    I have a pagination script that displays a list of all pages like so: prev [1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9][10][11][12][13][14] next But I would like to only show ten of the numbers at a time: prev [3][4][5][6][7][8][9][10][11][12] next How can I accomplish this? Do I need to pass pointers, references, or non-pointer and non-reference values? I remember in Java there are no such issues since we pass just the variable that holds reference to the objects.     Hey, Currently i try to create some of my database export work more automated and i decided to go with exporting data from MySql database to .doc file in php. So im doing some database work and store complete html to a $str variable and then write/make new file: $fp = fopen($file, 'w+'); fwrite($fp,$str); fclose($fp); The problem here is not creating .doc file, but when i download and view that .doc file it's not in UTF-8 it's in unicode.

  • How does the performance of pure Nginx compare to cpNginx?

    There is now a Cpanel plugin to fairly easily setup Nginx as a reverse proxy on a Cpanel/Apache server. I've been simultaneously interested in setting up my first unmanaged VPS and my first Nginx server and as a masochist figured why not combine the two. I'm wondering however if it's worth setting up a pure Nginx server vs trying out cpNginx on Apache? My goal is solely to host WordPress sites and while what I've read raves about Nginx's is exceptional ability serving static at least as a reverse proxy, I am unclear if there is substantial benefit to running a pure nginx with eAccelorator over cpNginx on Apache for dynamic sites? Regardless I'll be running W3TC on all sites to cache content, but am still interested if there are big CPU reductions running PHP scripts under pure Nginx over cpNginx?

  • Get OpenVPN clients names to resolve through dnsmasq

    I have a PFSense box running as an OpenVPN server. There are several remote devices that connect through the VPN (as tap devices). The VPN stuff is working, I can access the remote hardware by looking up the IP assigned to each device on the PFSense router. What I'd like is to have it so I can resolve the remote hardware addresses via DNS while on the local network. Note that this is only local-network - remote-device (they're backup boxes). I don't need to have the remote devices resolve using the local DNS forwarding agent. I have the rest of the devices on the network that need to be accessible via DNS report their name during the DHCP process. However, the IP assignment for OpenVPN tap clients, while it is dynamic (which is why I need DNS), does not seem to use the local DHCP server. How can I have my openvpn server add information for it's clients to the dnsmask resolver? Is this setup even reasonable (I'm not familiar with openVPN at all)?

    Hi: Is there any alternative to non-ISO gcc specific extension __attribute__ on 64-bit kernels ? Three types that i've noticed are: function attributes, type attributes and variable attributes. eg. i'd like to avoid using __attribute__((__packed__)) for structures passed over the network, even though some gcc based code do use it.     In Javascript, I am sometimes too immerged in the idea that a function creates a new scope, that sometimes I even think the following anonymous function will create a new scope when it is being defined and assigned to onclick: <a href="#" id="link1">ha link 1</a> <a href="#" id="link2">ha link 2</a> <a href="#" id="link3">ha link 3</a> <a href="#" id="link4">ha link 4</a> <a href="#" id="link5">ha link 5</a> <script type="text/javascript"> for (i = 1; i <= 5; i++) { document.getElementById('link' + i).onclick = function() { var x = i; alert(x); return false; } } </script> but in fact, the anonymous function will create a new scope, that's right, but ONLY when it is being invoked, is that so? So the x inside the anonymous function is not created, no new scope is created. When the function was later invoked, there is a new scope alright, but the i is in the outside scope, and the x gets its value, and it is all 6 anyways. Each item has a variable sized text in it, giving each item a different width. However, I want the width to be constant so that all items have the same width as the item with the longest text.     I have a SQL table (MYSQL 4.0 to be precise) composed of the following : int no (primary) int field1 int field2 I would like to swap the values of field1 with the values of field2 and vice-versa. Ex.: 1;2.5;3.76 becomes 1;3.76;2.5 I need a swapping temporary variable of some sort. But I don't think I can use something like Set @var1 = field1 inside my update statement. And I don't think altering the table to add a temporary column is my best best either.

  • Configure Virtualbox guest with static IP, SSH and internet access from host

    I have an Ubuntu Server 12 virtualbox guest running on a Windows 7 host which has a dynamic IP (and I don't wanna change this considering it's a laptop and I'm changing network frenquently). I want to have a static IP for my VM and a SSH access from my host but I still want to have the internet access on my VM. I tried added a second host only adapter and configured /etc/network/interface to set eth1 to a static ip, but I can't connect via SSH to it. Setting only adapter1 to host only works for SSH and static IP but I lose the internet access.

    CONTROLLER Raid Controller: 3Ware 9650SE-24M8 Disks: 21 x 1TB RAID5 Stripe 64KB WINDOWS OS: Windows Server 2003 SP2 32x Disk: Dynamic 19557.44GB Volume: Capacity 15832.19GB I guess my array must have a 4KB block size which is limiting it to 16TB. I think I would have to switch to a 64KB block size to be able to see a maximum of 256TB. Or create another unit on my controller to go above 16TB of storage. Unfortunately I have already added over 16TB, ideally I would like to shrink the array and reclaim the 5 disks that aren't doing anything. I don't think this is possible. More likely, can I change the block size so 20TB becomes visible in windows?

    I have a drupal site where all the views and times associated with nodes are off by 1-hour. -I checked the server time, and it is correct -I checked that my admin user (uid 1) had a zero in the timezone offset -Checked all CCK date fields in question to make sure there was no timezone handling Yet still when the admin user views nodes, there is a 1-hour offset.
