  • Generate a valid array key from an URL string in PHP

    - by John Riche
    I have a PHP array with some predefined values: $aArray = array( 0 => 'value0', 1 => 'value1' ); I need to create a function where the string input will always return the same, valid, array key so that when I call: GiveMeAKey('http://www.google.com'); // May return 0 or 1 I receive always the same key (I don't care which one) from the array. Obvisously I can't store the relationship in a database and the string passed to the GiveMeAKey method can be any URL. I wonder if there is a way of doing that ?

  • How do I log the raw HTTP headers with a PHP script?

    - by php
    I'm using a cURL script to send POST data through a proxy to a script and I want to see what raw HTTP headers the cURL script is sending. List of things I've tried: echo curl_getinfo($ch, CURLINFO_HEADER_OUT) gives no output. file_get_contents('php://input') gets some HTTP headers but not all. print_r($_SERVER) also gets some HTTP headers but not all (I know this because there should be a X-Forwarded-For header and there isn't) Printing all superglobals ($_POST, $_GET, $_REQUEST, $_FILES etc) still doesn't show the raw HTTP headers. http_get_request_headers(), apache_request_headers(), $http_response_header, $HTTP_RAW_POST_DATA aren't outputting everything. Help?

  • Need help with cURL and POSTing in PHP

    - by alex
    I need to post to a payment gateway. The example PHP script for the gateway simply sets the XML like this curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_POSTFIELDS, $xmlRequest); // $xmlRequest is just a string of XML In all of my experience, generally you need to use an array with key/values or a string similar to GET params. I am using Kohana, and tracked down a cURL module. It accepts the POST key/values as an array only. Now, I could ditch the module and throw some cURL straight in, but I am using this module fine all throughout the site, so would prefer to use it here. So, my question is, how does that first one work? Does it just POST the whole thing without any named key? Is there a default key I could use for an array to get the module to work?

  • [php + mysql] Save IP in database

    - by Knarf
    When a user logs inn I want to save their IP in the database. How would I do that? What type is best to use for the MySQL field? How would the PHP code to get IP look like? I'm thinking of using it as an extra security feature for the login/session stuff. I'm thinking of checking the IP the user logged in with from the DB with the IP the user have now as addition to checking the session. So that it first check the session, and then check if you have a valid IP. Is that an allright extra feature? And what other things can I do to make it more secure?

  • php: two objects from the same class work independent of each other

    - by user317563
    Good morning, I would like the code in my controller to look something like this: <?php $class = new sanitizeInput() $string1 = $class -> input($_POST[name]) -> mysql_escape(); $string2 = $class -> input($_POST[age]) -> mysql_escape(); print " String1: $string1 <br /> String2: $string2" ?> It seems with my sanitizeInput class, any change to $string2 is applied to $string1. What ways can I change this? I would preferably like to make the changes within the class to make my controller as easily read as possible. Thank you for your time. Kind regards, Marius

    - by happyCoding25
    Hello, Im trying to insert data into a table in MySQL. I found/modified some code from w3Schools and still couldn't get it working. Heres what I have so far: <?php $rusername=$_POST['username']; $rname=$_POST['name']; $remail=$_POST['emailadr']; $rpassword=$_POST['pass']; $rconfirmpassword=$_POST['cpass']; if ($rpassword==$rconfirmpassword) { $con = mysql_connect("host","user","password"); if (!$con) { die('Could not connect: ' . mysql_error()); } mysql_select_db("mydbname ", $con); } mysql_query("INSERT INTO members (id, username, password) VALUES ('4', $rusername, $rpassword)"); ?> Did I mistype something?   • session expires to soon in php

    - by user1669425
    I want to extend a session time so that a session variable does not expire until after 12 hours. Problem is that after 24 minutes (default time for a session until it expires) of inactivity it still expires the session and hence gives me undefined indexes for those SESSION variables. What else do I need to do in the code below in order to be able to extend the sessions so that it does not expire on its own until 12 hours has passed: <?php ini_set('session.gc_maxlifetime',12*60*60); ini_set('session.cookie_lifetime',12*60*60); phpinfo(); session_start(); ....//rest of code below ?> in phpinfo() it states this below for gc_maxlifetime: Local Value Master Value session.gc_maxlifetime 43200 1440 session.cookie_lifetime 43200 0

  • Java static source analysis/parsing (possibly with antlr), what is a good tool to do this?

