    - by RexOnRoids

  • CADisplayLink stops updating when UIScrollView scrolled

    - by Tricky
Title is quite self explanatory, but I have some animation being done in a loop triggered by CADisplayLink. However, as soon as I scroll a UIScrollView I have added to my view hierarchy, the animation stops immediately, only to return again when scrolling has completely stopped and come to a standstill.... Anyway to cancel this behaviour?

  • Alternative to cPanel (For Email, ect)

    - by Dboy1612
I'm currently setting up a VPS for the first time. Standard that I've ever worked with before on shared hosting was cPanel, but as the majority of my work I plan on doing from now on will be using NodeJS and Python/Flask, I'd like to avoid needing to install Apache/MySQL/PHP. What would be my best bet to help manage a mail server other than cPanel? Or even other specific server settings that may come in handy later? Plan on using Ubuntu if that counts for anything.

  • Why does this crash: stringByAppendingFormat

    - by Emil
Hey. My code crashes at this function (at the stringByAppendingFormat: with error objc_msgSend() selector name: stringByAppendingFormat). This is that line: // imagesPath = ...iPhone Simulator/4.0/Applications/NUMBERS/Documents/images UIImage *image = [[UIImage alloc] initWithContentsOfFile:[imagesPath stringByAppendingFormat:@"/%d.png", [[self.postsArrayID objectAtIndex:row] intValue]]]; Could it have something to do with the retaining of objects? Thanks :)

  • Recursive only 2 level records using common sql

    - by Tony
I have an Employee table, it's a self-referencing table, with managerId refers to primary key empID. I want to find 2 level records by a given empId. For example: if given empId=5, if empId=5 has children records, display them, as well as the children in children records. You may also provide a recursive suggestion without level limitation. The database is SQL Server 2005.

  • Social Media event Bandwidth requirements

    - by Bob G
I have an one day event in July 2012, hosting 250 attendees for a social media event. We will be uploading live video to a website, allowing the press to access the web, and some vendors will be showing off their web sites for clients and visitors. The staff will need access for uploading files and information as needed. We had the event last year and tried a cable modem brought in with 2x2 megs just for the streaming video which worked well. I had 4 wireless hot spots, rented from a company 1.5 mbps x 780 kbps, which was were a complete failure. I was assured the 4 hot spots would be enough, but they did not work. What would be the proper way to get the bandwidth required to make the one day event successful? The setting is a Private Country Club where running cables everywhere is very tough.

  • How do I remove the alert: "...may not respond to..."

    - by balexandre
    In my .m file I call a method that is inside the same .m file. In the header I have the correct import for the header but I keep getting this alert: What am I doing wrong? What should I do in order to make this error disappear? I'm kinda lost here :-( Even if I changed this to: NSString *path = [[NSString alloc] initWithString:@"...."]; [self parseXMLFileAtURL:path]; [path release];

  • Looking for a chart of Wpf Bindings

    - by BSalita
I'm probably typical in being bewildered by the many syntaxes of Wpf binding. Does anyone know of a chart that lays out all the possibilities. Across one axis is all the variations of binding syntaxes (Static, Dynamic, Self, ...), the other axis are all the variations of scoping and type. The intersection of the axis show an example. Surely someone, some author has done this, eh?

  • About presenter pattern in rails. is a better way to do it?

    - by Totty
I have in my model: def presenter @presenter ||= ProfilePresenter.new(self) @presenter end The ProfilePresenter is a class that has methods like, get_link(), get_img_url(size), get_sex(), get_relationship_status() and other methods that have not to do with the model, not even with the controller but is used multiple times in the view. So now i use them by doing this: Profile.presenter.get_link # or Profile.presenter.get_img_url('thumb') # returns the path of the image. is not used to make a db query

  • On saving a new record an associated id changes to 9 figure number

    - by Dave
Hi, I have a table of venues, with each venue belonging to an area and a type. I recently dropped the table and added to it some addressline fields. I have re-migrated it but now the area_id field saves as a random? 9 figure number. Both the area_id and venuetype_id integers are created in the same way from the create new form and the venuetype_id saves as normal but not the area_id. Can anyone offer any help? whats shown in the console => [#<Venue id: 4, name: "sdf", addressline1: "", addressline2: "", addressline3 : "", addressline4: "", icontoppx: 234, iconleftpx: 234, area_id: 946717224, ven uetype_id: 8, created_at: "2011-03-17", updated_at: "2011-03-17 23:33:53">] irb(main):030:0> the area_id should be 8 in the above example. • Python Split usage

    - by Chris M
I'm cocking this up and it should be really simple but the value of sortdate is none (note im only doing this because converting a string to a date in Python is a bugger). DateToPass = str(self.request.get('startdate')) mybreak.startdate = DateToPass faf = DateToPass.split('-') sortdate = str(faf[2] + faf[1] + faf[0]) That should work? but its just being stored as null though the datetopass is being stored fine.

  • Java on 256MB system?

    - by Mike S.
For a school project, I've registered a free VPS on a hosting provider (pipni.cz). It has 256MB RAM: Mem: 262144k total, 148104k used, 114040k free, 0k buffers It's running on Debian Squeeze. I always get this error when I run a Java program: Error occurred during initialization of VM Could not reserve enough space for object heap Could not create the Java virtual machine. I tried to use Xms, Xmx, Xss with low values and still same result. ulimit -v gives me "unlimited". My application will be pretty simple and I need to use rmiregistry also. Can somebody help?

  • How do Perl FIRSTKEY and NEXTKEY work

    - by mmccoo
Tie::Hash has these: sub FIRSTKEY { my $a = scalar keys %{$_[0]}; each %{$_[0]} } sub NEXTKEY { each %{$_[0]} } NEXTKEY takes two arguments, one of which is the last key but that arg is never referenced? The various Tie docs don't shed any light on this other than this in perltie: my $a = keys %{$self->{LIST}}; # reset each() iterator looking at the doc for each doesn't add to this. What's going on?
