivalent: <span class="requiredField">*</span></label> <input type="text" class="cinputsa" name="baker_equiv[]" id="baker_equiv0" size="8" ONKEYUP="get_equiv(this.value);"> If I put this in the HTML code above, it works fine: onfocus="alert(this.id)" I'd also be interested in how to adjust the JS code to work based on the id array created rather than having to copy code for each potential set of fields clones, i.e., baker_equiv[] rather than baker_equiv0, baker_equiv1, etc. Thanks all!

  • jQuery animate element reveal - bottom to top

    - by Jon Hadley
    I'm trying to animate a horizontal lists appearance. It's a top navigation bar. The following works pretty well, but it animates in from the top (of, I assume, the ul) to the bottom. How would animate bottom, up? $("#topnavigation li").css({height:'0'}); // 'hide' it first $("#topnavigation li", this).stop().animate({height:'23px'},{queue:false,duration:1000});

  • asp.net mvc jQuery $.post works but $.get doesn't

    - by iboeno
    Why would POST work but not GET? I'm not using [AcceptVerbs(HttpVerbs.Post)]. I'm calling this: public ActionResult GetTest(string key) { var test = new { HelpTest = key }; return Json(test); } And it works when I do this: $.post("/Home/GetTest", { key: options.key }, function(helpTest) { alert(helpTest.HelpTest); }); But not this: $.get("/Home/GetTest", { key: options.key }, function(helpTest) { alert(helpTest.HelpTest); }); Why would this be? Using GET returns an XMLHttpRequest.status of 500. What am I confused about?

  • Jquery Double clicking on link removing div content

    - by ram
    I wrote this code to load the content of a DIV ,when some one clicks on a link. Now,if you click on a link twice,it is removing the content. Here is the code $('a').click(function() { var id = $(this).attr('class'); if(id == 'first') { $('.active').removeClass('active'); $('a.first').addClass('active'); } else if(id == 'second') { $('.active').removeClass('active'); $('a.second').addClass('active'); } $('#first').toggle(id == 'first'); $('#second').toggle(id == 'second'); });? <a class="first">one</a> <a class="second">two</a> <div> <li id="first"> <h2>pen</h2> <div> <div>parker</div> </div> </li> <li id="second" style="display: none;"> <h2>car</h2> <div>Bugatti</div> </div> </li> </div>? .active { color: green; }

  • Do I have to duplicate this function? - jQuery

    - by Josh
    I'm using this function to create an transparent overlay of information over the current div for a web-based mobile app. Background: using jQTouch, so I have separate divs, not individual pages loading new. $(document).ready(function() { $('.infoBtn').click(function() { $('#overlay').toggleFade(400); return false; }); }); Understanding that JS will run sequentially when i click the button on the first div the function works fine. When I go to the next div if I click the same button nothing "happens" when this div is displayed, but if i go back to the first div it has actually triggered it on this page. So I logically duplicated the function and changed the CSS selector names and it works for both. But do I have to do this for each use? Is there a way to use the same selectors, but load the different content in each variation?

  • jquery regex question ?

    - by Rachel
    I have following div: <div id = "zone-2fPromotion-2f" class = "promotion"> How can I get value 2f present in the end, actually it is the value of Promotion and how can I retrieve it ? I was using this.match = this.id.match(/(Promotion)-([0-9a-f]{2})/); but it is not giving me exact result but it gives me array of (Promotion-2f, Promotion, 2f) but this is not what I require. Any guidance and also if any one can refer me to good online resource for regex, it would highly helpful and appreciated.

  • Using jquery to change checkbox status

    - by Jeff
    Hi everyone! I have a list of items that have checkboxes associated with them, and the items are beneath a list header, which also has a checkbox(for db purposes only) which is actually hidden from view. I need to make it so that if any of the checkboxes beneath the header is checked, then the header checkbox is checked as well. BUT I also need to make it so that if all of the checkboxes are unchecked, then the header one is unchecked...how hard is this going to be? This is how I have it setup now: if($('.childCheckBox').is(":checked")){ $('#parentBox').attr('checked', true); } Now I am thinking that if I were to do something where I add an else if clause: else if($('.proBox2').is(not)(":checked"){ alert("uncheck parent"); } But I don't know the correct syntax for is-not, or isn't, or even if there is anything that will do that. Are there any thoughts out there? I need the box to check if one is selected and uncheck if none are selected. Thanks!!

  • JQuery addclass to another div (but not parent) if no data is found

    - by Danny
    I have this to add a class to the main table that the report is in if there is no data returned. $('#report-area table td:contains("Sorry, your search did not return any data")').parents('#reportArea').addClass('no-report-data') However, I have another div area "#report-footer" but it's not inside #report-area. I'd like to also add the .no-report-data class to "#report-footer" as well but in this case I don't think the .parents selector will work. Is there another selector I can use to do this?

  • mvc partial views loses track of the images folder when using jquery

    - by jvelez
    This is what I have and it works: $(function(){ $('.slide-out-div').tabSlideOut({ tabHandle: '.handle', //class of the element that will become your tab pathToTabImage: 'http://mhmiisdev2/images/contact_tab.gif', //path to the image for the tab //Optionally can be set using css imageHeight: '122px', //height of tab image //Optionally can be set using css imageWidth: '40px', //width of tab image //Optionally can be set using css tabLocation: 'right', //side of screen where tab lives, top, right, bottom, or left speed: 300, //speed of animation action: 'click', //options: 'click' or 'hover', action to trigger animation topPos: '200px', //position from the top/ use if tabLocation is left or right leftPos: '20px', //position from left/ use if tabLocation is bottom or top fixedPosition: true //options: true makes it stick(fixed position) on scroll }); }); This is what I want and it doesnt work when I change from one controller to another controller. NOTICE THE IMAGE PATH IS NOT ABSOLUTE $(function(){ $('.slide-out-div').tabSlideOut({ tabHandle: '.handle', //class of the element that will become your tab pathToTabImage: '/images/contact_tab.gif', //path to the image for the tab //Optionally can be set using css imageHeight: '122px', //height of tab image //Optionally can be set using css imageWidth: '40px', //width of tab image //Optionally can be set using css tabLocation: 'right', //side of screen where tab lives, top, right, bottom, or left speed: 300, //speed of animation action: 'click', //options: 'click' or 'hover', action to trigger animation topPos: '200px', //position from the top/ use if tabLocation is left or right leftPos: '20px', //position from left/ use if tabLocation is bottom or top fixedPosition: true //options: true makes it stick(fixed position) on scroll }); }); the html for completeness.... <div class="slide-out-div"> <a class="handle" href="http://link-for-non-js-users.html">Content</a> <h3>Medical Variance Reports</h3> <div> <ul> <li><a href="http://mhmssrs2/Reports/Pages/Report.aspx?" target="_blank">Individual Medicines</a></li> </ul> </div> </div> I suspect somehow pathToTabImage: /images/contact_tab.gif' loses its context when browsing throught controllers. Help me understand...
