  • Content border not showing in any browser!

    I have been working on a project for a few days now and have just recently noticed that the border of 2 of my content areas are not showing in Mozilla or IE. http://www.gamefriction.com/Coded/ is where the page is located. If you look at the main content area where the "news" is you will see that there is a 1px solid border that is a slightly darker grey than the 4px border surrounding each content box. On the right column content the 1px solid #dfdfdf; border does not show. I can't seem to find any reason why this is not showing. Any ideas?

  • "javascript: void(0)" links sometimes break event handlers in internet explorer

    A while back I ran in to a problem where after clicking an anchor with "javascript: void(0)" events just stopped firing. I read that following a link puts the page in a different state and in that different state events don't fire. Even though the link is not real, it sometimes confuses IE. Anyway, I removed the "javascript: void(0)"'s and the problem has not been seen again. Now, in a different application I am seeing the same thing... kinda. Clicking the "javascript: void(0)" sometimes has no ill effect. But then for some reason or another after clicking the bad link the page will stop working. Once this happens it will continue to happen consistently until the client machine is rebooted. After reboot, you are back to it sometimes happening. Crazy right? Reboot fixing a web page!?!?! So, my question is has anyone seen this before? Can anyone give an explanation for this issue? Any documentation on this issue? I can't seem to find anything on it again. Does this even make sense? I already know "javascript: void(0)" is bad practice... I am just looking to understand the issue. Specifically, this is IE7. Thanks for reading!

  • Array of Sentences?

    Javascript noob here.... I am trying to build a site that will help my kids read predefined sentences from a select group, then when a button is clicked it will display one of the sentences. Is an array the best option for this? For example, I have this array (below) and on the click of a button I would like one of these sentences to appear on the page. <script type="text/javascript"> Sentence = new Array() Sentence[0]='Can we go to the park.'; Sentence[1]='Where is the orange cat? Said the big black dog.'; Sentence[2]='We can make the bird fly away if we jump on something.' Sentence[3]='We can go down to the store with the dog. It is not too far away.' Sentence[6]='We are going to swim at the park.' </script> Again, is an array the best for this and how could I get the sentence to display?   • Need to include #anchor after querystring list

    Hello, Form is 'get' to a API which operates off of querystring. One of the parameters is a PackageID which indicates a vacation package. In order for the packageID to appear I also need to append '#packages' to the end of the get request. Since not all form 'get' have a package I need this to be dynamic. I've tried adding a hidden field with '#packages' as the value - however the '#' is automatically encoded and therefore not registered when the server grabs the URL. What would be the best way for me to dynamically include '#packages' as it appears in the querystring via javascript? Thanks!

    I have been looking everywhere for a way to do this. There are a lot of people that have asked the questions but when I try myself i cant seem to get it to work. Often I get the format correct but it inputs the information into a new page instead of saving it. I did manage to get one to work for google chrome but when i ran it in internet explorer it didnt work. I have a table being created from a MYSQL query and i would like the table to be able to be saved as a CSV. Could anyone help me out?

  • How to override <base> tag without removing the tag itself?

    I'm trying to add some internal links(in the format of a content table, to be able to facilitate webpage navigation) to this site in which a tag is used. Now obviously due to the base tag, every other relative tag will be relative to the base tag href. But in order for me to create this internal content table with the links pointing to different parts of the specific page, i need to get the default URL (before base tag is in effect) so the internal links can work properly. Is there a way to do get around the base tag and accomplish this? PS: if the question is unclear please don't hesitate to ask so i can reformulate Thanks in advance, :D :D

  • $_POST Variable Detected in Chrome but not in Firefox

    I am using 2 images in a form to sort out query results from the database. The form is submitted using the POST method. When i click on the first image, the query results have to be sorted in ascending order, and when i click on the second, the results have to be sorted in the descending order. This is the code for the form: <form name="" action="" method="post"> <input type="hidden" name="typep" value="price" /> <input type="image" name="sort" value="asc" src="images/asc-ar.png" /> <input type="image" name="sort" value="desc" src="images/dsc-ar.png" /> </form> Now this is the code for checking if the $_REQUEST['sort'] variable is set and therefore whether sorting is required or not. if ($_REQUEST['sort'] != "") { $sort = $_REQUEST['sort']; $typep = $_REQUEST['typep']; //query to be executed depending on values of $sort and $typep } Firefox does detect the $_REQUEST['typep'] variable but not the $_REQUEST['sort'] one. This works perfectly in Chrome though. When i test the site in Firefox, it doesn't detect the $_REQUEST['sort'] variable and therefore the if condition evaluates to false and the search results don't get sorted.

The code works on Chrome(Android + PC) and even the stock Android browser, but NOT Firefox(Android + PC). Is there any good alternative to it? Why is it not working anyways? There are quite some questions on SO about it too, but none of them provide a legitimate solution, so can someone just tell me if they have background-size: cover; issues on firefox too? So basically tell me 3 things: 1. Why is it happening? 2. What is a good alternative to it? 3. Is this happening to you too? On Firefox browsers of course.   • Can I define which characters are allowed to 'break' a word?

    Hey guys, I'm showing up veeeery long URLs in my Safari extension. Obviously, they can't fit on a single line. Currently, word breaking rules make it so most URLs are on two lines: the first one is rather short and ends with the ? symbol, and the other is ridiculously long and contains all the rest of the GET parameters. I'd like to make it so words also break on the & symbol, without screwing up copy-paste if possible. I've tried to replace every & with &\u00ad (& + the soft hyphen character), but it's kind of weird to see the hyphen after the & when there really isn't any in the URL. I thought there was something in store with CSS3 for that kind of problem, but I can't find it. Any suggestion welcome, as long as it works with Safari.

    Hi, I am creating a cookie in a jsp script, which is located at: www.myproject.com/login/index.jsp if I restart the browser and navigate there, all works well, I can see the cookie persist. If I navigate to: www.myproject.com I am not seeing the cookie. Do I need to set something in the cookie path or domain to make the cookie visible to the entire [myproject.com] domain (I just want to access the cookie from whatever sub path the user may be on).     I have the following expression which will be used as date validation in the HTML5 "pattern" attribute. ?:0[1-9]|1[0-9]|2[0-9])|(?:(?!02)(?:0[1-9]|1[0-2])-(?:30))|(?:(?:0[13578]|1[02])-31))-(?:(?:0[1-9]|1[0-2])-(?:19|20)[0-9]{2} I want it to allow only valid dates, using "-" as a separator. This means up to 29th in February if it's a leap year, and 30/31 for other months respectively. Currently, it only allows years starting with 2 (2012) and months up to 12 (December). But it limits the day to 29 regardless of which month. Can anybody help me fix it?
