  • PHP: Ajax ignores line foldings in the text

    - by ilnur777
    I don't understand why my AJAX script ignores all line foldings. I first type text to the textarea and then put onclick to send button. Here is my AJAX realization: // creating ajax object // ==================== function createRequestObject(){ try { return new XMLHttpRequest() } catch(e) { try { return new ActiveXObject('Msxml2.XMLHTTP') } catch(e) { try { return new ActiveXObject('Microsoft.XMLHTTP') } catch(e) { return null; } } } } // message options (save, cancel) // ============================== function form1(text){ var http = createRequestObject(); if(http){ http.open("GET", "my_script.php?text=" + text); http.onreadystatechange = function (){ if(http.readyState == 4){ alert("Ok!"); } } http.send(null); } else { document.location = "my_script.php?text=" + text; } } html form <p align="justify" style="margin-right:10; margin-left:10;"> <table style="margin-right:10; margin-left:10;" align="center" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" width="680"> <TBODY> <form name="fgform"> <tr> <td width="680" height="100" colspan="2"><p><textarea id="edit_text1" name="edit_text" rows="3" style="width: 680; height: 100;"></textarea></p></td> </tr> <tr> <td width="340"><p><input type="button" id="saveB" value="Save Text" style="color:rgb(0,204,0); background-color:white; border-width:1; border-color:rgb(225,218,202); border-style:solid; width:100;" onclick="form1(document.getElementById('edit_text1').value);"></p></td> <td width="340"><p align="right">&nbsp;</p></td> </tr> </form> </TBODY> </table>

  • MySQL : Insert Exactly Same Data Multiple Rows Without PHP Loop

    - by Robert Hanson
    I need to insert same data to my MySQL table without having PHP loop. The reason why I'm doing this is that because I have a column with Auto_Increment feature and that column associates with other table. So, I just need to insert some exactly same data and it's multiple rows (dynamic) but by using single INSERT syntax below : INSERT INTO outbox_multipart (TextDecoded) VALUES ('$SMSMessage') how to have this single INSERT syntax, but produce n number of rows?

  • Connect to MySQL via PHP script tunnel

    - by Neo
    Here's the question, I need to connect to a remote MySQL database from my C# Application, problem is the MySQL instance will block all access to all IP's apart from localhost, this can not be changed as its too much of a security issue. The question is, is it possible to connect via a tunnel instead to a php script hosted on the server, this would then act as the mysql connection. Any ideas and suggestions?

  • issue while synchronising PHP (reading file) and Ajax (jquery ui slider)

    - by Boris
    Hello, I got an issue while trying to display a jquery UI slider with its range based on a values read with PHP from a text file. Its seems that it's a syncrhonising issue as I get the error: "An attempt was made to use an object that is not, or is no longer, usable" code: 11" Is there a way I can force the jquery UI slider to wait for the value to be present or to work in synchrone mode ? Thanks in advance.

  • URL Controller Mapping Strategies (PHP)

    - by sunwukung
    This is kind of an academic question, so feel free to exit now. I've had a dig through Stack for threads pertaining to URL/Controller mapping in MVC frameworks - in particular this one: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/125677/php-application-url-routing So far, I can ascertain two practices: 1: dynamic mapping through parsing the URL string (exploded on '/') 2: pattern matching matching url to config file containing available routes I wanted to get some feedback (or links to some other threads/articles) from folks regarding their views on how best to approach this task.

  • What's the PHP framework equivalent of jQuery?

    - by Cortopasta
    jQuery made javascript so easy for me, I was able to get up and running in a couple of hours doing most tasks. Which PHP framework has similar ease of use and rapid development/write less ability? Or am I stuck basically learning a new language no matter what framework I decide on?
