  • PHP preg_replace function returns different values with the same data set

    I need to use preg_match PHP function. I have a simple pattern to check the string and the thing is as follows: when I run the script at first, it gives me no match (it is supposed to match though) but when I hold F5 in my browser for a while, out of a sudden it says there's a match within the string. As I keep pushing F5, it gives either true or false. Say the pattern is /^(.*)\/[A-Za-z0-9]*$/ (I guess it's not the best way but still) and the subject is galeria/zdjecia/. I believe preg_match should return true with this set of data. Note that the data does not change when pressing F5. Why is that?

Ideally the site I'm working on should not be able to be harvested so easily. So I was wondering what are the best methods to stop bots from harvesting your web content. Obvious solutions: Robots.txt (yea right) IP blacklists What can be done to catch bot activity? What can be done to make data extraction difficult? What can be done to give them crap data?     We would like to reserve a set of primary key identifiers for all tables (e.g. 1-1000) so that we can bootstrap the system with pre-loaded system data. All our JPA entity classes have the following definition for the primary key. @Id @GeneratedValue(strategy = IDENTITY) @Column(name = "id", unique = true, nullable = false, insertable = false, updatable = false) private Integer id; is there a way to tell the database that increments should start happening from 1000 (i.e. customer specific data will start from 1000 onwards). We support (h2, mysql, postgres) in our environment and I would prefer a solution which can be driven via JPA and reverse engineering DDL tools from Hibernate. Let me know if this is the correct approach

  • Avoid painting over nested controls

    I am writing a toolbar-style control and use the ThemeServices unit to paint the background required by the toolbar. Like so: ThemeServices.DrawElement(Canvas.Handle, ThemeServices.GetElementDetails(trRebarRoot), ARect); I then drop child controls onto the toolbar and voila - instant toolbar. Except that every now and again I notice that the nested (child) controls don't repaint as well. So my control paints its background and the child controls disappear until you move the mouse over them. Some of the edit controls show their client area (no border) and some of them are just gone altogether. This happens mostly when I place a window from another application over the toolbar and move it away. I keep thinking this has to be very easy to cure, that perhaps I'm somehow preventing the paint message from reaching the child controls, or missing an override but I have been unable to figure it out.

One of the input parameters is an array, this array data is hard coded and thus I want to pass the data like this: (this is how I would do it using PHP) myFunction(Array("1"=>"a","2"=>"b","3"=>"c")); Instead of $arr=Array("1"=>"a","2"=>"b","3"=>"c"); myFunction($arr); So how do I achieve this with my jQuery function, I want this to be a one liner if possible.

  • System.Security.Cryptography.CryptographicException: Length of the data to decrypt is invalid Error

    I used the code on http://www.obviex.com/samples/Encryption.aspx for encryption/decryption. I was successful in creating a simple test to functionality encrypt and decrypt data. However, I keep on getting the following error when I test the decrypt function that is used from the Accounts Controller. I am thinking it either has to do with the Machine Code within the Web.config or the the last byte not getting read by the decrypt code. Error: "Length of the data to decrypt is invalid" Note: I tried the padding fix I found on the internet and that did not work. Thanks in advance.

  • Consolidate data from many different databases into one with minimum latency

    I have 12 databases totaling roughly 1.0TB, each on a different physical server running SQL 2005 Enterprise - all with the same exact schema. I need to offload this data into a separate single database so that we can use for other purposes (reporting, web services, ect) with a maximum of 1 hour latency. It should also be noted that these servers are all in the same rack, connected by gigabit connections and that the inserts to the databases are minimal (Avg. 2500 records/hour). The current method is very flakey: The data is currently being replicated (SQL Server Transactional Replication) from each of the 12 servers to a database on another server (yes, 12 different employee tables from 12 different servers into a single employee table on a different server). Every table has a primary key and the rows are unique across all tables (there is a FacilityID in each table). What are my options, these has to be a simple way to do this.

  • Which hosting will let me execute my own EXE with PHP?

    I have a task that PHP (or any server-side scripting language) isn't practical for. It involves a lot of file I/O, processing, etc. and it will execute a lot faster using the program I made in C instead of PHP. Do any hosts allow you to upload your own EXE files and run them on the server using PHP's exec, shell_exec, etc. functions? Do you need a dedicated server to do this? Also, I don't know if Facebook's PHP HipHop is out yet, but I really don't want to use that.

    Hello, I would like to create a drawable in XML that should include: image drawable color drawable The color drawable provides white transparent color. So, as a result we would have image with some white transparent layer on top.     I am just testing an app to get data off our web server, previously I had been using: NSURL, NSURLRequest, NSURLConnection etc. to get the data that I wanted. But I have just noticed that if I swap to using XML I can simply do the following and pass the results to NSXMLParser: NSURL *url = [NSURL URLWithString:@"https://www.fuzzygoat.com/turbine?nbytes=1&fmt=xml"]; Am I right in thinking that if your just after XML this is an acceptable method? It just seems strongly short compared to what I was doing before? gary

    I am trying to use NHiberanate with NDbUnit but I cannot as NDbUnit tried to load MySql.Data version 1.0.10.1 and NHibernate tries to load version 6.2.2.0 and I can only reference one of them.   • Extracting data from multiple servers SQL 2005 SSIS

    I have created an SSIS package to connect to multiple SQL servers, create a database, a table and a stored procedure. The package also creates a job and schedules it to run every 5 minutes. The requirement is to collect performance metrics. I am using an ado object variable to get the server names and all the above tasks are in a for each loop and everything works fine. Now the problem: I need to create a data flow task, which will connect to each of these servers in turn, copy the performance metrics data over to a central server and purge the source table. I am unable to get this task to work. This task fails with "Unable to obtain Connection" error. Any help will be greatly appreciated. SQL Server Version : 2005 Thanks, Raj

I'm able to launch the app in firefox and able to see that the session data is not lost. I use Response.Redirect(page2, false) to redirect to another page. This is a showstopper for migrating to WPF for us. We need data virtualization in a ListView, like WinForms 2.0 has. Do you know a decent third-party control, or a relatively easy way of doing it with built-in controls? It doesn't need to be a DataGrid, a simple ListView will suffice. Note, I'm note talking about UI virtualization, it's data virtualization.

  • Modern way to handle and validate POST-data in MVC 2

    There are a lot of articles devoted to working with data in MVC, and nothing about MVC 2. So my question is: what is the proper way to handle POST-query and validate it. Assume we have 2 actions. Both of them operates over the same entity, but each action has its own separated set of object properties that should be bound in automatic manner. For example: Action "A" should bind only "Name" property of object, taken from POST-request Action "B" should bind only "Date" property of object, taken from POST-request As far as I understand - we cannot use Bind attribute in this case. So - what are the best practices in MVC2 to handle POST-data and probably validate it. UPD: After Actions performed - additional logic will be applied to the objects so they become valid and ready to store in persistent layer. For action "A" - it will be setting up Date to current date.