    - by Berlin Brown
    I need to perform static source analysis on Java code. Ideally, I want the system to work out of the box without much modification from me. For example, I have used Antlr in the past, but I spent a lot of time building grammar files and still didn't get what I wanted. I want to be able to parse a java file and have return the character position of say: Character position start and end of a Java block comment Character position start and end of a Java class file Character position start and end of a Java method declaration, signature, and implementation. It looks like Antlr will do that, but I have yet to finish a grammar that actually gives me the positions of the code I need. Does anyone have that complete Antlr grammar and Java code to give the character positions of the parts in the Java source.

  • How to self-update PHP+MySQL CMS?

    - by SaltLake
    I'm writing a CMS on PHP+MySQL. I want it to be self-updatable (throw one click in admin panel). What are the best practices? How to compare current version of cms and a version of the update (application itself and database). Should it just download zip archive, upzip it and overwrite files? (but what to do with files that are no longer used). How to check if an update is downloaded correctly? Also it supports modules and I want this modules to be downloadable from the admin panel of cms. And how should I update MySQL tables?

    I am new to J2ee. I have experience in Java core, JSP,Servlet, XML, HTML, What should i learn to step into the world of J2EE? Framework(Spring, Hibernate, Struts)? But the framework is too abstract for me.I saw lots of job post which requires frameworks, some jobs require EJB,JPA. I do not where to start. Any experts can give me hints on that? • Version control PHP Web Project

    - by Adam Lerman
    We have a php project that we would like to version control. Right now there are three of us working on a "Dev" version of the project that all have our Eclipse linked to it with just an external folder, and thus no version control. What is the right way, and what is the best way, to version control this (not necessarily the same I dont think) We have a SVN set up but just need to find a good way to check in and check out that lets us test on the dev server. Any ideas?

  • mysql PHP query question

    - by camran
    Ok, i have a problem here... I am sending values of drop down lists via ajax to this PHP file. Now I want to search a mysql database using these values, which I have managed to do, BUT, only if I set the values to something... Take a look: $query = "SELECT * FROM cars_db WHERE price BETWEEN '$cars_price_from' AND '$cars_price_to' AND year BETWEEN '$cars_year_from' AND '$cars_year_to' AND mileage BETWEEN '$cars_mileage_from' AND '$cars_mileage_to' AND gearbox = '$cars_gearbox' AND fuel = '$cars_fuel'"; now, what if the user doesnt select any "price_from" or "year_from"... The fields are only optional, so if the user doesnt enter any "price from" or "year from", then the user wants ALL cars to show... Do I have to write a query statement for each case or is there another way?

  • Open Source PHP search engine

    - by Ravi Gupta
    I am looking for an open source search engine plugin written in php for my website(eCommerce). Before anybody answer that I have a doubt regarding the search engine. Usually search engine crawl web pages, create indexes and then use them while looking for contents. But will the same model work for eCommerce websites? Yeah, it can crawl products pages, index them but don't you think it would be better if it crawls the database directly and index the products stored in the database? And when a user search for any product, it will simply give us the rows of the table which matches the user query? May be what I am asking is a stupid question but I am new to web development, so kindly help me to understand the concept. I have looked at a search engine called Sphider but didn't get what all I have to do to make it work with an eCommerce website.

  • Compress a php array

    - by Derek Adair
    I need to take an array that looks something like ... array( 11 => "fistVal", 19 => "secondVal", 120=> "thirdVal", 200 =>"fourthVal"); and convert it to... array( 0 => "fistVal", 1 => "secondVal", 2=> "thirdVal", 3 =>"fourthVal"); This is what I came up with - function compressArray($array){ if(count($array){ $counter = 0; $compressedArray = array(); foreach($array as $cur){ $compressedArray[$count] = $cur; $count++; } return $compressedArray; } else { return false; } } I'm just curious if there is any built-in functionality in php or neat tricks to do this.
