• USB enumeration failure in ColdFire MCF52259

  Anybody with programming experience on the ColdFire line, please help! I'm using the CMX USB-Lite stack with the ColdFire MCF52259. For some reason, USB enumeration fails at the very first step, as soon as I enable the DP pull-up resistor. This is what I'm doing :- INT_ENB, OTG_INT_EN, ERR_ENB are set to 0x0 INT_STAT, OTG_INT_STAT and ERR_STAT are set to 0xff (This should clear all interrupts) In the Interrupt Status Register, bits 0 (Mask All) and 53 are made 0, all others are 1. TOK_DNE, USB_RST and STALL interrupts are enabled in INT_ENB. BDT base address is set. MCF_USB_CTL holds 0x1 PROBLEM: After the host issues the first reset (at which point I enable Control endpoint 0), instead of the expected Get Descriptor request I'm getting an endless series of resets. At least, that's what it looks like, because the TOK_DNE interrupt never triggers. Is there anything I'm doing wrong?

• Lazy loading of ESB in a jruby rails app

  I have a jruby/rails app using: jruby 1.4.0 Rails 2.3.5 ActiveMQ 5.3.0 Mule ESB 2.2.1 Currently in our environment.rb file we start up Mule in the initializer. This becomes a big pain when we go to do normal rake tasks that don't require JMS/Mule such as db:migrate as it takes a long time to startup/shutdown Mule everytime. The code is similar to this: APP_CONTEXT = Java::our.company.package.service_clients.Initializer.getAppContext(MULE_CONFIG_PATH) And we use APP_CONTEXT to fetch the bean to connect to the appropriate service. I'm trying to figure out some mechanism by which APP_CONTEXT could be lazily instantiated (not in initialize) to avoid all of the pains of having to startup Mule on initialize. Currently we have a few ruby client classes that are instantiated as a before_filter in application_controller such as @data_service = DataService.new(APP_CONTEXT) that initialize the proper java client for each request for use in our controllers. I'm open to all suggestions. I'm having a hard time trying to find the right place to put this lazy instantiation.

• Rebuilding lazily-built attribute when an underlying attribute changes in Moose

  I've got a Moose class with a lazy_build attribute. The value of that attribute is a function of another (non-lazy) attribute. Suppose somebody instantiates the class with a value of 42 for the required attribute. Then they request the lazy attribute, which is calculated as a function of 42. Then, they have the nerve to change the first attribute! The lazy one has already been built, so the builder will not get called again, and the lazy attribute is now out-of-date. I have a solution now where I maintain a "dirty" flag on the required attribute, and an accessor on the lazy one checks the dirty flag and rebuilds it if needed. However, this seems like a lot of work. Is there a way to handle this within Moose, e.g. using traits?

Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code. Exception Details: System.PlatformNotSupportedException: This operation requires IIS integrated pipeline mode. I can find information about this on the Internet but need specific info about how to work with Integrated Pipeline mode (presumably through web.config?) to allow HTTP headers to be manipulated. Note: I am using the Visual Studio built-in web server instead of full-fledged IIS

  I have a Logon page in a MVC (1.0) application that I am securing with SSL, I have an attribute that inspects the request for the page and redirects to a https uri when it is requested with http. This all works, however when I post the form content i get the following error: The parameters dictionary contains a null entry for parameter 'rememberMe' of non-nullable type 'System.Boolean' for method 'System.Web.Mvc.ActionResult LogOn(System.String, System.String, Boolean, System.String)' in 'DAC.US.Web.Portal.Controllers.AccountController'. To make a parameter optional its type should be either a reference type or a Nullable type. Parameter name: parameters here is the controller code... // // GET: /Account/LogOn [RequiresSSL] public ActionResult LogOn(string ReturnUrl) { if (TempData["Message"] != null) ViewData["Message"] = TempData["Message"]; TempData["Message"] = null; ViewData["ReturnUrl"] = ReturnUrl ?? • Need to upload binary to test in-app purchase?

