What to do with DATETIMEOFFSET?

Someone asked me today if the time zone of a specific instance of SQL Server could be changed to match the country which that instance served. Some database products allow you to set this at an engine level which made me wonder if your data’s time fields “move” with the time zone setting of the database server instance? Running CopySourceAsHtml Add-in under Visual Studio 2010

Until now CopySourceAsHtml only supports Visual Studio 2008 out of the box. But it is no problem to pimp up the config-file for supporting Visual Studio 2010. Copy all three files to "%userprofile%\Documents\Visual Studio 2010\Addins" Open CopySourceAsHtml.AddIn in a text editor and change both lines with <Version>9.0</Version> to <Version>10.0</Version> Run Visual Studio 2010 and CopySourceAsHtml works fine

I recently installed the KDE Kubuntu desktop but after somehow working with i decided to use pure GNOME Ubuntu desktop again.I remove Kubuntu desktop and its packages completely but Kubuntu background image still running at time of booting the system and shutting down it. I tried the steps below at terminal , it made the shutting down background image correct but still the background image of booting time is kubuntu image. sudo update-alternatives --set default.plymouth /lib/plymouth/themes/ubuntu-logo/ubuntu-logo.plymouth How could i change this image to the default Ubuntu image too?

dropbox configuration

I've dropbox v1.4.17 installed and I want to change the path from (...)/Dropbox to (...)/dropbox. I think until v1.2 this was done by changing dropbox_path field in the sqlite file ~/.dropbox/config.db. Now, this field is hidden inside the encrypted ~/.dropbox/config.dbx (security reasons [1], I guess). Anyone has a solution to this? I'm thinking about placing my dropbox folder in ~/.local/share/Dropbox and then linking that to the path I want to set. [1] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tqmqtborOSw

I removed my WinXP machine's association to U1 from within the Windows client, and now can't get it back to work anymore

After testing the windows client for U1 sync, I decided to test the preferences' settings, and tried to remove the association for the WinXP station from which I was working. Now I can start the client, but if I try to open the preferences' settings the application stops. I tried to uninstalle and reinstall, but that won't change the situation: appearently the old settings are kept the same even after a total reinstall.

When using sudo, I get 'premission denied'

When using sudo to allow edits to files, I regularly get 'permission denied'. For example, my mouse is jittery and sluggish, so I want to disable polling: sudo echo "options drm_kms_helper poll=N">/etc/modprobe.d/local.conf I'm prompted for a password, and then get: bash: /etc/modprobe.d/local.conf: Permission denied So I tried to do a temporary change to disable polling by using: sudo echo N> /sys/module/drm_kms_helper/parameters/poll Yet again the system responded with: bash: /sys/module/drm_kms_helper/parameters/poll: Permission denied Any ideas?

Classic vs universal and loss of historical data

I'm keen to use some of the new features in Google Universal Analytics. I have an old site though that I don't want to lose the historical data for. The comparisons with historical data are interesting for example. However Google doesn't appear to allow you to change a property from the classic code to the new code. Am I missing something? I'm surprised this isn't a bigger issue for many other users.

Should I provide a REST interface on every web application and let the admin application make all the calls? This seems like a common problem that's already been solved by smarter people than me. I am working on an application which deals with all kinds of USB storage devices(such as taking backup, updating DataLogFile etc) My problem is : I want to write a shell script which is stored in this USB drive(As usb is at center of my project so USB is going to be same but PC's will change) AND this script should be executed as soon as the USB drive is connected to my Linux system.I will not need any kind of "root" or "sudo" permissions for other tasks which I am going to do in this shell script.

Can't access my admin ubuntu account

It just shows a black screen with words in it for a fraction of a second and then gets back to users screen(where you choose your user). I tried to enter from another account and removed the password for the admin account , but it didn't work too , and then I couldn't access my admin privileged places with my old password ? What should I do ? I tried to change my password from recovery but no success.
