I've created a web application in asp.net. I've to generate embed code for one of my page so that other websites can embed that code in their websites. Tell me what is the best way to do this?
I Have an N-Pages PDF linked in a my web page.
I want to be able to browse the PDF, with next and prev arrows, page numbers, etc etc
I want to be able to browse the PDF without using any Flash Plugin.
I also want to normalize the browsing behaviour, so i don't want to use the default PDF plugin of the browser.
I'm looking for a JS plugin but i don't find interesting solutions.
Any other suggestions ?
Thanks
What are the possible ways to authenticate user when websocket connection is used?
Example scenario: Web based multi-user chat application through encrypted websocket connection. How can I ensure (or guarantee) that each connection in this application belongs to certain authenticated user and "can't be" exploited by false user impersonation during the connection.
Is it possible to instruct the aspnet_compiler to set debug=false in the web.config?
My intention is to automate this as part of the nant build process. I am open to suggestions other than xml parsing
Say I have an image with a couple of dots in a web page. When someone clicks on the dots I want a JavaScript function to be executed and then a div placed over the clicked dot in the image. Something akin to markers in maps. How do I go about doing this?
Just was wondering if all the web development languages such as PHP, python, asp.net had pretty much the same functions. And choosing which language to use is just a matter of preference
I know it might sound weird, but I wrote a web server without knowing how to deploy it and run it, so how do I do it in eclipse? (and please specify the eclipse version)

We are using a web scraper and have it set up to have a sleep function which has a random function set up (so that it isn't the same time between each scrape) but we are still getting blocked from Yahoo after 20-30 requests.
Does any one know if there is a limit (i.e: 20 requests per minutes, 200 an hour) Right now our average between each request is around 3-6 seconds. Thanks for any help
Hello, I have an Apache server running which hosts a php web application. Also, its provides provisions for downloading a file of size around 900MB from it. However, while testing the application I found out that its not possible to pause the downloads and resume them later on.
Could someone help me? Is it an apache property I must change?
I've checked out the usefule link how to download a file from internet using Delphi and my question related but I would appreciate a pointer to get started. I need to be able to copy all files in a web server folder down to a local folder. I wont know how many files there are, or indeed whether there is an internet connection. Are there component(s) that would help me please? Or can I use Windows API?
Thanks

What is the best way to create a webservice for accepting an image.

I'm going to create a new PayPal project. Should I just create a regular Class Library project then add the reference to the WSDL? We are not using WCF. I just want to know what the best project type / template I should use if I'm going to share this project with lets say another WAP web project. I simply want to create wrappers for some of the WSDL that we'll be using in part of the PayPal API.
I want to upload files outisde web server like in d d drive into servlets, I but I'm not able to upload them.

Do you use microformats in your web projects?
If yes then why?
If no then why?
If yes then for which things do you use?
Is there any alternate of microformats in HTML 5 ?
One of my web services returns the list of ids of the the projects a person is owner of. That is, when I GET http://example.com/wsListProjects?user=eric I get back xml with the list of projects. However, when I specify user=xxx, who doesn't exist, I currently return a 404 response? Is this the correct response to return?
Thanks.
I am new to programming and only know html, css,PHP and would like to start learning another new language. I am focused on web development and would just like to get your opinion on ASP.net and python.
Which language would serve me best in making sites as to general programming? ASP.NET or django python?
I know Python is "easy to learn" and similar to PHP, but ASP.net is also a good language.
ISO 8601 and RFC 3339 seem to be two formats that are common the web. Should I use one over the other? Is one just an extension? Do I really need to care that bad?

I'm considering using PostgreSQL with a .Net web app. Basically 3 reasons:
Mature Geo Queries
Small footprint + Linux
Price
I'm wondering a bit about tools though, SQL Server Profiler and query plans and performance monitors have been helpful. How is this world with Postgres? Some other things I should consider?
Edit: Will most likely use NHibernate as ORM
I'm currently developing a support system for a university. The system is written in PHP and I would like to be able to get a current list of software and basic computer information on a computer. Basically when one of the faculty or staff creates a ticket from our web interface, I would like to have a Java Applet or similar that could be run and would return the information to the help desk PHP script. Does something like this exist?
Well the topic says it all. Can I use google web toolkit to generate my views to be used in Castle Monorail project and render it through nvelocity view engine. Is it at all possible?
I've seen that it's possible to get the latitude and longitude (geocoding, like in Google Maps API) from a street address, but is it possible to do the reverse and get the street address when you know what the lat/long already is?
The application would be an iPhone app (and why the app already knows lat/long), so anything from a web service to an iPhone API would work.