  Opinion seems to be split on whether an app binary is required to be uploaded to iTunes Connect before a testing an in-app purchase. I've created the app (no binary uploaded yet), created the in-app purchase, enabled by App ID for in-app purchase and marked the purchase "available for sale". I've followed the instructions in the guide as far as I can tell. However, when I try it on my device I am unable to retrieve the products - SKProductRequest returns my request product as invalid. Any suggestions what I need to do? Does the in-app purchase product need to "Developer Approved" for this to work? Any definitive answer on whether a binary needs to be uploaded? I would like to avoid that if possible but am willing to do it if required.

  I'm using JetBrains PhpStorm, which is probably the most epic IDE I've ever used. The question is simple. How do I add Compass syntax support to it? I've got it installed, it renders and works, but PhpStorm still complains about undefined imports and mixins. How can I resolve this? Can Compass be included as an external library? Edit: I'd just like to note that this feature request is for the RubyMine IDE (also by JetBrains), it's not for PhpStorm/WebStorm.

• Strange behaviour of code inside TransactionScope?

  We are facing a very complex issue in our production application. We have a WCF method which creates a complex Entity in the database with all its relation. public void InsertEntity(Entity entity) { using(TransactionScope scope = new TransactionScope()) { EntityDao.Create(entity); } } EntityDao.Create(entity) method is very complex and has huge pieces of logic. During the entire process of creation it creates several child entities and also have several queries to database. During the entire WCF request of entity creation usually Connection is maintained in a ThreadStatic variable and reused by the DAOs. Although some of the queries in DAO described in step 2 uses a new connection and closes it after use. Overall we have seen that the above process behaviour is erratic. Some of the queries in the inner DAO does not even return actual data from the database? The same query when run to the actaul data store gives correct result. What can be possible reason of this behaviour?

• SQLite character encoding for Google Gears

  We're using jQuery to get a JSON-string from our server (UTF-8 response, also UTF-8 request through jQuery) and put this JSON into a Google Gears WorkerPool. This workerpool processes the JSON and stores it into a Gears database (SQLite). It turns out that, apparently, SQLite stores data using iso-8859-1 rather than UTF-8. Since we're trying to store user names that might contain Cyrillic characters (and others that you might encounter in Europe), this goes horribly wrong. Can anyone tell me how to change the character encoding in either the Gears WorkerPool or the SQLite database that Gears employs? Of course, if I'm looking in the wrong direction with my problem, feel free to offer alternatives! Unfortunately, HTML5 isn't an option as we're supposed to support IE7 primarily.

• Why don't the .net 4.0 charting controls work in Visual Studio 2010?

  The .net charting controls are advertised as being built into .net 4.0. However, they do not work in Visual Studio 2010 Pro or Visual Web Developer 2010 Express. I get the error, System.Web.HttpException: Error executing child request for ChartImg.axd. That sounds like the message from .net 3.5 if charting wasn't set up correctly. But the bottom of the same page says, "Version Information: Microsoft .NET Framework Version:4.0.30319; ASP.NET Version:4.0.30319.1" Does anyone know why this doesn't work?

• Asp.Net application/web service not working on Vista/IIS7: access right problem?

  I have an .Net 3.5 based web service running at http://localhost/serivce.svc/. Then I have a Asp.Net application running at http://localhost/myApp. In Application_Load my App reads some XML configuration from the web service. That works fine on my machine, but: On Vista with IIS7 the request to the web services fails. The web service can be accessed via the browser without any problem. I configured the app pool of my App to run as admin. I added the admin to the IIS_USRS group, but it still cannot access the web service. impersonate=true/false seems not to make a difference.

  Is there a limit of how many js file I can include () in facebook? I include 5 files. no problem.. the 6th one not loaded. Then I have to put the code in the 6th one into the 5th file. then works. so, is it 5 files in max? BY THE WAY, I'm developing the apps now, not in production. so it is not in the stage of compressing JS / minizing it. :) so it is kinda annoying to got missing js files or files not loaded..etc so, what is the limit from FB? what is the file size limit? I know that the JSON request call back data limit is 5000.. but not sure about the js include.

• Prevent IE users from visiting my site?

  Internet Explorer has caused me a lot of trouble over the years, between security problems, memory leaks, endless CSS and JavaScript hacks to get my site to look correct, and inconsistencies between releases, I've spent countless hours as the hapless victim of IE's idiosyncrasies. Well that ends today, I've decided to take matters into my own hands and ban all users of IE from visiting my website. That will teach them to use such a cruddy browser. My question is how best to do this? I don't want to rely on JavaScript, which could be disabled, nor the request agent string, which could be tampered with. A clever user could even temporarily switch to Firefox or Chrome just to visit my site. Ideally, I'd have a list of the IP addresses of every IE user in the world and restrict based on the IP address. The main problem I'm having, aside from getting the list in the first place, is how do I keep it updated? Thanks!

  I have 2 entities, Task and List. Each task has a to-one relationship to a List object called "list", and there is an inverse relationship with List, which has a to-many relationship with Task called "tasks". I'm trying to use a fetch request with an NSPredicate to get all the Task objects that belong to a specified List: NSPredicate *predicate = [NSPredicate predicateWithFormat:@"list=%@", theList]; [fetchRequest setPredicate:predicate]; (where "theParent" is a reference to a List object). However this returns no fetched objects. If I take out the predicate, then the objects are returned (so I do know they exist, and by NSLogging theList I know it has Task objects associated with it). • C# Sequence Diagramm Reverse Engineering Tool?

  It's essential for me to find a tool that will reverse engineer sequence diagrams by integrating with the debugger. I suppose using the profiler could work also but less desirable. It's a key requirement that the tool in question will record all threads of execution since the app, TickZoom, is heavily parallelized. We just evaluated a most awesome tool from Sparx called Enterprise Architect which integrates with the debugger. It allows you to set a break point, start recording method traces from that break point. It's a lovely design and GUI. Hope it works for you but it only records a single thread of execution so that makes it unusable for us. I will put in a feature request to Sparx. But hope to find a similar tool that does this now since that's the only features we need--not all the other stuff that Sparx also does rather well. Sincerely, Wayne

  I publish discount offers for my city. Offer models are passed to template ( ~15 offers per page). In django code it is possible to use select_related to prepopulate needed values, how can i decrease number of requests in template?

  Hi, For some reason, I want to serve my robots.txt via a PHP script. I have setup apache so that the robots.txt file request (infact all file requests) come to a single PHP script. The code I am using to render robots.txt is: echo "User-agent: wget\n"; echo "Disallow: /\n"; However, it is not processing the newlines. How to server robots.txt correctly, so search engines (or any client) see it properly? Do I have to send some special headers for txt files? EDIT: Now I have the following code: header("Content-Type: text/plain"); echo "User-agent: wget\n"; echo "Disallow: /\n"; which still does not display newlines (see http://sarcastic-quotes.com/robots.txt ). • Opening popup links in UIWebView, possible?

  Hey guys, I have a UIWebView which I'm using as an embedded browser within my app. I've noticed that links in webpages that open new windows are ignored without any call into my code. I've tried breakpointing on - (BOOL)webView:(UIWebView *)webView shouldStartLoadWithRequest:(NSURLRequest *)request navigationType:(UIWebViewNavigationType)navigationType and then selecting a link that would open a popup window, and the breakpoint is never hit. Is there anything I can do to intercept that selection of the popup link and get the URL and just load it normally? I'm not interested in displaying a popup window in the app itself, I just want the URL of whatever is going to be loaded in the popup window to load in the main webview itself. Is this possible?
